Violet Hour Hair Nails Beauty

I have been to many salons in Las Vegas, being a local. I go to another salon regularly. I chose to come to this salon because of an event I was going to at this hotel and also had a room at this hotel. The salon is very pretty. The quality, on the other hand, is bad. I started out with a pedicure and a manicure. The pedicure was OK and nothing to write home about. The manicure was also OK. She did a decent job. The problem is when I got to hair. I wanted my hair to be styled in the voluminous fashion with free-​flowing curls for an evening event. Basically, it’s the type of hair that you see walking down the runway when someone has their hair down with pretty curls at the ends. It is also the hair that most women will wear when they go to an event at night so it’s common and easy to do if you go to a professional stylist. The professional stylist I was given clearly has to learn how to do this better. Not only did she make me look like Jackie O instead of model like hair going down the runway that is free-​flowing, but the hair didn’t stay and flattened very quickly into nothing. This has never happened to me before at any other salon on the strip. Therefore, I will not be coming back to the salon to ever have my hair done again. I plan on going back to my regular salon and driving back to the hotel I’m staying at if it is not where my salon is. I will not be recommending the salon to friends because they were much better ones out there. It is also important to note that I explain to this hairdresser that I want minimal to no hairspray in my hair as it stays in great shape when it’s just styled naturally with the brush and a blow dryer, the way my hairdressers do it. She put enough hairspray in my hair to light a skyscraper on fire! I had to restyle my hair prior to the event. This is why I only gave this salon two stars.
A couple of days after, the large toenail on my right foot started becoming ingrown because of the way in which it was caught at the salon. I have a friend who is a podiatrist and they cut the toenail properly for me, explaining that the pedicure was done by a person who is clueless about how to properly cut toenails.
The salon is grossly overpriced and does not deliver the quality for the price paid.

This place is awesome! I came to get my hair done for a special occasion and ended up staying and getting my makeup done too. Jessica did my hair in a half up half down look and it was amazing. Emily did my makeup and it was perfect the entire night. Definitely want to come back next time I’m in Vegas!

Brandon is amazinggg!!! Came in june 2015 for an appt best colorist hands down! Very knowledgeable and listens to what you want. He goes above and beyond. I could go on and on about how great he is… wish I lived in vegas just so he could be my regular stylist:) I’ll just have to settle for my yearly visits to cosmo. I will Def schedule my trips when I need color touch ups.

My stylist was great and I felt like she understood quickly what I needed. The hair color product they use is the best I’ve ever had. It was gentle, but very effectively covered my grays and did not fade over time.
You get a free pass to the spa area before your appt. which was a bonus.

I’m a very impulsive nut, the day before leaving for Vegas I was beyond irritated with my overgrown bangs, unable to wait few more weeks for standing appt. You know what’s coming. I chopped myself. Bad plan– worse job. So in Vegas I had literally 30min to find an unknown hairdresser, beg them to take me as a walk in, and do whatever they could to fix «this» for a formal evening of events. They came through on all accounts, I was/​am giddy pleased with my new do. Wonderful wonderful staff.

I found this place on Unilocal and now I will correct some misinformation. Violet Hour is not worth the money.
I’ve never heard of paying $ 180 for a regular manicure and a regular pedicure.
Regular polish.
I cannot get over that.
It doesn’t matter that they used the best products in the world to massage my feet.
They told me that a regular nail place wouldn’t massage my feet the way they do and that’s why they cost more.
Let me tell you. I got my nails done at my salon at home (in Chicagoland) and it cost $ 25 (for just a manicure before tip) and they massaged my hands and forearms just fine.
I think $ 25 is an expensive manicure.
$ 180 is nuts.
When I called to make the appointment they asked for my credit card number in case I didn’t show up. I didn’t think anything of it.
They should have told me that it would cost $ 85 for my pedicure and $ 65 for the manicure and that they would include a 20% tip. They should have disclosed that.
Get over yourself Violet Hour. You’re not all that. I want my money back.
P. S. There’s a Unilocal check-​in offer for Champagne. They give you wine or Champagne anyway.

