$ 8 for eyebrow threading? You have to be kidding me. I’ve had two shitty experiences at this place. First time I came here I decided to try chocolate wax(I didn’t break out. If you have sensitive skin you should try it). While I was waiting for her to put the wax on, she crept up behind me and accidently dropped some HOT wax in my eye. Burned so bad! I was so afraid I would go blind. Did the lady care? No, not at all. She was like«oh dont worry this happened to me before.» Yeah. Oh and she tried to charge me. Sorry, thats never going to happen. Swore I would never go back. … About to leave for the airport and I take one look at my hairy Armenian eyebrows and panic. Ughhhh there’s only one local spot by my house. What does a girl do? Risk losing her vision? or go about her vacation with bushy eyebrows??? Neither. I’ll thread my eyebrows, this way there’s no risk involved. So the eyebrows look great. I’m about to leave and thats when she points out my upper lip. «So hairy, are you sure you dont want me to thread it.» I just waxed that a week ago, there’s no way it grew back already! Wait. I’m Armenian, ofcourse it did. I can barely handle threading my eyebrows, there’s no way I can deal with the upper lip pain. I took one look at her and said«wax it.» I’m sitting there with my eyes shut and I hear«oh nooooo.» YUP. Chocolate wax on my white blouse. Crap. So why give two stars? well she actually paid for my dry cleaning. You have been warned.

I stopped in two days ago to get my brows and lip done. I figured that I should finally check out a threading place outside of Manhattan for convenience’s sake. I called beforehand to find out that it’s $ 8 for brows and $ 5 for lip – not too shabby at all. I walk in, and it’s a pretty calming atmosphere… quiet, with traditional Indian music filling the background. And because it’s in the ‘burbs, it’s a larger space than I expected. It seems to be clean and well maintained, with rooms marked off for waxing, etc. The bathroom didn’t have any paper towels, but no biggie because one of the ladies handed me one when I asked. Before she started I told her that I really didn’t want them too thin and that usually whoever does my brows shapes the left one noticeably higher than the right, and that instead I want them as even as possible. When she was done looking, she told me to take a look, and I was shocked that she’d actually listened! In fact, I asked her to take a little more off here and there, which was done by the other older lady. You’ll get a business card giving you free threading after going five times. I definitely will go back, which for me is saying a lot. It’s the first time I’ve ever been satisfied after threading. Yea!
