Nosh Las Vegas

This is the only food tour I’ve ever been on where I was still hungry when it was over. Wow did it feel cheap and lazy. We paid $ 60 per person for a three hour downtown tour and got done after an hour and a half. It was like, that’s it?
To start with, our tickets had the wrong starting location. Although, they did try to call us to let us know, so I’ll give them that.
Food:
VegeNation– Got two tiny pieces of flatbread here.
O Face Donuts– Got HALF a donut.
Cheffini’s Hot Dogs– Got a third of a hotdog. Are you kidding me??? I can’t even get a whole HOT DOG?
JinJu Chocolates– We got a tiny chocolate sample. This really felt like an advertisement for the chocolate company and they did a whole speech to get you to buy something. Ummmm this is a food tour and I’ve already paid a bunch of money to get some food. Why the hell would I be purchasing something extra?
Then, that was it. The only positive of the tour was our guide Casey.
After the tour was over we ate at a mexican restaurant in the container park afterwards. There’s another reviewer on here for 11/​30/​2015 that was probably in our group.
I would never recommend this tour to anyone. What a waste of money! They must have pocketed 90% of the cost of the tour. Pretty sure the items I listed above would cost maybe a total of $ 15.

My husband and I have done two food tours with Nosh. The first was at the SLS and the latest we did was the downtown tour with Renea as our guide. We visited four local food stops during our tour.
Renea was an awesome tour guide. She was really good at keeping the conversation flowing and connecting the group. I loved all of the downtown information and history she had to share in between food stops.
The spots that are visited can vary a bit between tours so I’ll share the places we visited.
VegeNation– I’m glad this was included on the tour because I wouldn’t have chosen this restaurant on my own. We tried all three of the pizzas offered. I enjoyed the taste of all three and the toppings tasted fresh. The only noticeable difference from a pizza that isn’t Vegan was a slight difference in the cheese consistency. Otherwise, great pizza.
O Face Donuts– This spot was a pleasant surprise since I didn’t see it mentioned in recent reviews. The donuts here were really good. The flavors were great. We were able to try four different types of donuts.
Cheffini’s Hot Dogs-​We tried the signature Cheffini hot dog. The hot dog itself was very tasty. The toppings were unique and fresh. My husband and I definitely want to come here again because the menu sounded awesome.
JinJu Chocolates– We tried two different chocolates including the strawberries and cream which was my favorite.
The overall pace of the tour is relaxed. Visiting four places over two hours allows plenty of time for each stop.

The downtown area was fun. The list of restaurants were not what we expected though. Tour guide Casey, was very knowledgeable about the downtown area.

The food tour is a great way to explore downtown and learn some fun facts along the way. You get to try out samples from restaurants that you may not be your first choice to eat at but after going on this tour, I will definitely go back to the places we went to.

My girlfriend and I went to the Nosh Food Tour at the Monte Carlo on the Las Vegas Strip on a Saturday at 4pm. Overall, the tour was great!
We visited five restaurants (Double Barrel, 800 Degrees, Yusho, Diablo’s Cantina, and BLVD Creamery). All of the food was fantastic! we had pulled pork sliders at Double Barrel, two different kinds of pizza at 800 Degrees (one had bacon jam. Bacon. Jam.), ramen at Yusho, beef taquitos at Diablo’s, and both chocolate ice cream and cabernet sorbet at BLVD for dessert.
Besides trying the delicious food, we go to know a little more about the Monte Carlo and the restaurants we visited. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Working downtown, it’s always nice to sample the restaurant businesses in the area. It helps that our tour guide (Renea) is just the sweetest woman… so nice and informative. On this tour, we went to Carson Kitchen, Cheffinis, Jinju Chocolates, Perch, and Itsy Bitsy. Looks like the other reviews described them pretty well, but here are my highlights:
Carson Kitchen: What’s not to love about fried chicken skins? They are the absolute BEST!!!
Cheffinis: The Classic Cheffinis Hot Dog is really delicious. Yes, there’s a lot of stuff on it (Grilled frank, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, mozzarella, crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce, mustard, mayo and ketchup), BUT… it’s really yummy! I especially like the pineapple sauce and jalapenos.
Jinju Chocolates: I went a little crazy in this store and purchased 4 sea salt caramel truffles (their signature truffle), 4 bacon stout truffles, 6 chocolate-​covered Oreos, and 4 peanut butter cups. The truffles are to die for!
Perch: I was looking forward to getting their spicy pecans, but they weren’t included on this tour. We instead got their monkey bread and Chopped Salad (mmm to both). My bowl of salad had a decent portion overall, but it was lacking in bacon so I bummed some off of my neighbor, so make sure you get some bacon if you order this.
Itsy Bitsy: Of the three flavors of mochi (coffee, mint chocolate chip, and cookies n cream), coffee was my favorite!
Definitely worth checking out, everyone!

