Shepherd Eye Center

I had a good experience here. I called on a Tuesday and they gave me an appointment for Thursday afternoon of the same week. I was in and out of there in one hour and Dr. Noll was kind and calm. The rest of the staff was cheerful and polite.

I LOVE Shepherd Eye center, they are wonderful. I am giving big thanks to all the employees at Shepherd Eye Centers, and I have been to all locations… the Best eye doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and having eye surgery from is Dr. Alder and I also want to commend Dr Hummel. The employees that I got their names are Lisa B., Sanaz, Nannett, Lisa W. Dawn, Susan, Marcia, Ineka, Dee, Marc, Clarence, Laura, Dennis and many I didn’t get their names, they are wonderful, fantastic and a pleasure working with. This is the best Eye center I have ever been to. This location is the surgery center, and is always busy, but I was patient and pleasant and was treated the same. Julie the marketing director was even nice, and took time out of her busy schedule to talk to me, because I was so impressed with the efficiency of the group. I know people get impatient, but when the care is so exemplary, it is good to be patient and get good results. I would not want any surgeon to be in a hurry. The girls try to get you in and out asap, but I wouldn’t criticize unless you walk a mile in their shoes. It is not easy to deal with big groups of people, who all want special attention, and the employees here do a fantastic job.
Thank you Shepherd Eye center. I can see without my glasses and it was the least expensive lens for my cataract surgery.

This is the worst place for my eye care. Because of my insurance I have been going to this office for years and they treat me (and others) like cattle, starting with the receptionist, followed by those medical assistants & the doctors themselves, get in quickly, leave asap and pay, pay, pay. For the last 4 yrs. I told one of their «doctors» that I was diagnosed as a candidate for glaucoma, yet every year she dismissed this opinion by a highly qualified ophthalmologist in NYC. That woman doctor never spent over 5 minutes checking my eyes. A short time ago I went for my annual and saw another doctor, who found something wrong with my eyes, but he didn’t dilate or anything, instead he referred me to another one of their doctors (another trip, more expense for me). I went back and as it is customary in that place he was in a hurry, he told me I needed surgery and left the office. When I checked out they gave me an order for surgery written in an illegible handwriting and nobody explained to me anything about the surgery itself, the pros and the cons, side effects, or anything. I am keeping the details should I decide to bring legal action. Las Vegas does not attract highly qualified doctors and this is why prominent locals go to major cities for their health care.

We had to take my niece and nephews here for routine vision checkups and glasses rxs. The staff were impatient and condescending. There was a ridiculous wait and there’s nothing for the kids to do in the waiting room for HOURS. The doctor wasn’t personable and I will NOT be taking the kids back here again.

Most of the doctors are very good (with the exception of a Dr. Noll, (sp?). He has to be the rudest, most unprofessional I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The rest I have no complaints with. But this review is not about the doctors. This is about how positively horrendous Shepherd Eye Center’s customer service is, specifically returning phone calls: they don’t!!! It’s also about providing medical records to other doctors: they don’t!!! On numerous occasions I have complained about making numerous calls and leaving voice messages… none of which get returned. My latest issue is about having medical records provided to another eye doctor (who made 3 requests and still has never received anything). Without a doubt Shepherd has the worst patient customer service of any eye doctor facility in Las Vegas. I do recommend their doctors but nothing else. Be forewarned: if you call or need anything, don’t expect any satisfaction.

I have nothing but praises to give regarding my experience today with the entire staff at Shepherd. From the girl who made my same day appointment over the phone, which is pretty impossible these days, to the girl at the end. I was greeted immediately with a smile by a gentleman who registered me, then saw 4 technicians total, the dr. and then was helped further by the check out girl. Dr. Taylor was amazing. He was very thorough and had a great sense of.humor. I was in and out within an hour, which included my eyes being dilated. I look forward to coming back for my yearly exam and definitely recommend him if you are looking for someone new or aren’t happy with your current eye specialist. I was pleasantly surprised with how great everyone was.

