CK Grill & Bar

I heard about this place from a recommendation from the Hampton Inn we were staying. In all honesty, that Hampton Inn had some issues with customer service, so I am not really sure why I didn’t take this recommendation with a grain of salt.
This restaurant isn’t bad. It just isn’t good. The service can be a bit slow which I suppose can be expected since our waiter was a child (19 years old). My club sandwich was poorly put together and the whole thing fell apart while I was eating it. Also, who puts a turkey club on ciabatta bread? I couldn’t finish my sandwich and trust me, I eat a lot of food.
The drink menu here cracked me up. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Skinnygirl and Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York. They serve a «Skinny Margarita» and the description here is the EXACT same wording of the back of a Skinnygirl Margarita bottle. Is there some copyright laws going on here???

I see this place all the time when driving on the freeway. Today I had some extra time and decided to give it a try. Being Father’s Day, it was a bit busy… so I ate at the bar. I tried the Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Fries. Both were good in my book. This place has that «diner» atmosphere… with a small bar thrown in. I saw at least two TV monitors in the restaurant and there’s plenty of parking. Overall, I experienced no problems or issues and liked my food. Nothing made this place extra special enough to get 5 stars, but the service was good so I’m giving it 4 stars because I feel it was better than average. I’ll return here again in the future.

Service was great our server was fantastic the food is wonderful and my recommendation is the bar & Buster and when you walk out you’ll be busting but he’s hopeful Restaurant Hood Cleaning facilities clean you couldn’t ask for a better place to stop

We had a wonderful waitress Belinda and a great bartender. Excellent service. The food was very good. We ate here 3 days in a row while staying at the Days Inn next door. Definitely we will be coming back. They have a treasure in Belinda and Irma.

This is now my favorite breakfast restaurant! Very good pancakes and creeps. Didn’t rally like the has Browns as much, too plain. Eggs were very light and fluffy, please keep it that way. I’ll give you a 5 star for very good service, too. But some of the people forgot some food, but otherwise it was delicious! The best place ever!

Lindsey was an excellent bartender. The visit was fabulous. The overall experience was great. Food was great. I have been here before and I will be back again thanks to Lindsey.

Used a Groupon here and to say it was underwhelming would be an understatement. Food here is greasy and tasteless and the service was the only thing that barely saved this place from a 2 star review. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone really, unless you’ve got an incentive to go and try

I am so Glad that Darlene is back! She’s the very best, Fantastic top service, Food is excellent. The pancakes are not as good as they used to be. They used to be the very
best, But now the vary from time to time. Sometimes excellent, Sometimes just O.K. But
Darlene is AWESOME!

I usually don’t write reviews but today I felt I had to. I went in to C. K today for lunch and had the most awesome waitress. Her name was Valerie. She was so easy to talk to and very attentive to my table at all times. My food came out quickly and was very very good. You just don’t get the type of service anymore like Valerie gave me today. The restaurant is very clean and food was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

We eat at CK once or twice a week. We like to eat at the bar and talk to the bar tender Ashley. Ashley is always in a good frame of mind and, makes our visits fun. She makes sure we are taken care of with food and drinks. She makes the bar have a Cheers like atmospher.
The food is good and the beer is cold

I have been there twice in two days. Once for breakfast and twice for dinner. Excellent food and the waitresses, Loreena (breakfast) and Shelly (twice for dinner) were friendly, competent, and had excellent food suggestions for my husband and I. If we pass through this area again, we will certainly be back, especially for the yummy fried cheesecake!

Food was great and our waitress Mallory was excellent and will continue to come back!!!

Great visit, super service. You should give Mallory a raise, she knows how to take care of customers.
Prices were good for what was ordered. No issues with the food, cooked just rght. Coffee was fresh and good.
Don’t know why it took me so long to come back, glad I did and will definitely return.
Use the Unilocal 20% discount while it’s still offered.

If something accidentally slips out of your pocket w/​o you knowing while eating here, make sure it happens when Darlene is around. Darn girl nearly kills herself by jumping over a road railing as i was driving away just to return me pocket knife.
Then she said, «that’s not a knoife… now that a knoife…»

Ck grill is one of our favs! Breakfast here is amazing and always consistent. Service here is always great very outgoing kind staff… Erika was our server today and was prompt with taking our order refilling drinks and checking on us.

