Conceptions Reproductive Associates

Just spoke with the billing department due to an astronomical charge for a consultation that insurance ended up not covering. I explained that I was told my worst case out of pocket fee would be a $ 75 specialist fee and was sent a bill for nearly $ 300. I work in healthcare and I understand insurance is hard to estimate however $ 300 for a 10 min visit without an exam, X-​rays or anything other than a 10 min conversation with the Doctor is insane. I explained to the billing department that this charge was unethical and all I got was an apology… keep in mind I’ve already spent $ 500 on a test after this consultation which ended up not telling me anything! I tried to set up a follow up appointment with them to try and see what my next step would be and never got a call back from the nurse… it’s been several weeks since my test and still no phone call or email. Every time I call I have to leave a message and no one gets back to me. Also, when I went in for my test which I paid $ 500 for I didn’t even see the same Doctor that I met with for my consultation! I was very uncomfortable having a male doctor that is the main reason I picked dr ambler! I think Dr Ambler is probably a good doctor but between the billing and scheduling issues I will not be coming back as a patient. I truly feel very taken advantage of and still have no answers after spending $ 800 in your office. Thank You!

Conceptions threatened to sue me for my last review, if that gives you any idea of their customer service. I reported them to the BBB for their practices. I am still waiting on a refund they promised to me. I cannot recommend this clinic at all. My husband and I finally had success with the University of Colorado Advanced Reproductive Medicine Clinic, whose staff were caring, compassionate, and their services more affordable.
UPDATE: Within 24 hours of writing this, Conceptions’ lawyer has threatened me with a lawsuit for this review.

So far our experience has been great! For starters they actually answer their phones (what a concept). We have been working with a different, highly recommended, fertility clinic and I and my husband had both experienced the front desk not answering their phones, the phone would ring for 10+ minutes with no answer. When the nurse picked up at Conceptions she explained to my hubby that she was busy and would need to call him back within the hour. No problem. She called him back 15 minutes later and spent about 30 minutes with him asking him a bunch of questions and answering all his questions. He felt 100% more comfortable with Conceptions, as a posed to the other clinic. Our appointment is on the 18^th and we are seeing Dr. Swanson. We are very excited as we have been trying for over a year. I will keep everyone posted. But so far we have been very happy.

The price is worth it. IVF is expensive and these doctors are the best. They recommended the iui first for three cycles. The 900 $ nurse consult is a bit steep. The doctor was genuinely concerned and the nurses always available. If you are a person concerned about money then you need to consider something other than IVF. It’s not something to be cheap on because you will probably do more than one cycle. Thanks dr. Riggs.

I am thrilled with this clinic! We used Conceptions to conceive our second child with IUI. We used a different clinic for our first child so I already have an experience to compare this one to. The customer service at this place is amazing and the staff are very friendly. I had my original consultation with Dr. Ambler back in July and I felt she was very thorough and spent plenty of time with me. I didn’t feel rushed at all and never have with my appointments with her. The billing office checked my insurance for me ahead of time and was able to tell me what my insurance covered. I always received return calls & emails within a few short hours.
This clinic is very detail oriented and took a few extra steps than the last clinic did. I’m sure there are several factors involved but I was pregnant in 1 try this time vs. the 4 tries it took us last time at the other clinic. I’m sure the extra attention to detail helped plus it was such a warm friendly environment. I always felt that I was receiving the absolute best care possible and I never felt pressured into IVF like some of the other reviewers have said.
The waiting rooms are stocked with toys and children’s books for the kids. Tea, Coffee & water with lemon slices are provided for the adults and little bags of complementary caramel popcorn are available as well. It’s almost set up like a spa. On my last appointment before being transferred to my OB I was given a little gift bag with a Conceptions baby onesie, a pregnancy magazine, organic pregnancy tea, organic lip balm and a Babies R’ Us coupon. Every effort is made to make a potentially stressful situation pleasant. If we decide to have a 3^rd child we will definitely use Conceptions again. I couldn’t be more pleased with this place.

