After reading the reviews I was quite sure this would be some great Greek food… not so much, at all. The gyro was so-so. The meat, ok, but the toppings were such a disappointment! A not-so-fresh tomato slice with a matching onion slice, way too little sauce, no cheese… lots of iceberg lettuce though. My side of squash: over. cooked. Hummus: not a creamy hummus with authentic flavor of garlic, tahini, lemon… just not so tasty. Tabouli=not fresh! It was browning and super salty with large sprigs of wilty parsley. Tabouli should be bright and fresh with visual and taste appeal. The desserts were alright, on the dry side. I know this is quite the rant, I’m just being totally honest. The food could be stepped up a bit. Dice up the tomatoes, add fresh onion, more tzatziki, include feta… keep it fresh!

We don’t have a lot of Greek restaurants in Lincoln Nebraska there is one reason for that: the Parthenon Really when you have the best why do you need others? And I don’t care where you’re from this is such a great restaurant! Not only can you get classic Greek dishes Chef John is always coming up with new unique things or takes on the standard fare. This place is owned by people with Greek heritage who know what they’re doing and have been in the restaurant business for a long long time This is a great place to entertain people sometimes they have live entertainment such as International music performances there is an awesome bar with unique cocktail concoctions and varied seating areas for intimacy or community Why would you not come here? I have no idea It’s All Greek To Me

We came here for our anniversary and we were extremely satisfied with the dining experience. Our waiter Allen gave us a flawless rundown of the special dishes for that night, and provided us with great recommendations. My husband got the Mousaka and I got the gyro plate with greek salad. The meals were largely portioned and amazingly flavorful. Greek salad for extra 2 bucks was totally worth it, as it is large enough to be a healthy appetizer for two. I would say gyro could have been a bit less salty but overall, considering how picky we are of restaurant meals, we were definitely satisfied. Oh and the broccoli with hazelnut sauce drizzled was so savory and novel! Ambience, service, food, and price all combined, I would say we are definitely coming back for more:) We felt like we were treated as if we were the only guests at the restaurant, and that is hard to find even in fine dining.

Wait staff was wonderful. They knew their stuff. This was first non-fast food Greek restaurant we have been to in Nebraska. Since it was out first visit we went with the basic, Greek platter. We had the Greek potatoes and broccoli as sides. Was a little disappointed that the dinner didn’t come with salad and choice of two sides. Other Greek restaraunt we have been to in other states a salad is always included. With that said the broccoli was a nice replacement for a salad. The Greek potato was also very good. The gyro was average. The meat itself was on the plain side. Greek food is usually full of flavor and lots of spices but the meat was lacking for us. It was very good when mixed with pita, lettuce, onion, tomato, and cucumber sauce. Over all it was a nice meal. Little pricey when you can get about the same thing downtown at the fast food Greek places for a little cheaper. I would like to say we would go back but we probably won’t.

I was so excited to try this place, but it did not come even close to the glowing reviews I have seen. We ordered the flaming cheese, which was featured on many reviews and found it barely edible. There were two specials last night and we each tried one. Neither of us were even able to eat a quarter of our food, it was all overcooked and the flavors were mediocre at best. I’m pretty bummed, but hopefully this experience is the exception and not the rule.

My first experience here was a good one. Got the stuffed salmon and that was delicious! The sides weren’t the best but the desert options make this experience worth coming back for. You can’t find many places in Lincoln with seafood this good and for a decent price. Will be back soon!

I crave the Dolmathas! Fabulous salmon and Alaskan sole dishes. You will never leave hungry. The live music and knowledgable staff make for a welcome dining experience! Curb-side carry out as well!

Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Our waitress was extremely attentive and had lots of good recommendations on what food to try. Each meal we ordered was a large portion and came with generous side dishes and lots of pita bread! This is the third time I’ve been & I’ve had a pleasant experience each. Make sure you order the baklava!

Seafood Risotto was on special! It was amazing. Greek salad was the best I’ve had. Crab and artichoke dip was yummy. Everything was spectacular!

