UYE Pin Up at The Stratosphere Theater

How cool is Mary Rose?
Let us see: she organised this whole thing, with free — Free! — tickets waiting for every one at the box office, nifty signage up at multiple points so that nerdier Unilocalers can have something to photograph themselves with, and, was nowhere to be found to take credit for it all.
Like a magnificent angel orchestrating mythical goodness in the background.
I gather she was at the after-​show gathering upstairs, but I was too hungry to not eat after the show, so I could not meet her (or Claire [*shakes fist at Downtown Chris*]).
And on that note, how fucking cool is Roger T.
Well, before you answer that, he arranged to give a free ticket he acquired — through his own means — to a Unilocaler that could not RSVP in time to be able to get in to the show. Now that is a «Useful» Unilocaler (scroll your ass passed this review and go ‘FUC’ him on his review below/​above/​wherever it appears to your vantage point).

I love Claire from her being on reality tv and being friends with Holly. I just always thought that she seemed super duper sweet… and yep! I was right!

I was super excited to see this show but I did not have high expectations! I know that sounds weird but I just could not help to think that it would be super cheesy…
IT WAS! In a yummy cheesecake way!
The show is setup like the 12 calendar months and Claire explains that right from the get-​go.
Throughout each month there are songs sang by the «blonde lady» :) sorry I did not catch her name. Claire has a group of super fancy backup dancers that are out of this world! Especially Corey? she is the curvy blonde that works a pole like I never imagined in my whole wide world was ever possible! WOW!
If you love campy, classic, at some parts super cool magic trick, non nude Pin Up and you love Claire like I do… GO JUST GO!
You have to see the show.

First and foremost, major props goes out to Mary Rose for this wonderful opportunity to witness this show.
With that said, I was ecstatic to hang out with those Unilocal peeps that reserved their tickets in time. It’s like I expect to see the usual suspects at every event whether UYE or CMYE (We’re gonna miss you Misti!)
The show in itself warrants a whole nother review and I can tell you it didn’t disappoint. Claire herself even gave us a shout out during the show so that was pretty cool of her to acknowledge us!
Afterwards, we were all invited to go to level 107 at the top where we mingled and hung out. Wished I had a big dinner because me and my party were really hungry so we were only there for bit before heading back down to get some grub.
A super thanks goes out to the fine folks at Stratosphere for having us. They even put signs in various places that welcomed us.
Once again, thanks goes out to Mary Rose for setting this up. You go girl!

A big thanks goes out to Mary Rose F. — I was really sorry I didn’t get to meet her. It was great to see so many of my Unilocal buddies before the show: Nelson & Shirley Q., Chris R., Jade W. & her bf, Elizabeth B. and her hubby, Roger T., Edwin P. & Colleen T.
Getting our tickets was a breeze, the seating was fantastic (front and center), and there were signs welcoming Unilocal all over the place! Love the love! I tried to take one pic at the early part of the show and was quickly stopped by an angry user… my bad.
I’m not much of a night owl, so a 10:30pm event was a bit late for me, Shane N. and I didn’t stick around for drinks and socializing at 107 Lounge. But we enjoyed the show! Great dancing, awesome band, fun costumes, and surprising illusions. For a free UYE this was a real treat!

You know that creepy guy who’s obsessed with someone clearly out of his reach? Well, that’s me to an extent in regard to Claire. OK it’s not that bad, and really, what 22 year old Playmate of the year wouldn’t be interested in a guy like me? Don’t answer that. But hey it must be true and I have pics to prove it :-)
I honestly haven’t seen any of her other… ummm…work, but I do drive by the billboard on a daily basis and have more times than not nearly crashed my car. That’s marketing at its best. Sometimes leaving something to the imagination is a good thing; so alas I will not be hunting down copies of Playboy magazine or scouring the Internet for pics. You believe me right? I thought the show was fantastic and thanks to Mary Rose we were given the VIP treatment. Though some feel the show lacked stage time by Claire, the kick ass band, accompanying performers and great company of my fellow Unilocalers made up for it. There was something for everyone here: magic, dancing, singing, a good band, beautiful people, acrobatics.
I can’t think of a better way to spend an hour or two… back to that; Claire, I misplaced your number. Message me here please :-)

