TNA Heating and Cooling

When the compressor went out on one of my 26-​year old units, I used home advisers to compare companies. Tom was the first one to return my call and answered all of my questions. I then researched A/​C companies, NV energy rebates, regulations regarding seers, etc. Every time I called Tom, he not only had an answer but he offered an in-​depth explanation (I’m sort of a «why» person). AND, his bid was the most comprehensive value for the cost.
Every person on Tom’s team is pleasant and professional. Tom personally coordinated the installation from start to finish and followed through with the warranty registration. At a time when the heat is unbearable and tempers can run high, not once did anyone on his team lose their cool.
I’m so thoroughly impressed that I switched companies; I’m very loyal to people who value me as a customer and respect me as a person.
Tim came out yesterday to do my fall maintenance. He was, as I expected, prompt, professional, and personable. We chatted about horror stories and challenging customers (we all have bad days). As he was leaving, I thanked him and told him how much I appreciate the great service I get with the company. I then told him, «you may not have a perfect day, but it’s as close as it gets with TNA!». I started laughing about my poetic send-​off, and we both agreed it would make Tom’s day and I should post it. There you have it!

Love these guys! They found problems that other people didn’t find and finally got our air conditioner up and running.
The only complaint I do have is they couldn’t fix it the day of because they didn’t have the right cleaner to clean the coils, and that was a huge hassle because it was way too hot in our house and we had to get a hotel and board our dog for the night.
They made up for it by coming at 6am the next morning to get to work! Our worker was so great and friendly, so they deserve the 5star review. But maybe they could carry the high grade cleaner as well as the other cleaners so they can fix things sooner.
But they were quick, they came to inspect the same day, they receptionist was so nice, we troubleshooted a little on the phone and she was just fantastic. :)

I picked this company because of all the wonderful reviews that I have read about but this hasn’t been a pleasant experience for me at all.
The first visit: The problem with my AC was that it didn’t blow out cool air. I don’t have much knowledge with AC but I have had low freon before. So I did my research on Unilocal and decided to go with this company. The technician showed up, he went to the outside unit (my place is a condo, so the unit is split into ceiling and ground outside), spent about 5 seconds there, and came up with two explanations. He told me that either your ac was low on freon or there was a leak. I asked him how did you know that there was a leak when you haven’t performed any kind of tests? He told me that he just knows based on the experience.
?! As a consumer with little to no knowledge, I would think that he was just trying to get me to pay more for something that could be fixed once he refilled the freons. So I told him, just refill the freeons. He gave me 2.5 lb of freons. However, he did try to save himself by saying «if this is indeed a leak, we will have to charge you again, full price.» But I just asked him to refill the freons anyway because it was hard for me to believe that there was a leak when he has not performed any kind of analytical tests.
Sure enough, two weeks after, my AC was acting up again. So I started to think, there might be a leak.
This time, I called another technician from a different company, this guy actually performed a full test. He used a leak detector to check the ceiling unit and the unit outside. He told me that he couldn’t detect a single leak, but he suggested it could be a tiny leak that even his detector couldn’t detect or that it could be somewhere inside the wall. I believed him because he actually performed a test. Then he suggested me to call the company I used before and see if they could give me a credit and come out to fix this. Keep in mind that after he performed all these tests and gave me such advice, he did not charge me a single penny.
Second visit: I called this company again and asked them to come out. I asked for a credit or some sort of discount because of what happened. The lady was going back and forth with her boss and finally, I have had enough, I asked to speak to her boss directly. His name is Tom. I told him what happened last time and he told me, «we did give you two choices last time and you picked the freon refill.» I tried to reason with him, «if you were the consumer and you were given two choices, one w/​cheaper cost and the other w/​the double the cost, the guy did not perform any kind of tests, would you take his words and just ask him to fix the leak?!» He told me he would.
Well, lesson learned, if you happened to pick this company, you just have to take whatever they say.
But the story is not over. Tom did give me a discount, $ 200 for the stop-​leak seal and $ 25 per freon to refill the freon (which I learned later that it is not a real discount, the technician told me himself that they usually charge $ 200 for the stop-​leak seal anyway, so if you have the same problem as I do, keep this price tag in mind). The technician came at 3pm and did his works. I asked him if he could measure the amount of freon that he was about to give me, he said Tom told him to just give me 4 lbs. So again, no measuring, I had to take his words for it. After he finished, I asked him, «could you at least check for me that the fan is blowing air that is 20 degrees different from the air inside.» He told me that he did not carry that thermometer with him but reassured me that everything is fine. I don’t know what kind of ac technician would not have that thermometer with him but I learned that with this company, you just have to take their words for it.
At this point, I am not entirely sure if my AC is fixed because it took the AC 1 hour to lower 1 degree in my place. I called the company again and the lady told me that it could take up to 4 hours for the house to cool down. The funny thing is that the lady actually asked me to feel the air blowing from the fan and see if it’s cool. How ironic?! I told her I just asked the technician the same thing, I thought that would be the technician’s job to make sure it’s cooling 20 degrees different. She told me she would try to find out for me why the technician did not carry the thermometer with him. I don’t know if it matters anymore. I told her that I’ll give it another two hours and see if it would cool down.
So, there’s my full review of this experience. Not pleasant to say the least.

