My first mistake was using 1800dentist. My dad living on a fixed income had a tooth ache. We received a same day appointment. I was quoted approx 180 $ for an extraction by Melissa. Which seemed steep but given we were paying cash there’d be a discount. The front office staff was rude and quick to take my payment. While reviewing the paperwork the staff was unaware of what a CVA was. My dad who has Alzheimer’s went back for X-​rays and to see a dentist. I informed the staff of his dementia and he wasn’t allowed to agree to anything without my consent. An hour later I was sitting at the desk reviewing my dads plan. Never met a dentist or the office manager that the staff continually needed to confer with.
After reviewing this thousand dollar plus plan I informed them once again my dad is on a fixed income. We were there to have his problem tooth extracted, once he obtained dental insurance we would seek advice for further treatment. Alisha told me the problem tooth was a wisdom tooth on the left upper side. But my dads complaint was lower right side. Again never spoke with the dentist. Finally agreed 2 teeth needed to be pulled the cost was 438 $. Not the 180 $ I was quoted. Alisha stated shed pull the phone records to verify that. Again informed my dad was on a fixed income and paying cash we would like a discount. Once again the office manager was consulted with a cash price of 416 $ offered. Only a 22 $ discount? After 4 hours my dad had 2 teeth removed and it cost him half his social security check. Unprofessional, disrespectful and an office of scam artists. You all should be ashamed of running a business this way.

Just walked out because Erica the «receptionist» wasn’t helpful or accomodating after we left our referral at home from the orthodonist. They simply said w/​out the referral we can’t help you. So we called the ortho ofc & got the referral faxed for my son to have 2 extractions, they faxed it & the young chicks at the front desk still seemed snotty so we told them we weren’t interested in their services and walked out. We paid cash for braces & were going to do the same for the extractions, we’ll go where they’re about business!!!

Be very careful when dealing with this Dental Office. My wife needed 2 teeth extracted. We have a Discounted Dental Program called 1Dental. As a dentist on the provider list they must charge the rates as agreed by the program. After the initial exam a staff member came and wanted us to sign the authorization for the services in amount of $ 670.00. As I asked to view the breakdown of expenses to compare with the contracted rates, she became
condescending and very rude. Each time I asked to compare the breakdown she became further upset and condescending and would not cooperate. She said that she did not have the
time for this and if we would not sign at that moment to get out. As I was dressed very casual
in shorts and t-​shirts we were treated as if we were of a lower class. Your method of dressing
does not indicate your ability to pay.

Plain and simple — DON’T GO THERE !
They bait and switch on you co payment with your insurance — before service they verify your co payment after service they send you a bill for more money claiming the insurance didn’t cover as they «expected» ! …been there 3 times — waited over an hour each time — today I just walk out of the room after sitting for over an hour for a cleaning — never to go back there again

I’d give them 0 stars, came for a cleaning and I waited for over 2 hours! I called ahead to mention I changed insurance they didn’t check because the receptionist forgot to call me! so it took them 2 hours to verify my insurance. That’s not it, last 2 visits I paid with cash and they lost the record or something so they tried to double charge me !! Worse service ever! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Most of the reviews that you see here on Unilocal for this office are old and some are not directly toward their service for surgery. You can check they’re reviews on Google and they actually have 4.8 stars. They probably now have new management or something.
I just had my two molars pulled and from the beginning till the end they took great care of me. One of the assistants even brought me outside on the wheelchair to the car that I was gonna ride on the way home.
I love this place. I recommend it.

I’m only giving it a star because I’m forced to. I went to the lake mead location because they worked better with my insurance than my regular office and I needed a bridge put in. While I was there I was told I had 3 cavities. Keep in mind I was coming from another office that said no mention of these cavities. I decided to hold off on getting them filled cause my other procedure was already going to be costly. When I let some time go by they kept calling me to come in and get them filled which didn’t sit right with me. So I went back to my regular dentist and they asked me my concerns. And I stated that I had 3 cavities I need to get taken care of. My dentist asked me why i would think that? And I told him that’s what I was told from this place. And he said my teeth are perfect and he didn’t see anything in my mouth or in my X-​rays but he’ll double check. Needless to say I had ZERO cavities! This place is such a scam and trying to just get as much money from you as possible. And at the expense of drilling in perfectly healthy teeth?! No respect for their patients what so ever!

Thank you all for posting. I’ve been here once a and I am scheduled to come in again for an extraction but my gum cleaning was not so great. They we’re impatient and billed me twice for services rendered once. They’re all about money not the patients. Don’t be fooled by other 5 star ratings I’m sure these reviews are from friends and staff as none are in detail of experience and none are less than 5 when good. Every review is 1 star or 5 stars, patients and staff. Bc I saw this I will not be using they’re services thanks all who posted. I’m sure with my phobia I dodged a big bullet.

