Mesa Grill

One of the best meals we have ever experienced in Vegas. The service was wonderful and I can’t imagine it being any better. I was impressed that there was no smokey scent, despite the restaurant’s location inside a casino.
Tiger Shrimp Roasted Garlic Tamale — Shrimp was cooked to perfection. The spices were full of flavor in the creamy sauce. The sauce was rich, but I know that this was an appetizer meant to be shared. I ate it as an entrée.
New Mexican Spiced Pork Tenderloin Sandwich — The pork was very tender and had a flavorful crust on the outside. I enjoyed the chewy bread and the crunch of the onions. Very well done!
Mesa Burger– The sauce on the side was very unique and tasty. I thought the fries on the side were delicious and well seasoned, but not too salty. They had a nice crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. However, it was quite pricey for a burger. We have had better burgers for less.
There are other dishes on the menu that intrigued me, and I will be back to try them!

Maybe I’m just not a fan of Bobby Flay’s Southwestern inspired cuisine, but my experience wasn’t the most enjoyable. I would give my experience a 3.5, but rounding down in rating because I don’t think it deserved the full 4 stars.
The best part about my night was the bread basket. My friend and I shamelessly asked for another basket once we devoured through the first one. The blue corn muffins and the raisin bread was my favorite!
As for entrée, I ordered the Chile Relleno. As a vegetarian, in terms of entrees, that was my only choice. I could have ordered 2 appetizers instead, but nothing on the appetizer menu piqued my interest. The Chile Relleno was fairly spicy and I was not expecting that at all. I wish my server had given me a little bit of a warning. Of course, there is some level of spice to be expected when ordering a stuffed chili, but the majority of the heat came from the bed of red pepper sauce. It was so spicy, I could only eat half of it.
My friend ordered the Queso Fundido, which was a Flay specialty, and the Chicken Skewers. She seemed to enjoy her food a lot more than I did.
The service was adequate, nothing extraordinary. My friend and I had to wait 15 minutes at the bar despite having a reservation. Once seated, our (blasé) waiter did a pretty good job explaining the signature menu items — but that was the most enthusiasm that came from him for the remainder of the night. I went for dinner on Sunday night and the place was pretty packed.
Personally, I would pass on this place since it was nothing special. But if you’re a die-​hard Bobby Flay fan, you may enjoy this restaurant much more than I did.

Been here numerous times before. In Vegas annually. Always was a winner.

— chopped salad was old lettuce and slightly wilted. Chopped tomatoes and canned kidney beans, canned chick peas and canned olives. The salad was dry and void of adequate dressing. After served by server our waiter saw it, and with a frown on forehead asked if we wanted more dressing before we could ask for it. The waiter did comp us the salad. Bobby Flay, «Whats up for $ 17»
— White wine by the glass had 6 or 7 choices. I knew reisling but all other varietal choices were unrecognizable. Told wait person the wine choices were Greek to me. «What was like a sauvignon blanc? The recommendation was not very good.
With all Vegas Strip food prices stratospheric, I think Mesa Grill is off our list. Tons of new options.

Mesa grill is an absolute treat. An authentically delicious Bobby Flay restaurant where the Southwestern flavors really come through in each dish, whether it’s a simple spice, a sauce with a bit of kick to it, or the entire orchestration of a dish. It’s pretty pricey for dinner but lunch is reasonable and a great option for trying this place otherwise. From the ancho chile-​honey glazed salmon to the smoked chicken black bean quesadilla to the Mesa burger and southwestern fries, every dish was a solid choice.
Given his grilling expertise, I felt compelled to get the Mesa burger. The whole thing was pretty much perfect. A juicy burger complemented by some onions and subtle cheddar cheese where the taste of the grill showed all the way through. Then added some addicting chile bbq sauce to top it off. It’s a bit messy but in the best of ways. Add some irresistible and somewhat heavily-​seasoned fries and it’s the real deal.

A marketing firm was kind enough to invite my husband and me out to dinner with them at this restaurant. It was drop-​down delicious!
I got the pork tenderloin and my husband got the coffee-​rubbed fillet mignon, for the table we shared the mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. I can’t say enough good things about how everything tasted! The seasonings were subtle yet powerful and the service prompt and nonintrusive.

I’ve eaten at the Mesa Grill at Paradise Island and loved it, so decided to head back this past weekend when we were in Vegas. (As an aside, the waiter told us both other Mesa Grill locations recently closed).
Mesa Grill again did not disappoint! The breads were unique, flavorful and tasty. I wasn’t overly hungry so had an appetizer and then split an entrée with my mom. My appetizer was a huge hit — a garlic, shrimp tamale. Our entrée, the pork tenderloin, was also delicious. My dad said his steak was the best he’s had in months which is a huge compliment given that we’re from Chicago and had eaten at Prime two nights before.