I’m going to make a correction to my review only what transpired after I left the restaurant. The manager sent me a message about my review and said it was inaccurate. Everything below is correct except that he offered the gentleman another burger when they spoke. That information was not told to me when we were walking out the door. So he received another hamburger for the inconvenience. It does not change my rating because we all felt the service was poor. If you look at my prior review I have given them better grading in the past. The service before was not bad at all. I do believe that the service this time was do to her being new. I would recommend like many other restaurants do when training a new hire. You allow a experience server to shadow the server for 3 – 5 days until she signs off that they are ready. I would also only five them 3 tables of four or less at a time for the first week and build them up to 5 – 6 tables. Just my recommendation, she would have benefited tremendously by this and not having a 6 top.
Oh boy, where do I begin. We arrived at 11:00 AM and were a party of six. We were seated in the station that had at the time only three tables that included us. Both tables already had been served and so our waitress only had to deal with our table. She took our order and we advised her that it would be separate tickets. Throughout The next 10 minutes she came back-​and-​forth checking on what we ordered to confirm. We finally received the order probably about 20 to 25 minutes later and some of the order was incorrect most of us didn’t worry about it but one of the gentleman’s order was completely wrong. He ordered a double bacon burger with no sauce, it was drenched with barbecue sauce on both patties. He so upset, at first he tried taking off the sauce but there was just too much and it got all over his french fries.
The waitress was really having a hard time keeping up, she was given another table of four and it was just becoming too much for her. The gentleman that got the wrong order was visibly upset he just pushed his food aside and the rest of us started to eat. We had waited so long that it was impossible for him to order another lunch, so he decided after we ate he was going to a fast food place to get him a hamburger.
When she finally was able to get back to us and bring our tickets they were all wrong, we advised her they were supposed to be separated which took her a couple times to figure that out. Then I gave her my credit card with my ticket and five minutes later she comes back and she had mixed up the credit cards with all the tickets. She had to re-​do the tickets to the right credit cards and bring them back. The gentleman that ordered the hamburger was given a ticket for his chocolate shake and that just made the situation worse. He finally went and got a manager and told him he refused to pay for his order after the horrible service we have gotten.
I ended up tipping her anyways because I do understand that the servers are responsible for their taxes and their charge based on the amount of charges they have for the day. We found out before leaving the waitress had only been there for three days and it clearly showed she was really becoming frazzled the more the gentleman with the hamburger got upset so the rest of the table tried to just get through it to not make it any worse than what already was. By the time we left it was 12:30pm.

Have been here a few times now, as it is 2 mins from our house and we would rather go here then Denny’s and that’s about it for breakfast places here in Lathrop. Waitresses are fairly good and nice. Food is good. Get good portions. And they just updated their menus. Love when places do that since if your a regal you like to have the choice of new food. Will be going back.

ONLY reason I ate here tonight… I had to use a Groupon before it expired!
Otherwise I would rather go to Denny’s.

I have eaten here twice now in the last few months. The service… stellar!
The food… read on.
Iced tea. So very weak. If I wasn’t getting a deal I would have sent it back.
French Onion soup. So very weak also! It is a highlighted item on the menu so you would expect that maybe it would be something special. It needed a much stronger tasting base. Other than that, it was pretty much made correctly. It contained onions, croutons, topped with a layer of toast and swiss cheese. I would not order it again.
Chicken strip appetizer. Nothing different than you would get in the frozen section of Costco and heat up at home. Comes with your choice of dipping sauce.
Ruben sandwich… Corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing on rye bread. Quite good. Taste and texture was good. I would order it again.
Sweet potato steak fries. Really good. Served up fresh and hot. Slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Others had a more positive experience than I had ordering other items from the menu but for me, not enough reasons to return.

This was just your average local dinner spot, a local version of Denny’s with a varied menu and something that will suit just about every taste. The restaurant itself was pretty dead on a Thursday night at about 8pm, but the small bar was very full with what seemed to be locals so it must be a popular stop. Overall we not disappointed and not overly impressed but given that there was not much of anything near by this seemed to be the best option.
