Livermore Auto and Tire is an excellent choice for major repairs. My wife’s 2000 Volvo needed beyond power brake pump replaced John diagnostic over the telephone said it was a common problem in Volvos go to be 550 bucks today I brought the car in for an appointment to get it done it was exactly what he said it was a break for now just perfect and it only cost me exactly what he said it would I highly recommend Livermore Auto & tire or anything your car needs new tires rims anything A+

I came here for work on my car which had failed SMOG. The guy I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, and explained everything he did very well. The diagnosis fee was VERY reasonable. Definitely will be back again next time I have car trouble.

Great people Don and John are ! Exceptional work on getting me (4) tires 195/​70R14. John told me that «They don’t really make em’ that small anymore», but he managed to get them for me. These guys are very polite and professional in all aspects of their trade. I’m a customer for life now. Oh, the tires cost me $ 340.00 which I thought was reasonable.

My brother has been taking his vehicles here for many years and always raved about the service.
After getting a HUGE quote from a dealership, for much needed work on my Tacoma, I brought it in here. They did twice the job for nearly half the cost.

My wife and I have been going here with both our vehicles for several years and have been very pleased with the service, turn around time, price and quality of work.
We have had many occasions where we thought our vehicles were going to be very expensive for a major service, but they always came in well under the expected hit to the wallet. IMO, that’s a good quality of any shop if they can pair it with solid craftsmanship, which they do… EVERY TIME.
I have never felt like they were trying to rip me off or sell me a repair that wasn’t necessary.
Friendly employees run the front desk and they also do the work on your auto so they known what they are talking about and are often very close to their estimate.
**TIp** If you get your vehicle in to them first thing in the morning it will be ready even sooner.
Highly recommend them for your auto repair and routine service needs.

These guys are great, they are honest and fair and most importantly do great work. We have been taking our vehicles there for at least 10 years and have never had a problem with their work or their customer service. They were even willing to finish some work on one of our vehicles that my husband started but could not finish because he did not have the right tools. They are very busy and an appointment is always needed but they have always finished the work when promised.

My family and I have taken no less that five different cars and trucks to Livermore Auto & Tire for over ten years. We always been happy with their service and price. I trust them to repair my kids cars, my wife’s car and my truck.
They may not give you the cheapest price around if that is all you are after. But if you are after a fair price and quality repairs, these are your guys.
I have taken my 1978 Chevy Corvette, 1977 Dodge pickup, 2003 Mini Cooper, and my 2005 Nissan Titian, and other cars and we always feel they are honest and treat us fair.
A really great bunch of talented repair guys! Maybe I shouldn’t tell everyone? It’s already tough to get an appointment!

My parents and I have been going to Livermore Auto for years, and I would have the say that you get great service and there is no funny business that takes place here. You get a great deal on what you pick out and there is no bait and switch. Mel the owner is hard working and you rarely get to deal with the owner directly these days any more. He wants to make sure you get what you are looking for.

I’ve seen Mel, the owner, turn away business rather than wasting the customer’s time and money on a non-​issue.
I trust them to do a good job, priced fairly and have recommended them to many of my friends.

The guys at Livermore Auto and Tire have always been extremely helpful in diagnosing issues with my car and have quickly fixed any problems. They always seem to get me in quickly for an oil change and they have great customer service. Mel, the owner, is extremely helpful and I appreciate his no-​nonsense approach to fixing cars. I have taken my car here for the past 5 years and I will continue to!

I would give them 0 stars if possible. Back in the day the service level was acceptable despite the horrible customer service. Mel (the owner) truly takes an incredibly condescending tone if you ask too many questions, make a suggestion as to what might be wrong or just show any interest in the repair at all.
The worst part was when I inquired about the estimate of cost. He would not give it to me as he said I had to bring it in so he could determine the issue first. This is just fine however he said it would either need a transmission flush or a complete servicing… he couldn’t give me an estimate yet he knew exactly what the two issues may have been?
Take your car to someone that truly appreciates your business and treats you as a person and not an inconvenience.

Highly recommend this place! They are very knowledgeable, friendly and honest. I always call for an appointment because they get very busy, but if you need something in a pinch they can accomodate if it’s something urgent or they will talk you through it, they just won’t say they are busy and that’s it.

I was very optimistic of finally finding a mechanic I could trust after reading all the positive Unilocal reviews, however, my experience ended at dropping my car off. I called the day before and they told me it would cost $ 60 to diagnose my car and that if I fixed my car there, they would credit the $ 60 to the full repair. When I was going to drop the car off, Mel (the «manager») said it was going to be $ 90 and that it wasn’t going to apply to the repair (i.e. it was going to be on top of the repair). He then resorted with a pejorative tone and decided to lecture me about how things aren’t free and that no mechanic will give me credit toward the repair. I couldn’t believe he was giving me this tone after a mechanic (at this shop) the day before provided me with contradictory information. In addition, I’ve been to mechanics that will diagnose the vehicle for free or apply the credit to the repair – it makes sense considering the mechanic wants to keep the business in the shop.
I don’t need a Mel to lecture me about the nuances of simple economics and I don’t need a Mel to respond in a condescending manner. Worst customer service I’ve ever experience. Mel – next time, say, «I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, but…» — – then I would have left my car there and this shop would have gotten my business for years to come, in addition to all the word of mouth business I would have provided. Very bad business practice… too bad.

I’ve lived in Livermore for 5 years and everytime I go to the post office, there are tons of cars in their shop. I decided to swing by without an appointment to see if they could help me. I spoke with Mel about my situation and he was an angel. I told him I made the mistake of taking my car to the dealership (Nissan Dublin) where they proceeded to tell me that I had metal in my tires (they wouldn’t take it out). They wanted to charge me $ 70.00 per tire to patch them. Mel was shocked that they didn’t remove the metal for free and said he would take a look at it. Keep in mind that they were closing in an hour and they were booked for the next day. I was in a bind because I was leaving for Tahoe that weekend. When I came back, Mel explained there was no tire pressure issues and he had the metal in his hand for me to see. What a breath of fresh air this place is! All that and he only charged me $ 10.00! I will bring both my cars here from now on for all my repair needs. Thanks Mel!

Outstanding! Quality, honesty, and reasonable prices — it doesn’t get any better!

Excellent service, no hidden charges, no bait and switch. I take all my auto issues to them, and have come back satisfied every time.

I have had no complaints about this place.
From smog check to tune-​ups its great!
You do have to make an appointment but thats to make sure you get quality work done.
