very strange salon. no other customer was there when i went. guy did my pedi. it was ok

I’ve been here 4 times and each time all get the mani and pedi with gel. I normally come when it isn’t so busy, which is usually on a weekday morning. They are always friendly, nice, efficient, and most of all do a great job. I don’t understand all of the other negative reviews on here, because everytime I go my toenails and nails look awesome!!!

I was a walk in customer… who received a manicure, and pedicure. The service was great and also fast. The staff (Ana /​Lido) was excellent, and the prices were also great! If you’re looking for a clean and professional nail salon on the southwest side then this is the place to go! Thanks, Kat

Every time I come here I’m greeted by the most friendly staff and the service does not disappoint.

I got a gel manicure and pedicure here a week ago and was and am very pleased. The gels still look great. They are just like I like them. They had the color I wanted which sometimes doesn’t happen at other salons. Without my asking they suggested a corresponding pedicure color. It was a great pedicure! Very thorough. He sloughed my calluses (admittedly not too bad) and took the time to do it very gently. Instead of just rubbing really hard to get it done fast. The paint was applied perfectly. I scheduled an appointment but was running late and they were very understanding. I will definitely go back.

Lido did my nails. I left relaxed and felt very calm. Plus my nails look beautiful. Highly recommend. Georgia

Ivy and Lindo are the best! Glad I tried coming here cause a friend of mine suggested me to come here. Thanks to Lindo I got no more dry skin on my nails. And Ivy is the one who’s in charge with your finger nails, she really takes time to make them nice and pretty. So far this is the nail salon that made me satisfied.

This was my first experience and my last one at this salon. Serving in the military, I need a neutral, square short nail. As she was doing my nails they were starting to look crooked and uneven. I told her many times that they did not look the same and she had no care of fixing them. After, the color that she picked had sparkles, when I had already told her I didn’t even like it. I told her I was very unhappy with the result while she continued to finish them. She still charge me the 35 dollars us the horrible pedicure that was very unsanitary! This was the worse 60 dollars I have ever spent.
I drove to Sweet Nails off of Cactus and Southern Heiland and they took care of me.

I do not recommend this place. I just moved from the east side to the west so I got on Unilocal to review a few nail salons and on my way to one that had great reviews, I passed right in front of this place that had a sign in the window which said and I quote“mani & pedi special for $ 45.00 with FREE GEL. (Remember $ 45.00 mani pedi w FREE Gel) I think hmmm well that’s a good deal. I usually pay about 55 – 60 bucks + tip w gel mani glitter and reg pedi. Maybe I’ll just stop in there, give them a chance and when they do a fabulous job write a great review! Well exactly the opposite happened. I walk in, I’m the only person in there, I start to browse gel colors and one of the ladies tells me to have a seat and she’d bring the gel colors to me. I sit and she brought over only 2 rows of gels w approx 20 colors. She said do you want both feet and hands gel? I say no just hands. Well after literally having no choice in colors I go with my standard white diamond. Ok so we get started. First of all the water was freezing cold. I have to ask for warm water. Second no one turned on massage chair or asked if I wanted it on. Since they started my hands immediately I had no way to try and figure it out myself. have one girl working on my feet and one on my hands at the same time. I get one coat of gel polish on my toes, and one coat of glitter but on my hands I get three coats of white and 1 coat of glitter plus clear gel., so that was odd. Before the lady started to pain my toes, I asked her to trim my nails as they were too long to my liking. She said but «oh so pretty». I said yea but I could feel them when I wear gym shoes. She cut one nail and processed. I DONT like long nails. I notice the 3 ladies in there all wore long nails which is fine, to each there own but why should I have to tell you more then once. Anyway, pedicure done in 20 min. No trim, no real cuticle work and instead of filing she used the electric thing around my cuticles which kept burning. So fine. I had already made the decision in my head to not come back. Hands were done in about 30ish minutes. Polish Job not great but at least she tried. I could tell it wasn’t easy to pain my nails while sitting in pedi chair. Ok so the KIcKer. I go pay and its $ 75.00. Waaaattt? I expected 55 because I figured I would pay an extra 10 for the diamond glitter. I said your sign says 45. Oh well it’s with one free Gel not two., so basically I paid 85.00 for a half ass job. Do not go there. They do not care how your nails look and take shortcuts to get them done., not worth it for the price. I guess had they taken there time and did it right, I wouldn’t be so irritated