This was my first Nosh tour. It was outstanding. We learned about the history of Vegas, Monte Carlo, and the various restaurants. My favorite was the Japanese restaurant we went to. 800 degree pizza was also a highlight.
Feedback for the team: It’s Vegas so please next time pair it with a drink!

Seriously what a great experience! I’m a Vegas Local and I didn’t know some of these places existed. I’m so glad I was able to try them all. Each one had a unique flavor and style. Plus I got the rare opportunity to meet the chefs. And of course the food was amazing. Thanks guys for such a great time! I can’t wait to try downtown.

I heard about Nosh from Unilocal and saw that there was a Groupon. I was sold! There are 2 tour locations (Downtown LV or at the SLS hotel) but I chose Downtown because I wanted to explore off the strip. Our tour guides were Heidy and Renea. They were friendly, knowledgeable and I loved their enthusiasm. We went to 5 places:
Carson Kitchen: Cute, trendy restaurant located next to a donut shop. We tried chicken skins and they were crispy, smoky and served with a tasty sweet honey dipping sauce. I kind of wished there was chicken meat with the skin. But still a unique dish to try.
Cheffinis: Located in container park, this is a tiny hot dog joint with untraditional toppings. We had a sampling of the cheffini dog and the hot dog was juicy and flavorful but I wasn’t a huge fan of the toppings. It had too much going on, from pineapple sauce, to jalapeños, and crushed potato chips. We also tried the vegan empanadas and these were decent but not my favorite.
JinJu Chocolates: Also located in container park, JinJu had exotic chocolates in a variety of flavors. I tried the lemon chocolate and bought some of the toffee hazelnuts. All of their chocolate was rich and creamy.
Perch: Our last stop in container park but probably one of my favorites. The glass walls make it that much more appealing and they offer a brunch menu as well. We started with the monkey bread. I thought it was a little sweet but it was warm and toasty. The highlight was the fried calamari. It was tossed with fried lemon slices and jalapeños, topped with a creamy aioli.
Itsy Bitsy: Cute ramen/​whisky bar. We sampled the mochi dessert (cookies and cream, mint chocolate, and coffee). The coffee was by far the best because it wasn’t that sweet and was fresh and gooey. I also purchased a drink (sugar plum fairy) and it was very good. If you like your cocktail with a hint of sourness, this is it. The sugared rim was a nice complement.
Overall, I had a great time exploring DTLV and trying new dishes! Our guides were excellent and you get to know the others on the tour as well. I hope they have more tour locations because I’d love to return!

We took the Nosh Las Vegas Food Tour in Downtown Las Vegas and had a fantastic time. Our host, Heidy, was very fun and enthusiastic. She was really informative on the locations and surrounding area. We had 5 stops, and the staff at each were very gracious and accommodating. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely go back for another one soon!

