Ken Towery’s Tire & Autocare

THIEVES!!! Deserves negative stars. Seriously, DO NOT take your vehicles here, and if you do call around to receive other estimates first. They quoted me literally double what another shop quoted me. (Thankfully, I was smart enough to call somewhere else for a second opinion.) But since they had already gotten me on the hook for a $ 100 «diagnostic fee” – what does that even mean? since they already hooked the machine up to tell them EXACTLY why the car was throwing the check engine light on – I was forced to leave my car there anyway.
Honestly, the seriously inflated price was probably because I’m female. Car shops LOVE to rip females off. Because the moment I called back and said I had a better price from another shop (Towerys said nearly $ 700 and the other shop said $ 316 for comparison), Jim or whatever the thieving hick with no teeth at the desk’s name is, immediately backed the price down hundreds of dollars.
Take your money and business somewhere else. This place has overinflated prices, and it charges you for unnecessary services. Plus I’m pretty sure one of my parts isn’t even an OEM.

Let me start off with saying that I have literally bought every set of tires from Ken Towery since 2011. I drive a lot as a traveling consultant and use a lot of tires. I assumed all Ken Towery locations were great…
I took my vehicle here after having a pin hole in my sidewall. I walked my entire vehicle that morning looking for the tire leak due to my tire pressure sensor being on.
They changed both back tires since I don’t like replacing just one. Upon returning they had stripped my lug and said it came in like that. I talked to two managers about replacing it and they «stand by their employees».
Now I will be replacing it myself (as it is only an hour of work), but I won’t be going back to a place with no integrity.
Now I’ll be going to Tire Discounters for future business.

I always say the best mechanic you can find is one you can trust. These guys do it right. Good prices, Great Service. I used to just come here for tires and brakes my familys vehicles but am now also starting to bring them in for oil changes. For as long as I have lived in Lexington (20+ years) Ken Towery has always been a trusted source of automobile repair for me.

I came for an oil change (see website for prices) and left satisfied. I made an appointment ahead of time with Jim (or Tim) and David (or Darrell… as you can see, my hearing isn’t the best), and the whole process took about 30 minutes.
These guys did a great job inspecting the car. They told me what is wrong or may need work, but did not try to pressure me to do any additional work while I was there or while the car was on the rack. I really appreciated not being pressured to do more work on the spot. They explained things in way that anyone could understand. Jim and David (or Tim and Darrel) were down-​to-​earth guys.
Oil changes here include a tire rotation and other services for free, which is nice.
I would come back here again for any auto repair needs. PS, check their website; they have tons of coupons to save you money.

We got brand new tires from these fine folks and they were the cheapest in town. There was a mix up with which promotions we could use but the price was right and the work done was of quality. Their up front out the door pricing should be an example to other tire shops. 4 Michelin Defender tires for $ 500.

Here’s a shout out to Ken Towery on Todd’s Road. I shopped price online and they were $ 100 less for a set of 4 then S&S. I called and Chris answered, verified the price but said they didn’t have my size at the store. They had them at the warehouse but the warehouse doesn’t deliver on Saturdays. However if I wanted them he would go get them. I agreed, they didn’t even verify my name or number. I showed up and as promised they were there. I thought I needed new brakes especially on the front. I left the vehicle and half hour later the manager Steve called to tell me the front brakes were fine but the rear were less than 30%. Painless, less expensive, and great competent personel!
