The Weave Scene

Been here once before. Owner’s mother was friendly. Came back as a walk in to get my daughters hair done on 2 Jan 16. They was suppose to open at 9 am. Was still waiting in the parking lot at 950 am. I left after one of the workers who was also waiting said he couldn’t get ahold of anyone to come open the shop. Needless to say I will not be going back. Very unprofessional to waste someone else’s time that is willing to pay for a service. Additionally, the first time I went they were late opening too (15 mins) but I let that one slide. Y’all have to do better!

So I won a prize from hot 97.5 and figured if the radio station was giving it away must be decent. I called right away like the people instructed me to do so at the station and was told I would be put down for the next Sunday. I call Sunday morning and told I was not put down and its 15.00 to make an appointment. First strike in my book. Strike two I walk in to a place that has great décor but a so so staff and not friendly at all. First off if someone wins a prize it should say on there if u make an appointment it will cost u 15.00 not just call to make your appointment. Honestly I don’t care how great of a job they will do with my hair because I’m still waiting as I type this review .Now I would walk out but I will use my prize I rightfully won but I will not ever return to this place … My advice stay far away from here u get what u pay for. I know some great stylists who will hook u up… Stylists leave one by one down to one stylist and I am still waiting 6 hours later. One girl said she would braid my hair for the one who would be left but no she decided she had to go … Just terrible and worst hair experience I’ve ever had… Will not be back here. Not worth it go some where that they appreciate your business not a place like this… Ok so her is my final edit I leave after 10 pm. Now the girl doing my hair said it will be 65.00 because I have longer hair first off my hair is normal shoulder length hair … I tell the girl up front I was getting the sew and go. Around 830 when I finally get my hair started she said she needs to close the register and will I be Paying cash or card ummm hello I said I won the package I whip out the paper … The girl doing my hair started doing a full sew in as they call it with a good amount out goes to tell me it will be 65.00 the voucher is for 50.0 what do I wanna do … By this point I’m heated and say just do it I will pay the 15 difference … She goes on and I’m just thinking this will be the last time I ever visit this place and I will tell everyone I know to stay away

Amazing ! I had the owners mother trim my hair, and take out my extensions. She not only did an amazing job, but she was soo nice the entire time. I was offered water or other refreshments as well. The salon is clean also ! Which is a HUGE must for me. I had a great experience. I won’t be going anywhere else in Las Vegas.

Ive been going to this salon 2 – 3 times a month since this past November if I’m not getting a sew in I’m getting it wash & styled. I get compliments on my hair almost everyday and occasionally I’ll even get the is it natural question. Almost all the stylist have done my hair and one time the owner even styled me. My schedule is crazy and I love that I can walk right in. I call first just to make sure they are ready for me and they always have been. On top of my hair always looking great the salon is clean, décor is cute and they give you wine.

Came here for a sew in, the price was great but the quality of work was horrible. You get what you pay for, and this was ultimately a waste of money. After about a week my tracks are falling out.

STAY AWAY I understand there prices may be appealing but stay away. I’ve gotten a sew in weave there and it last about 3weeks before the tracks become very loose and the thread hangs and what not. I put my hair in a satin cap each night and try as much as possible not to brush my hair but even that doesn’t help. Weave scene is trash, save your money and go to professionals who actually care about you and take pride in making there customers look and feel good. Despite the positive comments on here, you will not find it there!!! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time trust me our heads deserve better

This place was the worst. The owner was great the first time and then I went back twice and had terrible experiences.

Guess who is never coming back to this place? Me! I came at 1:30pm and didn’t leave till 7pm. I wanted some hair colored, but the color wasn’t the one I asked for. Then the lady that was doing my hair kept asking me the same questions over and over. The hair I had was wavy so I wanted it flat ironed, and she basically insisted that I wear it wavy, and I told her I didn’t like it wavy. She made me think that she didn’t feel like flat ironing it for me. I was very annoyed and I had a lot to do that day, and I couldn’t because it took so long. The sew in quality isn’t that great either. One woman had a track showing, and she had just got her hair done. I should have just gotten up and left. Ladies, stay away from this place seriously.

