Lowe’s Home Improvement

Went to Lowes last night and Amanda treated me so well if you wanted to be treated right at Lowes go see Amanda. Normally when I got to Lowes people are so rude, but I felt welcomed last night. Thanks Amanda your awesome.

There are certain things I go to Lowe’s for: light fixtures & paint. What’s not lovely is the store is limited as far as colors offered by each manufacturer as are the pamphlets. I have to resort to Valspar apps, Instagram, Facebook and website to see all the options. I decide on the colors and proceed. I’m going for grey. I want a warm oatmeal grey. I’ve seen it in real life so I know it exists.
I pick 7 colors similar and get samples. I come home, not only does nothing look like the swatch, they belong in another color class that’s not grey. I do the same again. I get 6 on my next run. Again, not the same. Curses! I’m foiled by Valspar, but why come?! This method worked when I did my kitchen, office & living room. I go online and do a google image of the color plus Valspar. There before me is the colors I wanted, represented by a jillion random pictures from people’s homes. So how pre tell, do I have mauve, pink, purple, burnt sienna when the color was not even supposed to be like that. I’ll tell you how. Your damn paint machine needs to be calibrated and is spewing out a blend of colors that are inaccurate. Those sample paints are like $ 4 each. I have 13… You do the math! I knew I wasn’t color blind. Look Lowe’s get your machine fixed or you will have some angry broke homeowners with paint rollers full of random colors ready to charge forth!
So, contractor is coming tomorrow and I have not a color to put on my walls. I wanted a warm grey. It really shouldn’t have been this hard and cost me $ 50 some odd dollars to not find. Well, I did find the color. A few shades of it. But my Lowe’s is giving me random colors that make no sense. Le sigh.

The lowes in Laurel nickels and dimes its customers over bullshit. They rented me a dirty truck with the gas meter showing a little less than half full claimed it was on half. When I brought it back exactly where they rented it to me I had to go back and forth getting it to a place where it has significantly more gas than when I rented it. Fuck them … Home Depot next time.

I took the Lowe’s survey on my receipt but they had limited characters and I tried to use the website’s automated feedback on the website but that too was limited. I could not find any email address to contact. So here I am on Unilocal.Why not?
My husband and I were at the self-​checkout line since it was the closest line where we were walking from. Also there was only 2 other non self checkout lines open (one all the way at the other end of the store and the other about 4 aisles down form the self check-​out line. We were purchasing a patio umbrella that I was carrying and my husband was carrying the umbrella base.
We tried to scan the bar codes found on the umbrella base box and it was not scanning. There was no gun to use to scan either. We tried to get the attention of the two ladies with the Lowe’s apron on who seem to be the cashiers running the self-​checkout registers. One was leaning on the stack of water bottles and the other had her head turned facing her. We told them we couldn’t scan the box. At this time we didn’t know if the machine had the capability to or this particular item just couldn’t scan it. We asked if there was a gun or could we enter the item number — the lady on the water bottles just shook her head and the other lady stood where she was and said softly that they couldn’t type in the item. Not once did either of them seem to want to stop talking and help us. They didn’t walk towards us or speak to us in a clear way (I could hardly figure out what she was trying to tell us– Looking at their body language, they didn’t want to help us. It wasn’t busy.
It was Memorial Day Monday; there wasn’t a line, not all the self-​checkouts were being used. We were both carrying heavy items and not once did they make a move towards us to help us out or tell us that she can check us out at her register (we’ve had cashiers check us out at the front register when the self-​checkout wasn’t able to check us out before). They just simply wanted us to go somewhere else and have someone else help us. I believe the head cashier was Stephanie. I didn’t get the other lady’s name.
Frustrated, we went to another register, he greeted us, was nice and thanked us. His name is Joe. He’s the only reason I did not put a 2 or 1 on our recent experience at Lowe’s on the survey and the fact we did find what we were looking for.
While we were in line, we saw the two ladies that didn’t help us talk to another employee and said something to her that made all of them look our way and stare. Whether they were talking about us or not — I’m not sure. Either way, it’s rude. My husband and I have both worked in retails stores and other customer service jobs and we know how customers should be treated and helped.
If you didn’t want to work on Memorial Day — then you shouldn’t have.

Returned item that my wife lost the receipt and UPC code. They did not have in stock but allowed me to show them that lowes sold it and they gave me a gift card. Thank you lowes you made it really easy and it’s too bad that not all lowes help like you did.

I I prefer them to Home Depot if I happen to be in the neighborhood, as I find the customer service and prices just a little bit better. Big, well lit, well organized. Pretty good chance you will find what you need,

It is a horriable store, they all walk around burning the clock no one wants to help the manager Bubba playing with the crew menbers, there was an Item in the wrong price tag the Manager said that’s how they Do ?? all because I’m dirty reparing my yard doens’t mean I’m a trying to get over, Man he was so unprofressional .
THAT STORE NEEDS HELP