My AC went down at 1030 pm last night. I called TNA first because they were first on Unilocal list, 5 stars, free diagnostic call for mentioning Unilocal and all good reviews. The receptionist asked me questions took my info and ended with saying that she would get my info to a scheduler. Immediately after hanging up on the receptionist my phone rang and it was TNA. I thought it was another one of their receptionist so I told her I just gave all my info to the other receptionist and she says «I’m the scheduler». She had said the receptionist was already sending her my info as I spoke to her so that was a really nice surprise. The scheduler was very apologetic when she told me the earliest she could get someone out to me was 7am the next morning.
After hanging up on TNA scheduler I tried contacting other companies to see if I could get someone out that night. Three answering services later Josh TNA tech called. He said he just sat down to eat when my work order came in. He explained that he only lives 5 minutes away from me and if I wanted he could come down after eating. I was really surprised that he offered that at 1045 at night on a free diagnostic call so I said yes. 20 minutes later he showed asked me questions as I walked him to the unit. He opened up the unit and started running his tests. About 7 minutes later he throughly explained what was going on and what needed to be done. The part he needed he did not have on hand and was waiting on a text from another tech to see if they could bring it down to him. When he got a negative response he explained that he could pick up the part first thing in the morning and it would be a quick fix. He offered a free temporary fix to get our ac going through the night until he got back in the morning. By the time he left it was already 11pm and Josh was extremely patient, professional, reassuring and thorough with his answers, explanation and estimates. The next morning he texted me an eta and when he was 30 minutes to his estimated eta he texted back a new eta and explained the situation. He arrived on his second eta, the fix was quick and he gave his advisements. I compared my charges to Angie’s list and it was under the average charge listed on Angie’s list. After further research I found if I did the replacement and bought the part myself I would have saved maybe 50% but the reality is it would have taken me forever and day to figure out the fix. Meanwhile I have yet to hear from the other companies I contacted last night.

My HVAC finally broke a few weeks ago, and being a really careful and smart shopper, I requested for an estimate from 9 different companies in Vegas. TNA is by far the cheapest, and mind you, I was very specific when I requested for the estimate (I insisted on getting the 5-​ton TRANE XB13). HVAC systems with installation is not cheap. When I lamented about how pricey HVAC is in general, Tom gave me an advice no other firms cared to mention: you do not have to change the furnace and the coil (which is about the same price as just changing the condenser external unit) since the furnace is really nothing but a blower for pushing the air from the condenser (during summer) and the heater (during winter). In my case, the air is still fairly strong, except it’s not cooling.
Anyway, thanks to Tom’s advice, i manage to shave my total costs from about 6k to less than 3k. He was able to quickly send out Tim first thing the next morning to replace the unit. And Tim is really awesome at his job. Extremely professional and thorough with his installation. Ask for Tim for the installation if you could. He’s the best!
TNA is a true gem in an industry where sadly, there are many other unscrupulous installers out there who inflate their prices and try to sell you things which you might not need.

