I took my 2 year old daughter there for croup, she has a real bad cough with stridor. It was difficult for her to breathe and was preventing her from sleep last night. Due to the weekend, her primary care Dr wasn’t available, and I called the nurse advice; so they told us to go to the ER or Urgent care. I decided to take her to the Urgent Care At SMA 2704 Tenaya. I’m very disappointed, the wait wasn’t bad, 120 mins. But what most disappointed was Dr. Vahe Kazarian, very unprofessional, rushed through the process, not being informative and bad bedside manner. We paid $ 75 for co-​pay, hoping to get the care for our child, some relieve or soothing for her cough. He had an RN given her 1dose of prednisone, but my daughter throw it all up after swallowed. Then he sent us home with a handout to read what a Croup is, and nothing else to help soothe her. As a mother and a person that has faith and thought that you can trust the care of a Physician to help alleviate our distress. But I’m very disappointed and realized now it’s all about business to make money. He probably over charged my insurance for the care he did less than 5 mins. Very rude doctor, no understanding of the Patient care. This is my first Unilocal review and I hate to be so negative but I am very aggravated and upset. I would not recommend this place and especially Kazarian, this guy need to have his license taken away.

This review is for urgent care. This complaint is for Dr. Yamato. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. I left his office so upset and still feeling sick. I have been suffering severe throat issues for years now, and his advice to me was to vacuum under my bed. So ridiculous. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Avoid wasting your time and money and go somewhere else!

I gave one start because the Check In girl was very friendly and professional. Now, my problem is the provider I end up seeing Dr V Reddy, who is very UNPROFESSIONAL. Not only was he confused about results, he read results from 2 yrs ago… Then when he realized it was the wrong ones, he claims he doesnt see the latest one. He told me that even though I am feeling symptoms of chest pains and shortness of breath he will not believe that I am experiencing any heart conditions because in his opinion I am too young (35) and a female. I explained to him i have a family history of heart disease and he had the gull to tell me that i am «making it up». My father had open heart surgery at mid 30’s and died 54, dont tell me im making it up. This dr is a joke!!! Do NOT trust him.

Dr. Barber is great with my kids. He is very patient and doesn’t try and rush you along. He takes his time and answers any questions you may have.

Besides being very slow and long wait times, if you miss a payment that really should have been insurance covered, they quickly turn you over to Collection without notice. BE VERY CAREFUL of this company. There was no problem paying it as soon as I found out.
Then when you call they are VERY rude. I was told they do not have the staff to contact people who owe on accounts. Based upon this service and the wait times in their clinics, they are VERY understaffed. It is interesting they would rather pay a collection company 40% of a bill than hire their own staff. HMO for you. NO CARE, NO SERVICE.
This is an HMO. if you can swing a PPO, do it. MUCH better care.

Very friendly and attentive staff, unfortunately also very busy the day I went. Waited over 2 hours and still wasn’t called. I left but I will try them again.

I went here twice for urgent care; The people at the front desk were a little rude at times but in a way it is understandable for the amount of work this company places on them. The wait of course was long, both times. I will say the actual medical staff were friendly and good.
My real problem is with the BILLING DEPARTMENT; I paid my $ 10 co-​pay for my first visit on the spot. My second visit I was never asked about the co-​pay and didn’t even think about it. The second visit was related to the first, the meds they gave me I had a horrible reaction to. Well fast forwards a few months later, I’m checking my credit report and find a collection from a company representing Southwest Medical Associates… collection is for $ 10. Not only was I never sent a invoice for this bill, they never attempted to contact me via mail or phone before sending me to collections. I think the management needs to realize that they need to make an reasonable effort to collect a debt prior to sending it to collections, which they did not. I hav medical insurance, if at anytime they would have sent me a bill or called me I would have paid the $ 10 without even thinking about it. This is poor business, poor customer service and borderline against the FDCPA. I will be contacting every department I know to file a complain. I wont bother contacting Southwest Medical Associates since they didn’t bother contacting me. SO BEWARE watch what you owe and I guess just send them money to keep them happy even if they don’t send you a bill or call you. Pathetic, I will never use them again.

Today I received a reminder from my SMA provider that I had not completed my mammogram. I reminded myself daily to put it off, today I was busted. There was no excuse for me and she directed me office near my home. I made a U-​turn in the car and headed to the office.
I signed in and expected a wait. Five minutes later my name was called and mission completed! Granted this may not happen to everyone, especially when one comes in as a walk in, however it happened to me! Glad it is over with and I am thankful and grateful that they kept track of me!

My toddlers and I love Dr. Barber. He’s the best! Same day/​next day appointments always available. Waiting room time is usually less than 10 minutes and he’s super fun for the kids to interact with. They love how he wears cool ties. I appreciate the security presence as well. Friendly/​professional staff assisting with whatever needs or questions I might have at the moment, especially being that I’m forever juggling a million and one things! Haven’t had a bad experience yet.

