This place has both great and bad reviews. I took a chance, and I can say that tge place is ok. The dishes were(pastas and chicken), but I can sense why many dont like this place. If you conplain about something, which I did, they come off a bit gruff about the situation. They shouldnt take it personally, stuff happens. Nobody is perfect, and not every dish or meal is made to perfection. Let’s keep that in mind.

The ppl here are so rude my friends eat there all the time and tht live it but me I can’t eat certain foods and when then menu says whole wheat thts the only thing I can eat they lie to me every week about getting the order in… And when I asked who orders the food so I can get tht pasta the guy has the nerve to have a major attitude!!! My friends spend a lot of money here and I am willing to pay for the pasta but I see my money isn’t appreciated here… So I will go to muscle maker grill and I’ll find a place in the Bergen county area tht has it because I will refuse to support this type of place tht cold disrespects paying customers!!!

I’ve been coming here for years and there’s a reason why Dante’s keeps expanding, the experience is truly amazing and authentic; it’s everything you would expect from a local Italian restaurant in New Jersey. Dante and his lovely wife Alaina make you feel at home and the food is amazing! It’s a great family establishment and a jem of Leonia. We usually get the penne vodka with chicken, or the veal picante, amazing choices. If your looking for great local Italian food with amazing service Dantes is THE place! Period.

Stay away from this place! My wife and me ordered take out today, pasta Carbonara and chicken Frances, two of the simplest item that you can get at any average pizzeria, the food was dry, and when I mean dry it means no sauce at all, returned to the restaurant for a refund and the owner was very nasty. Trust me, Stay away from this place.

Dante’s has always been a great restaurant. Ever since the expansion, they have added more tables and the atmosphere is still good and not too loud. Great selection for menu but still bummed they don’t take orders for individual pizza slices.

I thought I’d give this place a try based on the reviews and it was one of the most horrific dining experience I’ve ever had in my life! First we ordered the ceasar salad and the fried calamari around 6:10 pm tonight and the food came pretty quickly. The appetizers were ok nothing more than mediocre. We ordered Linguine with white clam sauce and the seafood combo entrée at appx 6: 15 pm. Then we waited and waited and waited. Finally; at 7:00pm we were told the entrees were coming out in about two minutes. But instead of the linguini side dish I ordered, they told me to take the spaghetti because I would have to wait much longer for the linguini. So I said ok to the spaghetti side dish. The entrees came out at 7:20 pm. The linguine with clams was really salty and the clams extremely rubbery, as if the clams were heated to death!!! The seafood combo was disgusting and rancid. I bit into one scallop and almost vomited instantly. The Scallop reeked of the smell of ammonia and it was slimy. I spit out the scallop and called the waiter. I asked him to smell it. He looked annoyed and didn’t say anything, and brought it back to the kitchen. My sister then approached the counter and asked the owner to come to our table. I asked him to smell the scallops and told him the dish was spoiled. He apologized for making us wait too long for our food, but told me the scallops tasted bad because they weren’t cooked enough. A few minutes later the waiter came back with the same plate of food with the same foul smelling scallops; but only cooked a little bit more. At that point I asked for the check and the owner offered to make me something else. I refused because we couldn’t bare waiting another hour and also were afraid they might poison us with additional spoiled food. The owner then told us not to pay; which was the right thing to do; since the whole experience resulted in a great deal of stress and disappointment.

My favorite Italian place in Bergen County! The owners as well as the staff are lovely people who make you feel like you’re home. They have authentic Italian food and will always have you coming back for more. My family has had them cater our parties for years and they never disappoint. My top suggestions are the gnocchi and Sofia Loren ravioli dish(Have to ask for) The portions are quite big so it’s worth the price. Oh and a delivery app picks up food from them and delivers it to you now!

The food here is great and this place deserves more recognition than it gets. They start you off with garlic knots and bread and they are a great appetizer before you start your meal. I really enjoyed the Chicken Parmigiana. The owners are really nice people as well! I plan on being back in the future for more dinners!

Great eats here! Out of town from from VA and eating at a place like this makes me wish I lived up north again. Be sure you bring your favorite spirits, because I did. But I walked 1 block and found a bottle of Chianti to share with my wife.

I didn’t go to dantes for years because Dante used to shoo away my friends and I if we dared to hang out in front of Happy market or whatever it was called then. We didn’t have cell phones Dante, or Dunkin donuts! I have long since forgave him and Dantes is now my go to Pizza place in the area. iI’s just good, and reliably so. Very rarely have I been unhappy with an order there. Now that I am over 18, all the staff are very friendly! I’ve had a few other dishes there, and they’re pretty good as well. I do wish that the online menu would be updated, as mistakes have been made when I have tried to phone in my order and the gentleman on the other end found the idea of French fries with cheese very perplexing. That is okay, dantes is still aces in my book.

Went for lunch with a group of 14 from work and it was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the meal(I had meat lasagna), and the service was equally good. Check it out.

I highly recommend the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer, followed by the Seafood Combination platter. You will be provided with a good assortment of bread/rolls, and the brightest freshest salad you will have in a long long time! In the past I’ve ordered eggplant parmigiana which was sort of bland. This time around everything was extremely fresh and delicious! I love that you can bring your own wine too!

I would consider this place a gem in Fort Lee. My group and I were passing through from JFK and settled on dinner here. As I remembered it, it was a very warm and cozy place. The food was very good based on what my group said. I’d definitely come back again if I was in the area.

This restaurant defines great traditional Italian food! Dante and Elena(the owners) are extremely hospitable to all their guests and make you feel welcome. Anything from appetizers(bruschetta, calamari, fresh Mozzarella) to entrees(specifically recommend the seafood, fresh and out of this world!) are great. And if you don’t want to dine in you can always get great take out! Their pizza pies are great for a cozy Sunday night on the couch. Overall this is an amazing Italian gem in Bergen county for all types of occasions.

I’ve been coming here for so long and its taken this long to Unilocal this place! This restaurant is a mainstay for good food in Leonia. Dante’s has been serving the community for over 10 years and the quality of the food has never slipped. Italian is the name of the game here and you will not be disappointed. I normally cringe at the thought of describing a restaurant as «intimate» but that really is what you get at Dante’s. Low lighting with white table cloths with a very homey type of décor, serrious enough for a special dinner, but casual enough for lunch. Dante himself will often come around and ask the customers how the food is/how they’re doing. Lets get to the food! The bread basket they start you off with has a lot of variety. There are at least 3 different types of bread including garlic knots, classic italian, and onion rolls. All the bread comes to your table hot, and covered with a napkin to preserve the warmth. The ravioli here is excellent, all kinds, lobster, meat, cheese, you can’t go wrong. Big pieces, creamy sauce, in soft delicious pasta. The fried calamari is also great here. They even throw in some fried vegetables as well. I don’t think I’ve ever had a dish I didn’t like here. For this level of service and quality of food, the prices here are unbeatable. With the combination of all of the above its no surprise Dante’s has been around as long as it has. 5 star rating very much deserved.

I wish that I had a more positive review for this restaurant because the owner’s are great people, the service is spot on and it’s a cute little place in my neighborhood. However, the food is really just okay and good enough for a quick bite because it’s local but there is really nothing special. We’ve had some pasta, chicken and fish dishes and honestly it was on par with what you’d find at a half decent diner. We really don’t like their entrees but we’ve had some pretty good pizzas so here is where they shine.
