I ordered online and want to pick up at 2:30PM. However when I got here, around 2:36PM. they totally forgot my order and ask me to wait for a few more minutes. If they don’t check their online pick up orders, then what the point to have it ?!

I don’t miss a lot about Vegas since moving, but I miss these guys all the time. I ordered so often that the wonderful young woman who always answered recognized me on the phone just by my order. They’re always so friendly and fast here. They’ll help you customize your order so you can get exactly what you want. My toddler is super picky, but she would happily scarf down the udon noodles and the chicken katsu. Try their calamari! It was always made PERFECTLY. Their thai tea is fantastic too!

The food is explosive with flavor, always fresh, always delicious, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The only thing I don’t like is that they charge extra for spicy level, isn’t that why I’m getting curry? But whatevs. It’s only 50 cents and well worth it. Plus, the lady at the front counter(I’m sorry I can’t remember her name, but she’s ALWAYS there) is so damn nice and always is accommodating and pleasant. Japanese curry is now my favorite because of this place. Try the gyoza, hell, get two orders. Trust me, you’re going to want them both :-)

What a good find. I kept it simple for my first time. Just chicken Katsu. I asked for level 5 spice thinking it was medium because they go up to 10. But she recommended 3 and so 3 it was. Unless you are REALLY wanting something super spicy, I would also say stick to 3 at most. The curry was delicious, all in all, it’s quick, simple, yummy, and very filling. And plenty of ways to mix it up.

supposedly this is a more simpler version of the zen curry on spring mountain. I see similarities, but the katsu is soft instead of crunchy after being fried. the rice is watery. they present the curry in a narrow, bowl-like, oval plate which leaves less space for food. The sauce seeps into the rice, and I don’t like so much sauce at once. It depends on you, how you prefer to eat curry. at the original zen restaurant, the plates are larger and it is much more satisfying to eat curry with. more room, less mess, and overall better presentation. love zen, don’t love the zen express though :(

Average and overpriced. The sausage and pork katsu was dry. The food is made with no care. Disappointing.

We order from this location at least twice a week — great price, quick service and always piping hot. Spice level can vary regardless of what you order but it’s a niggling detail. The portions generally run towards generous, the brown and white rice is excellent and made very well. I’ve also eaten in at the other location and it’s a nice clean joint.

This place is in the same shopping center as jennipho on rainbow. Interior had updated furniture and customer service was very good. I ordered the regular fried chicken breast curry and a side of fried squid. Spice level at 3. It was not bad but I think this got nothing on coco ibichaya curry house. I think that the chicken would be better battered with a little beer to make it more savory. Otherwise I would come back for the fried squid.

Great service. Excellent Curry. If you have spent any time in Okinawa, this will remind you of Cocos. We have eaten here, taken it to go and have also called it in so that it was ready for us. I normally order the Chicken Katsu Curry, Spice level two… with cheese and a salad with sesame dressing. Never disappoints.

Convenient location for the people living in the SW area of Las Vegas providing quick and easy japanese curry cuisine. This is the first time I’ve been to this location. My friend had ordered it by app previously and scheduled for pick-up at 1130. I had arrived a few minutes before 1130 to the food was still being prepared. For the most part, everything was prepped and ready on time. Only downside is i wish they would have double bagged the bag with the 3 curry udon. One bag was kind of weak which caused one of the handles to break and drop on the ground. Luckily the containers are fairly sturdy so minimal sauce was loss. On the bright side, everything was nice and hot(also the reason why i didnt carry from the bottom because it was HOT). The udon was a bit overcooked(not sure if it was due to the travel time to pick up some drinks at a nearby place or it was overcooked originally. Otherwise, typical japanese curry. Too bad they do a slight extra charge for spice. Would have loved to have it spicy(me being a cheap chinese and i wasnt the one ordering… forgot to state it oops) Previous to visiting this location, i for some reason thought this was a to-go only location but upon entering the location, they have some small tables spread around. Good for small parties looking for a quick lunch.