We were on the Nosh Las Vegas Downtown Tour, meeting Heidy and Renee at Itsy Bitsy Ramen and Whiskey. We were a small group, just one other couple, also locals, which made it a much more intimate experience than a larger group would have been. Since there are so many new restaurants, thanks to the Downtown Project, we welcomed this opportunity to see the new venues and try some of their food offerings.
The tour is a combination of the restaurants and the history of the downtown area, and Heidy was extremely knowledgeable. It was so interesting to learn about Old Vegas, and Heidy made it fun. She had a temporary mobility problem, so she left five minutes early after most of the restaurant stops, and Renee took over leading us to each new place, capably adding her own knowledge to the mix.
At Itsy Bitsy we sampled two of their excellent potstickers while we sat at the bar. We were told at the beginning that alcohol wasn’t included, but it sure was at our final stop.
On to Carson Kitchen, where we were seated at a table in their patio. The manager, Matt, came out to introduce himself and talk a bit about the restaurant. I’ve read and heard so much about this place, so I was a bit disappointed that we were served just their most popular appetizer, the deep fried chicken skins. I don’t like to eat fried food. Moreover, I never, ever eat the skin on chicken. But I gritted my teeth and tried it, and I’ve gotta say that they are SPECTACULAR! Too good, in fact. I just couldn’t stop! Still, I wish we’d been able to try just one other thing on their menu.
Next, we walked over to the Container Park and into Cheffini’s. This tiny place started as a food cart, which is still around, and now has a more permanent home in the Park. We were treated to a small plate containing half a Classic Cheffini dog. This masterpiece was overloaded with the grilled frank, onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, mozzarella, crushed potato chips, pineapple sauce, mustard, mayo and ketchup. There was also a cup of green sauce, which I think was the Chimichurri, and a veggie empanada. We also had a small cup of frozen lemonade. Hot dogs are another «health» food I like to avoid, but these are Kosher beef, so I dug in with gusto. I was totally blown away, even more so when I dipped it into the Chimichurri. I have been craving one of these ever since. The empanada was also great!
Our next stop, also at the Container Park, was Perch, on the second floor. All glass windows, this restaurant (we learned) isn’t a container like the other establishments, but some other kind of installation, whose name I’ve forgotten. This was a sit-​down experience, like at Carson Kitchen, but a bit more elaborate. Along with bowls of sweet and spicy pecans, we were given a sampler of a wonderful seasonal beer, and then a good-​size bowl of calamari. Yeah, more fried food, but this was a tour de force: delicate calamari with jalapeño & lemon, topped with a garlic aioli. Fabuloso! That was accompanied by a lovely white wine.
Our little dessert was at Jin Ju Chocolates, where we sampled a couple of dark and milk chocolate bites. I have to say that, while they’re okay, they are not my to-​die-​for chocolates.
Our tour came to a close in front of the gigantic preying mantis, where we learned of its provenance and some interesting facts about the Container Park.
Heidy and Renee were outstanding, and made the tour so enjoyable. But I do think that it’s overpriced by about $ 10. Still, it was a great experience that I would definitely recommend.

