La Quinta Inn & Suites Las Vegas Tropicana

Really 3.5 stars. I love LQ for the free breakfast, wifi, and pets. This place is nicer than many.
There is only one problem with this hotel. The neighborhood. It’s not great. I’m pretty sure I witnessed both prostitutes and drug dealers on the corner at night. Unfortunately, this is pretty common off the strip in Vegas. The hotel itself is safe, but I would feel better if there were a security guard in the parking lot after dark.

Great customer service!!! It is located in s nice part of Las Vegas, BUT it is in desperate need of a renovation. I’m a fan of the La Quinta chain but this one is not the best. It pains me to say this because the customer service is great!

I’ve never been to a bad La Quinta. Every time I’ve ever stayed at one they are always clean, nice rooms. Their rates usually aren’t to bad… sometimes a little more pricing but you do get a better quality hotel with them.
I got a really good rate to book this one and it was definitely a nice, clean room. Not to mention it was quiet :-) and not a bad location for being off the strip.
I did have a couple negatives here though… give me the wrong wifi password and when I called they laughed and then gave me the correct one. Don’t quite get what was so funny about that. My other negative was on my check out day… they called the room exactly at noon to make sure I was checking out which I have never had happen anywhere I’ve stayed at. What topped that I needed to make multiple trips to take all of my stuff out to my car so when I went back to get the rest of my stuff after the first trip they had already de-​activated the room key so I couldn’t get back in. Luckily there was a staff member near by so I didn’t have to go back to the front desk to be let back in to get the rest of my stuff from the room.

My sisters and I stayed there for 3 nights and four days. The staff was very nice and helpful. We got there very early around 8am and and our check in time wasn’t until 3pm. The manager was nice enough to get us a room within an hour. The best part there was no additional fee. We also were able to take advantage of the free breakfast. The pool and jacuzzi was newly fixed. The pool area looked clean, we didn’t utilize it though. We did have an adjoining door connected to our room which was a little unexpected, but it was fine. Our beds were comfortable and we always had more than enough towels. There was a clean iron and iron board in the room. A small coffee maker and a hair dryer, refrigerator, and microwave. Again the staff was great! It is close to several fast food places that you can walk to. I would stay here again. We didn’t have any troubles at all. I had been worried about loud dogs or smelly bed because of the dogs, but there was none of that. I had a great visit. It made my Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend and first trip to Las Vegas a great one.

Here’s my big issue with this place. We booked a jacuzzi room ahead of time and when we got there no one told us it was broken. It wasn’t until we tried to use it that it wasn’t working and I called down to see what’s up. The lady at the front desk then told me, «oh someone should have told you at check in that it’s broken in that room.» REALLY??? What the f*ck. Not apologetic at all. Pretty much made me felt like I was a dick for asking why it wasn’t working. To make things worse, it was CHRISTMAS. 1. Trying to rip someone off on Christmas… seriously? 2. Being mean to someone on Christmas… wow
I love La Quinta’s because I can travel with my dogs easily and not have to worry. But it made me so upset because all I wanted to do was to relax after walking around.
But ruining someone’s Christmas when they’re already on the road away from home is not cool. It makes me not want to stay at another La Quinta again.

Rooms are clean. Front Desk clerk very friendly. Very nice alternative to the busy strip. Quite and clean.

Great place… nice and clean amenities with continental breakfast. Convenient location. My friend and I drove down to Vegas from ca for the night and got a great rate considering she had two chihuahuas. No extra per fees at all the inns. Therefore our choice of hotel stays were limited. Luckily no extra fees for the dogs and front desk was very helpful and hospitable. I forgot my luggage and they hooked me up with all kinds of toiletries. Definitely worthy of five stars!

Ok, so this place I admit was a last minute choice due to some changes that occurred (overnight)…I had to urgently cancel a reservation at the Palms casino so I can accommodate bringing my dog to Las Vegas for the weekend… Labor Day Weekend I might add. All pet friendly hotels were SOLD OUT so we finally came across La Quinta and YES they had a king room available so we booked it! NO PET FEES AND NO RESORT FEES! What??? There is also a little dog park on the hotel property for dogs to do their business and NO size or breed restrictions! Awesome.
We arrived to Vegas at 8am Saturday morning and our room wasn’t ready until 3pm :(BUT the front desk attendant did allow us to check in early while moving some things around he did notice I was tired had my dog in the car and it was 101 degrees out, we did have to pay extra but that was worth it. The king room was comfortable and CLEAN and there is an ice machine right across room 102 not having to walk far at all. The property does completely lock all doors after 11pm and you can only enter with your room key even the main lobby but there is always a clerk at the front desk 24/​7, felt very safe. Another perk was free breakfast from 6am-​10am with a great selection of waffles, cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, coffee, etc. Also they have late night snacks and a great selection of foods you can purchase at the front desk (pizza, sodas, chicken pot pie, burritos, chips, etc). We will definitely be back and this stay was well worth it. Only 5 minutes from the strip by the way! Highly recommended!

Came from Chicago arriving at 2am without any reservation. After calling several of the 5 star hotels on the strip and being rejected (most not answering– only during business hours), this hotel answered and rates were reasonable.
Room was very clean, a little humid, but clean and with all white clean sheets and towels. Definitely got my money’s worth!

After seeing all the good reviews of this motel we drove right to it when we got to Las Vegas. The motel was nice and our room was clean but no place to take our dog out to go potty. No grass at all, some dirt and rocks. We were afraid to walk anywhere because the location of the motel was very sketchy. Not a place where we would walk, especially at night. Its a good place to stay if you want to go in your room and not come out until you leave.