Super happy today with my wax by the gorgeous Emily. Me and my armpits thank you! !! Hahaha my skin is very happy. no pain. And she’s totally gorgeous and really chill.

I come to Vegas at least 3 times a year and always at least get a blow-​out, if not a cut when I arrive in hopes of not having to deal much with my hair for the few days I am here. Well, that certainly did not happen this time. I had had my hair cut one time before by Brandon, and was not too impressed in that my hair felt dirty and didn’t last very well. But, Brandon was such a sweetheart that when I arrived this last time I decided to give him another try for a blow-​out. Bad decision. The style was so contrived, with pieces being sprayed into place, that I didn’t have a good feeling when I left. Upon seeing me, my boyfriend actually laughed. thus reinforcing my opinion of the finished product. It only got worse, my hair was staticky, dull, and felt dirty and like straw. My appointment was late afternoon, and by the next morning I was in a ponytail. I wanted to cry. I honestly don’t know if it is the products or the technique, or a combination of both, but I can honestly say this was the worst I have ever had in my years of coming to Vegas. I am mad that I paid the $ 85 I did… and even tipped (based on his personality) all for nothing. I could have done better myself. I definitely will not be back. We all know how important hair is to a woman. Needless to say, this really put a damper on my mood for the remainder of our Vegas stay. :-(

I got my hair cut by Brandon and he did an amazing job! I simply showed him a picture of what I wanted and asked if it was possible for my type of hair. He was honest in saying that it may look a little different for me than the celebrity, but he can definitely make it work. We had a great conversation as he chopped away. Although the Cosmo spa/​salon is mostly for hotel guests, I’m seriously considering splurging every now and then and becoming a regular for the fantastic cut and service.

Wow! Just got the best blow out from Jaque! She has wonderful personality! Loved the extra touches like the massage chairs during the shampoo, Rodney Strong red wine, and beautiful interior design!

I’m personally such a brat when it comes to my hair and I know this. My poor hair — it has gone through everything. Being an Asian that once had platinum blonde hair to dark hair to light hair hair and dark hair again, to having every kind of extensions — tape, beads, braid. I’m the worst (I’m sorry hair). However, this place is the best and one of my worst habits! I can’t stop coming here! Every now and then I’ll try to go somewhere else to try something new and it NEVER turns out right. Violet hour is the absolute BEST!!!
Anyways, long story short — Jessica Carr. Book her for your blow out and style. For color, ask for Tommy.

This review only describes my experience with the ‘nail’ part of this salon…
The salon is nice and front desk staff polite. However I have a few issues with the services…
I was a guest staying at the Cosmo for my wedding. I had booked an appointment for a mani/​pedi over the phone a month prior, to which they didn’t discuss any prices until they took my credit card details to secure it and only because I asked. I was informed it would come to a total of $ 140 (they didnt mention tax or gratuity).
When I arrived, they told me they would take an imprint of my credit card, including 20% gratuity, but wouldn’t charge my card, and would only charge it after the mani/​pedi and that I could reduce the gratuity if I felt the need.
The woman who greeted me to do my mani/​pedi was friendly enough, but made me feel rushed when I was selecting my colour. I was being slightly picky, as I wanted the colour to match my bouquet for my wedding the next day, however it was my wedding, plus I was paying $ 140, so I should be allowed to take a little time to ask for advice on polish shouldn’t I?
The mani/​pedi itself was fine, relaxing enough and the spa products were divine. I was happy with those, the scrub was fantastic!
When it came to painting my nails, I felt the woman rushed the job, the second coat of colour was a lot thicker than the first and didnt cover the whole nail, so it ended up uneven and amateurish. I was really disappointed, so when it came time to settle my bill, I changed the gratuity to 15%, then was told, ‘oh someone has already charged your card and taken the 20%, I’ll have to reverse it’. I DID NOT authorise that charge. Businesses can’t just charge your card for the whole amount of something without you knowing, that’s just not right!
What’s worse is when I got back to my room, I checked the Spa menu to see what other services they offered and found that they had just given me the most expensive mani/​pedi treatment without offering any alternatives when I booked over the phone from Australia. Instead of telling me what kinds of services they offered, they went ahead and booked the most expensive one, resulting in me paying $ 180 for a mediocre mani/​pedi, that I was really disappointed with for my wedding and that began chipping three days later!
Would not recommend!