Mr. Bobby Flay. I feel I can now feel like you aren’t just some TV cook! (sorry…) So Mesa Grill has been at the Caesar’s for a while now and I’m always thinking, why would I pay a premium for Mexican food? I live in LA; I have Mexican food everywhere. But I see the light now. It’s Mexican/​Southwestern fusion-​ish food. I came for lunch on Saturday and even though I made a reservation through Open Table, it wasn’t busy.
Apps: Tiger Shrimp & Corn Tamale. Only one is enough because it is super rich with the sauce but it is oh so good. The corn was the sweet it needed to bite through all the garlic you taste from the tamale and sauce. I felt a bit of a kick in the flavor as well. The tamale was probably the best thing we had.
Entrees: Ranch Style Egg Tostada. A sizeable scrambled egg atop a fried tortilla with a red chile sauce. The like how the crunch tostada provided a different texture from the fluffy eggs. Not very rich so it felt somewhat healthy. The cheese added a bit of needed fat that I felt was needed. Overall a decent dish.
Chicken and Sweet Potato Hash: Sweet potato hash was a bit strange for me. The hash made it too sweet and the chicken wasn’t spicy enough to make it all come together. The poached egg provided the fat but in the end just an OK dish.
The bread basket included an assortment of breads including the blue cornmeal cornbread muffin. I thought this was the star of the basket.
So Mr. Bobby Flay. The meal was pretty good. Some dishes better than others. I will definitely be back for the shrimp tamale and I heard there was a shrimp taco special which I wish I got. As for these brunch dishes, I think I’d prefer coming during another meal time to see what other dishes you have that aren’t so «brunchy».

Bobby Flay, you are my inspiration and my favorite chef! The bold flavors in all of your dishes ceases to always amaze me. I have been here countless times and Mesa Grill still always has something amazing to offer. I rave about this place all the time.
Smoked chicken and black bean quesadilla– Who orders quesadillas at a restaurant? Apparently, I do! This will be the best booty kicking quesadilla ever. The extra thin crispy tortilla smothered with smoked chicken pieces and soft beans. On top of the quesadilla, there was a nice smoked paprika, with some avocado crema to balance the texture out. BAM, this was by far just the perfect way to start off our meal! I mean of course, the bread basket was everything as well.
pork loin sandwich– everything down from the bread, to the soft tender pork loin to even the freshly made fries. The sandwich was everything. The tender pork was so soft and flavorful; it had a nice smoky chipotle flavor to it.
sweet potato hash w/​spicy chicken– Who would have thought sweet potatoes and eggs could mesh? The sweetness from the potatoes, the creaminess from the egg and the smokiness from the chicken. YUM
Stuffed chile relleno– in an awesome shape of a chile relleno, this dish is stuffed with delicious goodies. Eggplants and some cheese and the whole shabang!
Mesa Grill, you are by far one of my favorite restaurants on my list.

I am a huge fan of Bobby Flay. I was excited to try this place. We were seated right away at 12.45 PM on Saturday. The place was not packed, but it wasn’t empty either. Our server was really friendly and attentive.
On to the food. They give you 4 kinds of bread, my faves were the corn muffin and the sweet one (I think there’s cranberry in it). We ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with the fries and the tiger shrimp tamale. Both of them are amazing! Bobby takes the tamales to another level. It’s so tasty! The meat on the sandwich are just superb! My boyfriend does not usually eat sandwich, but he loves it! The size is pretty huge.
Oh and I order the cactus pear iced tea (they have the margarita version, but I don’t like alcohol). It’s good also!
This place is amazing!

It was good… but didn’t wow me.
The bread basket was very enjoyable with corn muffins, jalapeño bread and some soft butter. I ordered a piece of salmon that was actually really good but kind of run of the mill. The server recommended the cauliflower for an app but again I wasn’t wowed.
Something in this place just seems old and dated… the service was fantastic though and I absolutely loved my house margarita.

Mesa Grill is hit or miss depending on what you order here. I’ve had a mix of both hits & misses here and thankfully this visit was a hit.
This was a quick visit between my bar hopping and other eats this Vegas trip. I told myself I had to stop in here since it’s been a year or so since I last visited and I did just for an appetizer. If there’s anything I truly enjoyed from my previous visit, it was the sweet potato tamale that came with my pork tenderloin which prompted me to try the tiger shrimp and roasted garlic tamale this time around.
This tamale was very flavorful… a perfect blend of sweet corn and garlic. The tiger shrimp were a nice size as well as delicious. $ 18 well spent for a quick snack and worth it.
If there’s one thing I can say about Mr. Flay, he knows how to make some damn good tamales with any spin he throws on them. My taste buds love it which means this will most likely draw me back in for another visit.

