Hand In Hand Preschool & Early Development Center

My daughter has been attending this school for 7 months now and it has been a great experience for us. We started off part time/​3 days a week and just recently switched her to full time. The school has worked with me from the beginning with my weird schedule. The front desk ladies know my daughter and I by name. My daughter’s teachers are awesome! She loves them and has been making friends left and right. I love seeing their artwork on the walls and my daughter has learned so much for attending less than a year! There’s honestly nothing bad to say about this school. Every teacher I’ve spoken to truly care about kids!

My daughter has been going here since November 2014. She started in the toddler class which took her 2 weeks to adjust since this was her first time at a daycare/​preschool. She moved to the 2 – 3 year old class a few months after her 2^nd birthday. Then once she was potty trained she moved to the 3 – 4 year old class which was a few months before her 3^rd birthday.
I feel that she has learned a lot socially and academically. Her toddler class did art work, sing songs, story time, snacks, and recess outside. Her 2 – 3 year old class did similar things as the toddler class but with a little more challenging crafts. Her 3 – 4 year old class is where she learned more academically. They learn a different letter and number every week. They practice reading and writing, develop their math/​critical thinking skills, social studies, scientific thinking development, personal work habits, and social development.
Every week is a different theme that the kids learn about like the weather, holidays around the world, police officers, presidents, etc.
I can tell my daughter enjoys Hand in hand because she will tell me on the weekend «I will go to school to see my friends.» Then I have to remind her it’s Saturday and that she’ll see them later.
As a parent I am very happy with my daughter attending this school. The front desk ladies are very nice and know my name as well as my daughter’s name. As for that bad review, English is that woman’s second language which explains why some people may find her hard to understand. But in my opinion she speaks well enough to do her job. And it isn’t a credible review if it is simply based on a phone call. Hand in hand also has a website

My daughter has been going to Hands in Hands at this location for about a year now. At first, I was ready for a rocky transition that goes along with a new day care, but to my surprise there was no transition period at all. Dia started looking forward to going to school from her 2^nd day which told me that she was really happy there. She was happy when we dropped her off and also when she was picked up. This was so different form our previous experience with a horrible childcare located along Silverado Ranch Blvd. We were so grateful to have found Hands in Hands and for their caring director, teachers, and the support staff.
After couple of weeks my daughter started crying over the weekend to GO TO school. She would wake up and start calling her teachers names. Shawna! Becca!!! when we tried to explain that there was no school she would start balling and all we could do was laugh. :)

First time mom putting her 1 yr old in daycare for the first time can be pretty freakin scary. I did A LOT of research. I was actually referred by a coworker to Hand in Hand. She goes to the location in the SW and loves it. The pricing is pretty good compared to the other places we toured. We’ve been coming here for over 4 months and our 1 yr old loves it! They do a lot of art, singing and reading. Everything has been great so far! I hope we have found the preschool that my child can grow with until she is ready for kindergarten! We had our son enrolled with them when he was about 18 months and started with a good experience. We liked the workers and the class and were seeing positive results in his development and he was happy. Then the new school term started and he went into the 2 – 3 yr old classroom. We almost immediately started seeing a negative effect. First week he got bit. I expect this to happen from time to time. What was alarming was that no one caught it until after his nap which means no one saw it happen. The classroom he is in has way too many kids (42 by the count on the sheet). Yes they are meeting state standards (we are informed) of child to worker ratio but we know things aren’t being caught and that many kids in one room causes all of the kids stress. The last class he was in didn’t have half that much. I understand that the first week of a new class is stressful for kids but it goes on. We don’t get the detailed reports like we did with his previous class. We are no longer sure if he is getting long enough naps or how much he is eating other than what gets left in his lunch bag when picked up. Our child was already starting to develop worse behavior at home that had us suspect that he wasn’t getting long enough naps or was being over stressed or something was going on.
The above wasn’t even the worst. Today as I was dropping off my child, I heard two of the workers talk about withholding snack from one of the children for misbehaving (not talking about doing, had already done it and one was informing the other that was the reason the child was upset). I’m not sure if it was delaying or outright withholding but it doesn’t matter. That is a child development no-​no. We pulled our child out that day.
Update: I’ve actually had other parents contact me on this (good for parents that are concerned!) We have since spoken with the director of the facility as she had serious concerns regarding all of this. Our experience with the director is that she is a person that really cares about her school and the programs that they offer. She alleviated some of our concerns (especially the food concern, which she agree that no staff is ever allowed to do) and gave a reasonable explanation of what actually occurred from the overheard conversation (that the child wanted food from his prepared lunch when it wasn’t lunch time and not the provided snack). Can’t change what I overheard unfortunately. Reports are suppose to be detailed and apparently staff forgot to offer to show us the more detailed staff reports.
The only concern we still had was the number of children total in the class. It was explained that 42 was the total possible number throughout that included kids that are there only part time. They are under the state and their own policy requirements but it doesn’t feel enough. For my wife and I, the observed class is still a bit too stressful and in our opinion should be split up especially for an age range that undergoing a lot of changes.
We liked the previous room he was in and would probably have liked the next after the 2 – 3 room.

