LOVE THE POOL!!! People are nice… clean…Parking can be tricky… but well worth it.

So happy UNLV has a beautiful, new gym. This gym/​rec center is 5 stories high. There plenty of everything you need for working out available! Though sometimes it may not seem like it because it does get crowded, they do! I recommend to come either super early in the day or towards the end of the day, not in the afternoon since many people like to go between/​after their classes. I also love how the student clinic is in this building as well. If you are a student away from home like myself, I come here whenever I need to see a doctor — since I’m a Kaiser Permanente member and there aren’t any in Vegas. They even have massage chairs to use if you need some relaxing as well! If you attend UNLV I definitely definitely recommend to take advantage of this FREE gym. Absolutely love it

Gotta love the indoor track at the very top! My favorite form of exercise is to run and I like that there’s the option to not use a treadmill. I also like Einstein Bagels being right next door. Running and bagels.

I wish I had more time to come here as often as I did the past couple of semesters seeing as students get to use the facility for free and there are 5 levels packed of resources to keep your blood pumping.
My schedule has been running every Monday from 10−6pm and after that, I would rush home to jog around the neighborhood with my mother. On my days off, I’m volunteering, studying, attending talks and all that fun stuff, forcing me to put the gym at a lesser priority than everything else. And I’m not too happy about it. Last fall, I enjoyed working up a sweat during Zumba toning classes they held at the second floor rooms. Other times (especially during hot weather), I would arrive on campus as early as 7am to hit the treadmills and exercise bikes — then leave the gym full of endorphins which lasted me all day!
I’ve heard of a relaxation rooms filled with massage chairs for those of you who need to destress during finals week. There’s also a swimming pool on the first floor which I have yet to use and a running track on the 4^th floor, a great alternative to the treadmill. Weights are situated on the second floor as well as most classes. They go from boot camp to yoga to spin classes. Lines are minimal and hygiene has never been a problem. Tissues and sanitizers are within view and available for gym-​goers to wipe down their equipment when they are done so you can at least ensure that yours are clean.
Staff has also been really nice. They understood that I forgot to bring my own lock for the lockers this one time and allowed me to keep my duffel on the cardio floor even if it’s prohibited. You guys rock! I’m hoping to put in a little more time here if I can and while I can but seeing as the weather is getting cooler, school isn’t too near and my schedule is quite demanding, I will keep up with my Sunday runs and neighborhood jogs in the park for now.

What a joke!!! I came here with the idea that I would get some kind of «workout». This facility is honestly useless for anyone who comes here and actually wants to utilize the equiptment, it is so crowded that at any given point all of the machines are being used and there is actually a line of people waiting for macines! If you thought you’d come here and get a bench thats laughable, if you actually wanted to superset something good luck ever being able to use two pieces of equiptment at the same time. What about lockers I think not, there are so many people here that its hard to even breath without choking on someone elses sweat. Being a student here I was hoping that I could use this facility between or after classes. I’ve been to concerts that are less crowded than it is here. I feel bad for any of the poor suckers that actually signed up and pay for a membership here. It got a whole two stars because of the equitment they have it is nice for the most part. There are squat racks and olympic weight sets. But the smell of bootie sweat is enough to make me run the other way.

This is one of the best gyms I’ve been to in Vegas. The gym has four floors with each floor has something different to offer. The first floor has a nice lobby with many couches, an Einsteins, a place to get your pre and post workout smoothie, and a doctors office. Once you enter the gym, to your left has all your cardio needs from elliptical machines to treadmills, cycling bicycles, and stair master. The women and men locker room are located on the first floor as well. The first floor also includes two racquetball courts, two courts where you can play basketball, soccer, dodgeball, or hockey, and as well includes a swimming pool. Now my favorite floor, THE SECOND FLOOR! The reason the second floor is my favorite out of all four floors is because its where i spend most of the time in the gym which is weightlifting. The weightlifting sections has ALL your machines to work on every single body part. The staff keeps the machines and all the weightlifting equipment well organized and clean. They provide little cubbards to place all your personal items and backpacks. But I like to place my stuff in the locker room cause I feel like my items will be safe in a locker rather than a cubbard that is open. The second floor also provides classrooms where they offer dance classes, kickboxing, zumba, judo, and yoga. The third floor has four basketball courts that are well maintained. Last but not least, the fourth floor offers a track that overviews the basketball court and the whole gym.