I cannot believe that this office has 2 stars. I have been coming to the office for years and have never been shown anything less than the top quality care providable. Dr.‘s Reddy have been my doctors for over a decade and have always been kind, helpful, and professional. I stand firm by my belief that Sheperd Eye Center provides the best eye care in town! Go nowhere else!

What a joke this place is and dr. noll is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor i have ever seen in my life… this place is just a mill where they just churn people in and out, i wouldnt go to shepperd eye center if they were the last place in town. Then after i complained to the Woman in charge, less than a week later I get a certified letter in the mail telling me, I, m not welcome at their facility anymore… Wild horses couldnt drag me back… I also read another complaint farther on down, where someone wrote down the contents a certified letter they got and it was the same letter i got, telling them not to come back… this place is a big JOKE…

I’m giving Shepherd Eye Center one star because there isn’t anything lower. This is NOT the place for you if you’re looking for quality or customer service. As a previous poster said, this place is interested in your money, that’s it.
I got a pair of glasses here for the first time 2 years ago. About 4 months ago I noticed there was «something» on one of the lenses that wouldn’t come off. Then «something» on the other lens. I find it very uncomfortable seeing something in front of my eyes when I try to read or watch TV which is when it’s the most noticeable. I keep my glasses very clean and never let anything touch them to cause a scratch so I was puzzled by these things that kept creeping up. While at another optometrist office last Saturday, I asked them about the lenses on my glasses. She looked at them and said that what I was seeing was the UV coating coming off the lenses. A closer look and I could then see what she was talking about. The UV coating is actually peeling off the lenses leaving splotches all over the glass.
Today the people at Shepherd told me that I wasn’t eligable for new lenses because the one year warranty had run out. I told them that the lenses I paid $ 375 for (and that’s for the lenses alone) were now defective and why wouldn’t they stand behind their own work? I was told the warranty had ended and they weren’t liable to do anthing about it. Nice. I was also told that «most people get new lenses every year.» Are they kidding me? Who spends $ 200 to $ 400 a year for new lenses? They stood their ground and refused to do anything and she walked away!!! Refused even to give me a price break on new lenses. I’ve been wearing glasses for over 55 years and the UV coating peeling off has NEVER happened.
Needless to say, if you want customer service go somewhere else, preferably a small, independant optometrist or better yet, the place I got great eyeware service: Sam’s Club. They stand behind every thing they do. But stay away from Shepherd.
I told a friend about my experience a few hours ago and she told me that she went there once, and never again. Same customer service stuff I just went through.
I wish I had been able to read these reviews before going to Shepherd Eye Center.

Supposed specialists my A double S … I’m extremely disappointed with Sheppard Eye Center and recommend you to go anywhere but them. We have lived in LV for 48 years and at one time Sheppard had a good name. It is a cattle herd!!! Payment is their only concern“NOT YOUR EYES”. If you are without insurance you pay full fee «unless they grant a reduced rate» not only will they expect payment for the emergency fee, appointment fee and each follow-​up etc. If for whatever reason the medicine did not work the first time you must be seen and pay again. I’ve been in there 3 times now and my eyes are worse. The first visit $ 100.00 diagnosed as acute
Blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelash follicles, along the
edge of the eyelid. The cause is overgrowth of the bacteria that is
normally found on the skin.
Given prescription ointment 6xdaily and told to use refresh drops 6 to 8xdaliy. Follow up was to be two weeks (come to find out at another cost of $ 100). One week after the first visit I asked to get in earlier than the follow-​up. Well got in under emergency visit and now the eyes are diagnosed as TOXIC Blepharitis. Now I leave with a new prescription for Methylpred to take over 6 days. Finished off the 6^th day medicine on Wednesday and the following morning eyes now swollen shut. Again I return to see if they can prescribe alternative medicine because the previous ones «did not fix the original problem». Their response… No, not unless I pay another $ 100 (made a point to say they’ll provide me a payment plan). After a nasty round of arguments I exited. Time lost from work, possible termination of employment and eyes worse than you could imagine. Plan to see Westfield Eye Center… I’d rather pay them for a second opinion. Now if they determine the condition has created more serious issues a lawyer will be all over Sheppard! DO NOT USE SHEPPARD!