This place is absolutely terrible. To begin with, they appear to be understaffed, indifferent, or both, as everything takes forever. I wanted a checkup and cleaning, and it took three and a half hours. Only about 25% of that time is actually spent with a dentist or an assistant… most of the time you sit in the room waiting for someone to show up. The dentist appeared to be running back and forth as quickly as she could, as she was apparently juggling multiple patients at the same time.
Everything is an upsell. I had braces years ago and the «dentist» claimed I now need them again — the Invisiline brand they happen to provide (despite the fact they are not orthodontists). The «dentist» also claimed I needed a deep cleaning, which the incompetent receptionist told me would cost $ 336.00 (even though I have insurance). When I balked at this, the price magically came down to around $ 100.00. The so-​called dentist found two fillings which needed to be replaced, and right around the time the incompetent receptionist determined the price of a deep cleaning would be around $ 100 rather than $ 336, she magically found yet another filling that needed to be replaced. The «deep» cleaning I supposedly needed took half the time of a usual cleaning, as the dentist rushed through it as quickly as she could.
My prior dentist did not find any of these problems (I changed because I prefer Saturday appointments, which my prior dentist stopped offering). I went ahead with what they recommended but am now convinced this was also, like the braces I supposedly need, part of their upsell. The so-​called dentist also claimed I need to come back in a month, at which point I’m sure they will find more things to sell me. I’m taking my business elsewhere. Keep away from this place, as it is nothing but a scam.
Oh, and one last thing to consider is that they charge $ 200 if you cancel an appointment without 48 hours notice. So if an emergency happens (you get in a car accident, you or a close relative/​friend has a medical emergency, etc.) and you can’t make your appointment, in addition to your existing problems you will have to pay these scammers $ 200.

I’m waiting now three hours for the office manager to call me back to discuss the lack in service provided this morning. EEEK! Methinks not.
Let me describe our visit, I’ll go into detail now, as I did not have the time to when I posted:
Boyfriend arrives at 9:45 for 10am appointment. Panorex started finally at 10:50am. It took her four tries to finally get it. The bite wings were very disorganized and at this point an employee walked in the room with an ipad to do a survey. How weird was that? How would u rate customer service? Um 1… How would you rate the efficiency of the office? Um 1… Would you recommend our office to a friend? Um NO … As if this was not a bad enough sign, he finally see dentist at 11:35am (10am scheduled appointment) for a total of 5minutes where she proceeded to do absolutely nothing but look at X-​ray and point out all the work he needed done. The dentist didn’t measure his gums, count teeth or anything that normally occurs in an exam and she definitely did not clean his teeth. The tech then began to polish his teeth. she did his back molars right side, left side, right side, left side. Bottoms only, and did not floss or clean the front teeth… what the heck!!? He left the chair at 11:45. This appointment was for «just an exam and cleaning». Ten minutes total of this hour and forty-​five minute appointment was spent inside his mouth. The rest was spent waiting. We think that the lousy service toward the end of his appt was because they surveyed him and realized he would not be coming back-​so they didn’t give a Flub.
My appointment was scheduled for 11:00, I am a busy business owner who has no time for waiting rooms, so as «a courtesy» I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. «As a courtesy.» Needless to say the rest of the appointment time did not go any better. The bite wing experience was awful. The dentist jabbed me with the scraper when she was examining my one molar that needs help, and the tech was using that oral surgery vacuum instead of the soft one so I left with three gouges in the soft palate. Un clean non flossed teeth. Ridiculous.
As a «courtesy» I explained to the manager that called me back that they better not bill my insurance. It will save them time and headache. I’ve already put in a complaint. Called them the second I was told that «I show that the dentist cleaned your teeth» we call BS and we think that the office just gets paid by all the X-​rays they do.
Is it possible that we are such good brushers that we did not need a dentist???

This office is a display of unprofessionalism at it’s «FINEST», from the front office staff sitting in the front reception area, speaking badly about patients that just left; to care coordinators quoting rates for services that aren’t covered by your dental plan, and not telling you about that until the day you show up for your appointment; and last but not least being scheduled for an appointment, arriving at that time, only to be made to wait another two hours. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN THESE REVIEWS BEFORE WE WASTED ALL OUR TIME AND MONEY, ONLY TO HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE AND SPEND MORE MONEY!!! MY ADVICE TO THE DR WHO OWNS THIS PLACE? STOP BEING CHEAP SPEND THE MONEY AND HIRE BETTER STAFF THE ONES YOU HAVE ARE HORRIBLE!!!