The experience:
We took the Nosh food tour at SLS with tour guide Joel and 8 other couples in May. Joel has been a local for many years and was knowledgable about a wide variety of facts and figures. The tour was overall enjoyable and gave us the opportunity to meet the managers at four restaurants who welcomed us with details and facts one wouldn’t normally hear at the dining table.
One recommendation I have is to encourage people to introduce themselves or have a quick ice-​breaker activity. It was a bit awkward to start our dining experience at a large table in a private room in Katsuya without saying much to the people across the table. Conversation was a bit easier at the other restaurants where we sat in closer proximity.
Before we came, someone had mentioned these tours allowed a glimpse into the kitchen areas and provided a lot of inside information on the culinary preparation. That wasn’t the case with this tour. Perhaps I was mistaken with another tour company or location. We basically walked to four restaurants in the SLS and had a fairly typical dining experience.
The value:
We used a Groupon and I think the value was just right at $ 59 for two. Without the discount, I don’t think we’d pay full price to do this again for $ 59 per person.
This is what I approximate the value of the food items (actual serving size in parentheses), price as shown on menu, then itemized Nosh serving price including tax and 15% gratuity per serving:
Katsuya:
(½) Baked Crab Hand Roll at $ 17 for 2 = $ 5.25
(2) Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna at $ 18 for 4 = $ 11.25
800 Degrees Neopolitan Pizza:
(1÷8) Pie with Margherita base, mozzarella and basil $ 10.65 = $ 1.75
(1÷8) Pie with Bianca base, mushroom and arugula $ 9.85 = $ 1.50
Ku Noodle:
(1) Shrimp & Pork Siu Mai with gold flake $ 9.88 for 6 = $ 2.00
(1) Chicken Siu Mai $ 9.88 for 6 = $ 2.00
Umami Burger:
(¼) Truffle Burger at $ 13 for a whole burger = $ 4.00
Total in food, I approximate to be $ 27.75 including tax and tip. We also tipped our guide for a job well done — understand he should be compensated for his time too! Overall, it was a nice experience and we were able to sample 4 restaurants in about 2 hours.

Loved the food tour we went on yesterday at the SLS! Got to try Umami Burger, 800 Degrees, Ku Noodle, and Katsuya. Being from LA I am very familiar with the sbe restaurants so I was excited to see a tour going to all of them offered in Vegas. Would love to go on another tour of theirs at a different location next time too. The guide was very informative and the food portions are perfect whereas you are not hungry afterwords but not stuffed at the same time. Our tour had mostly locals but it was fun to interact and learn some «behind the scenes» things about Las Vegas.

My wife and I have been on two Nosh Tours. One was at Caesar’s Palace and the other at the SLS. Both were fun, informative, and gave us a chance to try a few restaurants that we would not have eaten at if it wasn’t for the Tour.
Our guide, Joel, was courteous and knowledgeable.
Both times we left the Tours highly satisfied and full of good food.
Nosh Tours are a great value and an excellent experience! The tours are fun and very social.

We did the downtown tour. Carson Kitchen was super yummy with their chicken skins with smoked honey. The Perch gave us a wonderful tuna tartare, steak and egg taco and wine. The hot dog place (I forgot the bar but it’s in the container park) gave us doe tasty beef empandas and pieces of hot dogs. Jin Ju chocolates was amazing! Our final stop was at Itsy Bitsy Ramen and Whiskey. They served us some great mochi, one mint chocolate chip and the other was cookie dough. This place has an amazing drink menu. I had a coconut cocktail that was like candy!
This is a great culinary outing!

