Done right made my move to my new condo very easy and affordable! the team came right on time, packed all my stuff and moved everything in no time while being very friendly and professional, very pleasant experience and they charged me exactly what they quoted me!

The movers were great. They finished the job in less time than we were quoted which included a stop at a storage unit between condo and house. They did a great job wrapping up and protecting the furniture, and took apart/​put together a bed quickly and just where we wanted it. They arrived early to get started and arrived at the storage unit promptly. I will definitely be using them again.

The guys that moved us were great! They did it in a little under the estimated time and they were all super nice and respectful and careful of our things! Great experience and all very nice people from the receptionists to the movers. :) Will definitely be using them again for my next move. Very reasonable prices as well!

Used them to move from a townhome to a ranch house, they were super efficient, handled our furniture with care, and respected our time. They also accept credit cards! Prices are very reasonable. There was no damage to any of my furniture and they were extremely fast and professional.
The only negative is there was a mix up in communication. When I reserved a date, I put in $ 100 deposit. But the movers didn’t know about so was charged full amount. Luckily I was able to get that refund back when I called the next day. I thought I would put a fight but it was easy enough.
I’ll use them again.

My first review ever but definitely needed… I called four days before my move for labor to load our POD for a long distance move. Not only was the quote amazing, but they were able to schedule me for the day and time needed. We only had two hours to move our two bedroom townhouse out due to Chicago street codes (the POD had to be parked on the street) and the three movers finished the entire place in 1 hour and 45 minutes. They were AMAZING and incredibly effective and nice. They literally Jenga’ed the entire place without an inch to spare. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

I had Done Right move my stuff into their storage facility and store it for me for a year.
The move out of my place was fine. The movers were prompt, but the only big problem was that I had a small kitchen island that they thought was part of the apartment. At the end, I asked when they would load that item, and they said that they couldn’t reload the truck. I said I needed it (it was worth $ 200). They said they could not put it in the truck, so I had to leave it there. The guy, Wilmer, was a jerk.
I left the country for a year, and my stuff was safe in their storage. Nothing was missing. When the movers came to drop it off at my new place, they were excellent, efficient, and wonderful.
But so much was broken! My iron coat rack had been demolished. My cello, an expensive instrument, had been packed and stored inside my couch, causing permanent damage to the couch and ruining the instrument. My upholstered chair had obviously been stored squished next to something all year, causing a permanent crease in it. My computer monitor, packed in its original box with foam, no longer plays sound. I have pieces of furniture that have chunks missing from them, glassware broken, etc. The movers were obviously not trained how to pack furniture for storage.
I have moved cross country, put things in storage for months, and moved numerous times, and I have never had my property ruined. The movers were fine, the storage was horrible. I followed up with the insurance company that they provide, and after it takes over two months for them to process your claim. You have to pay for furniture repair estimates yourself, must send the envelope certified mail, must send photos (nothing can be done online), and then get the claim notarized before mailing it in. I will receive $ 72 for all of the damage they caused, and if you deduct the cost of developing the photos, certified mail, all of the time I spent putting the claim together, and the notary, it’s even more pathetic.
Done Right moving did thousands of dollars of damage to my belongings. I do not suggest having them store your things.

From the first call to get an estimate to shaking their hands at the end of the job, Done Right was a class act. They called the day before to make sure we were still on. The day of, they were right on time. I ordered 2 trucks and 4 guys to move 25′ and 15′ storage units to my house. Both units were full. They had everything loaded in 1:20. That’s right in an hour and 20 minutes. Their careful hustle was incredible. They took the time to assess what I had and plan their attack. They listened to my concerns about delicate and breakable things and boxed or wrapped accordingly. They ran as a team, like a well oiled machine. They were all smiles, helping each other, selfless for the team and customer. Will was in the truck and was unbelievable. After the 1-​hour drive to the house, they got everything unloaded in 2 hours. They asked, listened and took direction on where things went. They were respectful and didn’t ding any walls. So far, we haven’t found anything broken. They cleaned up everything. Done Right was a great value. I will hire this crew again.

