I was here last night 5÷29÷16, and it is a nice place. It’s an old bank, with amazing charm. I sat at the bar with 2 friends, and we’re talking and laughing like usual. I was getting hungry, so I ordered a steak salad. It came and I started eating it. It tasted weird, but I thought maybe it’s the sauce. On my fork in the bowl I noticed something strange. I pulled it out with my fork and it was a latex glove. I was mortified, my friends and the patrons near me all freaked out. The bartender ran to get the manager, and of course I was sick to my stomach. The manager came over to me and saw it, and literally all he could say was«I’m sorry». He walked away without another word.

My wife and I decided on Lightfoot for our anniversary and we did so based upon excellent past visits at both lunch and dinner. Warning: Do not go to Lightfoot on a Saturday evening. I say this due to the following: 1. Our dinners arrived lukewarm. 2. My wife’s filet was well done rather than medium(one half of a steak and crab cake combination). 3. The filet was sent back and came back to the table raw. 4. We declined to have the filet done for the third time and my wife simply had the crab cake. Because the restaurant knew that it was our anniversary we were comped a dessert. Thank you, that was very nice of them. However, when the bill arrived we had been charged the full amount for my wife’s meal. One would have thought that the waitress(who was excellent) would have said something to management. Maybe she was not permitted to do so. In any event, I did mention to her that I did not feel it appropriate for us to be charged for an incomplete meal. Management did remove the charge. Again, thank you, but the charge should never have appeared on the bill to begin with. I am quite sure we will return, but not on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was clearly overwhelmed and unable to keep up. By the way, the waitress told us that we were not the only customers who had had trouble with steaks. Me thinks that Lightfoot needs someone who knows how to properly cook a steak running the meat station.

Did you know this is one of the older restaurants in Leesburg that went under significant changes? I remember moving to Leesburg as a kid; we always drove past this place but never dined here. Better late than never right? It’s one of the most elegant restaurants I’ve attended. Attending a rehearsal dinner here a few weeks ago, we were fortunate to dine in the private room located on the second floor overseeing the Leesburg courtyard area. A beautiful site to behold, I knew we were in for a treat. I started with the spinach salad which had crisp spinach leaves and bacon(great start). Paired well with the wine we ordered which they have a nice selection of(I love wine). Salmon was my entrée; a generous wild-alaskan salmon rolled in crab meat and spinach over a bed of cous cous(oh yessss!). Somehow I had enough room for dessert and had the chocolate banana bread pudding(sweeeeettt!!). I love any kind of bread pudding and this one fit the bill. The bananas were ripe adding a new dimension to the term bread pudding. A fine dessert for those with the sweetest of teeth. Our server was Jose and he did an outstanding job. Our glasses were always full with W3(whiskey, water, or wine), courses arrived in a timely fashion, and he answered all our questions with grace and patience. Talk about a waiter Jedi, like Yoda using the force to serve us a great dining experience. It gives me a reason to envy those in Leesburg. I’m glad I moved out but with a place like this, I would’ve reconsidered!

Tried to take my wife out for a Mothers day dinner. Service was poor. They didn’t check on us as often as one should if you are going to have patrons waiting for an hour for food. I ordered the Cajun Spaghetti and the CLAMSWERECLOSED!!! Decided not to eat anything. Did I mention that we had to wait an hour for our food. Needless to say, my wife and I will not dine there again. #hangry

I love this place the staff is amazing and the food is phenomenal. This is a staple of downtown Leesburg. I remember when I was young it being a huge deal to eat here! Highly recommend the duck quesdilla.

Checked this place out last week and were very pleased. The wife and I met an old friend here for happy hour and we really enjoyed everything. The bar is extremely comfortable and the food was delicious. The deviled eggs are a must try.

Great restaurant! Décor is very nice, service was great, and food was phenomenal. We had the French onion soup, which was very different since it also had mushrooms, but was very good. And we also had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, super what was super but overpriced. For entrées we had the lamb T-bones, which were absolutely incredible and a delicious cut of meat. The spinach with feta and couscous on the side were very good. We also had a flank steak salad which was delicious. We kept raving about the food and atmosphere afterwards, and are incredibly pleased with the overall experience. Great spot for a date night. Also, we had a newborn with us and felt very comfortable with that. Will definitely be back!

