I do not care if I have to wait hours to see her, the approximate wait time at my oncologist office in Miami was 4 hours because he was the best.
Dr. Monroe continues to keep up with the latest advances in testing and disease prevention. Every time I go see her she has something new to offer me to make me feel better and look better. She has expanded her knowledge of supplements to assist in achieving optimal health. She is way ahead of any other dr in her field; she checks for more things than any doctor I have ever met. She discovered I have the MTHFR gene mutation: this alone could have prevented my ovarian cancer 5 years ago. If my former gyno would have known what to do about my hormonal imbalance while I was in perimenopause, I would not have developed a tumor that almost killed me. Not to mention, after my complete hysterectomy and chemo she was the only Dr. that brought me out of depression, fatigue, and many other unpleasant side effects of menopause without drugs.
True, there were some issues with the staff; she reassures me are being addressed with the necessary changes taking place. I trust her and I know she cares about her patients and will make the adjustments needed to provide the best overall service.
She is very much worth the plane ticket to go see her in Las Vegas and then some.

This is going to be the last time for me with this Dr. It’s been more than an hour waiting, I have to be at my work at 12 pm and there’s no sign of Dr. Monroe. They charged me $ 80 for the visit this time, and who knows how much it’s going to be for the pellets. $ 300, $ 400. It’s different every time. I’m tired of this money milking and waiting.

I had great hopes of finally finding a dr! Heard great things about Dr. Monroe. However, I had a difficult time getting an appt. The office answering machine kept answering and no calls were returned. I finally booked the appt thru an app zocdoc. I arrived at the office on time. Was told the dr was 30 minutes behind schedule. After 2 hours and 25 minutes I left. I got in the elevator with a woman who told me she is a great dr but the wait can be painful. I will not return to this dr.

Coming from out of state these reviews are pretty helpful. I found Dr. Monroe to be pleasant however, I was shocked at how long the wait was. I was glad that I made the decision to take the day off for the doctor’s appointment. It appears as though this is a typical substandard practice to exercise this form of customer service. This would never be acceptable where we are from. The Gynecologist was pleasant and demonstrated professionalism but I am concerned about going back because of the time constraints.

Office staff: Negavitve 10!
So I rated 3 star since I’m not sure.
All the reviews about Dr. Monroe’s great care, from my experience, are true. She could be naked and painted green for all I care (people discredit their valid input when they say stupid stuff about what a dr was wearing!)
But the disorganization of the office staff is OFF-​THE-​MEDICAL-​CHARTS!, and for someone to go school for a huge chunk of her life then pay (I’m guessing), next to nothing for lousy office staff (unless she’s stuck with a lazy dependent family member she’s employing), well, it just doesn’t make sense from a business perspective.
I have found, that if I TYPE my request (improper billing, scripts not called in, appointments never confirmed), and fax it in, I get a response with the business day. I know, archaic method, but the paper trail seems to intimidate the staff so I get what I need. My co-​pays have been screwed up since the beginning, and I received a $ 5 bill in the mail (which I paid immediately), which wasn’t credited by the next billing cycle (and it clearly was weeks beyond my check date), so I printed the cancelled check and will bring in w/​me to my appt this week.
Wait times: My appt is 9:45 am. If I’m kept waiting more than 45 min, I won’t go back… because the wait times have been excessive. It’s unreasonable to expect someone to wait 2 hours. It’s a total lack of respect for time, whether someone «plans ahead» or not. I only have so many non-​working hours… which should be spent doing more than staring at the looped Suzanne Somers video in her office lobby.
I had 3 co-​workers I referred, one went, experienced the 2 hr wait and a paperwork debacle, and the other 2 decided not to schedule, after 2 phone calls and no response indicating Dr. Monroe doesn’t need additional patients at this time.
Unfortunately, now that I know what I need, and I absolutely owe this to Dr. Monroe, if the office staff issue can’t be resolved, I’ll be looking for another doctor. Recommendations would be appreciated; I have Sierra Health Insurance.

Message to Dr. Monroe: You’re a fantastic doctor! Please fire your office staff and pony up and pay for a good team. I guarantee by word of mouth alone, your practice will flourish. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This is the hospitality capital of the world… there ARE office, scheduling and billing professionals who can in fact provide exceptional customer service, right here, in Las Vegas. Thank you for listening to this constructive criticism.

For all you people complaining about wait time, you need to take into account that all blood testing is done right there in the office, saving you another wait at another office for blood draw, most of your supplements are right there in the office saving you a trip to the store and Dr. Monroe takes the time to listen to all of your concerns and addresses them instead of prescribing a pharmaceutical and sending you on your way in five minutes. If you want substandard service go to a substandard Doctor.

Dr. Monroe is a great dr. I have been her patient for a few years now and she really has helped me. She diagnosed my thyroid problem. And since I’ve started using the vitamins she has recommended I have felt soo much better. She is a great doctor and am grateful to her for helping me feel better!

