Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lawton-Fort Sill

I’ve stayed at holiday inn a lot because I’m a pcm and I get point. This is below par for HI hotels staff was ok breakfast was ok. The rooms need some work I see this holiday inn will soon become another hotel at some point. I’ll stay only if I can’t get another hotel.

How is it possible to feel more dirty after a shower? The settings seem to be mist, gauntlet of bum spit, and trickle. I actually had to shower at a friends room in another hotel. Disgusting!

I’m a platinum member and I always stay at this Holiday Inn when I visit Lawton for business in Oct and Nov every year. I like this place until this morning. I spoke with the lady at front desk last night and request for late check out at 4:00 pm today Sunday, because I still have to work and I will have late evening flight so I just want to use the shower before I leave. The lady said no problem.
This morning i went to front desk again and the guy name Justin flatly rejected my request. I totally understand that request is just request, they could say yes or no. But the way this guy treat me as the guest was so rude. He could just say oh I’m sorry the hotel is full, etc, etc. He said oh the lady from last night is not manager she cannot give you that blah blah blah. Again I will understand if he explained it politely.
No will not stay at this location again. Next time I visit Lawton I will stay at other hotel. I will stay at this holiday Inn if they don’t know how to appreciate their customer.

Well it’s convenient to the interstate, not to expensive and the front desk person was friendly. The room is clean but has a musty smell. Like the carpet was wet at some point. The privacy curtains have white duct tape on the back to close up the holes. No, I didn’t go looking for that! It was just noticeable due to the amount of tape when I was closing the curtains. Won’t be able to comment on the breakfast since leaving before it starts. Got to get back on the road.

Thieves don’t give them your credit card info they will charge you without authorization

Arrived for check in the front desk woman was very helpful we had a problem with our credit cards but she managed to check us in very happy with the services we were here for graduating so the breakfast is good enough for me basic. Good choices also the room was clean beds were clean I had no problem here great hotel i will be coming back if I have to come to see my brother for any reason!

The physical aspects of the hotel were good, but their desk clerk really spoiled the experience for me. In a nutshell, he was rude and not helpful.
I was supposed to be booked there for 2 nights. A mistake was made, on my part, and it was only made for one night. He told me they could not extend the reservation another night. I asked if I could have a late check out, because I had planned to do some work in my room. He didn’t answer me, just kept staring and typing on his computer. I asked him a second time, he continued to stare & type. Finally he offered to extend it until 1pm (from 12pm). He could have offered that I could work in their lobby… he did not. He also never told me about the amenities the hotel offered. To add insult to injury, housekeeping came banging on my door the next day at 12. He obviously didn’t bother to pass along the message.
I stayed the next night at the Fairfield across the street. There service was excellent! I would recommend going there!

When I arrived at the hotel the hotel was very clean. The girl at the front desk was very friendly. My room was very clean and the beds were very clean and comfortable also pool was very clean, this hotel is very well run. I had problems with my toilet and the maintenance man came immediately. The breakfast bar was well stocked and you couldn’t be treated any better. All I can say is that everybody who works there was friendly I would definitely recommend this hotel

We visited this Holiday Express when my brother graduated from the military at Ft. Sill. Within minutes of us checking in, things went wrong. Let me explain:
We booked two rooms. The first was for my mother, my sister and me. The second was for my little brother and father. As my younger brother was walking past the bed my father was lying on, he noticed that the sheets looked dirty. This prompted my father to get off the bed and inspect the sheets and the mattress. Once the bed was stripped, he found a large blood stain in the middle of the bed. According to my brother, when housekeeping was alerted, one of the staff members suggested that they just turn over the mattress so the stain was on the bottom. To their credit, we were given a new room which was comforting.
The following day, when we returned from visiting with brother, we noticed that the sheets hadn’t been changed. In addition, the night before we checked out, I found two brown stains on one of the pillow cases we had been using. Further inspection of the spare sheets that were in one of the rooms we were using showed that much of the linens had stains on them or smelled poorly.
This hotel needs to undergo a MANDATORY sanitation of EVERYTHING! Better yet, just throw out everything and buy back CLEAN replacements.

As can be seen from other reviews and this one, when this hotel is good, it’s GREAT but it’s also equally bad when it’s BAD. You shouldn’t pay for a hotel and ‘hope’ and ‘wish’ that your sheets will be clean and the service you’re paying for will great. When you’re paying $ 120+ a night, that’s to be expected!