This is my go to place whenever I want my Chicken Katsu Curry fix. Always get the Chicken Katsu Curry level 3 with a side order of Takoyaki. I usually go to the one in Chinatown, but now I’m going to start coming to this location. Clean area. Friendly staff. Great food.

This place was so good! We got the curry udon, curry ramen, tofu katsu, and fried oysters. Everything was made to order and it was amazing!!! The soup were a bit plain because it’s literally just curry water and noodles… I should have gotten rice or more toppings. Maybe I just don’t know how to order here haha! Everything tasted really good and is priced pretty fairly. We paid about 25 $ for everything which is nice. We got to take our food to go in the cutest containers! They serve everything in to go containers which is cool cause if you can’t finish, it’s grab and go. The restaurant was tasteful and really cute and homey. I will be back! I absolutely love the location and the workers there were very welcoming.

I was driving around to find something to eat and I saw this place, which is pretty close to my house. The menu has many options and I asked the employee at the front of what does she recommend to me since it’s my first time here. She recommends the Chicken Katsu with curry and add on with vegetables so I decided to try that. The add ons are like $ 1 – 2 extra though so my meal added up to about $ 13. There’s also spice level from 1 – 10 and I tried 3. The portion was pretty big and 3 is definitely spicy enough for me, so be careful of what spice level you choose! It was pretty good and I was full fast. I even took a to-go box for my leftovers. The girl employee(which I forgot to ask for her name) provided great customer service and I appreciated that. Next time I would like to try their ramen, it sounds good!

My go to place when I’m too lazy to cook. My favorite is the spinach katsu curry. I usually get it with medium spice. Sometimes when I want to sweat I’ll take it to the max. Wonder if I’m burning any calories with all that sweat. For my daughter, I usually get her a side order of katsu and rice. It under $ 6 so that’s a cheap good dinner. I recommend calling ahead if you plan out take out.

I really like this curry zen. They’re a bit small, but it’s doable. They have awesome service and the food quality is just as great as the original Curry Zen. I like their set up and it’s very clean on the inside.

I’ve been to curry zen too many times to count, mainly because I love their prices, their food tastes good, and I can always get in and out for a quick lunch. But this location has its problems. First is the open view of the kitchen, which kinda spoiled the magic for me. Seeing them microwave unwashed vegetables… Kinda gross. Then there’s the fact that half the time there’s a funky smell in the place that smells like a gross mixture of sanitizer of methane.

I’d given up on finding good ramen on this street after hearing so many disencouraging things about nearby Omoide. I guess I was wrong to lose faith. Curry Zen Express is an outpost of Japanese Curry Zen on Spring Mountain that appears to serve most if not all of the same products. However, it is to-go oriented, as evidenced by the lack of «proper» dinnerware. Everything is served with plastic disposable bowls/plates and utensils, even if you’re eating in. That’s not a big deal as long as the food is good and the condiments are sufficient, both of which certainly are the case. I saw Curry Pan($ 2.00) on the counter under a clear plastic cover. Having read words of praise for this item from the original restaurant but having never tried it before, I had to order one now. They offered to(re-)heat it, which I eagerly accepted, and it arrived at the table warm and fresh-tasting. With a crunchy breaded exterior and a savory veggie curry filling, it’s not lifechanging, but it’s a yummy appetizer /side dish that you should try at least once. Instead of going for the traditional curry, I went for the«new» curry ramen($ 8.95), which I later realized was on the other menus as well. Still, it sounded like a great idea on a cool, windy day, and the curry broth proved eventually to be every bit as flavorful and spice-filled as their signature curry. I again struggled with the #3(+$ 0.20 for levels 1 – 5) out of 10 heat level, with sweat almost dripping from my head at times. It’s a tough life with that spiciness sensitivity(#firstworldproblems), but it’s fortunate that I don’t have to pay more for the higher spice levels. As for the other components, I was happy enough with the firmness of the thick noodles, and I enjoyed the various veggies in the bowl too. I did suffer a slight disappointment upon noticing that the pork comes as thinly sliced portions of meat that have absolutely zero relation to pork belly, much less chashu. Judging this dish as a ramen, it’s good but not the best. But as a curry dish, it’s a very good variant. Just make sure to add fukujinzuke(the red-colored sweet pickled daikon) to add some necessary depth of flavor. This complimentary condiment complements the curry the same whether it comes as a thinner ramen broth or the thicker standard form. I will certainly be back to Curry Zen Express soon to enjoy their curry with rice and protein. Judging from the curry flavor of the ramen, I’m almost certain it will be the same quality as the original. Furthermore, this location does have a key advantage over the other one: it’s across the street from the unparalleled Gelatology and a block away from the best-in-town Brew Tea Bar. The frozen dessert spot and the milk tea /coffee shop next to Japanese Curry Zen just don’t match up.