I had a great experience with the crew sent for my move last Friday. They showed up at 830am — 30 minutes early — wanting to get started immediately. All three — Ash, Lamont, and Antonio — were friendly and careful with my items. They had to take everything down two flights of stairs and then up another two flights at my new place, but just kept moving to get the job done despite the heat (85* or so). I have a lot of larger items (queen bed, oversized couch, elliptical machine, oversized desk) that had to go up a narrow, cement staircase at the new apartment, but they handled everything without a problem or complaint.
I was amazed that they just kept hauling ass; we asked if they were taking a lunch break between apartments (which we would totally understand as they had been unloading the old place for nearly four hours and it was now 12:30pm). They said no, they wanted to just keep moving. I supplied cold water bottles throughout the move and some snacks for their trip out because I truly appreciated the big effort they put into keeping things going.
I also appreciated that they followed direction from the boxes on where things would go, remembered where items came from and where they went in the new place (i.e. desk was in old bedroom, so they placed it in the new one without question), and only had to ask a few times where specific items should go then placed it exactly where I stated.
My only negative is that the move took twice as long as I was quoted and had anticipated (thus costing twice as much), but I know a lot of time was taken with wrapping my furniture. The forecast called for rain, so I wanted to protect my items … it never did rain, but I appreciate how carefully they wrapped my things so that even when they were in the truck, everything stayed clean.
In the end, I was completely satisfied with the whole situation. Moving is stressful, and this was my first big move with hired movers, so I was more tense and anticipating problems since I wasn’t in control of it myself. I would gladly recommend the team that served me. Ash, Lamont, and Antonio were grand professionals!

Very happy with their services. They arrived promptly on schedule, and got the move done in the time we expected. There was a delay when they were driving their truck to our new place, but we did not get charged for the additional time. Would definitely recommend if you need professional and polite movers (and a truck) in the Chicago area.

Done Right was recommended to me by a friend. My experience began with a very helpful and easy quote process. Kimmie answered all my questions and didn’t pressure me to book right away like other moving companies I was getting quotes from. I didn’t know if my move was going to be a one or two day move (Done Right also provides overnight storage, unlike most moving companies) and she assured me they do last minute moves all the time and to let them know as soon as I found out. She also provided me with the cheapest quote.
I ended up with a one day move, although I had to be out of my place at 1:00 and couldn’t get into my new place till 1:00 but they assured me they would make it work.
It ended up I could get into my new place earlier and the day of the move I received a call from Done Right saying there is a crew in my area and asking if I could be ready an hour early which worked out great. The crew was very quick and efficient. My move got done in 2.5 hours and came in at $ 400 for a one bedroom (with tip). All my belongings were treated with care and as it started to rain, the crew chief put down blankets on the floor of my new place so the movers wouldn’t track in any mud. They were also super efficient, carrying 7 –8 boxes at a time. (see photo)
I really hope not to move anytime soon again but when I do, I’m calling these guys.

The movers were fast and efficient. When we unpacked we realized the TV was cracked. We called and within hours they had shipped us a brand new TV. Excellent customer service. Highly recommended!

While they were very efficient they were also very careless. They ruined two of my lamp shades and left trash — rolls of tape, hangers, food wrappers, bubble wrap — on the ground in front of, and behind, our house for all of our new neighbors to step over and complain about. They tracked snow and salt throughout the house and made no efforts whatsoever to clean up after themselves. Will definitely never use this company again.

The Manager called me to follow-​up with the issues that we experienced with Done Right. They took multiple steps to rectify the situation including offering to fix the damaged items and sending me a credit of sorts.
It was impressive that the management was proactive in seeking to resolve my underwhelming experience with the crew we were given. This shows promise.