I recently had my wedding party at Cosmopolitan, and I booked Brandon for a Bohemian updo. He was ahhmazing. Such a sweet guy, quiet, and modest. A very talented artist. I highly recommend.

I needed a last minute appointment to have my hair washed and styled for my mans bday dinner this past weekend and I had the pleasure of having Brandon as my stylist. He was soo nice and easy to get along with. He knew exactly what I wanted and even asked to see what my dress looked like to match the hairstyle. I would highly recommend him. See you next time I’m back in Vegas

This place is a stunning sanctuary in Las Vegas. We went in for mani/​pedis and the gals were wonderful, EXTREMELY TALENTED, and very very kind. Jennifer is extraordinary! My cuticles were a disaster and she gave me a great manicure that helped heal my poor hands and had some very sage advice to keep them healthy. Really great experience, highly recommended!

Violet Hour in The Cosmopolitan is a beatiful salon, white, bright, and a whole lot of light, but all is for not if you don’t have a good hair stylist. Lucky for me, I was in the hands of a great hair stylist, Brandon. I let Brandon know that I was looking for a new hairstyle and after a little hair feedback, he went to work. When Brandon was done, there was an ear-​to-​ear grin on my face and couldn’t have been happier with the end result. Out with the old do and in with the new do, thank you Brandon.

Just got my hair shampooed and styled at this salon. The people are friendly! Great service!

I am a fan of everything but the price tag. I have been a client of Brandon since way before his spiffy days at Violet. He is a talented artist. He does things with my hair others talk about doing. As a colorist he is very good and as a stylist, even better. The salon is beautiful and the massage chair you get while they shampoo your hair is heaven!!!

At Voilet Hour you get what you pay for, excellent care and service. 5 Star.
For your hair cut, Ask for Brandon. As a client for years, I couldn’t ask for a better hair style, or a professional who keeps up-​to-​date knowledge and skill.

First off, in the spirit of full disclosure, I work at The Cosmopolitan, which is where Violet Hour is situated, but fret not fellow Unilocalers for the following words are at once sincere and a downright accurate representation of my experience as a customer.
Okay, let’s talk nails. Yes, gentle readers and lifelong friends, the once rugged and traditionally manly person behind the words thou art reading at this moment has gone full metro — replete with manicured nails, groomed brows, textured and dimensionally colored hair, and paraffin-​dipped mitts.
Back to nails… Jennifer Le is awesome personified. An expert technician, she made my hands look and feel better than they ever had. But more importantly, Jennifer made me feel at ease in an environment I wasn’t accustomed to. What’s more, she took the time to get to know me. It was a fantastic experience.
And now for hair… Andeen Rose-​Clark is a master at her craft. I remember running into her shortly before opening The Cosmopolitan back in December. She took a look at my hair, which was «buzzed and faded» at the time, and asked how I felt about it. I mentioned that my hair had been really short for the better part of two decades, mostly because I was under the impression that my mane had to be that short or Liu Kang long to look good. She encouraged me to grow it out and to give her a shot at showing me what could be done. I agreed.
Fast forward to a couple months later. I found myself sitting in Andeen’s chair uncertain about what was to come. Keep in mind that up until that point, all of my haircuts were essentially done by yours truly in the comfort of my home or by a barber in my neighborhood. I had no clue what I was in for!
Like Jennifer Le, Andeen did a phenomenal job of making me feel at ease. She took the time to learn as much as she could about my lifestyle, my appetite for styling, and to teach me a couple of things about my own hair. I left the salon that day with a hairstyle I love and a new commitment to (and appreciation for) spending time in high-​end salons.
In the end, Violet Hour is as good as it gets.