Located in DT Leesburg in an old bank, this spot has a lot of character and a very unique atmosphere for dining! There are a lot of interesting options on their menu and the list of specials was quite lengthy. I decided to go with the gyro listed on the specials list. It came with zucchini fries and a feta sauce that I thought sounded delightful. My man opted for a special as well and got the frenchy plate — a ham and brie croissant and french onion soup. A bit of a bummer that the drink menu only included wine, I was really in the mood for a cold beer on a warm day. Not too sure why that is, but by the time it was time to place my order, I was so hungry that I forgot to even ask if they had a beer selection! The food was. it was good. I didn’t particularly enjoy the zucchini fries, they seemed a bit soft. The feta sauce was outstanding and I used it for my gyro as well. The gyro was OK, it was packed and I found myself treating it like a salad rather than a traditional gyro because of the setup. The toppings were good and the meat was cooked well. My boyfriend said his french onion soup was the best he has ever had, but didn’t really like his sandwich. I had a bite and thought it was good. Nothing here exceeded expectation and we both left a little hungry(I didn’t eat my zucchini fries and he didn’t finish his sandwich). My advice would be to maybe stick to the items on the menu? I had a gut instinct to try the meatloaf sandwich because it sounded so interesting and delicious! Perhaps I should have followed it!

Went here for my Birthday and every time I come in I am disappointed. I have tried a bunch of times, and every time the bill comes I regret paying it because it’s so mediocre. For the money and for the food quality, there are a lot of other options in Leesburg. The only reason they get a second star is for the cool factor of the Bank in Old Town Leesburg.

Keeping it short; focusing mostly on food, as ambience was fine and server was OK. Went in with party of 7 for a birthday celebration. Boring menu: Mostly stuff that anyone could make at home after a Costco run. Food was not well-prepared: Chips and fries were limp –not crispy– indicating oil not hot enough. Rest of the food was obviously not made with care. Salad was also soggy and the ‘seared’ tuna atop it came out cold. Shrimp/grits is a heavy combo that needs counterbalance. Wine prices were steep. Way, way overpriced for the quality served(I don’t mind paying for higher quality. I get annoyed when price is extremely high and I could make it better at home in half the time)! Will not return.

It has been a few years since I went to lightfoot and I was excited to order some of the fare that I previously really enjoyed. The food was not as good as I remember and the fried green tomatoes turned out really oily and difficult to cut so I ended up not finishing it. The soup was way to rich and was all cream and not much crab meat and I didn’t finish it as well. And the waiter was a quiet unprofessional when we asked for bottomless Mamosa’s he replied«I prefer topless ones». We all went silent as my girlfriends and I were taking a bit back. Beautiful restaurant and maybe they were having an off day but I don’t think I will be doing the chefs table as I was hoping to do that for my fiancé birthday.

We came to celebrate a family birthday. This is one of a few nice restaurants in the Leesburg area. This review is focusing on own recent experience with their service. It was Super Bowl 50 and they were only open until 3:00pm. The hosts and managers were great in seating us in a private alcove for our large party. Our server was not that great. I am not sure why but when he poured water, he kept spilling the ice on the table and didn’t even acknowledge that these ice cubes were falling in our plates. Also, whenever I order a steak in a restaurant, I given a steak knife before the food arrives. Not this guy, because, we had to ask for a steak knife since my nephew was slicing his large steak with a butter knife. Drinks orders were not complete, we had to ask him to finish taking our drink orders. The place was NOT busy, and I not sure why this fine establishment provided us with a sub-par server. The food was good, not the best that they have produced in the years that I have eaten here. My favorite dish is the zucchini fries. They come as an appetizer and you can substitute them for the regular French fries. A few of us ordered their lunch lamb dips(buttered toasts with lamb slices). The dipping sauce was squeezed into a tiny dipping bowl, not large enough to dip a sandwich. I personally ordered the lobstah and shrimp pasta. The sauce was tasty but there was a limited amount of seafood for the lunch price point of $ 21. The tomato soup is a group favorite. It comes in a cup or bowl. Their deviled egg appetizer is also a group favorite. Desserts are plentiful except for the mini sundae. That is so tiny that you barely get one bite. Pay the extra $ 3 and get the normal sized sundae. Overall, the food was good but the service lacked. Hopefully this was a rare occasion because this place is a popular one in downtown Leesburg.

What an adorable looking spot! My hubby picked it for our late lunch on a recent day trip to Leesburg. We walked in and were told we would have a 20 minute wait for a table. No worries. Although there were plenty of tables open and set I figured that since they were all near the door, maybe they were going to put us further from the door(because it was cold) or even that they had a short staff situation. After about 15 minutes the host took us directly to a table we’d been staring at for our entire wait! Our server seemed bored but fine. I ordered a burger, hubby ordered fish and chips. Four tables were seated around us, all received food before we did. By the time I was ready to walk out the food came. Hubby’s fish an chips were plentiful, but served on napkin on the plate because the fish was SOGREASY. And the batter was about 2 inches longer than the fish. Fries were coldish for both of us. The coleslaw was more like pudding than coleslaw. Just weird. My burger seemed like it had been previously frozen — the flavor was just a bit ‘off.‘ Overall the ambiance is delightful, the service is passable and the food is Meh. The bar area seemed cute and the fireplace is a nice touch.

