Also remember anyone can leave a review which could be an employee or a relative so could be totally bogus. I beg you take the time to read not only this location’s reviews but also some of the other ones too. Take your pet to Dr. Jones at Strothertowne. He is brilliant, compassionate, up on Holistic methods, proper nutrition, and he has saved my cats Ramses and Meriaten, along with my niece’s dogs, one which Blue Pearl let die by itself with no iv, oxygen, or anything while they made sure she could pay them. They let Chloe die and charged her $ 350.

My boyfriend and I are new parents to a 9 week old cavalier king charles spaniel. Our puppy had an accident, fell and hurt her leg. She was limping and crying and it just broke our hearts. Obviously we were extremely concerned and googled a good vet near by. We called this place right away and they said to bring her in. We did have have to wait a long time, but in the end everything was ok with our puppy and everyone working was very nice. Because of the long wait and that there was nothing wrong with our puppy they let us go free of charge. We were very pleased with how nice, understanding, and sensitive the doctor was. I wish they did vaccines because we would be taking our puppy here for her regular checkups and vaccines.

Our boxer was having seizures in the middle of the night. I googled emergency pet care in Lees Summit and the former business (which Blue Pearl took over) came up. It had horrible reviews and I refused to take her there. We had no choice though, our girl needed a vet. I called our own vet, and the message said for emergency after hours care call 816– and the number was the same as Blue Pearl. So I called. The woman was very informative with a nice mannerism so we drove there at 5 a.m. When I walked in I was so distraught I frankly asked about the negative reviews. The assistant explained that Blue Pearl had recently taken over. That gave me some relief. From the time we were greeted until the time we left an hour later — without our girl who passed — the female vet and the female assistant were nothing but compassionate, kind, with quiet caring voices. They helped us immensely through the process of putting our 13 yr old girl down. They didn’t charge us an arm and a leg either for the afterhours — less than $ 200 total for everything. I can’t recommend Blue Pearl enough if your pet needs emergency care, please don’t hesitate to call them or go there. Two weeks later, we received a sympathy card, signed by the office staff and our pup’s paw print. This speaks volumes — so amazing! Thank you Blue Pearl!

It’s Christmas Eve and unfortunately my Great Dane ate an entire bag of chocolate chips!
After making several calls, this was the only Vet I could find that was open. I later found out they’re open ²⁴⁄₇ 365 days a year including Christmas Eve and even tomorrow on Christmas Day!
The staff was expecting me when I arrived and took Cloe right back. They kept me updated with every step and were extremely professional and compassionate.
There were a lot of people there and yet no one seemed to have to wait long to be helped.
Also, I expected an emergency vet bill to be enormous and was surprised that it costs no more than a regular vet visit.
I couldn’t be more grateful to have them! My dog is my family and their staff taking time away from their families to help people like me is amazing. Highly recommend them!