I called to make an apt today with Dr. Farmer who my insurance recommended me to (which I called to let them know of the incident that occurred as well). The receptionist (male) Shawn was INCREDIBLY RUDE and REFUSED to help. I ABSOLUTEY will NOT be seeking medical care at this facility. If the office staff answering the phone is condescending with a bad attitude, I can only imagine what the doctors are like.

This review is for the urgent care, i took my two month old baby yesterday and after waiting about two hours we finally got to see the Dr just for him to tell us he could not perform any procedure on my son (who has an ingrown toe nail) and he couldn’t give me a referral to a specialty cause pediatrician had to see my son, so I tried to make an appointment and they said the closest one was on june after too many calls and talk with too many people i got an appointment at another location just for the pediatrician to give me a referral and I can’t even call to make the appointments with specialist until Monday they say! This is ridiculous my son in two months old his nail is infected what are they waiting for to do something about it im definitely changing pediatrician and never coming back here

The doctor is great, once you’re actually able to see him — he’s friendly, explains the situation in layman’s terms and is very patient. However, it takes up to 5 weeks to get an appointment, and once you’re in they give your referrals that NEVER pan out. I’ve been experiencing awful abdominal pain due to large fibroids for over a year now, and I’ve been referred to three fertility specialists by two different medical professionals, and no one has EVER gotten back to me. Its like their referrals just ignore them, and no one does anything about it, no matter how many times I attempt to follow-​up. In addition, when i finally relented and moved forward with plans for surgery that may leave me without a uterus (without seeing a fertility specialist for alternatives, since no one will call me back, let alone make an appointment with me), I was given a referral for that as well! The system told me to call for scheduling, but after multiple attempts at calling and many hours spent on hold, the surly «scheduler» informed me that she would call me a month before my surgery… So… it seems I have no input in the matter. Life, work and other plans be damned. Thanks for a whole lot of nothing because that is all I’ve gotten so far…

Julie Tuggle is my sons pediatrician. Every Time we go see her (or any other southwest medical) the staff are so friendly. Dr. Tuggle always seems to make sure we have everything we need, the appointment doesn’t feel rushed and she covers everything with me.

I had a medical appointment at Southwest Medical Associates and after waiting for awhile I received the tests that I wanted to get fully checked out. I go back next week for the results.

This is the worst medical office in the universe it should be shut down the way they treat patients they don’t care i about their patients my 82-​year-​old father was trying to make an appointment for Endo chronology he had a speakerphone one 1. ½ hrs before somebody answered after three times of being on hold for over an hour the other two times that s a total of 3 ½ hrs
He finally got through to someone and they refuse to make an appointment for him until they got the results from blood work –Bloodwork takes 24 to 48 hours to get the results back so why could he not make an appointment for a week or 2 later? I my dad was so upset I had to drive from San Diego to Las Vegas to calm him down which I called Dr. Ryan trans office spoke to his nurse Christina and told her what I did she promised to call me back on Monday and will have the doctor take care of it make the appointment for my father because she said he isn’t at risk patient here we are five days later he still doesn’t have an appointment and she never called me back
I left another message on Wednesday the receptionist assured me she would give it to Christina because she was at lunch and she will call me back never happened
My dad has a pacemaker and had a quadruple bypass and if anything happens to him over this I will hold them personally responsible they are causing stress!
bottom line they do not care about their patients whether their patients live or die all they seem to care about is if they get the insurance money in my opinion!

Visited Radiology/​Imaging Dept. Although the procedure itself was painful for me (due to extensive spine hardware), the young bearded gentleman (didn’t tell me his name) who registered me was polite, efficient, and took precautions to preserve my privacy when another client came in and stood (within listening range), behind me, instead of behind the marked line where she belonged. I appreciated that.
The wait for my imaging studies was brief. Then Laura, the radiology tech, came to the door & called me to come in. She gave clear & detailed instructions both prior to & following the studies. She was careful to protect my modesty, was professional, compassionate, and still efficient. She was kind and friendly. When you are in pain, these are things you really appreciate!
This is the place to go for your Radiology/​Imaging Study needs! Thank you to Laura & staff!
In addition, they are open 7am-​7pm!!! Awesome!

Umm NO!!! The checkin process was amazing, fast and quick.
The doctor that saw me was horrible, unfortunatly I cant nor do I want to go into details of the resaon for my visit, but lets just say this doctor did nothing for me. Never asked any intro questions, never offered blood/​urine tests (which I found out later, were 100% needed) made up some crazy diagnosis that had nothing to do with the problem at hand and sent me on my way with antibiotics. Needless to say i will never go to this emergency care again!!! EVER!!!

Dr. Julie Tuggle is the best pediatrician! She really listens to your concerns and spends time properly diagnosing your child. She is very thorough and clearly explains any prescribed treatments. She genuinely cares for my children and has a great bedside manner. Highly recommended.

A 3 hour wait to see a doctor is ridiculous.

Got my husband an appointment withing 3 days as opposed to another doctor who could not see either us until July… its April now.
Everything is right at their facility from lab, X-​ray to the doctors. All in one! There is agreat selection of doctors as well.
Convenience and top notch customer care! Everyone was so friendly and professional.