So we went to Lowe’s in hopes of getting carpet at a reasonable price. I’ve had a couple of big box store installations — an exterior door and a major appliance. Overall, those went well.
I should have immediately stopped the quest when the flooring department at Lowe’s was vacant. There was no call button. We had to manually search half the store to find someone to find the guy that was supposed to be manning the station. At this point, I would usually cut bait, but I guess I am getting softer with the advancing years. Plus, I was with my wife and father-​in-​law, who are both much nicer people than I am and much more tolerant of bad performance. After all, this guy wouldn’t be installing our carpet.
Then, the laborious task of entering a product order into the computer began. Obviously Lowe’s has their D team in on weekend mornings, because this guy had absolutely no computer skills. He tried and failed three times to enter the correct product number for the carpet. Then, he added an extra zero to the quantity, resulting in a quote approaching $ 25,000. Worse yet, he didn’t even notice the exorbitant price tag until we pointed out his error. He tried to start over again, got confused, and had to call a store manager to assist him in what should have been a very simple transaction.
The store manager arrived and had everything worked out in a couple of minutes. He even took us up to the register and waited in the customer service line, which was busy, for us while we looked at other items in the store. We paid, signed the contract, and were on our (for the most part) merry way.
The installer project lead called a couple days later to schedule the install since the carpet came in early. We were glad that we would be getting our basement back a week early. The installers came on time and finished the job very efficiently. However, they did not speak English so they couldn’t really explain what they were doing. They packed up, left, everything looked good. We moved everything back into the basement and thought we were good to go. We installed the baseboards and set everything up. Life was back to normal with the second half of our house reclaimed.
Then, about 3 weeks later, I go downstairs and in the middle of the floor, there’s a big wrinkle. One you could trip on. A few days later, wrinkles are popping up all over the place. The carpet now looks like a puddle after you throw a rock in and let the waves bounce around for a little while.
We called Lowe’s to try and get the situation resolved. The first call was in the evening and we were told that the people who deal with installation problems only work 9 to 5. I’m glad we didn’t have something critical to fix.
We called again in the morning and were directed by a very discourteous lady to a phone that rang and rang and rang and rang — no answer. We called the store again and were transferred to flooring, where our old friend from the D team answered.
My wife explained, verbatim, that «Hello, yes, we had carpet installed a month ago and it is wrinkling and separating from the floor. We need to find out how to get it fixed.» To which our friend replied, and this is absolutely true: «Can you repeat it again?» I watch in awe as my wife explains it slowly and deliberately, as if she were explaining it to a 3 year old child. Apparently, mastery of basic English skills and comprehension are not included as part of Lowe’s extensive interview process.
The D team guy put a note in the computer for Lowe’s to call the installer. Wow, now that’s what I call a satisfying resolution to a customer complaint! He wrote a note! And knowing his computer skills, he probably hit delete instead of save.
In retrospect, the price of the carpet and installation at Lowe’s is not a good deal. Their whole house installation cost is just a gimmick to get you in the door. From now on, I’m going to a local shop even if it is a buck more per square foot. At least places like Aria flooring have knowledgeable people with which you can communicate.
I will update the text of this review if and when Lowe’s takes some action to stand behind their product.

We had a very pleasant shopping experience here. We got an incredible deal. The service at the appliance section was great.
I can see that customer service at the counters could be lacking at times. Honestly though, these big box stores know what they’re doing. Clean bathrooms, great prices, organized well-​lit and well stocked showrooms — I’ll happily give these folks my money.
Just work on getting ur cashiers to smile, say hello & point out where the mailboxes are & you’ll get that fifth star.

Getting worse. This Lowes used to be great. Not sure if the management has changed in the past year or two or what, but they’re less helpful and less available than they used to be.
Here’s the latest: They screw up a delivery. I have to call SEVEN times to finally get to a manager on duty. Then she tells me that I didn’t pay for the item even though it’s clearly listed on the invoice number that I gave her. All in all, it took nearly an hour of my time to fix THEIR mistake. C’mon, folks. This is what I expect from Home Depot, not Lowes.

Multiple issues with the garage door installing company, but the management went out of their way to make it up by cutting the price of garage door openers and a garage door. With the big box home improvement stores you get what you get. For every bad experience I have had. The store try’s to redeem itself by knocking the price down. It works for me.

I generally don’t have a large need for hardware, but living by Lowe’s has proven to be really beneficial. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always available to assist.

Idiots… as far as the eye can see.
I tried to go in looking for an angle grinder with some specific attachments and for 20 minutes there was no one to be found. I decided to called the main phone number and asked the lady for someone in tools. Before I could finish my sentence, she transferred my call to the tool department and the phone rang in front of my face — still with no one in sight. I called back and asked her to page someone in tools, but still no answer. Finally, I found a short spanish lady who claimed to work in the department, who asked me what my issue was. I asked the question which prompted her to say, «Let me check the computer»
Ok, the computer will tell her if an attachment will work for an angle grinder — impressive. After 3 — 4 minutes of waiting around she asks me my zipcode. I watch as she hunt-​and-​pecks away at the keyboard like a toddler trying to match shapes on a Fischer-​Price toy.
And so indeed I was impressed; I was impressed at how Lowe’s is still open with such idiots working in any department. How its possible for ANY store to have such a fool working in a department that could bring in lots of potential cash.
I finally, quite fed up with the experience, asked if she had any co-​workers with tool knowledge that could help out. As I waited, I realized, I was probably wasting my time. I left to look for some other things and as I was leaving the store (25 minutes later) some random dude asked «Is everything ok here?» My response was a simple «What are you talking about?» To which he retorted, «Did you find what you need?» My final response was «Nope»
Come here if you are already an expert on everything you could ever buy and would never have a question. If you do have a question, good luck finding anyone (even tougher time finding a knowledgeable person).

I love hardware/​home improvement centers. The smell of lumber, the tools, the … possibilities.
This Lowe’s is pretty good. It is clean, has good lighting, things are usually where you expect to find them. The staff is attentive and fairly knowledgeable.
To me this is pretty common at most Lowe’s; as opposed to most home depots where the staff is generally more knowledgeable but lack customer service skills.
Lowe’s is almost always cleaner then Home Depot.
I am only going 3 stars because they are providing what I expect with out really exceeding my expectations.

Gotta love Lowes.

The staff here is really polite, and tries their best to answer questions. I’ve sometimes found that fellow customers can often better answer questions, but that’s not surprising. Items are well stocked, and the store is clean. I’d much prefer to come here than the Home Depot on 198.
