They had the best quote right off the bat! And even when they had to modify it to add an extra man, it was for our best interest. From Natalie who quoted me to Matt who was the main mover and driver — everyone I encountered was professional, knowledgeable and best of all, courteous! Matt was very good at quoting us once we arrived at the destination. Thank you! You are on our list of preferred businesses to use for any future needs!

Thieves. They don’t honor their quoted price. What they do is hold all your bedroom furniture ransom until you pay them more money. They say there are more boxes than what they quoted and they want another $ 400 or so. They make you run to the cash station for cash. Did this to me and a friend of mine within 3 months of each other.

I used Advanced moving and storage to move my furniture out of my house when I was having my hardwood floors installed. They also came back to put all of my furniture back. They did a great job! Not one scratch on my new floor. From the office staff to the movers this company was very professional. The movers were considerate and careful. I will recommend Advanced to my freinds and family.

BBB got involved and «Advanced» moving said twice that they were going to put together something to take care of our issues, they never did. BBB finally said there was nothing more they could do and suggested that I take legal action.
Please don’t trust this company even with the smallest move.

WORST moving experience imaginable! NEVER use Advanced if you want your belongings moved in one piece!
So, first off, on moving day the crew was over an hour late on an hour arrival window. They arrived with the 3-​man crew in which there was only one mover who really had any experience. The first piece they took out of my old home (a dining room hutch) they wrapped and taped, and then immediately broke the mirrored back and wooden back on a stair railing before even getting it out the door. The foreman called the office and was told to tell me that they would have it repaired and returned to me. The remainder of the move went just as poorly. They damaged a desk that I broke down and got ready for them, broke a vertical blind in my old home moving stuff and tried to hide it from me. I actually had to help them move out the couches because they were too inexperienced to get the things out without help. Then at the new home, they would not even let me SEE the additional damage until I paid for the move IN FULL in cash. After arguing with Sue at their office who THEN said they would send someone out to repair the hutch (and she is a liar in all aspects of the word), I reluctantly paid the cash as they were holding my belongings hostage. When they moved my belongings into the new home, they refused to assemble my bed (which it stated in the contract they would do) Their movers kept insulting me and muttering things under their breath when I complained about the terrible job they were doing. At the end of the move I was speaking to the foreman and one of the other movers verbally confronted me and then even lunged at me and had to be restrained by the foreman. After they left, I noticed that their truck leaked oil all over my driveway as well. I followed their claims procedure and got a check for less than HALF what the damages were that their crew caused to my belongings. So needless to say, the next call I make will be to an attorney. If I could give them ZERO stars I would, but PLEASE heed my warning and NEVER, EVER use Advanced for ANY of your moving needs IF you want your belonging in decent shape on the back end!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!! And whatever you do, do not pay in advance because you will be ready to fire them before the job is done. Also, I’m hoping they don’t hold my stuff hostage for more cash, as has been reported by previous Unilocal reviewers! The movers have just arrived (4 hours later than scheduled), and apparently I will be without my stuff for AT LEAST 14 days? (Also much later than the original scheduled)
They’ll get your business, money, and put you in a time crunch until there’s literally no option besides moving forward with using them. It’s complete BS. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!

The only reason I’m giving one star is because I can’t give a negative number… CAUTION! Do not use this Co. They are a bait and switch dishonest co. We got so much stuff stolen, damaged, and late on delivery, and they don’t care. Period! I can’t believe this this Co actually has some references that like them! They must pay them off!!! We will be in court a long time making them pay for this horrible exp!!! Terrible!!!

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I work with Susan and Sue and they are both so great at what they do. I would indeed recommend this moving company to anyone who needs to move their household items. They are great with communication and always keep you on tabs with what’s going on every step of the way. Thanks girls for making my experience so great!