Save yourselves some time an find a different moving company.
This review is for a move made on September 1, 2013.
My roommate and I were moving from a 2 bedroom to another 2 bedroom. I told the representative that we were on the third floor, and moving into a 2^nd floor, also a walkup. She told me 3 – 5 hours is the usual time it takes to move a 2 bedroom. I explained everything that we had, and she said that since we don’t have so much, it should be closer to 3 – 4 hours. She was very courteous, explained what boxes and tape we would receive for free, the $ 63 travel charge, gave me an estimate and all was set.
Day of the Move:
Shawn and his three guys arrive. Now the three guys he came with were very courteous, hard-​working, and I made sure to tip them well. The foreman, Shawn, however, was a different story. He did a walk-​through with me, exclaimed, «You guys don’t have that much stuff!» I had already moved some of our boxes and chairs, smaller items to the garage so it would be easier for them to access, it was mainly just couches, beds, and boxes left upstairs, and my dresses and other boxes in the basement storage. He then proceeds to tell me the move will take SEVEN hours. Of course, I’m flabbergasted, since I was quoted half that time, and he had just said we didn’t have that much stuff. When I explained that to him, he told me he hears the SAME STORY each time and that I can call customer service, that the 3 – 4 hours I quoted was a minimum, not a maximum. He mentions we’re on the 3^rd floor too, which I told him I disclosed during the consultation. He then goes on to criticize me for thinking that they can move the apartment in 3 – 4 hours when the cleaning lady I was on the phone with said she would clean in 4 – 5 hours. UM I don’t know how much it takes to move or clean, I just accept quotes and think that’s a reasonable estimate.
I freak out, start busting my ass to help move whatever I can to cut down on the move time since I’m not made of money.
The move ends up taking 4 hours, thank God, but there were $ 100 in packaging materials, which I wish had been explained in the original consultation call.
My problem is with the overall lack of clear communication and bad customer service. As I’m reading over the charges and contract the foreman says to me at 3:36 PM: «The longer it takes you to sign this, the more I’m going to charge you. I’m billing this to 3:45 now, but if you take longer, I’m going to change it and bill you to 4:00 PM.» Like I would really take over 10 minutes to read over the charges? I just thought it was rude to have to say that when I still had ten minutes on the clock.
Plus he showed up at 11:38 and tried to start billing me at 11:30.
Overall, it just seemed like they tried to squeeze me of every drop they could. I called customer service again to give my feedback on Monday, was told I would receive a call back later that day or Tuesday, but nothing. Called back on Wednesday, was told I’d get followup later that day, and still nothing.
I wanted to give them a chance to improve this rating, but sadly I won’t be able to recommend Done Right Moving to anyone else.

These guys were AMAZING. We moved 2 different apartments into one bedroom (in a high rise) and it was done in about 3.5 hours. They were efficent, helpful, and cared for our items.

I have moved 11 times in 11 years, and this was the best moving experience I’ve had yet. I’ve had good movers, and I’ve had bad movers, but these guys were awesome.
First of all, the company was very professional. They called two days before the moving date, which I put my mind at ease.
Two days later, Bernardo and his crew showed up on time (8am) and moved our second story 3-​bedroom apartment in less than two hours. We have a lot of stuff, but they were very professional, wrapping everything that needed to be wrapped, asking about specific items, etc.
We then traveled 40 minutes away to Naperville, where they moved us into our new house in about 90 minutes. They asked my wife about where to put each piece of furniture and each box. The entire thing was very affordable ($ 600+tip) considering the amount of work they had to do.
Two years ago, i used a major moving company in Chicago, and it was a complete disaster. I feel like moving is one of those things that you don’t want to mess around with. In that case, i would definitely recommend Done Right Moving.

DRM arrived right on time. They packed/​loaded my 1 bedroom apt leas than an hour. They went to my gf’s 1 bedroom apt and packed/​loaded her 1 bedroom apt less than an hour. They unloaded both of us in 2 hours.

This is the second time I have moved with movers, the first time I used Done Right. I wanted to hire them when I moved last year, but because I’m a procrastinator and because I was also moving on the first, they were booked. This year I moved mid-​month and called early, so they were able to book me the time I wanted.
The three guys that showed up were in great moods and took care with all of my stuff. I had to be a little careful, because they wanted to start moving my roommates stuff out with mine! But I kind of stationed myself in a good spot and was able to tell them what needed to be moved. My biggest concern in the move was a very large, very heavy, and very valuable desk. But they treated it with care. I also wrote «DO NOT DROP» on all the boxes that had fragile things in them, but I was watching them as they loaded the truck, and they didn’t drop a single box – marked or not.
The only weird part of the experience is that the foreman texted me afterward and asked me if he could call me sometime… flattering, I guess? But a little weird. Still, all my stuff is intact, and it’s the easiest move I’ve had by far. It was also a little less than they quoted me, so that’s always a good thing!