This place has really good curry. I ordered here yesterday thru Unilocal’s app called Eat24. It was awesome! So convenient. It lets you check the status of your order and gives an estimated time of pick. Also, if you order online from their website, you get 15% off and if it’s thru Eat24, you get $ 2 off. The spiciness of the curry is one of the things that I like about this place. I usually get 8 when I order food at like Thai restaurants. But at this place I can only handle 5 – 6 spice level. It’s really good and the portions are huge.

I’ve never eaten inside the restaurant, and usually pick up food on the way home from work. You can order from Unilocal,or use their app(10% off the first order), and they send you an email to confirm what time your order will be ready. This is really convenient and the ordering process takes just a couple minutes max. The staff at the counter are friendly. If you do plan to eat here, there is seating. What to order, you guessed it… Curry. You can have it anyway you want with all the options they have: Chicken, Pork, Vegetables, Noodles, Rice, and so on. What we get is: Chicken Katsu Spicy 5 – 7 Add fried egg, vegetables, extra sauce, and almond slivers & raisins on the side. With all of this food, it is enough for 2 people to share, or you can just save for leftovers. We’ll be back this soon since this has become a weekly pick up staple for us.

Alright if you know of Zen Curry you probably already know they’re probably one of the better Japanese style curry we have in town, than again that’s only my opinion based on a slim selection I’ve tried. My favorite at least. This location is a bit different from the other location but nothing to serious about. First the price for the curry spice level shot up. It’s no longer free for levels 1 – 5 and 20¢ for levels 6 – 10. It’s 20¢ for levels 1 – 5 and a nickel more for every level higher. So if you wanted a 10 it’s now 45¢ extra instead of 20¢. Second their express mentality. You now have to place and pickup your order at the counter and you find an open seat or take it go. I would find an open seat before you order if its not slow. You’re food is now served in a to go container instead of a non-disposable plate. They started using those styrofoam containers but the last couple times there they were using some plastic containers. I’d rather have it on a plate especially if I’m dining in. Instead of each table having a full assortment of toppings and spices to add to your curry theres just one used by everyone. The most you’ll get in terms of customer service is when your at the counter or if you need more water, if it’s not to busy they might come to your table. Thats about the only difference. The food taste the same to me and besides the spice levels prices the prices look the same. The curry sauce is delicious on its own. I like it HOT. At this location I’ve gotten spice level 5 and a couple of 8s. It made me sweat a little but didn’t put my mouth on fire it was just right. Next I’ll probably go with the 10 or see what’s the hottest they’ll make it without killing the taste. The curry can be served with a nice selection ingredients. You can throw some vegetables in it or various meats, chicken, pork, beef, sausage, and even spam. There’s also other items which I’ve never had here yet. Honestly I wished price was a little lower and the meat portions was a little larger but they’ve grown on me and I like it, not amazing but good food.
