I have been sealcoating driveways and parking lots for almost a decade. I started seal coating when I was in college. After graduating from Northern Illinois University I continued sealcoating part-​time on the weekends with the same asphalt sealcoating company I had been with for 9 years. Even though I worked my regular job during the week I continued sealcoating on weekends because I enjoyed the work so much. Eventually I decided that pavement sealcoating is all I wanted to do so I started Big Joe’s Sealcoating. Now I sealcoat driveways and parking lots all the time and to be honest, I have never enjoyed any type of work as much as I enjoy asphalt sealcoating.

First time using these guys and it will be the first of many. They communicated well, cancelled because of impending rain (smart) and came as rescheduled and did a professionally great job. They are cheaper than the one I had been using and in my opinion, do a better job. Friendly crew and since we share a driveway, did a great job in stringing it to keep cars off. Wonderful. Use them!

We won’t use anyone else after our Big Joe’s experience. They communicated through the process, from quote through completing the job. On site workers were friendly and did fantastic work. They edged before putting down the coat and there was not a stray drop of sealant to be found anywhere. Job well done!

We moved into our house over 4 years ago and the asphalt needed to be re-​sealed then. Well… we finally got around to it this past August. I called a a few different places for quotes, but 1) Adam (the co-​owner?) called me back and got me a quote within a couple of days and 2) the price was right. They worked on the driveway when my husband and I weren’t home, which is fine. They cleaned up the driveway and cut down the grass next to it. They patched up a spot and sealed the rest of the driveway. The driveway is pretty worn down to start with, so it looked as good as it was going to get, however, I noticed the workers left a mess in my backyard, which is next to the driveway (they don’t go into backyards because of animals and such), and left a couple of new patches to fix. I called Adam and told him my issues and they came back the next week and cleaned up the backyard and fixed the patches, free of charge. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with Big Joe’s Sealcoating.

I don’t know why anyone would use anybody else when these guys are around.
The attention to detail was meticulous.
1) They actually check the weather and they didn’t come until they knew that there would be no rain. Amazingly, the sun came out when they showed up.
2) They took a weedwacker to the edges of the driveway so they could seal coat the edges properly. They explained that that’s where the driveway starts breaking up first.
3) They left without leaving a mess.

Very thorough, polite staff. Two guys came and broom cleaned and then blowed the entire driveway. They then used a flat broom to apply the product — slowly and thoroughly. I’ve been through a few of these to know that these guys do quality work. Great job!

Best sealcoating service I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a couple. They showed up on time and didn’t get any sealer on the brick sidewalk by the driveway (which has been a problem in the past). Dan was really nice when he knocked on the door and gave me time to move both the cars.
They did get some sealer on the sidewalk, but when I called to complain Adam said he’d come right out to take care of it, I was surprised he did so quickly.

This is a great outfit. It isn’t a «spray and go» sealcoating like so many of them out there are. The driveway is prepared by weedwhacking any weeds coming through, crackfilling, and potholes are patched. Then the sealcoating is brushed on neatly. It is a bit more expensive than the «spray and go» that I have used in the past, but well worth the extra cost!

I finally found a sealcoating company that takes pride in their work. I had many questions from years of bad experiences. However, Adam answered all my questions and I scheduled the work when I was going to be home to oversee the work being done. The weather cooperated and the crew was professional and tidy. The driveway still looks great after two months, so I feel that a quality product was used. I will be calling BJS next year.

Excellent communication, they watch the weather and will let you know that they are not doing the job if rain coming so you get a better seal to the drive way-​clean. They do not use a watered down seal-​good quality and really made the drive look excellent-​Strongly Recommend 5-​stars for this service.