Went on a wonderful Downtown food tour with Heidy.
Let’s first start out with the customer service side of things; 5 stars, hands-​down! Jered from Nosh was super helpful and friendly to deal with. He set-​up our group’s food tour, and shortly after, sent us very detailed instructions/​directions on where to meet, what to wear (comfortable walking shoes, btw), where to park, etc.
Heidy was our tour-​guide. She is AWESOME! She is friendly and up-​beat, but most importantly, she knows her way around Downtown, Las Vegas as she is also a resident of the area. She is quick with a joke and a smile, and seems to have a great relationship with all of the restaurant reps we had the pleasure of meeting.
Okay, on to the the food; there was not one thing that was served that I didn’t like. No joke, everything was very tasty!
Our first stop was RCP (Radio City Pizza). This place had closed down for a bit, and then got new owners. They served grilled corn on the cob, gnocchi, and another pasta dish that I forget the name for. To be quite frank, I am still dreaming of their gnocchi! It was dense and very flavorful. I wish I could have eaten the entire bowl, but alas, it’s a tasting, and I didn’t want to look like a pig in front of the group. Haha!
We also stopped at Carson Kitchen where our group got to try chicken skins with a sweet honey-​glaze sauce. Per Heidy, these take the most time to prepare when compared with the rest of the food on the menu. They come out piping hot with a crispy, outer crust. They look like pork rinds, but don’t let that turn you off. I can eat a million of those tiny little suckers…
The Perch was our next stop. Heidy took the group through the back entrance of The Container Park, and up a flight of stairs where we were greeted by the GM. We were immediately served spicy/​sweet pecans and a small glass of seasonal beer. Both together tasted like a fiesta in my mouth. The nuts were sweet like candied pecans, but after you chew for a little bit, you get this hint of spice that kinda creeps up on ya. With the beer, this is place deserves a standing ovation. As if that isn’t enough, the GM also brought out tuna on a cracker. Okay, that doesn’t sound exciting, but it is, trust me. The tuna was chilled and cut to a very thin, delegate slice, and then placed on top of a crispy cracker. YUM!
Cheffini’s was our next destination. This place is located just inside the entrance of The Park, and they specialize in gourmet hotdogs. We each ate a half of their most famous hotdog called The Classic Cheffini. I thought the pineapple sauce that’s drizzled on top would be a funky addition, but all of the flavors of this dog go together. Let me tell you, my mouth is watering right now just thinking about that amazing hotdog. And get this — Apparently there is a Cheffini hotdog cart that it only open from 11pm to 6pm in Downtown, LV… Well, let me tell you, if I’m ever tipsy and in need of some deliciousness on a hot Vegas night, I’m sending a search party out for this cart! Yup, the dogs are that tasty!
And the last place we visited was Jinju, a small chocolate shop located on the third floor of The Container Park. The chocolate is smooth and not too sweet, which I like. Did I mention that they look almost too good to eat? No joke, these things look like something outta movie, the chocolates are gorgeous! I ended up picking up a few sweets for my sweet.
Well, folks, as you can see this is a pretty lengthy review. In short, Nosh Las Vegas is AWESOME! The next time I have guests in town, I’m going to book another food-​tour so that they get to experience a delightful taste of what Downtown, Las Vegas has to offer!

Took a tour led by the amazing Heidy– had a wonderful time. I work Downtown, so I was sure we wouldn’t hit up places I had not been to. I was wrong. Can’t wait to return to The Perch for their new Brunch menu and Cheffini’s for another AMAZING hot dog. I had always avoided them before b/​c their prices seemed unreasonably high… now I would pay DOUBLE for one of their signature dogs!

I went onto a tour in Downtown Las Vegas, led by Heidy, and I really enjoyed my time. Downtown is Las Vegas «old downtown», with a completely different vibe from the Strip. It’s richer in history as well as new modern initiatives with the famous «downtown project». The result is a unexpected mix of old casinos, tech startups, typical fast foods and hip organic smoothie places.
The tour has a great balance of presentation and food tasting. I loved that there was just enough food, but not too much — while still visiting many restaurants and chocolate shops (yum). Each place we stopped at had the manager present the restaurant and the food was high quality. Loved the choice of places we stopped at, loved the menu. 5 stars in my book. Thanks Heidy!

