Dr. Hom is a board certified pediatrician as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She practices with Dr. Oshiro and PNP Cerdan who are also board certified. We are accepting new patients. We do newborn care, check ups/​physicals, circumcision, shots/​immunizations and same day appointments. We are located on the southeast corner of Eastern Ave. and Harmon Ave. Harmon is between Flamingo and Tropicana. We accept most insurances as well as all medicaid plans-​Amerigroup, Magellan (straight medicaid), and Smart Choice. We also see patients who do not have any insurance (cash pay).

History

Established in 1996.

Oshiro Pediatrics was started in 2000 by Andrew Oshiro, MD. From 1996 – 2000, he worked at the MGM Family Medical Center which was the onsite medical clinic at the MGM Hotel in Las Vegas. His wife, Vicki Hom, MD joined Oshiro Pediatrics in early 2001. She had worked at Nellis Air Force base as a pediatrician from 1996 – 1999 and at Prem Pediatrics in Las Vegas from 1999 – 2001. In mid 2009, PNP Cerdan joined the practice.

Vicki Hom, MD FAAP was born and raised in New York City. She went to Stuyvesant High School. She did her undergraduate work at Harvard University, majoring in biology and graduating magna cum laude. She went to medical school at Tufts University in Boston. She joined the United States Air Force in 1990. She did her pediatric residency at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. She moved to Las Vegas in 1996 and worked at Nellis Air Force Base as a pediatrician until 1999. She left the Air Force with a rank of Major. She joined Prem Pediatrics in 1999 and worked there until 2001. She is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She joined Oshiro Pediatrics (and her husband) in 2001. After working together for the last 13 years, they are still married! They have two children, aged 16 and 11 years old.
