Monkey photos adorning the walls garnered 3 stars from this Unilocaler regardless of service and drink quality. However, service and drink quality must factored into the final score. After a long day at the convention center, I stopped in with my work colleague(okay, my boss) and bought him a drink before he had to head for the airport. I saddled up to the bar and one of the bartenders looked at me, said nothing and went about his«monkey business.» I waited patiently(Jeopardy game show«Final Jeopardy» music played in my head — you know, the tedious melody that plays while the brainiacs scribble their answers to an obscure question?), but nothing happened. Anyway, I waited and wondered why semi-primate dude couldn’t muster a «Hey, hold tight, I’ll be right with you…» or at least hand me a banana. After several minutes, another bartender took care of business — he was actually quite friendly. Bottom line, I spent a half-hour in the bar, had a drink with the big guy and that was it. Monkey Bar, I loved the monkeys(and apes) dressed in suits adorning your walls. Didn’t love first bartender who ignored me. Second bartender mostly made up for first bartender. *Bummed I couldn’t quite figure out how to include, «Well I’ll be a monkey’s uncle» quip into this review. :) 3 stars… and a few«Ooh ooh ooh eee eee eee aah aah aahs» Yeah, that’s an attempt at typed out monkey sounds.

Waitress is mean & terrible & I her her bitch behind the counter… awkward!!! and Ramon, the bar tender needs to read the recipe of the signature drink? Huh? But the drinks are good & good value @$ 12& the free popcorn, normally OUTOFSTOCK, is delicious, but regularly out even early @4:50pm-5:15pm and another night @7pm? They have a serious inventory problem.

Great on your way out if you stay at SLS or on your way up to your room late at night. Strong drinks, hip atmosphere and quick service so you can be in and out fast.

Love the location of this bar… it’s near the front desk registration area and just outside the elevators to the rooms, super convenient. Also great for people watching. Service level depended on what night you were there. We stayed for three nights but I hung out there for two nights. Each set of bartenders were different. The bartender on Thursday night wasn’t super friendly and took his time taking my order even though(or maybe because) I was the only person at the bar. Friday night was pretty lively… there was a one-man band and my bartender was hunky and nice. Lots of drunk people(fall-down drunk older lady groping younger companions were plenty entertaining) and a good amount of dancing… Tried to stop by Saturday night but there weren’t two seats at the bar so hubby and I moseyed over to the other bar in the middle of the casino instead. Gin & juice for the win except the hunky bartender made it especially good and charged me $ 2 less for it, probably because he just made me a Grayhound which I suppose I preferred. Lovely monkey décor, worth a stop in for a drink!

A convenient bar located in the SLS Luxe lobby, right next to the elevators to the guest rooms, and the monorail… it’s a tempting place to have a drink before you retire for the night. The décor is funky, much in tune to the whole SLS Luxe experience, with a lot of portraits of primates dressed up like human beings. Here, they have you by the convenience factor. The drinks are expensive, and they are made sloppily — heck I can probably be a bartender there if all I need to do is just swirl a couple things around based on the recipes. A shaken drink gets 4 – 5 shakes at best. Given how much alcohol flows through Vegas on any given night, It’s perhaps better to stick with the things they can’t mess up(beers, neat whiskeys, etc).

Horrible service — have to wait forever and then it’s like they are doing you a favor

Overpriced for the atmosphere. In the lobby of the SLS Hotel and Casino, this bar has a sophisticated look, but lacks the boundaries of walls. Making this spot a very annoying place to enjoy a drink. Not to mention the drink prices rival those of a NYC swanky club. $ 16 for a Chopin vodka martini = horrible value.

OMG … Love the décor… monkey pictures all in suits. My favorites of course is the gorilla in a tux cigar. Drinks are pricey but well worth for a drink or two. Dirty martini grey goose w 3 olives please.

Its the perfect spot to chill at before you out to dine or choose a place in the hotel to dine. Service has been friendly in my visits here.