I called TNA when my AC went out during a heatwave. Even though they were very busy they got to me quickly and took the time to properly diagnose my problem. The fixed it and then called me to explained that they did to get the AC back on. Tom is very knowledgeable and explains things well. He did not try to sell me and was very helpful.

This is a wonderful company! Very honest and legit! We had another company who came out and wanted to put 8 lbs of freon in our AC as opposed to 3 that this company put and saved us a ton of money! The other company also tried to claim our compressor wasn’t working. But low and behold after this company put in the freon it worked. I’m so happy that we found this company on Unilocal.Also I forgot to mention I called several companies and no one could return a phone call or was extremely rude when I tried to get a quote. If you want to save money and have friendly service call this place.

The owner was terrific, he sent a man out ASAP to do a check. But the unit that the Yes heating and plumbing sold me years ago is garbage. He was honest and let me know that we could limp it along but it was basically a money pit. Which is what I was expecting. I am gonna buy a new unit this fall and I am definitely calling this company and giving them my business

Tom is amazing! He is very professional, and get the repairs done quick! We have dealt with a lot of AC vendors, but TNA by far is best company. The prices aren’t ridiculous like the rest of the competition. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a HVAC repairs!

I called TNA heating & Cooling after Doctor Cool did not return my voicemail after an hour of waiting. My air conditioner was struggling to keep the house cool and running for a long time so it needed some help. The original lady, Catarina (I think was her name), was very short and rushing as well as breathing very hard into the phone. She was not interested in speaking to me any more than she had to and was not friendly. She was not rude, just cold and flat. She took my information and said someone would contact me to set up an appointment. No time frame, just sometime. This interaction made me pretty nervous about how the rest of my business was going to go with this company, but I pressed on.
I received a call within 10 or so minutes from a gentleman (I don’t remember his name, sorry) who was probably a dispatcher. This guy was super friendly! He was clearly happy and told me he had someone already in the area and I should expect them within 30 minutes. This interaction made me happy and renewed my faith in the company and assumed that the original lady was just a fluke.
The technician arrived within the promised 30 minutes. His name was Derek and he was, unfortunately, also not a friendly person. Again, not rude, just not very welcoming and talking to him made me uncomfortable just like talking with Catarina. I explained my issue and offered any assistance. He asked me where would be the best place to get to the air conditioner and I said I wasn’t sure. He seemed kinda annoyed, so I apologized and explained that this was my fiancé’s house and I’ve never had to have anyone look at the air conditioner before while I was here (although I shouldn’t have to apologize for not knowing). I promptly called my Fiancé and asked and was able to give the information to the technician right as he was walking to the best place. After inspecting the air conditioner he came back and told me what was needed and how much it costed. I provided him water and said I would like him to take care of it all. He did the work, I paid the bill, provided him more water, and he was on his way.
I had no problem with the quality of work that was provided because my air conditioner is working wonderfully. My only problem was the way I was treated by two of the three employees. Customer service is a big deal to me and I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable or unsure about the company based on my interaction with staff as that will definitely guide me away from the business. But I stuck it out and I’m not disappointed. I would recommend this company, but be ready to be treated indifferently.

I couldn’t be any happier. tom gave me an excellent deal on a new Trane 4 ton unit. by far the best pricing out of 5 other companies. Tim and his co worker did an excellent job on the install. All I can say is A+++++ 5 star service all the way around.