I’m surprised that I didn’t hear more about this place before I visited because I thought it was great.
Both times I’ve eaten here I have opted for the New Mexican Spice Rubbed Tenderloin. I believe they boast this as one of their signature dishes and it’s for good reason. The tenderloin has great chile spice flavor and is the most tender pork dish I’ve ever had. The sweet potato tamale on the side is the perfect pairing with the chile tenderloin.
The bread basket served before the meal has a variety of breads and all are tasty. My favorite is the blue corn cornbread. The appetizer that sent my taste buds in a spiral was the Tiger Shrimp & Roasted Corn Tamale. The flavors in this appetizer are out of this world and the sauce is good enough to eat alone.

service was great — he made sure to ask if we were going to a show, and we were. so he kept us on time and ushered us out so we could get there on time.
the best thing all night was the shrimp and corn tamale — that had great flavor and was a unique dish.
we ordered several things off the menu but i had the lamb porterhouse chop — large serving, cooked medium rare. tasty but didn’t blow my mind. friends ordered the tuna steak, rabbit and salmon dishes — all were ok. for the price you pay, you’re really just getting big portions and little on flavor, technique or originality.
overall, it’s a very expensive steakhouse. mediocre, nothing terrible, nothing great. given that there are so many good places in vegas to eat, i would not recommend spending your money on this one.

This place is delicious and the food served here is quite unique in taste/​presentation. Nestled inside the Caesars Palace, Mesa Grill is one on Bobby Flay’s establishments that has been around for quite sometime and the menu has changed quite a bit for its original. The steak and the chicken are delicious and the mini tamales are ridiculously good. Overall, a great restaurant in Vegas that I’d recommend trying at least once.

This is the easiest 5 star rating I will probably ever write. Mesa Grill has everything I could ever ask for in a restaurant from look, feel, service, and quality food and drink… not to mention Bobby Flay. Our server has worked there since open, knows Bobby, and was able to recommend pairings and suggestions that Bobby would actually have. So if course a margarita and coffee rubbed filet, with tiger shrimp enchiladas, and cilantro mashed potatos it is. At first, I wondered how one could find a coffee rub on a steak appealing, but I found out. Words cannot describe the flavors in that steak … well I guess if I were on death row and got my last meal, I would have to have this steak.
Enjoy the time in the restaurant, keep an eye out because this is definitely a celebrity hide out Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond was in the house!

Decided to try one of Bobby Flay’s restaurant while in Vegas and seeing the great reviews on here.
Came here during lunch, didn’t have to wait and was seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious and pretty big, situated in Caesars palace next to the sports book.
Was served complementary bread which were unique. Jalapeño, cornbread, and walnuts and cranberry. They were all very good!
Order a rough cut tuna nachos which comes with avocado crema and mango habanero hot sauce. The tuna was very flavourful, nicely seasoned, the chips were home made and very crispy and both sauces paired very well with the tuna.
Also ordered a Cornmeal crusted Chile relleno with sweet pepper sauce. It had eggplant inside, with a nice spice and vinegrette that added just the right tang! The spice wasn’t too overwhelming but just enough to add a small kick!
The service was great too, had my water topped up many times!
Would love to come back during dinner after our meal today!

Came here last weekend for dinner. Had reservations but still had to wait a little bit.
As an appy, I had the tiger shrimp and roasted garlic corn tamale. Definitely recommended, the sauce is very delicious and makes the shrimp taste even better. But the corn/​maize that is leftover at the end is a bit weird.
I ordered the filet mignon medium rare and mash potatoes on the side. Had them to have everything come out quick because I was kind of in a time crunch. I was assured by the server it will be okay. Thankfully he was right.
The steak came out in a reasonable time and was medium rare like I ordered it. It was definitely delicious, but not sure if it can justify $ 50 USD. It should at least come with a side or two at that price. The mash potatoes were an extra $ 10 USD and there really wasn’t anything special about it. The mash potatoes were average at best.
Overall the food was great, but it is definitely on the pricier end for me. But it is Vegas after all. Food speed and service was reasonable. I would recommend it to others, but hard to say with so many other options if I would come back.