This was the best meal I’ve had in a while! Wow! We took the waitress recommendation and had a crab dip to start with, it was absolutely amazing! Then I had a Greek salad which was awesome as well, it had real feta on it(not the cheap stuff you get in the store). For my main course I had a seafood risotto that was on their specials. It was so good I’m going to dream about it for months. On top of everything the service was awesome! I have no complaints about this place!

Been here quite a few times. Love the Dolmathes and the Orzo stuffed peppers. Could eat the hummus and pita bread as a meal itself. The baklava ice cream is amazing. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow. About the only place to find good Greek food in the area.

Our food was GREAT! The staff was really helpful, and the portions were huge – definitely share worthy. The gyros platter, Greek salad, and vegetarian pastitsio were delicious. Loved the lemony Greek potatoes, and the saganaki was melty and crispy and delicious. Extra charge for the pita might be my only complaint. Go alone, with family, with groups – just go! Although I am saying $$, you can get by on the low side very easily and the portions are so big you could split the bill!

Came in here a couple weeks ago for the first time and was really pleased. I’ve seen the chain a few different places but never had the opportunity to try it. The restaurant has a really cute feel to it with an intimate atmosphere and adorably decorated. We were here on a weekday around dinner time and were seated and our order taken quickly. The menu has a lot of good options and it made it hard to choose, so obviously I’ll just have to be back to nom again sometime soon! We decided to go with the mussels appetizer in a white wine sauce which was good but the type of mussels they had were quite a bit smaller than I’m used to, must have been a different type of mussel, but they were still good. The seafood souvlaki was awesome and the lamb shank had unbelievable flavor. There are a lot of gluten free options and I had plenty to choose from. Food quality and quantity were good, price affordable, and service excellent. I’ll be back for future noming.

I felt like I need to update my review, since in our experience it seems like Parthenon has slipped the last couple times we have been. Went tonight and tried the calamari as an appetizer. The breading had good flavor, but crumbled off the second you touched it and all we were left with were plain pieces of rubbery calamari that were hard to chew. I tried the moussaka, which was ok but the top was very burned in some places as was the bottom, so I ended up not being able to eat 1⁄3 of it. The slaw I had as one of my sides had so much vinegar that it was completely inedible. My boyfriend’s side of zucchini had so many tomatoes it should have just been called pasta sauce. The good news was that the gyro was great as always. I think from now on we’ll just stick to gyros and fries.

I am certainly no expert on Greek food. But I know what I like. The Parthenon has consistently amazing food and superior service. Not only that but they regularly offer different and unusual cuisine outside of what you would consider«Greek.» The wait staff will usually take the time to chat with you and make you feel like you are family. Stopped in today and had the beef souvlaki on rice with fried Zucchini fingers. For an apetizer I had the Potato Zucchini soup. All was delicious. One of my favorite restraunts in town. I just wish it was closer. Give them a try. OPA!

To be honest I sort of knew what to expect. They cater every week at work. The food is good and lots of it. I get the gyros at work and they are loaded with meat and come with a huge salad. We opted for a slightly different menu. The pita break was super fresh and so good, a great start was the humus sampler. The entrees were very good too. The service was also good. Overall a great place for taste, value, and service.

From Unilocal: Best Greek Restaurant in Lincoln. They know how to do Greek food, and the atmosphere and menu is full of good options. My personal favorite is the lamb suouvlaki. It is perfectly seasoned and very tasty. For an appetizer you really want to try the Saganaki, it is a large piece of cheese they set on fire. Very cool presentation and tastes great. Their gyro entrée is also very good with homemade tzatziki sauce(mix of yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, sault, olive oil, lemon juice and dill.) The flavor is great and the pita bread is excellent. They tend to put to much dressings on their salads so you may want to tell them to go easy on their dressing or have it on the side and add it yourself. For dessert they have a ton of great options like Baklava, melomakarona cookies, and other assorted cakes and pastries that have a combination of honey, nuts, chocolates, and cakes. You could probably eat something different over 15 different visits and enjoy them all. They also cater, and I have used them to cater a few events and they always do a nice job.