I had three different companies come by to give an estimate for a brand new furnace and air con. TNA cost me $ 900 less than another company using the exact same model and $ 2,000 less than a company using similar products. Ordinarily I hold a bit of skepticism at such a low bid. Would TNA skimp on the install or cut corners somehow or upsell me or not do all the recommended leak tests, for example? No, that never happened. The owner, Tom, was very accessible, fielding my calls and emails quickly, and going over some different options with me so I could make up my mind armed with enough info. He patiently answered all my questions and did so in a respectful manner that even a layman such as myself could understand. Tom sent over Tim, a friendly and knowledgeable installer, who has years of experience in the industry. If this was baseball, Tim would be the workhorse out of the bullpen — never complaining about the heat, the cramped attic, or busy workload. All he does is get the job done right with a cheerful attitude.
You can usually tell when workers or business owners are going through the motions and are just there for a paycheck or whether they take a true interest in doing their job well. These guys really want happy customers.
When I find a good mechanic I can trust to work on my car, I tend to keep him for future repairs. However, when you replace an HVAC system it’s hit or miss since they last well over a decade. That’s why I was very careful about who I chose for the job because once the system is in place, it’s in for good. I don’t often sing praises or sling criticism at any business unless I’m either extremely happy or disappointed with the results. TNA did a tremendous job with my system and I highly recommend them. Forget that their prices are reasonable and competitive… more importantly, they do the job right.

We were melting, even my cat was having trouble breathing ^&^ ~. Our air went out and I just kept seeing the inside temp approaching 90 degrees! I put out a facebook alert for an HVAC person STAT ! Boy Ill tell you, the minute I called there offices and Arti answered, I knew I was in good hands. Ive heard horror stories of people waiting up to a week, sometimes two just to get someone to take a look. TNA was there in 45 minutes. Not only did they take a look, they brought a solution. They had the parts right on the truck and had me up and running in no time. Thank you so much ! It is rare to find a company that provides such great customer serv ice and quickly too. Thank you agin. And my cat thanks you too. Now, if i could judt get the icemaker in the fridge to work and my drivers side door lock to be unjammed, Id be a happy camper. Ok so it’s 8:00 PM on a Tuesday and it’s 85 degrees in my house. I call a couple of places and one says they can come in the morning. The other says not until Friday. Not good. I call TNA and get an answering machine. I don’t leave a message because I need to get someone out quickly. A few minutes later the phone rings and it’s TNA apologizing for missing my call. I tell the lady what’s going on. She asked where I live. She says she has a repairman in the area on a call and can come to my house next.
Derek arrives at my house around 10:00 PM. He assesses the problem as a slow refrigerant leak. He, unfortunately, didn’t have any sealant but could at least refill the refrigerant. I asked him to go ahead and do that since it was late and my house was too warm. $ 200 and my house is cooling off. He was here for about a half an hour. I’m happy with the service I received from TNA. By the way they only charge 20 bucks to come out and look. Far less than other companies. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Great customer service and definitely affordable. My AC system died on Saturday night on hottest weekend of the year last summer (2013) … 117 degrees. I called
Sunday morning and they were able to get a new 5 ton 13 seer unit installed the same day for $ 2595…$ 1000 less than competitors with a much better warranty. Then they sent another tech out today (Monday) to make sure it was running properly. You can’t live in Las Vegas without AC and I think a lot of companies take advantage if that. I’m happy to say that TNA isn’t one if them… 5 Stars!!!

Can’t be more pleased with the service. It looked at first like the a/​c compressor needed to be replaced on a tenant occupied property I own. After I authorized that repair, I received a call to let me know that further investigation showed a kink in the line that could be repaired. I was given the option of replacing a couple of other parts that looked like they would need replacing soon. I took that option to avoid another call in the near future (especially with the hot Las Vegas summer coming up). All in all, the total repair was less than one half the cost of replacing the compressor. I was very impressed with their honesty.

A «Deal» was offered on the Whole unit and it was still high priced.
Tim showed AMP Draw was NORMAL. NOT HIGH DRAW!
Also a leak was soon discovered under the Freon checkport. IE. Other Guy NEVER even check Freon or he would have stated the Leak.
TNA Offers $ 19.99 check, Great for a 2^nd Look before you commit to a full change out. They can usually fix it and R22 will be around for years Though price is going up.
Full install from TNA also $ 1,000.00+ cheaper than those others!!!