The UYE Pin up at the Stratosphere was simply the best UYE I have attended – and it wasn’t even food related. With a magical opening sequence that segued from a color video of star of the show and former Playboy Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair to reveal her in the flesh in the same garb as depicted in the video, to the energetic close of the show, this was one delightful night of great rousing instrumental music; fine singing; and frenetic dancing that included tap, pole, and even ballet; along with some impressive acrobatics and a misbehaving pillow. Plus, I still haven’t been able to figure out how the male dancer was able to fit bodily inside a witch’s cauldron and emerge from a pot that was clearly much smaller than his body.
From a male perspective, besides being very talented and obviously professionally trained dancers, the four female dancers were all really hot-​looking to match the really hot-​sounding music emanating from the rousing six-​piece band, which consisted of musicians playing the trumpet, trombone, sax, drums, and two guitars. Plus, for the ladies there was one strong and ruggedly handsome dancing and jumping male dancer, who had to be in top shape to cover the stage time and time again pulling garments off his dancing companions. Ann, the attractive singer, belted out beat-​filled jazzy songs throughout the evening, and revealed a fit body to match the dancers in the last number of the show. And, the curvaceous Claire Sinclair sparkled in every change of apparel, and bubbled with an engaging personality as the hostess and star of the show. Despite her obvious beauty and perfect skin, she exuded wholesomeness like the girl next door – except for one startling moment when a top was removed to reveal bright red pasties with tassles.
Claire proved to be just as nice and personable off stage, for I was lucky enough to be selected during the show to receive a calendar from her at the bottom of the runway where I was seated, with a promise to sign it later on. She fulfilled this pledge about half an hour after the show by writing me a sweet message with a mischievous smile on her face while bracing the calendar on my back, besides briefly chatting and then graciously posing for photos with me and other Unilocalers in the Level 107 Lounge. Virtually the entire cast showed up to socialize, which I thought was quite cool.
The show itself featured nice varied sketches to represent the seasons and some activities generally affiliated with all twelve calendar months. I got lost in the calendar itself, and saw no signs indicating when the sketches for March, May, June, or August began. But, as the night continued, I thought, «Who cares?» The scenes were all colorful and enjoyable to take in, and I was glad that more than 12 were included.
Diane and I were assigned great seats front and center, for which I thank and offer a shout out of gratitude to Mary Rose F., who arranged this awesome UYE. My chair was cushioned, but after about an hour it felt hard on the rear. Yet I scarcely noticed this. The show was all-​enthralling, and a great replacement for «Bite». Just like the Frankie Moreno show, which is held in the same showroom, Pin Up is great non-​blockbuster entertainment, which I will highly recommend to others.

I like her hat!

Firstly, thank you to Mary Rose for getting a large group of us tickets to the show. That’s pretty baller of a UYE you pulled off there. Complete with a shoutout during the show, and «welcome Unilocal signs» around the show lobby and 107 lounge. The event perks itself is 5 stars.
Pin Up is of course based on pinups. It showcases pretty girls in dancing, singing and burlesque like vignettes in themes based on each month of a pin up calendar.
The 4 dancers of the show were pretty good and had gorgeous bodies adorned in so much glitter and glitz. They did diverse dances from the jive, tapping, ballet and even striptease pole work. Their choreography was pretty on and fun. I think I liked the swing part at the «airplane factory» set, the firehouse strip pole, and the flight attendant contemporary ballet and the baseball tap dance vs the drummer numbers the best.
The singer Ann was pretty fun and personable through her numbers and I’m glad she was featured pretty prominently.
The band was pretty good. In particular for me was the bassist groove was on and the trumpet was hitting some difficult jazz breathing effortlessly.
Now, the advertised starlet is Claire St Clair so I’m confused as to why she was the least featured of the cast. Okay, so shes not a singer or a professional dancer, but she could be doing something in every number. I was expecting that she would be bringing more burlesque, but it was not really was it heavily element. Not to seem crude, but I expected more stripping down to tassels or something if she wasn’t doing the singing nor majority of dancing. She’s is often coming in at the end of most numbers to wiggle a little and take a little off with very few things on her own for the whole thing. She is the emcee, really, not center stage. She’s gorgeous curvy and has a look that is believable as a throwback to Pin Up era ladies.
It was a pretty decent show overall. Somewhere between a 3 and 4 star would be about right.
Afterward people went up to the 107 lounge and the cast of Pin Up was there as well. I don’t know if that is every night after the show, but it was announced during the end of the show so I assume such. It was a reverse happy hour for 2 for 1 drinks. I was hoping the food was half off like it is during day, but apparently the kitchen closes so I didn’t partake at all. I was way too hungry to drink on a empty so we hung out for a bit and bounced out. It seems like a great place to catch a drink, bring a tourist friend to see the view, maybe go on a date night for quiet drinks and ambiance. Don’t pay to go up through the normal way for the observation deck, tell the person at the Top of the World restaurant desk you’re going there and there will be a different elevator for that. And if you are dining or drinking at either, you can get to the observation deck too. Will have to try it sometime.

I really liked the show. I thought the house band was amazing. Ann, the singer could lull a bird back from the dead with her voice. The dancers were great. The things they could do with their bodies was incredible. My favorite part was the swing dancing. I really liked the energy of the show, everyone looks like they are having a blast.
Afterwards, 2 for 1 cocktails at Level 107 lounge. Nice drinks and amazing view, couldn’t ask for a better night.

For those of you who attended the Unilocal Burstday Celebration with Frankie Moreno, It was exactly like that, but only this time, with 2011 Playboy Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair. Wifey and I shared a booth with Chris R. and we had a great view of the stage from where we sat.
Cool show concept, awesome live band,(Ann can SING!!!,) great choreography, and we even got a Unilocal shout out from the Hostess herself! After the show, we enjoyed 2 for 1 Cocktails up at the Level 107 Lounge and had a little meet and greet with Claire, Ann, and some of the dancers and band members (we could also see the lights goin’ off at EDC from where we were which was cool!)