Our second time here and a treat again. Everything was excellent from start to finish. Great service too. Had the cheese plate and honey ham biscuits to start, would recommend them to anyone. I had the flank steak salad, which was very good but was lacking a flavor somewhere. No dessert this time, but have had great ones in the past. Good wine list too with a special section for local Virginia wines.

I will say that the food was very good. No complaints there. My only complaint is about our server. Started out ok, perhaps a little odd but good. But it all went bad when our server, Fred interrupted the conversation at the table and starts insulting me and went on a rant about diet restrictions. I had asked if a few items the gluten free as my boss and his wife have celiac disease and can’t have it. He started going off on how he had peanut butter as a kid and this is all a new fad. I tried to help the guy out by cutting him off but it was not until I told him to shut the F up did he stop. He basically ruined the evening for our department for our Christmas gathering. I will admit that I was scared about what he would do to my main dish after that. And I will say that I did have stomach problems after I got back to the hotel. Can’t necessarily say it was due to Lightfoot.

My friend read the good reviews on Unilocal so we decided to give it a try. When we first walked in we noticed an old guy just standing there until we realized it was a statue. We were greeted by smiling faces and were told we could wait at the bar until we are called. The bar area is very nice, the staff are all friendly and pofessional. We were finally seated in about 10min. The atmosphere is very classy and elegant. I noticed the majority were dressed up(as opposed to jeans/sneakers) but I did notice a couple wearing sweatshirt hoodies for dinner. Overall, I think you should look nice at this restaurant. Our server was great, he seemed tired but he remained professional. The entire menu looked awesome so I had a difficult time deciding on what to get. I will definitely come back to try out more dishes. This place is excellent for a date night. Enjoy!

The family had reservations on Columbus Day here for luncheon and greatly enjoyed the food and service although it all felt a bit laid back. Everyone was able to find something they liked on the menu which has a lot of different foods(salads, meat sandwiches, full entrees) and a great wine and drinks list. Dining in a former bank space really gives a lot of atmosphere! The only negative was that we’d specifically asked for a round table(that we’d had there before) and when we got there they proceeded to show us to a long rectangle(not good for our hard-of-hearing family member or our wheelchair using family member!). I expect not to have to «correct» the hostess on something like this since we’d reserved way ahead of time via Open Table. However, we knew the food would be good and the service pretty good, so got past that. Parking is tight in the back but it is wheelchair accessible.

This place was so adorable! Very clean, elegant, great décor. The food and wine was very good as well. Our waiter was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. Dinner, I chose the hamburger, with bacon, cheddar, and an egg! Very good! Desert, I went with the peanut butter torte… Absolutely amazing. I had two different white wines, can, not recall the names, and both were great. I will be stopping here again!!!

My boyfriend took me here on Valentine’s Day this year, and it was perfect! First, the restaurant itself used to be a bank! They still have the big vaults in the wall with glass so you can see all the mechanisms, and they keep the wine bottles in the vault! Personally, I thought it was really neat how they kept all that still there, it really gave it some charm. I assume it was for Valentine’s Day but there was a woman playing violin in the dining room, which really set the mood, she was great! They had themed cocktails which were amazing! I tried the«I Love Lucy» which had champagne, pomegranate and some sort of liquor I can’t remember, maybe vodka?, anyways it was delicious! We decided to try the winter cheese plate as our appetizer. Best. Choice. Ever! I can’t tell you all the kinds, but they were all yummy! It comes with nice warm bread slices and crackers! I highly recommend it, it’s not too filling and pairs perfectly with their huge wine selection! For dinner I got shrimp and lobster pasta. Yes! Sooo amazing! It had huge chunks of lobster in it and full shrimp, with out the tails which I really appreciate, all in a lovely cream sauce on top of angle hair pasta. It was exactly what I wanted! My boyfriend tried the lobster bisque, which much to his delight also had huge chunks of lobster in it!(So much so that he recommended I put that in the review) He also got the bacon wrapped shrimp and grits, and he loved it! Huge shrimp wrapped in bacon on cheesy grits, can’t go wrong! I was so happy my boyfriend chose this place for our evening. I look forward to celebrating there again, or maybe just on a random day!
