This place will steal your money! DO NOT STAY HERE! I flew in for 1 day for a work meeting, I checked out at 9:45am and they would not refund me for my deposit, they claim I checked out at 12:30. I have proof that I was clocked in at work with a time stamp of 10:28am and I still was unable to get my deposit back. The manager (Mike) wouldn’t even give me an email address to send him my proof. He than goes on to tell me that he has video footage of me leaving at 1 which is a complete bold face lie!!! I asked to see that footage because I know he was making it up and he refused, told me to go fu*k myself and hung up. I was irate that he took it that far. I called back and this time I recorded the phone call, he went on to say that I was with other people that night and they were extremely rude to him when checking out. That right there proved his lies, I was there by myself and he’s sitting there making things up. I was very frustrated at this point and I told him either he has me confused with someone else or he was lying straight to my face. That’s when he burst and yelled every cuss word in the book at me telling me to go fu*k my mom and my dad, and much much more! I almost couldn’t believe what I was hearing but I’m glad I decided to record it! At this point I had enough and that’s when I called the police! . This was by far the worst hotel experience ever, these people are crooks and will steal your money than make up stories as to why you won’t get your money back! I had to call into my bank and explain the situation to them and file for fraud against the hotel! This place is a joke and is ran by a bunch of monkeys. DO NOT EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL THE MANAGER IS A THIEF AND WILL MAKE UP STORIES THAN CUSS YOU OUT WITH THE WORST WORDS A HUMAN CAN SAY!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAYYYY!

So I got there this past Thursday evening about 1245 am, was very tired, would have been in bed at least an hour earlier if I hadnt taken the wrong trolley. I get to the night window and the seemingly Indian man is rude, like he’s pissed he has to work that shift (or later as I began to experience the low quality of the room, mad cause he knows he works at a substandard property). After I fill out an info card he slides another card to me under the glass all hard, face all twisted, like a command, «Sign!» I read the card and see that there are no numbers in the boxes for my two nights’ rate and let him know that, because I already paid for the room, I need to know that the amount that will be written in those boxes will match what I paid; hearing that he became flustered, he snatched the card away and threw my credentials back under the glass and told me go ahead, I can find someplace else, which somewhat surprised me and I asked what is he doing, «You don’t want to sign so…» I told him that it was perfectly appropriate for me to ask what I asked him and to seek that assurance (I did not appreciate him trying to emotionally manipulate me). He told me something with jumbled articulation about how it works and processed the incidental authorization. He asked how many people & I’d already said just me, he told me only Im allowed or I’ll lose my deposit (not the case when I booked online)

This place is dirty nasty !!! Will never go back there again ! Try Travel lodge. La mesa it’s cheaper and better. All I have to say about the place is don’t go here. The man up front is rude .He got mad cause I complained about his dirty room. He told me I could go elsewhere and pay more. What a joke. If you are clean don’t go here. We had trash under chairs a kotex yes kotex ashes, and dirty carpet… I have pics to prove it.

This place was horrible to me. Because we’re in a smoking room that my husband booked for us and we did not know this. It was a place that my daughter and I were not use too. So I guess we are hard judges on this place. I think management needs to make the hotel a non-​smoking place, let your guests smoke outside. There was a stain in our bathtub and the sheets smelt like smoke. I know it was a smoking room, but if the sheets were washed, they should not smell like smoke. Management was nice and tried to help you. Maybe it was just a bad weekend, where we felt like the person above us, must of been on drugs, because of the constant movement at 2 am. Nice management and staff but they need to make some changes.

I reserved a room for July 3^rd to July 5^th for this past weekend. When I arrived staff was very unwelcoming and told me I would receive my fifty dollar deposit when I checked out I was charged 344 $ and said I could have been charged more for my son who is 11 and I only had my sister and two children with me. We arrived to our room and it was still dirty we had to wait outside of the room for about 40 min until the cleaning lady was done mind you I speak Spanish. So I talked to her while she cleaned. In the middle of our first night their someone came to our room knocking on the door and did not leave for a while. Not a secluded area very open to any one who wants to just go in from the street! I would not recommend this dump to anyone who is staying in San Diego for the weekend! I checked my bank account today and they decided to keep my fifty dollar deposit!