NONONONONONONONO!!! Run do not walk to another mover. If Unilocal offered a no-​star option I would use it.
The average 3 star review on Unilocal led me to give Advanced a try. I have experienced some horrific moves but this one was the worst. Sue in the office seemed very professional and their estimate of 3 guys, 5 hours, $ 875 total seemed very reasonable for our 930 square foot 1 bedroom + tiny nursery condo. We also decided to rent crates instead of getting boxes and that was included in the quote. Stephen delivered the crates almost an hour late on the scheduled date a week before the move. This was almost a serious problem as our condo is very strict about time windows for reserving the freight elevator. I called Sue several times and she said she would call Stephen, and that he would call me, but neither call happened.
Skip to our moving morning and the guys were on time, dealt with our condo staff politely, and then proceeded to take OVER 5 HOURS to load our furniture, crates (stacked on wheeled dollies) & maybe 5 boxes onto the truck. And my husband worked with them the whole time so they really had a 4 man crew!!! Our move was not over until 8pm. It was awful. And while furniture assembly is included in the cost they didn’t have time to assemble our furniture because they were seriously late for another job. I have no idea how Sue could have so grossly underestimated the time and muscle needed for our move. According to my husband, 2 of our 3 movers were also really inexperienced & from the few hours I spent with them it seemed like my husband directed not only where things should go but how they should get there & basically project managed the move with the 3 movers following his lead.
The cherry on this crap sundae was that Sue called the Monday following our Saturday move & claimed that we hadn’t paid the $ 124 for the crate rental, and that they wouldn’t pick up the crates unless we paid it — meaning we would accrue more charges from the outfit that rented Advanced the crates. Arguing about the foregoing did NOTHING to change her mind. So we had to pay it. Basically, STAY AWAY. If anything goes wrong with your move, its your problem in Advanced’s world.

My review is a composite of 2 experiences I’ve had with this company.
The first: (a year ago)
We were moving most of our stuff from a first floor greystone in Chicago out to their storage facility in the burbs on a fairly pleasant July day. It was warm, but not the kind of butt-​drenching sweat that one can expect in the middle of a Chicago summer.
The movers were basically on time, but that was about the only positive to the whole experience. From there, they were slow, they complained, were relatively disorganized in their moving methods (i.e. didn’t really know how to deal with moving a large wardrobe out and down 5 steps). I tried to pitch in to speed things along (we were being charged by the hour after all) and was told to «relax, we’ll take care of it». All in all, with a quick stop to drop off a few furniture pieces at our new residence, and with unloading at the storage facility, I was out a hefty chunk of change, as well as having a fairly damaged wardrobe. Moreover, my experience at the storage facility was less than sparkling. The staff was somewhat rude, and I was told I was not allowed to move any of my own things given that it was a liability for them. I told them I would sign a waiver or whatever, because I wasn’t okay with how slowly things were going and I wanted to speed things up (again, hourly charges here). This experience made me hate moving even more than I already do, if that was even possible. I would give it less than 1 star if Unilocal allowed.
The second: (today)
As you can imagine, I had some major apprehensions working with this company again. Given that the majority of our items were in their storage facility, working with them was certainly the most convenient option. After a fair amount of convincing from the office manager, Sue, that things are different now than they were a year ago, as well as a competitive quote that was better than other companies, I decided to work with them again.
Today, we moved back to the city from the burbs, removing all of our items from the storage facility, as well as some large pieces of furniture from our current residence. The truck was here exactly when we were told it would be. The movers were efficient, courteous, and well organized. The monster wardrobe that was such a hassle a year ago was still a difficult piece to move, but they managed moving it up an entire flight of steep stairs without causing additional damage. Also, the company will be sending out their furniture repairman to fix whatever damage exists on the wardrobe at no charge to us. The move finished exactly on time, so we didn’t incur any additional charges. All-​in-​all, I was very pleased both with my correspondence with the office staff, as well as working with their movers. There was an obvious attention to the details this time around, and I felt very well taken care of as a customer. Overall, I would give them 4 or 5 stars for the experience.
I realize this is a long review, but it’s been something of a saga with this company. At the end of it, I’m very glad things turned out as well as they have and I wanted to be sure I shared that perspective.