Upon checking In to the SLS, I turned around and saw monkey paintings/pictures everywhere. It was The Monkey Bar. I came to grab a drink. It was a great idea. The ambiance is intimate with warm lighting, the servers were all nice. I asked our server what was the best drink there and we ordered it, The Jasmine Margarita was it’s name. It was surprisingly good with some pomegranate seeds on top. So the cocktails were good, the live music from the piano man was good, but the prices were not good. It was $ 15 for a drink, but what do you except being at a nice hotel. Would definitely come back, their drinks are very unique and I like how the piano man took request for songs.

This is a cool little bar to hang out at inside the SLS casino. They have a specialty drink menu with some very unique drinks. Also with those drinks, they don’t skimp on the alcohol. The flambéed banana served with the cocktail was fun! I also enjoyed the lounge singer playing the piano. It’s fun entertainment while sipping your cocktail.

Want to get a night cap at a bar with less than ear splitting levels of music? Try the Monkey Bar, then. You could do far worse! It’s a decent sized bar facing the front desk of the SLS, but feels intimate and comfy. Lots of wood, leather, nice decorations and mood lighting. Live music was played at an entirely reasonable level. I had one of the specialty cocktails — about $ 15 if I remember. Mixed pretty well. Bartender was attentive without being overbearing. Recommended.

The monkey suit is amazing but would be better on the rocks in my opinion. The Moscow monkey was amazing as well. The drinks were a bit pricey is the only complaint… but that’s vegas!

I thought the new SLS casino marketing themselves as being«for locals» wouldn’t charge the same insane cocktail prices– I was wrong. On the plus side, though this place is small it is nicely decorated. Despite the open floor plan space, it’s surprisingly intimate. The lounge act on Saturday night is a young male on piano who has a great voice, I’d come back to see him.

It’s called Monkey Bar, it really lives up to the name, you see monkey decorations and paintings everywhere, they were fun to look at, I like monkeys! It’s a good sized bar and lounge facing front desk, dim and dark, the booth seatings are very intimate and comfy, perfect for couples, the tall table seatings are great for groups, the bar seatings are obviously good for singles meeting singles, I saw many people met, talked and left together, it was interesting to watch. We went there on all three nights we stayed at the SLS hotel. This bar is located on the way to our Lux tower, so I took the advantage to have drinks before going out each night, it seemed convenient. We briefly enjoyed the lounge time while the live music was playing, I liked the piano play and singing during the day much better, the rock n’ roll music on Friday and Saturday night was a bit too loud for me, but it was very lively and energetic, it’s for weekends! It got very crowded on early Friday and Saturday nights, slow on Saturday late night and very slow on Sunday night, there was no live music on Sunday night either, but I enjoyed the quieter times much better like always. I tried two specialty cocktails on the menu, and decided to just stick to them, Jasmine’s margarita and Passion for wine, both were very refreshing, tasty and not too strong with enough sweetness, they were perfect, got me very relaxed before or after our night out, great choices! Hubby had Vesper martini as usual, they charged different prices on Saturday and Sunday night, one was $ 18, one was $ 14, huh… Different night or different bartender, different prices? That’s interesting. The cocktail waitresses were very friendly and attentive, not to mention they were all eye candies too. I was surprised to see them wearing open toe shoes without stockings, never seen anything like that in Vegas, I guess SLS wanted to make everything edgy, hip and different. I would say this lounge was better for me on slow nights, the drinks were yummy, a bit pricey, $ 15 – 18, but it was to be expected, just don’t charge different prices on the same drink, that was odd!

This is an exquisite lounge! Now, be informed this may not be what everyone is looking for, but my husband and I loved it. We visited on a Saturday evening for drinks — it was a dimly lit lounge, very clean and comfortable. I’d say it could easily accommodate about 50 – 60 people without it being too crowded. There were tables, booths, raised seating, small sofa style seating and of course the bar. The server was nice, however the drinks were pricey – but keep in mind you’re in a boutique casino lounge. If you want to relax over drinks in a nice cocktail bar you should like this place.

So mixed review from first impression, see my tip. It’s basically the lobby bar since it’s right across from front desk, but nice to grab a drink while in line to check in or out right? A lot of seating with semi booths and a communal table. It even has a «LA-ish» outdoor seating area that in LA would probably be considered a smoking area lol.