This is my first review but I hate this place so much that I’m gonna give it a shot. I wish I didn’t have to give them any stars. I wish I could give them a circle or something. So me and my girlfriend rented room at this place. Renting the room was easy. Input it in my card, they took the deposit, gave us the key. Easy. We walk into our non-​smoking room (we ask specifically for a nonsmoking because my girlfriend had her baby with her) and a horribly strong smell of stale pot hits my nose. I walk around the room, go into the bathroom and it smells like they’re growing marijuana in there. We put our stuff down and open the window, turn on the AC and try to force the smell out. I go to turn on the TV and the cable isn’t working. Usually her daughter goes to sleep to the Disney channel but cable seemed to be out. I called down to the front desk and the guy (His name is Ravi) said he was very busy but would be up in 20 to 30 minutes. After about 40 minutes I call down and he’s still too busy but suggests that I try a few things. After my girlfriend and I try to fix the TV and get it to work i realize the smell is unbearable. I called down to ask if he could find us another room Ravi told me that again he was very busy but he would try to find us something. I go downstairs to see how busy he really is. Caught him literally feet up, playing with his phone. I tell him that we’re checking out that the room smells like shit and his service has been terrible. He apologizes and begins to process it. Thats Ravi when tells me that there will be no refund because we were checked in more than 30 minutes! Of course I let him know that the only reason we were in the room as long as we were was because we were waiting for him to assist us. Of course there was nothing he could do. He was not authorized to give me a refund but to call 10:30 am the next day and talk to the manager. The next morning I call at 1030 and some how the manager came and left. Wouldn’t be back but to call back in Monday. I call back on Monday and get another rude employee named Chris. Chris tells me that the manager is running late and he’s not sure when he’s going to be in. I ask what the managers schedule is and he tells me he can’t give this information. He tells me to call back later, he’s very busy. I ask him what days the manager is usually in. He tells me he’s very busy and he doesn’t have time for all my questions and hangs up on me. I call him back and tell him I need to know when I can speak to the manager because I’m getting the run around in which he replies, «what is this fucking Scotland yard? What’s with all the questions?» At that point I lost my cool. I flipped out on this condescending asshole. What a prick! He hung up on me again. I call Choice Hotels to try to get some help, they are the owners of the brand name, they offer me «6000 points» towards another glorious night at econolodge hotel. I told him that was ridiculous and to transfer me to a supervisor. After an hour of holding music I get a pissy supervisor. She tells me that my complaint has been closed because the general manager has mailed me an apology letter. I couldn’t believe it! At the end after another 45 minutes of arguing and explaining how I couldn’t give less a fuck about an apology letter from someone who I didn’t know that had nothing to do with any of this she offered me a check for $ 25 that I would receive in four weeks. Fuck econolodge. Fuck Choice Hotels. Don’t go here. Oh, also its a prostitute nest. Which explained the 2 hour refund policy. Whew, I feel better.

If I could give this location a –5, I sure would. The management and maids have horrible customer service! Very rude and unprofessional! The carpet was extremely dirty and there was a roach crawling in the bathtub. The WiFi was very poor. My husband and I tried talking to the manager about it, but it seemed to really irritate him that we mentioned it to him. He made a smart remark by saying if you don’t like it, let Priceline know. It was like he could careless! We were finally fed up when we went out to breakfast the third morning and came back to our room smelling like marijuana. We talked to the manager regarding this issue. He sent the maid to spray air freshener in the room. About five minutes later we heard the sound of water outside our front door. We looked out the window and the maid was sweeping a water substance from the upstairs hallway right down onto our brand new car! After talking to the manager once again, he was very frustrated with us and told us to deal with. That was it, we grabbed our belongings and left two days early not being reimbursed, since we paid through Priceline in advance. We checked into another hotel for the remaining two days. We took a loss! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone! Extremely lousy customer service and dirty nasty rooms!

This place is horrible for the amount I paid.
I went in on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm to check-​in. I was given a key and went to my room. When I walked up to the room with door wide open looking completely untouched from the person that stayed there the night before.
Went back to the front desk where I told the front desk guy about the room not being ready. He apologized and gave me another key for another room. So, I jogged over to the room and AGAIN! It wasn’t even touched by housekeeping. Looked like someone was slaughtered in the room with crap all over the place. I think this happened three times when I arrived. Finally, they «found» a room that was ready and I settled in.
I walked the room, only to find the place run down as if there was a boxing match in the room with dents, scraps and pieces of the wall falling off. Not to mention, I think prisoners have more room in their cell then the room.
Wouldn’t stay here again because of how unorganized they are on what rooms are ready and which ones still need cleaning. You’ll also come down with claustrophobia before you leave.

Worst place to stay. Poor management. pathetic customer service. Try to avoid this place at any cost.