Good hotel. I would stay here again, no problem. Bed was comfortable, room smelled fresh. Staff was good. What more can you ask for at $ 77 bucks a night military rate.

Just fine if you can get a room for a good price, but I wouldn’t consider it the best place to stay in Lawton. I wasn’t too impressed by the breakfast, but it was fine. The bathroom didn’t have any vent/​fan to remove moisture, and as a result the light fixtures were rusted and the paint was peeling off the sheetrock above the shower. Minor cosmetic things, I know, but it’s the little things that make you wonder if you want to spend $ 120/​night on a room or not. The bed had a mattress topper on it that was always lumpy and uncomfortable, and there were no blankets, just sheets and a comforter, making the sleeping temperature hard to control and resulting in three of the four nights there restless for me. However, the room was clean and updated, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Much better than the hotel we had been staying at when we visited Lawton (the Baymont). Overall, our stay was pleasant.

Way to go, Holiday Inn, for being the best hotel in town. I didn’t expect the superior service and friendliness, but it was well-​appreciated. They leave apples in the the bowls of the lobby at all times for a snack and freshly baked cookies. The lobby is welcoming and has the TV on if you just want to hang out. The rooms were comfy with big fluffy pillows and clean crisp sheets. We didn’t wake up in time for the breakfast, but I heard it was good from another guest.

We came here for my brother BCT grad. For 3 nights. We arrived early around 7am and luckily they had a room for us! There was 4 of us and the room was an ok size. Not much to do in Lawton, so i was bored out of my mind! The rooms were clean and staff was nice. They offer breakfast in the morning, which was basic. Thats really it, just a place to sleep!

Went to this hotel while attending our daughters graduation from Fort Sill boot camp.
Appearance: Outside is well maintained, bushes are manicured, entrance is clean, lobby is small but well lit and nice. The entire place has nice and current décor that is tasteful and appealing. The extended lobby is small, doubles as the morning breakfast area, and seats about 40 people. There is a large HDTV and a couple plush couches for lounging. The single elevator is right there.
Rooms are LARGE, we had a 2-​queen bed with a pull-​out sleeper couch, plus a kitchenette with sink, microwave, coffee maker (although I usually stay clear of room coffee), and a small fridge. Bathroom is also large with modern décor and fixtures. Even the air vent was clean (I checked). Countertops are marble and there is a large framed mirror. Beds were new and soft, plenty of pillows. The air conditioner sits below the window and cools the entire room in 15 minutes. Blackout curtains keep the room dark. Good since it was 100 degrees daily. A desk with a nice high-​back chair and CAT5 cables for computers. Several lamps in the room with an electrical outlet on it’s base for charging your stuff.
Check-​In: My reservation was ready and pre-​paid through Expedia, but it seems Expedia booked me a smoking room. I was surprised that hotels still have smoking rooms. I asked for a non-​smoking room but there were no openings since it was a graduation weekend. I grudgingly took this room and found that it smelled pretty bad of smokers. I bought a bottle of FeBreeze to try to cut it down a bit, with no luck. My fault for not checking my reservation details with the hotel and making adjustments early.
**NOTE** The next evening I asked the front desk if there were any last minute changes and non-​smoking rooms open. He offered a non-​smoking handicap room on the same floor — no fuss — no extra charge — that simple.
Staff: All staff were pleasant, courteous, and professional. They had answers to all my questions, and special props for quickly getting a room change without any fuss. Housekeeping was good, smiling, nice. The Morning Breakfast Lady (she would prepare and refill the continental breakfast) was helpful and looked closely after the buffet, keeping it stocked and hot.
Continental Breakfast: open 6am-​10am in the lobby, selection of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, pre-​scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/​gravy, sweet pastries, auto-​pancake maker, juice dispenser, and several types of coffee (although they tasted similar, they were good and hot). Most of the hot foods are pre-​prepared, heated in the galley microwave, so not too exotic. However being free, the price was right.
WiFi: Strong signal, passcode is obtained at the front desk, and my smartphone was always able to connect. Bandwidth was good at all times of the day. No charge!
Seems that there was a management change around April 2012 for the better. The new manager (I never met him but heard good things from the staff) cares about his people and his hotels reputation, and that caring attitude has transferred to the staff, that are seemingly much happier and dedicated.
Location: Close access to highway 44, downtown Lawton is farther away and takes about 10 – 15 minutes to get to based on lights and traffic. If you want to be closer to downtown and the stores/​restaurants, there are closer hotels in town. It’s about 7 minutes to Fort Sill, easy exit to Key Gate.