A worth it stop when in Vegas, heavy on southwestern flavors, you will enjoy Bobby Flay’s menu ridiculously. His menu modernizes traditional southwestern dishes, pairing spicy and sweet wonderfully.
Located in Caesar’s Palace, the décor is modern and bright with reds & yellows and an upscale but comfortable, intimate atmosphere. Be prepared for a wait without a reservation.
Bread Basket: Several varieties of warm fresh breads. The blue corn jalapeño muffins were a hit with this guy. Asked the waiter to bring more ASAP. Munched heavily on the asiago jalapeño bread as well.
Tiger Shrimp Roasted Garlic Corn Tamale: ($ 18) As the appetizer of the century I was more than happy to have ordered this. Shrimp was cooked lovely and dusted with spicy, sweet flavors. A warm, soft tamale wrapped up lime cilantro & a chipotle aioli. Nicely done sir, nicely done.
Grilled Lamb Porterhouse Chops: ($ 42) Decadent, fall off the bone lamb. The serrano chili sauce adds some warmth to the bite, without making you sweat. Not to overpower, a mint chimichurri adds a unique minty jalapeño aroma & character.
I shall return.

Décor was nice. Be warned if you want to eat at a table as they will ask you to remove any baseball caps. Alternative is to eat at the bar however everyone needs to be 21 years old.
We sat at a table all the way at the back where you can view the sports betting area. These tables are a bit weird though and best avoided (see picture) as the have a large mound like bit under the table which you end up having to place your feet on. It feels odd and uncomfortable. Go for the four legged table instead on the lower level.
We had spicy peppers cheese dip and blue corn tortillas for started which was excellent! For the main we had medium rare mesa burger. It was good. Caramelized onions, cheese and served with some excellent mustard (English i think) The fries were great. My brother had the shrimp tacos. He said it was good but it was too pricey for what you get. 6 shrimp, two soft tacos and some salad stuff. Tasty but not worth the price. Best avoided! Would I come back, maybe. I thought the food was good but did feel it was a bit pricey. It probably deserves 3 ½ stars.

Gleich neben dem vibrierendem Leben des Casinos strahlt das Mesa Grill in einer großartigen Dekoration und gewährt dem Gast trotz der Casinonähe angenehme Ruhe für ein hochwertiges Essen. Inspiriert wird die Küche hauptsächlich durch den Südwesten der Staaten. So gibt es viele mexikanisch geprägte Gerichte wie z.B. New Mexican Spice Rubbed Pork Tenderloin mit Bourbon-​Ancho Chile Sauce, Sweet Potato Tamale und Crushed Pecan Butter. Aber die Angebote gehen weiter und es fällt schwer, eine Entscheidung zu treffen.
Auf die Preise sollte man weniger achten, hier ist nichts günstig. Aber und das muss fairer Weise gesagt werden, es wird geliefert und das vom Feinsten.
Wir wählten Cascabel Rabbit ($ 38), Pork Tenderloin ($ 36) und eine Extraportion Tamale ($ 9). Die Preise verstehen sich immer + Tax und + Tip.
Der Hammer aber war der Wein! Unschlüssig, was wir wählen sollten (ein Roter sollte es sein), ließen wir uns beraten. Drei Angebote blieben dann letztendlich im Raum stehen und wir wählten den Zenith 2010 aus Oregon. Wir bezeichnen uns durchaus als Rotwein-​Kenner, hatten aber noch nie gehört, dass es Weine aus Oregon gibt. Das Servieren wurde zelebriert und schon der erste Degustations-​Schluck ließ die Augen rollen. Köstlich! Und noch spannender wurde es, als wir in Ruhe das rückwärtige Etikett auf der Flasche lasen: Es wurde exakt der Tag genannt, an dem die Trauben für diesen Wein geerntet (gepflückt) wurden, dann auch der Tag, wann sie in Eichholzfässer kamen und schlussendlich der Kalendertag, als die Abfüllung in Flaschen stattfand. Selbstverständlich trägt jede Flasche eine Nummer und ist somit individualisiert. Diese Flasche war nicht mehr nur ein Glasbehälter für Wein, sondern mutierte für uns zum liebevollen Leben.
Was haben wir eigentlich an diesen Tagen gemacht, so stellten wir uns die Frage. Leider hatten wir keine Kalender mit, um sie zu beantworten.
Der Preis: Erschwingliche $ 80 ++. Und damit nur im mittleren Preissegment der Weinkarte. Wir konnten uns nicht vorstellen, welchen Mehrgenuss die angebotenen Weine für mehrere hundert Dollar/​Flasche bringen sollten.
Fazit: Der Abend hat uns rund $ 200 für zwei Personen gekostet. Wir haben es uns gegönnt und waren sehr zufrieden. Wir verstehen jetzt, warum das Mesa Grill einen so exzellenten Ruf hat, in New York eh, aber seit vielen Jahren auch in Las Vegas. Ein Top-​Platz für einen besonderen Abend. Fünf Sterne.