Been coming to this gym for over 3 years, what can I say… honestly the best around by far. I’ve gone to other gyms such as lvac, eos, and 24. To be frank, all don’t even come close. The staff are all amazing and friendly, the facility is always clean and organized. Let alone if something breaks it seems like it get fixed during the week. Best gym by far, love this place and I will consistently keep coming back!

I come here when I have a headache: finals week, first week of the semester or I’m just tired because of classes. Vasoconstriction causes headaches and so far, working out has worked wonders for me.
I used the facility for the first time as a guest years ago and was asked to get an ID card just for SRWC since I wasn’t a Rebel yet. There was a skin disease outbreak that happened that year so, I stopped going. They got that issue straightened out. Now that I am a Rebel, I get to come here for free, yay!
I like the layout of equipments and how seated machines/​equipments are red — my favorite color! The little details matter to me. My favorite is the running track since I love running and we don’t have one at my regular gym. Please run in the right direction.
It’s clean, modern and doesn’t seem cramped. Cardio machines, ab machines, free weights, basketball courts, pool… whatever exercise equipment needs you have, they got it. Please wear appropriate pants/​underwear before using the leg abductor machine.

Compared to most university fitness centers (or well most fitness centers in general), it’s huuuuge and stacks up against the best of the best in Las Vegas. Free for UNLV students and $ 25/​month for community members, it’s a steal! Four floors of all kinds of equipment and activities for members to enjoy. If you’re feeling a late night work, the rec is open til midnight! It may not be 24 hours, but it’s a lot longer than most.
First floor: Cardio machines (ellipticals, tread climbers, treadmill, bikes, etc), tv’s connected to most cardio machines, in door pool and jacuzzi, hockey court, basketball court, indoor cycling, and racquetball courts.
Second floor: Anything you could possible need to lift and bulk. The opposite side has 3 dance rooms for various classes too.
Third floor: A bunch of basketball courts for all your basketball needs!
Fourth floorr: In door ¹⁄₈ mile loop track.
There’s an Einstein’s Bagels and Fuel smoothies for a pre or post work out snacks located on the first floor.

UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center is the fanciest, most spacious gym I’ve ever stepped foot in. There are four floors filled with everything a gym junkie’s heart could desire. The first floor is filled with treadmills and general cardio equipment, plus a racquetball court and a pool to name a few features. The second floor has mostly strength/​lifting equipment. On the third floor, there’s a huge basketball court. I think there’s 4 full courts here. Finally, the fourth floor holds the indoor track. It’s smallish — 1 lap equates to half of a real lap. There’s a large timer above the track’s entrance, so if you don’t have a watch handy you can still time yourself.
The locker rooms are clean, new, and large. The front desk sells locks for $ 7. Guests are welcome to occupy any lockers in the immediate front area. The ones further back are rented out.
As a UNLV student, I get to work out here for FREE! I squeeze in gym sessions on campus when I can. For those interested in a membership, it’s $ 25 a month. If you live in the area, I would definitely get a membership here! It doesn’t get any better, trust me.

4 stars only because they dont have a steam and suana room. Ive been working out here for a long time now. The building is beautiful and the people are cool. I wish the gym was ²⁴⁄₇ though.

I’ve had memberships at a few different gyms in Las Vegas, but none of them can compare to the UNLV gym. It’s always clean and there are so many nice machines and equipment. I’m now getting better and more well-​rounded workouts. It may get busy at times, but I have no trouble finding another machine or activity to do while I wait.

Very nice clean gym, good basketball game runs here. However its a college so can be unpredictable because of events or groups renting out courts. Only $ 25 a month and you don’t have to be a student to workout here.

Awesome gym! Always very clean and a friendly staff. I started taking yoga classes here during the day and they are phenomenal! The teacher Astrid is a great spirit who reinforces positivity throughout the class. A definite repeat and recommendation!

It’s awesome and i’m not just saying that because I’m a student here, but because it’s the best gym in the state. It also beats the ones I’ve got back home. You can do so many different activities!
There are numerous amounts of equipment to use here! I’m more active with the courts they have. Oh and can I just mention how HUGE it is! 4 floors of hard work and dedication. We have a swimming area, various classes (including yoga, pilates, dance, judo, cycling, etc.), an indoor track, raquet ball rooms, basketball courts, and even an Einstein Bros on the first floor! Students get in for free, guests pay $ 25 a month. It’s a great deal!
Trust me, it’s an awesome experience that I encourage you to try out!