Awesome! Very clean, friendly and although it’s pet friendly hotel there was no sign of any pets in my room (fur or scent). The thing that amazed me the most was that there was always someone cleaning something here, which explains why it was so clean! Definitely would stay again! Thanks La Quinta Inn for a wonderful stay.

Finally, a decent La Quinta!!! I was given a clean, beautiful room with a jacuzzi. I don’t usually care about things like that because I’m not really a «bath» person, but even I couldn’t resist. It even has a TV on the wall.
The customer service was fabulous. He answered all my questions and even ran out to my car because he forgot to give me my elite gift. I thought it would be weird having a semi underground room, but I ended up loving it!

We can’t put ½ stars so just an FYI I’m giving this hotel a 4 ½ stars. Wasn’t able to find a sitter on time to watch my children (my 2 dogs) so I brought them along to Vegas with me. La Quinta is a pet friendly hotel with no pet fees. It’s just down the street from the strip. My stay was very pleasant and the bed! Let me tell you about the bed… I got a king size and it was so plush and comfy I pretty much slept like a baby. No complaints here! Only thing I am –½ for is the pet area. There’s no grass it’s just dirt and rocks/​gravel. My pooches aren’t used to doing their business in that type of area so took them a while to go. Other than that, free breakfast, nice rooms, pet friendly, and no pet fees! Can’t go wrong with that!

This is probably one of the best La Quintas we’ve ever visited, & it will likely be one we’ll be visiting again.
The lobby is very nice and inviting-​very nice décor. Staff is very pleasant and helpful.
Check-​in and check-​out were both quick and easy.
Wifi worked easily.
Although we didn’t end up going, the pool and spa are both indoors and are open 24 hours (BIG PLUS).
Probably the reason we didn’t end up visiting the spa and pool was because we ended up staying in one of the rooms with a jacazzi in it. That was probably the highlight of our stay. Capping off a day in Vegas with a nice soak before bed is PRICELESS.
The jacuzzi is in a separate area to the side of the room. The TV on the wall is a nice touch as well!
The bathroom was pretty spacious. This room had a King size bed, which was very comfortable.
The TV worked just fine.
The AC also worked well.
Since we travel with our pooch, La Quinta has always been an option & is usually our to-​go spot. This visit reminded us why it’s such a great place for us to stay. The room was very comfortable for the three of us; we were placed in a room toward the end of the hall, so we had easy access to the outdoors when we needed to take the pooch out for her walks. There are not a lot of grassy options, but the doggies will eventually get used to Doing their business out there if they aren’t used to that type of terrain. There IS A small patch of grass along one end of the parking lot, if need be.
Plus, no pet fees? A doggie family can’t go wrong here.
The breakfast was a solid La Quinta breakfast: hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, waffles, cereal, juice, coffee, muffins, yogurt.
Overall, this was a wonderful stay at La Quinta. Can’t wait ’till the next visit.

I am a fan of LQ due to their generous pet policy. We often travel with our pets. This LQ is aligned with the other LQ hotels I have stayed at. Room was clean, bed soft and inviting. Breakfast was standard, make your own waffles, peeled hard boiled eggs (yes, I am that lazy), juices, coffee, cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast. Spacious room, we have our triathlon gear which includes three bikes, and we’re not tripping over anything. Extra toiletries if you forgot something, and a fishbowl where you can drop in your business card to try and win a night’s stay.
I appreciate the absolute quietness of this hotel, it’s off the strip, but close.
Pool and spa are 24/​7, which I appreciate.
I’d come back. I like it better than the other LV LQ we stayed at years ago.

. We were very pleased with this La Quinta! The hotel has been updated, I think. The lobby and breakfast area are nice. Our room (211) was clean, spacious and the bed was very comfortable! The location was good… well lit at night when walking doggies.
Breakfast is basic, but is included. Waffles, bagels, cereal, hard-​boiled eggs and juices.
If you are an over packer like I am, stay on the entry level (level 2) because there isn’t an elevator.
We would definitely go back when traveling with our puppies!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this hotel when I booked it. I didn’t want to stay in the strip and their photos were very enticing on the website. And it was really cheap.
We got here on a Thursday from driving from Colorado. We got here at 1:30 pm and they had the room ready for me! They have no pet fee! I entered the lobby area and it was already very nice.
I entered the room and was expecting less than what I got. The room is cute! And clean! And beautiful! We stayed on the main floor because I had my dog with me. But that was no biggie. I love my room! Ian very pleased.

We hardly take the furry one on vacation with us because we didn’t think hotels were that dog friendly. You can always get a cheap rate on strip or off strip, but your choices are pretty limited when you have a pooch traveling with you. Luckily, after some research, we found a few places off strip that were affordable (La Quinta being one of them).
There weren’t a lot of reviews for this particular La Quinta, but I’ve stayed at another La Quinta in Northern California before and it was pretty decent (affordably and clean).
From the moment we walked in, the staff was courteous and helpful. We checked in late in the afternoon and they even called our room about 15 – 20 minutes after we checked in to see if we needed anything.
The rooms are pretty basic, but had the essentials we needed (fridge, microwave, hair dryer and a TV with cable!).
We stayed on the first floor, which was actually one level below ground level, facing the parking lot. At times it was loud, but not terrible since we were pretty tired most nights.
If you need to bring Fido with you on vacation, La Quinta Inn is a great choice. I really enjoyed a smoke free hotel and the freshly baked cookies they have at the front desk in the evening aren’t bad either. We didn’t really get to try their complimentary continental breakfast, but it looked like it had some pretty good options (hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, yogurt and milk).
