Total rip off! People don’t go on this, they will take your $$ !! Xoom energy will Save you money my a$$

This company will lock you into a 2 year contract which may sound great if rates are going up. But guess what? Rates are going down and now you may be paying a higher rate than you would with your local company. I would stay away from any of these energy companies that have sprung up since deregulation. They are like the locus, there to suck you dry and then on to the next new money making venture. To charge $ 175 to get out of the contract is not worth it when this company may only save you a few cent in the beginning.

Terrible Terrible and terrible ! Don’t do it! I also was sold XOOM through a friend that was working with ACN. The customer service is awful, the savings is negligible at best with the only net change being increased headaches.

Better think twice about signing up with this company! I signed up under promotion with ACN. I didn’t realize this was an internet company. I set up monthly automatic payments. In May, they changed their payment website so my automatic payments were not honored. Couple of months later I received a $ 750 bill. My contract had also came for renewal. I missed their email but they didn’t try to send mail or call me. I told them that I can’t pay the whole $ 750 at once but willing to pay my monthly bill with extra payment and I’d like to lower the variable rate which was twice the normal rates. They said it was going to take two monthly cycle before it would take effect and mean while I couldn’t switch to other companies until I paid my bills. I ended up calling other companies and switched regardless and still stuck paying these exorbitance payments. They also kept sending me pink disconnect notice threatening to turn off my electricity even after making arrangements to make payments. They could have tried to contact me and let me know about my new contract and their payment system and work with me to turn things around. By the way, you can’t even see your bill online… how’s that for an internet company. I’m still having to finish paying $ 1,213.44 for 3 months which is over $ 400 per month… very ridiculous! I’ll take responsibility that I should have been more vigilant and on top of my emails but still they could have been more proactive in contacting me in other ways and work with me instead of threatening with disconnection notice and making me stay paying these ridiculous rates until they would switch me to fixed rate. There are a lot of other companies around. I would stay away from this one!

I read a lots of reviews, and i can tell something*“YOU CAN HAVE A PROBLEM ONLY, when you’r rep dose not explain you very well”! Also one more thing” READ EVERYTHING BEFORE SIGNING UP ANY CONTRACT OR PAPERWORK”! People if you read carefully you never get those complains ! Xoom itself is very good, the best i can tell company! It saves me a lot! If you pay attention to all those bad reviews, it’s all about canceling the contract without paying any early termination fee! Again let’s go back to my word mention above «Read carefully before signing up anything «««! People don’t pay attention most of the time and talk shit about current company ! If we pay attention to all those reviews it means we have to seat without any services !

I love Xoom energy! Such an easy sign up process and I have been saving money for the past two year consistently. I would definitely recommend it.

I do not recommend anyone signing up with Xoom. It is the biggest hassle ever. They come in and say you will save a lot of money by switching, which did not happen and if we did on an account it was by a few cents. The whole thing is a pyramid scheme. And then make it a big hassle to cancel and no one was willing to help answer our questions. Big thumbs down

Xoom energy helped me get a fixed rate lower than the utility company’s variable rate. It cost me nothing and I have the security of knowing that it will never go up as energy prices begin to skyrocket. Many people were complaining during the Polar Vortex, but not us. We were sitting pretty. My bill still comes from the utility company and my account number even stayed the same.

Signed up with XOOM energy for a fixed rate for 2 years. All was fine until that rate expired; then they hiked me from $.08 to $.17 per kWh. Mind you, the local utility was charging $.087. So… in the hot summer, ACs blasting, our rate more than doubled. Called them to try and renegotiate, no luck. Tried to switch to another utility, and they refused to give our usage data to the new provider. It took me three months and dozens of calls to switch, all the while paying the outrageous $.17 rate. Stay away!

xoom energy is not goooood compay because they rate is hide rate and higher than other company. When you cancel they charge very high early termination fee. they like every thing high!!! and suck business. be carful every body. local energy compay is best for you. Customer service… they sucks… far way form them is gooood for you.

This company is disorganized and their Customer Care is utterly useless. They were sending me bills even after I cancelled my service and moved out of my residence. I called their support line and I was assured they would correct this but two months later, the phone calls and emails about late payments have not stopped. Today I emailed three different departments about this problem, only to be informed that my account is still past due. It’s just absurd.

I live in Mass. and have National Grid for our electricity. Thanks to Xoom as the supply for our electricity now, I have 50% renewable/​clean electricity for LESS than I was paying with National Grid for the supply of traditional/​polluting energy. Reduced carbon footprint, and lower bills thanks to the flat rate for which I signed up. Can’t understand these negative reviews! I’ve had Xoom since November 2013 and continued to be billed by National Grid and pay them exactly as I alway have (since they remain my provider/​delivery/​utility); zero interruption or change with respect to billing — other than lower bills overall.

Xoom Energy is a giant rip off. My gas charges tripled after I had it about 6 months. I canceled my service but not before it cost me over $ 300 on two months billings. My bill went from $ 286 to $ 182 after I canceled for almost the same amount of gas usage. Don’t sign up. It is a scam

I enrolled with Xoom energy through ACN to help a friend with his ACN business. Please do not use this service without locking in a rate plan. I was vague about this and did not bother to lock in a rate «which I did not know I was supposed to» so i stayed on the variable rate since the beginning of having them supply the service.
I have basically have been being charged double since the variable rate became effective since I did not lock in. Xoom energy rates for electric were a little cheaper for the start up enrollment rate, however now «even there lock in rates are higher than my Utility would charge.
Example: my February 2014 charge from xoom energy for my electric usage for the month was 1,032 bucks and Pepcos charge would have been 460 and 500 for the same usage.
Needless to say I cancelled xoom and went back to PEPCO.
Unless you are a wiz with examing rates and knowing what would be best for you, I would not ever switch to Xoom as your supplier…

I have just finished canceling my Xoom energy account. Let me help you decide if you want to use them… Don’t
I signed up with Xoom with a rep from ACN with promises of lower bills. You know the whole sales pitch, they get better rates from the utility and pass the savings on to you. If I saved money it might have been like 75c, not worth the hassle of having one more company to communicate with, get billing from and contact if you have issues like I did.
If you enjoy complicating your life then I highly recommend Xoom!

I had the same experience with these guys. I signed up with these guys to save money and was told that I could cancel within 30 days and when I called, I was told that it would take 1 – 2 billing cycle to have the gas meter read by gas compant and I would still need to make payment plus a $ 25.00 early termination fee.
I have made numerous calls and finally gave up and made the payment.
The last person I spoke with at Xoom Energy even admitted that there were a lot of people that had the same issue and went through a same headache.

This supplier was introduced to me by someone I knew. I have been saving money every month for the last year with Xoom. My bill still comes from my utility company (not two separate bills like I thought). Overall, very pleased with this company and pricing.

RUN. If you live in Southern California, XOOM will screw you bad. I am in medical school and switched to help out a friend and effectively doubled my gas bill. I got double billed for the same gas.
XOOM can do nothing for you in California. RUN. RUN. RUN. Or be prepared to fork over money to a faceless scammer for a service that can’t provide. Gas is a public utility and they will lie their faces off. Stay with SoCal gas and go buy a snickers bar to reward yourself for being smarter than me

My updated review will continue to show my complete dissatisfaction with this company.
I have been trying to get my deposit back (from June 2012) which is when I signed up for their service and these folks are still giving me the runaround.
Save your sanity and DON’T SIGN UP FOR XOOM!!!
I would not recommend XOOM to my worst enemy!!!
