Whiskers Resort

Staff is positive and treats each dog like their special guest. Most importantly, our Shiloh, who is a little timid, brightens right up in anticipation whenever we make the turn into Whiskers. Shiloh seems to forget who we are when it’s time to come home, and doesn’t want to leave «doggie camp.»

I’d like to preface this review by saying that I did not stay at Whisters Resort myself. However, my dog, Marilyn, promptly forgot my name when we dropped her off, and ran straight for the swimming pool. She cried when we left (with a puppy cookie). She says she can’t wait until mom and dad go on vacation so she can come back.

I would definitely recommend whiskers pet resort. I feel so comfortable leaving my now 9 month old black Labrador. We started leaving tank there about 3 months ago. if we decide to have a stay cation or go to the mainland, we never have to worry about our little guy. Tank gets so excited when I make the turn into whiskers. He knows he gets to play with furry friends. Whiskers they takes good care of our little guy.

Whiskers is the best place for your pets! They’ve taken awesome care of our dog for the last two years since we found them. It may seem pricey, especially for daycare, but if you buy in bulk it’ll save you money. Our dog is totally in love with all the people here, which is saying a lot because he hates people elsewhere, haha! Excellent grooming, excellent staff, excellent service all around. We love you whiskers! Simon agrees. Woof woof!

First time for my two boys, Andy geriatric Lab and Pluto 23 lb terrier mix and rescue dog. This was a first boarding for Pluto and he came home after a week exhausted. Pluto has trust issues but reports said he was happily playing with the other dogs and adjusted just fine. Andy, my old man has a tendency to injure himself if he plays to hard or long, but he came home in good condition, no injuries.
The facilities are clean, secure and the boys came home flea and tick free, which was a concern. They’re meticulous about vetting all the boarders for inoculations and flea/​tick prevention which has paid off and made me feel better that my boys would remain healthy. We will be using Whiskers again, very soon and I’m confident my boys will be well taken care of.

The staff at Whiskers often loves our dogs more than we do! Everyone remembers them by name, they take extra special care EVERY time our dogs are there, and they provide an invaluable service. We have two dogs, one of whom cannot be left for any length of time without being crated or getting into trouble. We always know that doggie daycare at Whiskers will provide an outlet for energy to be run-​off and that care will be taken. When we are away from home, we feel safe with our dogs at Whiskers. It’s worth the drive! (Save money and time by getting a daycare punch card and it helps commit to your animal getting more exercise than he/​she would on the couch.)

When I lived on Kauai & went on vacation to other islands or the mainland, I LOVED having my two Labradors stay at Whisker’s Resort! The personnel are so professional and extremely knowledgeable about caring for animals. I was truly impressed that there are very large play areas, water features, and plenty of comfortable shade areas too. Even dog-​friendly sofas, calming classical music, and even TV!
I had my dogs groomed just before pick-​up so that was lovely to see how well they looked, and even their nails were trimmed and filed perfectly. I was impressed to see that the handlers take great care and time when introducing the new dog (s) to the other dogs, and I loved how the dogs were separated into small and larger groups so as to not intimidate the wee dogs.
Whiskers’ thinks of everything and they’ve now been a successful Kauai business for 13 years, so that is impressive. Was always kinda jealous that my dogs had such a beautiful place to stay — that property is AMAZING! THANK YOU Whiskers for being there for my pups!