Just went on another Nosh Las Vegas tour — this time the new Downtown Las Vegas route! It was just me and my husband this time, which changes the dynamic, but we met some really nice people and had a great time!
La Comida is a funky mexican restaurant complete with a bar swing and family style picnic table seating! The warehouse restaurant, originally a laundromat, has neat walls, ceiling and eclectic décor. We were greeted by our equally vibrant tour guide, Heidi, and chips and salsa on the table ready to go. The restaurant manager came and explained the history of the restaurant and brought out corn on the cob with their special seasoning and sauce! It was really good! We also purchased one of their specialty margaritas for $ 5. Super yummy! This was a fun spot that we may have never tried, and we will certainly go back!
On the way to our next stop, Heidi explained to us some of the history of the area as well as the recent Downtown Project, which has revived the area. Carson Kitchen is located in one such building (originally a hotel/​apt. living) that is now inhabited by several ‘residents’ (a sushi bar, yoga studio, etc). It has a cool and intimate vibe and we were seated in the back courtyard. Opened by a celebrity chef, Kerry Simon, the menu has old fashioned feel good food with a modern twist, think mac n’ cheese, deviled eggs, tempura green beans, gyro tacos, each with something unique. The manager was laid back like ‘the dude’ and shared a ton of info with us about the restaurant concept and local area. They brought our their very popular Fried chicken skins with honey dip, not my style but others were gobbling them up! We also tried their buffalo chicken flatbread! They have live music, so we hope to go back to try some more interesting items!
Our tour continued and we passed more buildings revived by the Downtown Project, learning about historical buildings and their new functions. Our next three stops were in the fairly new Container Park, which is awesome if you haven’t been! Made of shipping containers and recycled material pods, the Park has a variety of shops and restaurants, outdoor areas with a giant playground and games, community activities, and stage for entertainment.
We got escorted through a back entrance up to ‘Perch’. Perch has a casual yet classy, modern and clean feel, and sits above the park with a great patio and view! Their menu consists of seasonal items with an international flair, great for sharing. The service here was phenomenal… They had a free beer sample and spiced pecans waiting for us. The manager and chef (both so nice!) gave a short description and brought out beautiful seared steak on (sourdough?) flatbread (sliced french roll?). Such quality and great flavor! They did not skimp and treated us really well! I loved this place! We will be back!
At JinJu Chocolates, owned and operated by master chocolatier Jin Caldwell, two sweet employees gave us a presentation on their chocolates and we got to try a few samples. They offer a variety of chocolate products, some with neat additions like bacon and more traditional like almonds, toffee, or coconut in local bars called Red Rock and Sin City. The also apparently are the only chocolatier in the US with a license to sell a very rare kind of chocolate. The store was clean and neatly arranged with perfect gift ideas, and the display case was beautiful! Perfectly designed bite sized chocolates! Very delicious!
Cheffini’s, also in the container park, is a casual walk up restaurant that is known for their hot dogs! Being inside a container, it has an intimate and railway car feel. The counter clerk was sweet and fun, as we laughed about their humorous tip jars. The owner was cooking behind the line and came out to greet us, the clerk making sure to give him some trouble too! We got to try their vegetarian empanadas with fresh lime juice and cilantro spread. Unique flavors! They also brought out a ton of their cheesy fries, very crisp and savory!
Leaving the park and heading up Fremont street, we crossed by the El Cortez and headed to The Scullery. On Ogden and 6^th, the Scullery is a corner restaurant with the tagline ‘gourmet pantry’. They have a nice drink list and offer a variety of charcuterie boards: meats and cheeses, pickles and olives. This place felt like New York or Europe to me, intimate and interesting, a great local (upscale but comfortable) hangout. Through a dark hallway past private booths, a ‘hidden’ but large room holds private and public events with live music and comedy nights, and a weekly TV-​aired podcast. I loved the feel of this place and the community multi-​use of the space. Perfect place for an evening out!
As always, this tour gave us a great introduction, a variety of food styles and selections, some interesting history and just a great way to spend an afternoon! Heidi was awesome — laid back yet animated and fun! Very knowledgable and personable! Another great NOSH Tasting Tour!

My wife and myself did not feel like the tour lived up to the reviews on Unilocal.I have never done a food tour before so I did not know what to expect. It felt more like a sales pitch for Harrah’s properties. The samples of food are tasty and the introductions by each restaurant’s manager is nice.
Tickets are $ 59 on their web site. If you decide to try it out I would suggest getting it on a deal site such as travelzoo or LivingSocial when they have a promo code for an additional discount. You do need to book far ahead in advance as their tours sell out pretty quickly.
The tour is ok, personally I would not do one again.