I don’t like to give one star reviews, especially for my own people but I honestly wished I had checked Unilocal prior to taking my teenage daughter here to get her fill. I usually go to a nail salon on Buffalo for my own nails but decided to stop here since it was in our neighborhood and was convenient since we wanted to stop by Ice Monster for boba. Walking in, we were greeted by the owner, who was working on another customer and tells us it would be about an hour for before they could get to us. Contemplating whether we should just go elsewhere or wait, an older lady near the back of the salon comes up and greets us and tells us we can get in now for a fill. She was really nice with a great smile and bubbly personality but handed my daughter off to a younger technician to do the fill. In Vietnamese (and I do speak fluent Vietnamese) the older lady asks the younger lady if she could do the fill; without even looking up, she begrudgingly said «ok».
Well, she gets started on my daughter’s nails and doesn’t even look up at me or acknowledges me… no hello, how are you.nothing.she also says nothing to my daughter while I stand there next to them. My daughter gives me a bewildered look and just shrugs. I tell my daughter I’ll be back and head over to Ice Monster to get our boba drinks.
When I return, I go back to where my daughter is and drop off her boba drink and since the technician doesn’t even look up, I mouth to my daughter «how’s it going? has she said anything to you?» my daughter replies with a shake of her head no. So I try making conversation, I say in English «that’s a nice color»…silence…so I say it in Vietnamese this time… still no response… OK so I tell my kid, I’ll be over on the couch waiting for you.
When she was done, I pay $ 15 for the fill give the girl a $ 5 tip (I always tip no matter what cause either way, she provided a service AND a lot of my family also does nails and own nail salons in San Francisco and it’s just courtesy for me). Anyways, so we leave and get into the car and I ask her if Kim (her name on her license on the wall) even said two words to her and her eyed got wide and she said YES. After my attempt to speak to the technician in Vietnamese and got nothing and walked away; that’s when she proceeded to ask my daughter a series of questions:
Kim: Is your mom Filipino?
Daughter: No, she is Chinese and Vietnamese so I am black/​Chinese/​Vietnamese
Kim: Oh, you don’t look black. So you live here?
Daughter: No, I live in the Bay Area, I am here visiting my mom
Kim: OH, you live with your Dad? Why you don’t live with your mom? How can you live with your Dad and no mom?
Daughter: uh, I live with my Dad and my stepmom.
Kim: Oh, what is your stepmom?
Daughter: My stepmom is Korean
Kim: Oh your Dad likes Asian women
Daughter: Yes, and my mom likes black men (and?)
Nothing after that… umm, my daughter said it was the most awkward of a nail session she has ever had and she felt like the nail technician was totally judging her. Needless to say we won’t be going back there anymore.

I walked into this place on accident. I normally go to Angels nails on Jones. And when they were full I was looking for diamond nails, but for some reason siri took me here :-(I really needed a color change/​fill and a pedi so I figured why not.
The pedi was OK, the man gave a great massage but his toe nail painting was a joke. Sooooo sloppy! Even after he tried to clean them up when I got home I realized I still had red all over my toes.
Next was my finger nails omg… I’ve never hated nails before normally im easy to please but this was ridiculous. I asked just to have a fill and color change but the girls mentioned my nails were crooked? I hadn’t noticed because I thought they were perfect, but im not the «professional» so I assumed maybe she saw something I didn’t? But she totally changed the shapes on my nails and did it sooooo bad. My nails are a mess! They are terrible and one is so crooked im ashamed. I have to go back to Angels and have them fix this 100 $ mess! Never again. 100 $ for sloppy toes and even sloppier finger nails.

Horrible… Half ass pedicure and then a different tech rushed through manicure. Burnt me several times with the drummel and crappy gel application and uneven filing of nails.

In short, I’ve never had such a bad nail experience in my entire life. I stopped in here as a last-​minute decision to get a gel manicure. I was a bit wary right as I walked in because the place is not very clean, and there was a guy sitting at the register who glanced over and then continued reading his magazine. I waited another awkward 30 seconds and then he asked if I needed something. I asked how much a gel mani was, and he took the ghetto countertop sign and handed it to me without a word. Then a lady who seemed like the owner or boss came over to ask what I needed. She was nice, but it seemed there was lack of communication between her and Gemma, the lady who did my nails. First they didn’t have the color I picked, which was a very simple light pink with subtle glitter, for $ 35. So the owner lady told Gemma to use the hard gel version because it’s harder and thicker and my nails are kind of thin.
As Gemma started working on my nails, I began to suspect that she did not know what she was doing. Once she was done with all of the cleaning of the nail and cuticles and nail bed, she began the polish job. I could tell by the base coat that it was not going to be even. She had me dry them with streaks in the gel. I just prayed that the color part would smooth it out.
The next part was her trying to use the hard gel. OMG. She seriously put a giant dollop of the gel on and then tried to shape it with the brush. The end result was a huge round piece of gel on my nail. After the 3^rd nail, I told her no, this isn’t going to work. She said, «Sorry, this isn’t what I thought it was. I’ve never worked with this before.» I told her she needed to remove it. The owner lady came back and said hard gel is supposed to be thick and pointed out it’s usually $ 5 extra but she wasn’t charging me. I was like, UH, NOT this thick, and no thank you.
Gemma took off the hot gel and just used glitter over a light pink. The end result was so lumpy and polish dripped into my cuticle beds. My left middle finger nail was so uneven, she attempted to fix it by filing down the polish after it dried, then reapplying the glitter. It was just so sloppy.
At this point I had been here for over an hour and a half and I was getting PISSED. I told her to skip the massage because I had to go and did not have time to sit there while she kept trying to fix her crappy nail job. UGH, just thinking about it has me steaming mad.
I checked out and paid, but will NEVER again set foot in this place. I mean, if they could fuck up something so simple as a gel manicure, how the hell are they in business doing more complicated things like nail design? The biggest waste of time and money ever.