I was not pleased with my experience at this clinic, and though they are top rated I have also learned that it is not uncommon for any fertility clinic to pick more viable candidates for IVF to increase their percentage of success, therefore making them a top rated clinic.
I felt that that Dr. rushed us through our consultations and recommended IVF and IUI before even considering fertility drugs. We have been able to successfully get pregnant more than once. and have 1 beautiful 5 year old boy. We have since struggled and have successfuly gotten pregnant once but it was a non-​viable.
I felt like the consultation was fast paced and I left feeling emotional, not excited!
We ended up taking on 1 of 2 recommendations given to me by Dr Bush which was the IUI. When we went in for the procedure, they were about to inject the semen when the nurse realized I never had my ultra-​sound which is incredibly important prior to injection. She was shocked that the front didn’t schedule that into the appointment and told me if they didn’t have room then we’d have to try a different day. Are you kidding me!!! Also, prior to the appointment when making the payment they tried to charge me for the ultra-​sound which is covered by insurance until the first fertility treatment. I had triple checked on this before coming in, and though I WAS correct the lady on the front argued with me right there in front of the entire room. Not what you would expect when already nervous and emotional.
Lastly, I was able to conceive but it was another non-​viable. I went in for a D&C and signed up for the option to have the embryo checked. I never received the results and it wasn’t until almost a year later when I received some crazy bill for $ 3500 regarding this did I realize that they never called back to tell me that they were in and that they were interested in discussing those with me. I initially wasn’t interested in finding out because what was done was done, but they convinced me that it would only cost me $ 100 and it didn’t hurt to get it done. In the end, the results were in-​conclusive. Find another doctor!

IVF shop. They only care about your money. They don’t take care of underline cause of infertility first. I had an endometriosis and an endometrioma cyst on one of my ovaries. They did NOT care about getting rid of endometriosis instead they pushed us hard to do IVF and genetic test screen. This IVF shop only wants your $. These doctors don’t have good moral at all. Horrible doctors.

my egg donor was seen in this office… she said it was an OK facility so I will give it a star for that. Here is my major gripe: I called to set up the donor monitor months before the facility was needed and I always got «we will call you back» so finally its time for everything to start and I have not even heard from them. My donor was able to get seen on time with some pressure from her and the fertility clinic I was working with. So she does her stuff, she had 4 visits in one month. The facility kept hounding her for payment even after I filled out all the paperwork and sent it in. They are a donor facility and are supposed to know the process but whatever… every time she went in I would call to pay the bill and every time I called, the billing person was out of the office. She NEVER called me back. So for the next month AFTER the donor is done with her monitoring, I call wanting to know what I owe and pay it, no answers, no call backs, nothing. There is literally ONE person who knows everything and she is never in the office! I give up, I figure they will want my money at some point and call me… well, 2 months after I get a charge to my account for a large amount from this facility. I call, tell them it would have been nice to get a call first but they tell me I owe them money and I agreed to have it taken out so they took it out at their convenience. So I ask for a receipt and verify that this is the only payment I will be making. Yes, I am paid in full (they do not provide you with price breakdowns so you pay whatever whenever I guess). Fast forward another 3 months and I get a charge on my account again for an even larger amount! I call and they tell me there was a glitch in the system and it didn’t charge me what I owed… really?! So again, no call, no warning, nothing… I’m not poor and I pay my bills but its a little shock to the system when large amounts of money are pulled out of my account with no warning. COMMUNICATION not in the vocabulary with this facility and being that I don’t even know what I paid for no mater how many times I ask, I don’t even know if I am done with them. What if there is another glitch?!

TMI alert. This is a reco for an ob/​gyn practice after all!
I recently found out that I had 5 noncancerous fibroid tumors attached to my uterus. They were eff-​ing giant. One the size of a softball, one baseball, one golf ball and 2 marbles. (Side note: When you go to a dude gyn, you get sports analogies. Female gyns say grapefruit, orange, etc… Just thought that was amusing.)
Basically, I was full of fibroids and I needed to have surgery to remove them. Now I am 35 years old and I haven’t quite… well…gotten around to any babymaking. But I’d like to keep my old as dirt options open. My primary ob/​gyn doctor recommended Dr. Mark Bush for the surgery. He felt that he would do a great job on the surgery and be looking out for my uterus in the process.
I’ll cut to the chase. Surgery went great. Fibroids are gone. Uterus is fully intact. Dr. Bush did a great job.
Point being… I would consider checking out this practice if you have problems with your ladyparts or babymaker. They might be able to help you out.