Looking for a comprehensive gym with almost every amenity for a great gym? Look no further because you’re about to see why this gym is so great.
There are 4 floors to this facility.
1^st floor: There is a dining area on this floor by a smoothie area and an einstein bagel place. There are also couches to lounge on if you’re waiting for a friend or just wanting to hangout there. Hydration station in between the boys and girls bathroom. A pharmacy and the health center if you need to see a Doctor or other health care provider for any medical needs (full time student/​by appointment). Two racquetball courts, Two indoor soccer/​basketball courts. A 6 or 8 lane olympic sized lap pool with jacuzzi and whirlpool in the back of the gym. Treadmills and other cardiovascular workout machines are mostly on the first floor as well. A cycling room for spin class. Men and womens locker rooms which have separated showers for privacy.
2^nd floor: Different rooms for various types of class (judo, pilates, cardio kickboxing). The weight area! The weight area here is great. There are also kettlebells here and platforms for cleans. There is an office on this floor where you can get diet tips from a dietician or set up an appointment to use their massage chairs.
3^rd floor; Basketball courts! Well separated so that flying balls do not invade other courts
4^th floor: The track, one lap is ¹⁄₈ of a mile. There are also exercise bikes up here as well
Overall: A comprehensive gym that provides a lot of amenities not seen in one gym. The frats often over populate the gym but this is normally from 4pm-​7pm so avoid coming here at that time.

Lvac? 24 hour fitness? Gold’s gym? Thats cute.
You can’t really compare any UNLV’s gym to any other gym’s, it’s just not fair. You get everything you need here. I’ll break it down for you.
1^st floor: Don’t feel like bulking up, or looking like a hulk? That’s fine they have all the cardiovascular machines you’ll ever need. Along with 12 tv’s connected to the machine. What what?! Walking around more, they also have a racquetball courts, a lap pool, indoor hockey, and basketball courts.
2^nd floor: Weight room laid out with every type of lifting you can possibly do. Simple. Bulk up, get big, get buff, become the hulk.
3^rd floor: Basketball courts! With nets dividing each court so no lose ball will interrupt any other games on the court.
4^th floor: Track and one lap is an eight of a mile.
Overall everything you really need to stay fit. For a student this place is a steal, and they also offer free classes!
Pro tip: You can basically borrow anything you don’t have at the desk. Racquetball, basketball, and towels.

The Doctors office, all the people here seem to really care and the staff is helpful too. Way so many things to work out on in the gym, hard to choose, heck use them all! Einsteins Begals, yumm…
The building itself is huge, and clean, I like clean!

I’ve been coming here for more than three years, the review is more than long overdue.
What do I think about this place? I think this is a really awesome building. There are so many things inside that make it really cool. There’s a doctor’s office, a pharmacy, an Einstein’s, and a few other things health related on the various that I’m not sure of exactly. And that is all excluding the gym! The gym itself is really cool as well! There are 4 floors total. The first floor comprises of the cardio room, racquetball courts, and these things called MACs (multipurpose activity courts) where you can play basketball and soccer usually. The second floor has the weights and they have a lot of gym staples. They surprisingly have bumper plates for those who enjoy Olympic lifting. The third floor has 4 full sized basketball courts, which feels a little bit smaller than an NBA court, but this isn’t the NBA, so of course it’s gonna be smaller. The fourth floor has a nice ¹⁄₈ of a mile track, which is the typical 400m track, but it’s a small building so what can you expect. They also have a pool you can access from inside the locker room.
This is a really nice facility overall. I would recommend it highly because of their towel service They provide, as well as lockers for rent, and their daily lockers. Their showers are also partitioned so you get your privacy unlike local gyms. The one big thing that angers me is the people working complain about you dropping the weights. And it’s not the people on the floor, but the office workers. It’s not our fault you put the weights on the second floor and that the building is a gym. That’s their own fault and it bugs me when they tell us to stop, but the people who do Olympic lifts know what I’m talking about. That is what separates this place from a 5 to me.

For as many people that go to this school and considering that community members are allowed to use this gym, it goes beyond my expectations. Never any lines, and its never really THAT busy, which is a total plus.
I like that they leave stuff where you can wipe down the machine, but that they also have additional staff members wiping the machines down.
This gym is so big that I haven’t gone to the 4^th floor yet to see the track but I love how this Rec Center is designed so you can see everything. I also love that it has multiple lounge areas to study/​relax.
Most of the other reviews have covered the costs if you are not a student here and that there is a (bomb) Einstein Bagel here.
The only downside to this gym is that it doesn’t open until past noon on Sundays :(
