History

Established in 2002.

Layne Rushforth, an attorney since 1978 and a Nevada attorney since 1981, formed The Rushforth Firm, Ltd., which has been operating as a trust-​and-​estate law firm since 2002. Joseph J. Powell joined the Firm in 2005, and Kennedy E. Lee joined the Firm in 2013. The Firm focuses its practice on estate-​planning (wills and trusts), probate, and trust administration. The practice also includes handling disputes with beneficiaries and fiduciaries (e.g., trustees and executors) in probate court.

Position: Trust and Estate Attorney.

Education: Brigham Young University (B. A., cum laude, 1975; J. D., cum laude, 1978).

Member: Utah State Bar; State Bar of Nevada; Fellow, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) (1990-​present) and Nevada State Chair for ACTEC (2005 – 2010); Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council (President, 1986 – 1988); Trust and Estate Practitioner with STEP (2015-​present).