I came in today wanting to get my nails done and have that luxury of getting my nails done on a client level. Granted, I am a professional nail technician myself and normally I wouldn’t go the extra mile and complain about my nails being messed up because I can fix the problems if need be. however, this visit was the cherry to my Sunday so, I thought I’d speak my mind via Internet. I as a professional shouldn’t have to tell another professional how to do their job but as a professional you should know that you have to be constantly asking questions to the client regarding your work, alway ask questions. Client consulting is important in our field of work and is stressed very much in school. Don’t assume that the client is happy with your work simply because they don’t say a single thing, That is the worse response a client can ever give you. Ivy, I do agree with you when you made that remark to my friend and I about nail techs sticking up for one another, but, Having heard your threats of reputation and word getting around having my friend and myself being nails techs, this in regards to future business relationships a.k.a working at other nails salons, that does not bother either one of us simply because you yourself do not practice what you preach and honestly it worries me the most that it seems like you could care less for the health and well being of who matters the most, your clients. I as a knowledgeable professional put my jobs reputation on the line, on the daily when I work with my clients because I have nothing to hide and I do what I do out of pure happiness, it’s not just for the money. I’m calling you out because clients need to be paying attention to what they’re paying for. My friend and I both had our wallets out ready to pay, We understand that your time spent on the service shouldn’t be left un-​gratified, but after we expressed our complaints you jumped into conclusions and simply encouraged us not to pay, leave and never come back. Which leads me to wonder if you yourself knew all along how bad our experience was? It’s individuals like yourself that make our industry look bad and make my career look like a joke. This is by far the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I stopped in yesterday after work wanting to try this new place closer to my house out at about 4:10pm. I walked in and was greeted and sat down quickly. I told the lady I was looking for a gel removal and reapplication, I chose my color and they began to soak my nails in acetone. I explained it was hard gel and they may want to file it down a little but she disregarded it. 25 minutes later, she returned and surprise surprise it wouldn’t scrape off. It took over an hour for her to get the gel off my nail, she even tried to use a regular nail file to get it off. At this point I was just frustrated but decided to just have the color put on and be done with it. She proceeded to do a manicure, in which I declined previously but she said it was a special and proceeded. She cut my cuticle, twice and never filed nor shaped my nails. Then the gel came, and oh my god, the polish job was like my child had did it. She would apply a coat and it was so thinned out it wouldn’t stick to my nail. She would apply and then back under the light, One by one. I asked her if she could just paint them all and then dry so I could go and she became even more flustered. My eyes were filling with tears I just couldn’t believe how bad my nails were looking and how long I’d been there. I ended up asking for some type of glitter on top because the pastel blue was so horrible. She told me yes that would make them look way better but told me it’d be an extra 5 $. Haha I lost it. I got up to leave and she called over another lady to help. They just piled this gel on top of my nails and apologized. She took 10 $ off my nails, bringing my total to $ 35!!! I just wanted to leave so I paid and finally walked out at 6:38pm! Over 2 hours for a gel manicure. I got in my car and just cried. This was a horrible way to end my day. I will never ever go back and I just had to share my experience so maybe I can save someone else. My nails are separating from the polish already after 24 hours! I still have gel stuck around my nail bed and my cuticle burns Everytime I wash my hands! I made an appointment with my old salon tomorrow there’s just no way I can keep this garbage on my nails!

Had a very pleasant experience at this salon. I got the Pedi & Fill combo which you get free gel included. I strongly recommended Roxanne. She gives great massages and have very nice personality. Great Atmosphere !
I went to the Highland Nails across the street by Smiths and also Diamond Nails which are very close by and the front reception was very rude. So this shop will be my new go to place

Terrible don’t come here waited in a chair for an hour soaking my feet before I got my pedicure… I called to make an appointment. I don’t understand why Asians say they have some available of the really don’t. Waste of time.

Very friendly & such a clean and up to date styles. Ivy is amazing! Her work is breath taking! She takes pride & cares about what you want! I highly suggest giving this place a try if you are looking for unique affordable nails! I will be back! ask for Ivy!

My bank says that since Mia did not give me proof of the $ 100 I gave her in cash and since they did not void out my debit transaction they are not going to fight 3D. No cash receipt=She ripped me off.
Every time I call the salon they act like they do not know what I’m talking about.
Do not go to this place. They make up prices… notice the place has ZERO prices anywhere.
They charged me $ 81 for a pedicure and a gel nail fill. Of course I tip high and I made the total equal $ 100.
The owner of this place will not return my calls and now they decide they will respond on here?
What a joke!
They cost me $ 100×2!!! Plus a gel fill that lifted two days later!