I was sooo pissed to have traveled from the vegas strip to this place by cab I arrived at 5:30 to get my hair done just to be turned away by a stylist just sitting there stating she is not able to so my hair cause she was waiting for someone else. I told her I was from another state (Phila) and was leaving tomorrow and I desperately needed my hair done. She did not care about my circumstance she told me to come back Wednesday. I told her again that I was leaving Tuesday. I called before I left my hotel and was told to come no appt needed. My cab driver felt so bad for me and he took me to Hypnotic hair salon in which they took me and did a wonderful job. The women there was so nice ask for Shindy she took good care of me. I never felt so angry to be mistreated as a potential customer. I will tell everyone about my experience and to not waste their time with The Weave Place.

This place is something else. I’ve been going here for quite some time and the first few weaves were beautiful. There is no consistency with this place. Always new stylist (it’s like the turnaround must be high) and the wait is unbelievable. You might as well forget making an appointment because they’ll take someone before you and make you wait. I’ve had several bad sew ins from this place. Why do some of your stylist skip areas when they sew and then stick all the ends into one big lump on the back of your head? I try with this place but it’s getting to the point where I will no longer be a customer.

Salon is very pretty! They serve drinks! But my braid in extentions are falling out after one week. I have been here twice disappointed both times. Also 45 min wait for four tracks! won’t return.

They’re inexperienced with natural hair.
If you’re a natural head… Run. Don’t look back. NONE have real experience with natural hair. Your head will be tender when they’re done. Smh. One woman, taylor, did my hair and had no clue. She might now since I use somebody different in the same shop. It’s not just her though. ALMOST ALL of them are inexperienced with naturals. And they fry your hair with toooooo much heat and no product/​heat protector. It’s crazy. Idk how they’re licensed. To be quick on time, they blow dry, already dried hair to get it half way straight. They don’t care about the health of your hair. They just want to charge you all they can to up their check.
They’re very fast and more focused on how many heads they can get in… Even though the shops dead unless there’s a sale on weave. Swing by and you’ll see. The end result is relatively decent.
I would recommend janae. Even though she can be a bit rough on you’re head, she tries to get it exactly how you want it. She’s probably one of like 3 stylists there that won’t kill your experience.

I called this salon after seeing mixed reviews on Unilocal.I asked of they took appt a and I was told No. I asked if they had short curly lightly colored hair. I expresses that I was going for a bohemian look (think Freddie from A Different World) I was assured they had the perfect hair. 3 bundles for $ 110. I asked for clarification since that is very cheap for human hair. The person on the phone said the price again. I arrived at the salon at 9 am since I had many things to do on this vacation. The salon opened but stylist would not be in until 9:30. I asked to receptionist about prices and hair and found out all I had been told was wrong. No hair that is even close to what I want and the hair they had was black and wavy at $ 110 a bundle. I would need 3! I just walked out. There is no way I am paying $ 500 to get my hair done there.

Excellent salon! I made a Sunday appointment on a Friday which is unspeakable if you don’t know a hair stylist personally or have a special event. The stylist was very gentle always asking if the tension was ok while doing the braiding portion which I hate the most. The salon is super clean and classy you feel like a diva in the making. When I first entered no one acknowledged me because they were in the zone in weave land. After they realized I was there I was offered wine as they conducted my consultation. They go over all of the pieces before you get started. Once it was said and done I paid close to $ 90 bucks. Totally worth it and I believe a deal for professional quality weave that I’ve received non stop compliments. Love weave scene!

My experience was fine UNTIL, the owner, my stylist had the uncouth nerve to ask for a tip! I ALWAYS tip when I visit salons, restaurants, etc. However, I NEVER have had an establishment ASK for a tip.
How UNPROFESSIONAL!