The care givers feels genuinely nice. Rooms are clean. There are curriculum posted on the walls. And they seem to be followed correctly because I randomly pick up my child on different times and caught them actually doing the activity listed. Happy child, Happy mom!

I chose this preschool from the Unilocal reviews and I am very happy I did. Everyone there seems genuinely sincere to providing exceptional care for the kids. My son hates getting up in the morning so getting him to class is a struggle but when I pick him up he is so excited to show me everything he did and never wants to leave.

I was so nervous putting my son in daycare, Putting your childs life in someone else’s hands was such a big step but we did it any way, He loves hand in hand i love that it is more like a school then a daycare, It is so clean and he has learned so much he isn’t even 2 and knows how to count till 10, he sings songs, he wipes his hands and mouth, he sings his ABC he says thank you. He is so incredibly smart thanks to the teachers and staff I absolutely LOVE this place and will never choose anothet unless i moved out of state!

Our two kids have been in daycare/​preschool in Kentucky, San Bernardino County, and SF Bay Area, and all the other schools were not as welcoming, friendly, organized, and academically structured as Hand in Hand Preschool! We are very happy to have chosen and enroll our 5 and 3 year old kids to this school!

Amazing staff and teachers. We only needed temporary care for our 3 year old but they made his transition very easy for me :)

The staff and director has helped me (being a first time mom) transition at ease… from the drop off/​pick up to my son’s progress. My son has been going to Hand in Hand since September 2014 and loves it. I love that he looks forward to seeing his friends and teachers. I highly recommend them, you won’t regret it.

This is the only place I will trust with my son. He loved it here since day one… And I like how the director knows my sons name even when he’s only been going here for a month.

I absolutely love this Preschool (not daycare). I have two boys and my first son has gone to three different Daycare/​Preschools. My youngest has been to only one other daycare and by far this is the best at of all of them.
The amount you pay her is not bad for the education they give your child. You do have to bring lunch but I actually prefer it this way because my son can be picky so I know what I am packing for him he will eat.
The teachers and staff are all friendly and pleasant to speak with. They have a great curriculum. My son just turned 4 and writes very good (sometimes better them my oldest) he is learning how to add and is loving. They make it fun for the kids so its easy for them to catch on.
I would definitely recommend coming to visit this preschool.

Our family loves Hand in Hand Preschool. We love the curriculum they have in place to keep our son busy and engaged. He comes home exhausted and happy. The rooms are very clean and the teachers are amazing. Highly recommend Hand in Hand to any parents looking for the perfect center for your little ones. We are better able to focus on our jobs knowing our son is in great hands.

This is the 3^rd daycare we went to when we moved to Las Vegas. Although it was difficult to change daycares three times within the first few months it was well worth it. It made us realize how poor the first two were after being at Hand in Hand.
They treat our two boys (ages 1 and 2) so well and they love it there. They get great socialization and a learning curriculum. Really highly recommended to any parents trying to decide on a daycare, you can tell the front desk ladies and teachers are genuine and not just there for a paycheck.