From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in, the two front desk employees were extremely rude and disrespectful! They were giving us a hard time checking in, and he didnt even give us an option and rudely said we were going to have to get a smoking room. Ew! While putting the deposit on the card he very rudely looked at us and made a snarky remark saying its a 100 dollar deposit so dont destroy the room. I was very offended by that, just because we are young he doesnt have to be so rude! We took the key and left to the room which had the bathroom lock and bathtub handle broken! I went to go tell them so they wouldnt blame it on us and rudely said yeah that was there already while turning his back to us walking away. We decided to just let it go and not let it ruin our trip but NEVER again. As you can see there are many bad reviews meaning it didnt just happen to us! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I reluctantly give this crap hole one star. I am amazed that this place has not been shut down by the Department of Health. The room we were given reeked of cigarette smoke and mold, we tried to get some circulation only to find the A/​C unit was not working. There were light switches missing so the fan in the bathroom ran all night long. The towel bar was broken as we as the bar to hang clothing on. There was a cockroach the size of a chihuahua crawling across the TV and rat droppings behind the dresser. The next morning I woke to the manager screaming at the people occupying the room next door about having a dog in the room and wouldn’t give them their deposit back. I happen to know that was NOT true. They had no dog in there because we spoke to them about the horrible amenities and re extremely rude manager. An awful place. Never ever again! I would rather stay at Hotel California or Bates Motel !!

Jerk who owns this place will not forward calls to our sons room. He had just called us from there!

Got there at 2:30pm and left by 3pm to find a different hotel. I don’t recommend any place that posts a sign saying the building has cancer causing substances. I also will say that expedia’s write up on the hotel is false and way past over exaggerated.

I booked this hotel for me, my husband, and daughter. Thank God it was only for one night and no longer. Most of the amenities they name on there website do not work. Their computer did not work, their one and only ice machine, or their vending. The remote to the TV was not working, so we asked for new batteries. They came to our room and was in our room for 20mins trying to figure out why it wasnt and kept asking us what we did to the remote. We were’nt even there for an hour. they finally put batteries in and it was working. They only had one set of towels in the hotel, so I went to the front office and asked for 2 more sets. The employer said he was not allowed to give us anymore towels. He knows we booked the hotel for 3 people and not one. Staying here was a headache and we will never stay here again. No customer service, false advertisement, and just trying to gain every dollar they can. We barley received our deposit back because they wanted to charge for the towels and the batteries for the remote. Dont ever stay here and make sure you check you bank statement and keep your receipt.

After reading some reviews online I was worried about my offer through priceline, because I got a great deal. However, to my surprise the gentleman at the front was quick and checked me in with no attitude and gave me a non-​smoking room that I had requested. The room was updated with nice marble desk and nice new leather desk chair, marble counters and marble stand, newer HD TV with HD channels available, All lamps had electrical plug-​ins and a fridge with freezer as well as a newer microwave, newer air conditioning unit. Room was nicely painted and new bedroom furniture. Considering this place is on a major street — it is very quiet and hidden in a way. I would recommend and would stay here again.
Was traveling with 2 people, all towels were in the room and when I called the front desk to get the password for the internet — he was very polite. Room was also equipped with an iron board and newer iron. For the price paid through priceline — it doesn’t get much better than this!

We got this hotel thru price line for a GREAT price — only to be charged for double beds and a non-​smoking room — AND ten dollars for the extra person that we had put on price line but somehow it did not transfer so I decided to be honest at 1 a.m. on our arrival. The desk clerk was RUDE and actually stood there and told me to CALL PRICE LINE about this issue! PLUS we had to check in AGAIN for the next day because the extra person would be at her sisters house — but somehow we then no longer had our room available for as when we went to check in again. HOWEVER — miracles of miracles the SAME room became available around noon due to some «cancellation» and we have to come right back THEN to check in for the next (already prepaid for by the way) night.
This 39 dollar rate became a 59 dollar hotel room for a crappy room! We even only got ONE hand towel and two THIN towels to use for our paid for three people in a room!
I would NEVER stay here again at ANY price!

From the gal that checked us in the to guy that check us out — all employees were rude. The guy that gave me the wrong password for the internet implied I was stupid & couldn’t type the password correct. The «food» from the free «breakfast» was at least a week old — the chocolate chips in the muffins were gray! It takes about a week for that to happen.
When I wrote the hotel with my complaints, I was offered 10% discount for my next stay there. As IF I’d ever stay there again!