This place has great customer service at the front desk. Dr Martin was great at answering questions but come prepared, he will only answer questions asked. You’ll watch a video that preps you on the procedure that you are about to do or decide to do. The removal of both my wisdom teeth was fast and painless (45mins). The price was a bit up there ($ 900, was told $ 200/​tooth start depending on how easy to remove plus). Overall I would recommend.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. The receptionist is rude and appointments time are useless. It took me two hrs on my first visit to see someone and they were less than accommodating. On my follow up visit I was 10 minutes late and they said they would have to reschedule??? I work full time and in school full time and they didn’t even try to accommodate! complete and utter bullshit! I WILL NEVER COME BACK AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

My dental insurance provider changed so I called LV Oral surgery to schedule a cleaning there for the first time. I also had my previous dentist email all my records to them. When I arrived the staff took X-​rays and had me wait in the examination room.
For over an hour.
I was starting to get irritated by that point, and finally the dentist came in, though I had been expecting a hygienist since they’re the ones who do cleanings. He took a look at my X-​rays, and without even having seen my actual teeth pronounced that they looked great, and seemed irked when I looked like I was expecting a bit more than that.
Apparently to placate me he grabbed a tool and stabbed at my teeth a few times, jabbing me in the gums quite hard (the spot is still sore an hour later). His attitude was completely flippant, though he finally seemed to realize I was expecting a cleaning. He called in a couple of the receptionists and muttered at them for a while. Then he told me he could do a quick go-​over with an electric brush, but he had another patient so didn’t know how long I’d have to wait. So not only was he not willing to help me, but he had no idea how long any of his appointments might take.
I told the receptionist that I had specifically scheduled a cleaning, and she said that by law they needed to take x-​rays and do an exam first. Which is fine, but again, I scheduled a CLEANING, and apparently there was not even a hygienist present in the building today. That’s when I decided they’d wasted enough of my time and left.

I defiantly am taking my business somewhere else. I called to ask a question & the manager Renee gets all upset. Then I hear her on the phone talking about me to the other side to her coworkers. It’s very unprofessional. They said the next day about my insurance & it’s been a week. They blame my insurance company, I ask for an email of my X-​rays & I call them a week later because they didn’t send it to find out I have to come back & fill out a form. I wouldn’t go here, just be careful because you don’t know what kind of attitude your getting. I don’t trust them with anything now. They probably won’t even send over my X-​rays to another surgeon

I encourage you to RUN away from any interaction with Las Vegas Oral Surgery! I cannot overstate how disappointing my experience was…
In response to the follow-​up from the office — my experience mirrors all of the negative reviews listed here on Unilocal — I just wish I’d read the reviews before my LVOS consultation. I ended up paying a lot to LV Oral Surgery but it was well worth it NOT to have them work on my mouth. I’ve since gone to another surgeon and have had an excellent experience. RUN!

Just got my teeth cleaned again and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else! My brother and I have been coming here since we were kids and I’ve always left here with a smile on my face! Dr. Ponce is the absolute BEST! Along with The staff, they are always so helpful when it comes to answering all of my questions.

The worst experience I’ve ever had!
My husband went into their office to fix his front tooth in January. They pulled what was left of his front tooth out. He had a crown in there previously. They quoted us $ 1,100 for their services. We paid $ 760 of that. In the middle of everything they informed my husband that our insurance was not going to pay their amount since they pulled a perfectly good tooth. They wanted us to pay the rest of our portion and the insurances portion. Yeah, that wasn’t happening. They told us to put another claim in with the insurance and really that was their mistake. After battling them since January about my husbands mouth… He’s received threatening phone calls and abusive behavior from the office staff. Offering no resolution to the issue. I contacted our insurance and they did pay their portion. Plus they have our $ 760 and they are over charging us an additional $ 100 that they claim our insurance didn’t pay for. For 7 months my husband has had a temporary bridge in his mouth and the office staff will not resolve the billing issue.
This morning the lady in billing called my husband at 6:39 am to harass him about the remaining balance and threatening to send us to collections and not fix his tooth.
These people are horrible and I’ve never had such a horrible experience in my life!

So, I was silly and didn’t listen to my fellow Unilocalers about this place. It was close to work and open late and since I’ve needed to see a dentist for a few months, I figured, eh, why not. For the love all things, please don’t go here. Heed your fellow Unilocalers warnings, unlike me. It was horrible. The only thing good about the place was that the front desk ladies were nice.
Honestly, I don’t really know where to start, but I can say that I dislike dentists on the west coast in general, for they remind me of mechanics, but for your teeth instead of cars. The X-​ray technician seemed to know what she was doing, and I’m thankful for that, but that’s where it ends. One of the people that was helping the X-​Ray technician mark what I had already had done to my teeth in the past and problems in the present had to ask questions about the program she was using. Yep. The dentist herself came in for a whole 5 minutes, poked around at my teeth, told me a bunch of stuff I needed done with little to no explanation and left. I didn’t see my X-​Rays or anything. She also told me I needed a bunch of work that I know is not, by any means «urgent» as she was the only dentist that has said I needed it. A bunch of the stuff she listed off was just cosmetic work. Of course, like everybody, they said I needed a deep cleaning on two quadrants of my teeth, so I was like what the heck, why not. I did it and regret it.
The lady cleaning my teeth didn’t have the proper equipment to set the device that shoots water into your mouth on, so she made me hold it. First time for everything, I guess. Not only that, but I can honestly say I was a wee bit nervous while being worked on. I’m fairly glad I don’t work on that side of town anymore and now know to research dentists before going to them. By far the worst dentist experience I’ve had in my life, but then again, I’m bias against west coast dentists.