Don’t waste your time at this place. They nickel and dime you and charge you for silly things. This is my second time that I came here to give it another chance because the first time was horrible! my hair was sticking up and got my hair done a week later. (I assume the girl was new) and the first was just as a disappointment as the second time. They did ok but they gave me a surprise charge after waiting 3 hrs as a walk-​in. I won’t be coming back.

I see there aren’t many good reviews by black women on here. Being that it’s a diverse salon is great. I didn’t even read the reviews until I actually had my appointment today and was a little nervous but went anyway.
The shop is really cute and I love the look.
I went to a stylist named Janae who looked at my hair and saw that I had a cut. I told her what I wanted. Throughout the process she explained a lot of different things to me about hair and what she was doing to my hair as she was doing it! I have a short cut, which is harder to work with than a weave so of course I was a little nervous. My hair is amazing and I’m very happy with it. So if you want your hair done I will recommend going & setting up an appointment with Janae.

This is the worst place to get your hair done in Vegas. I called 2 days before I came to Vegas and explained what I wanted & was quoted $ 50 so my sister & I were game. we came here for the $ 50 sew-​in and was hit with a bunch of Add ons for washing my hair, how many bundles I wanted in my hair they only do 2 if you want more its 25 extra per bundle, small braids are extra & Depending on how much hair you leave out there is a charge. I was very upset with the attitude some of the employees had it was not a welcoming environment.
I’m not a cheep person but I will pay for quality work. I feel they use the $ 50 weave to get you in the door & it’s bad business because we left & got out hair done for $ 100 each & was very pleased with the results.

So lets get into the weave scene! I ombré’d my weave on Saturday (9÷14÷13) & was so excited about the way it looked I wanted to get it installed ASAP! I arrived at the weave scene around almost 2:30PM & I was in a chair within 10 minutes. Did I mention this was on a Saturday?! I forgot the name of the woman who did my hair unfortunately but she knew exactly what she was doing & she took her time! A braid was unbearably tight for me & she loosen it as well! I have a full weave with no leave out & it only cost me $ 114. It’s a nice environment & they offer you FREE refreshments (water, wine & popcorn)! It’s great I will definitely be returning soon.

So, when I was living in Minnesota and Wisconsin, I had a girl that always did my weave for me. I had been using her for years. Naturally, when moving to a new area of the country, there is a panic that sets in for almost every black girl. She wonders, «Well, who the heck is gonna do my weave now?»
You can’t just go to any old place. Either they will do a bad job, or they will try and charge you entirely too much money (especially a «white salon.» No offense, but $ 75-​$ 95 to relax my hair?!? Are you people high?).
That’s why I was so happy to find this place. Initially, I was nervous because upon walking into the salon, the décor was so chic and nice that I assumed they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for weave services. Not so! This place is very reasonable.
They have a $ 50 sew-​in special, but that just to put it in. No cut or any complicated stuff. But the next one up, the yellow diamond special is $ 79! That includes the cut with the weave. Even the next one, the pink diamond is only $ 89, and that includes a cut, closure, and can be a more complicated style.
The girl that did my hair was very sweet and had a great personality. But pretty much every person you meet here is super nice and professional. Just to prove how awesome this place is, I have a story.
Initially, I told my stylist that I wanted to be able to pull my hair into a bun. She finished my weave, but she did not leave out enough of my edges to pull it up. I called the next day and explained, and came back. She told me she would have to take down the entire weave and do it over again. I felt bad, but I really don’t like wearing my hair down every day, mainly because I like a classy high bun sometimes and I also work out, so I need to be able to pull my hair up at the gym. They said it would be no problem, and that the most important thing was for me to be happy with my hair. She took my entire weave and cornrows out and re-​weaved me all over again!!! Even though it was free of charge, I still tipped her a second time, just for doing all that work. And the whole time, she was super chill about it.
They also sell bundle hair here, which I did not use this time. But many of the other girls I saw were getting it put in and let me tell you, I am most definitely going to get it next time. Their bundle hair is sooooo pretty and natural-​looking!
This place is the definition of excellent customer service. Everyone that walks out of here loves their hair! I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking to keep it fresh and sassy in Las Vegas!