Dr. Monroe herself is fine but her office is a train wreck! Both times I had appointments I waited over 2 hours to be taken back to a room. I appreciate that there is often wait times at doctor’s offices but 2+ hours is ridiculous! I am a busy woman who works during the day, I essentially have to take sick time in order to be seen for routine visits.
The doctor also prescribed me medications that were contraindicated and canceled each other out, effectively making me waste money and time and go through all the side effects of fertility hormones without actually being able to benefit from their use. I’m thankful that the worst I’ve gotten out of this doctor was a failed fertility cycle and some long wait times, her carelessness and inability to communicate effectively could have caused much worse results!
Because of excessive wait times and the above mentioned carelessness in prescribing medications I have switched doctors. It has now taken me over two months and five or six phone calls (only have of which I was even able to get someone to answer the phone even during business hours) to get access to my medical records. My new doctor has sent multiple requests and every time I call to see why the records haven’t been sent, Dr. Monroe’s staff tells me they haven’t received the releases.
How this doctor is still in business I will never know. She may be friendly and warm for the fifteen minutes you have her in the room but that does not excuse her inability to manage every other aspect of her practice!

I read the reviews and some are definitely in need of happy hormones. Who cares how high her heels are or how she is dressed. Seems petty to me, I have to laugh. I have been seeing Dr. Monroe for years. Yes, I do wait but I always make plenty of time (when it pertains to my health.) I know when I get to see Dr. Monroe, she explains THOROUGHLY, and answers any and all of my concerns. I know when I leave that I am confident in all my Meds, and what they will do and the precautions. I know when she suggests a treatment it’s the newest, the latest and the most advanced treatment there is… Again, I’m here for her professional expertise and knowledge, NOT her fashion! Hope this helps people who can distinguish what really matters. Give her a try for yourself and see how much time she spends on each patient. And when you are waiting, know you will also be given the time you deserve.

I didn’t think the office visit was terrible. That was until… I tried calling because I was having a problem. I left a message with the answering service at 3:30 (the message says they are open to 5pm). The doctor didn’t call back.
The following morning, I called the office again. I spoke to someone, who listened to my problem, and when she realized that she couldn’t help me (as I needed the dr), I had to tell her the whole thing again, so she could write it down. She didn’t even catch my name. I did not hear back from the dr.
Obviously, I began looking for a new doctor. The had done blood work on my initial visit. I couldn’t get the results. I even went to the office, mid-​week, mid-​day, and it was locked.
Never again!!!

My appointment was an hour ago… still waiting. This seems to be the norm here as I waited 90 minutes at my last appointment. This is highly unacceptable!

I have to say, I agree with both previous reviews. Dr. Monroe is a fantastic doctor, my mother and I both think very highly of her. Her office staff, however, are absolutely terrible. They seem to hate their jobs, they are annoyed when you speak to them in person and on the phone. Every time I call, I am put on hold for 15 minutes at a time. I’ve actually hung up and called back with in 2 minutes and I get an answering service in the middle of the day. They say they are open Monday thru Friday, which has been no where near the truth. I have also spoken to the office manager and she has the worst attitude of them all. I can’t say going in there is ever a decent experience because of this. The level of professional is not even at mediocre. She had also prescribed me an ultrasound in an outside radiology office who informed me Monroe should have the results in the next 2 days. Monroe told me she would call me when she gets them with a plan of action. None of this happened. I finally had to call to get results, only to be called back with a prescription from office staff, not the doctor, and still no explanation. I have now been trying to get a refill on a separate prescription to no avail and no explanation. My pharmacy has also tried to contact them multiple times with the same result. I don’t know if something is going on but I at the least should be given some kind of explanation. I think Monroe has the potential to really be a wonderful doctor, I wouldn’t have started seeing her again if I didn’t think so, but my experience in her current office has not been good. And because of this I may be looking for a new doctor.

My visit to Dr Monroe was the worst experience I’ve had in a doctors office in years! I had an appointment and waited for an hour while the rude receptionist seemed irritated that I was asking her questions while she sent text messages on her phone at the front desk. I said something to the office manager and she was less than helpful and also seemed irritated that I would say something. I asked the Doc to call me because i was having some unexpected side effects from the meds she gave me, and did not hear back. My next appointment, I got my dates confused and was automatically added to the walk-​in list without being told, even though I pointedly stated that I thought I had a 10am visit scheduled. So 45 minutes later I was really getting steamed. I requested the doctor call me with test results if possible, and again, never heard back — this time in over 3 weeks! I wrote a letter to the doctor herself, and no one bothered to call or contact me in any way. And worst of all, she prescribed the right meds, but in the wrong amount and made my symptoms worse!!! She dresses too racy in short skirts and 4 inch heals and I would not EVER go back, and I strongly recommend that you don’t either. I used Unilocal to find a great new OBGYN at New Beginnings, and she is so good, I will gladly drive out of my way to see her!!!

please do not go to this women, she has no idea what she is doing, she has no right to be a doctor, please do not trust your well being to this women she will harm you. i have literally posted a review on every site she is affiliated with today, because i do not want her to have the opportunity to hurt someone else the way she hurt me .it would be far too much to try and explain what took place during my time as her patient, but the bottom line is that she knowingly made everything worse instead of better. this women is ignorant, unkind, and should not be trusted. i fully intend on doing everything in my power to have her license to practice revoked and word around town is i am not the only one who feels this way so please don’t add yourself to her list of mistreated patients!
