Forte Family Practice

I have been going to this clinic for 7 years. I went to the clinic numerous times in the past 12 months complaining of headaches, during my visit in August 2015 the doctor ordered an MRI of my brain, which was done on 8/​27, he also referred me to Dr. Luis Diaz an neurologist. About a week later I received a call from Dr. Diaz’s office to set up an appointment I was told the first available time was 12/​3, I ask to be put on a cancellation list. He said he would call if there were any cancellations. So I assumed that my MRI was normal, since i was not seen sooner. I also called Dr. Diaz office often to see if there was any cancellations, and was told there weren’t any. On ¹²⁄₃ Dr. Diaz Informed me that I had a brain tumor. Why did no one call me and inform me prior to ¹²⁄₃ and what is even worst is that Dr. Hailstone who ordered the test in August did not even see the results until I saw him on ¹²⁄₁₆. I feel that when these doctors order these very expensive tests, especially when it is of your brain, they should follow up with the patient immediately not 3 months later. I am scheduled for surgery ²⁄₈.

Forte family practice has been my primary care for 3 years. I have had good and bad experiences at both locations. At this location (rainbow /​trop) half of the staff is pleasant and the other half made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I’ll be looking for a new primary care physician.

DR. GARDENER WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS.
Many thanks to him, but 1 star for wasting time and nearly costing us our copay if it were not for him.
What a horrible waste of time this was.
So here is the deal.
$ 150 first visit without any insurance
$ 75 any follow up visits.
We had insurance.
We asked Anthem specifically for «FEMALE DOCTORS TAKING NEW PATIENTS» and the list we got had this place on it.
We made an appointment and then arrived at 3:30pm for the 4pm appointment.
After the usual crazy amount of forms to fill out we waited in the room for 45 MINUTES. I swear this is true.
The wife and I were having a good conversation and I looked and realized that it was 4:58pm and they are likely closing soon!
We asked and were told that they had an emergency and the doctor would be in shortly.
THEN A MALE DOCTOR SHOWED UP.
Now, we requested female. The wife confirmed female.
A male showed up.
Now Dr Gardner was nice and understanding. He said we could get our copay back.
OH YEA. THEY TAKE THE COPAY BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT.
He was fine, but I wonder how many people don’t get that good treatment from him.
Turns out that the main female doctor (according to the MALE Dr. Gardener) was booked out months in advance.
Then the front desk staff said she was NOT taking any new patients, but this was the case the entire time so they booked us knowing this.
A joke. 90 minutes I will never get back. I should have done a timeshare tour instead.

Quite disappointing!
Was able to get in on the scheduled time. Excellent! However when the «Doctor «came in, I received no introduction nor hand shake. He could of been the janitor all I know, very unsettling. The first question, was what can I do for you today? When going over the symptom questions, I’ve never seen someone speak so quickly, and also made me talk fast too. Never looked up when talking, he just read from the paper. It was so obvious and uncomfortable that he just wanted to get me out of the office as quick as possible, almost like a race contest.
In addition, I was asked to come back to get my test results, no mail or phone calls for results. Obvious again this was perhaps not the most optimal solution; however, in my case the test results were positive, which did need added attention to fill my prescriptions.
I did find the Staff to be very pleasant, but give a poor rating based on the Doctor’s performance.

Ok-​you « Unilocalers» SCARED me about this place, but my experience was GOOD! i got a nice call day before appt. and my appt. was maybe 15min. past-​no problem. (just try waitin’ at Nevada Heart & Vascular Ctr. sometime-​minimum 3hrs! And NO seating!) Very pleasant doc-​no lecture on smoking or weight-​whoo-​hoo! Got a scrip for shingles shot (yay!) and a «so far» FABULOUS scrip for severe facial pain. Pleasantly surprised–

Pattern of seeing several pharmaceutical reps breeze in while I’ve been waiting for my appointment (½ hour earlier at best). Pharmaceutical reps are wasting my time.

Sitting in office on a walk in basis because they don’t have any emergency appointments set aside for patients. Can’t give me an estimate of time of wait can’t tell me anything. Hmm it says on paper to let them know if having a allergic reaction which I have, and still no one has asked me about it. Why does it say to let them know. Sitting here an hour already and no nurse to ask me questions. Looking for another office ASAP!!! Been to another appointment here a month ago and the wait time is ridiculous!!!

Had a great experience with Dana Forte! my appointment was at 845 I arrived at 830 because I knew I’d be filling out paper work, and was taken back at 910 for weighing and blood pressure, and actually saw the doc by 927. I see all these bad reviews and i suggest getting a morning appointment b4 they get a chance to run behind. The staff was stern but r getting the job done I’m sure they deal with alot of bs, who wants to fill out medical paper work all day, bleh, poor things. Dana is not gunna sugar coat anything but I like it.

I go in to get blood work then I get a call a week later telling me it’s abnormal and that I need to schedule another appointment to get the results. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You have now lost my business forever and I am switching doctors. You want to charge me more money just to see the results that I have already paid for! This practice is CRAP!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! This doctors office is the worse! The staff is extremely rude, they don’t listen to what you have to say, I called to set up a wellness check for my husband and I, it’s something mandatory we have to do to lower our insurance, when I got there I was told to fill out new patient paperwork, even though neither of us were new patients. Then the receptionists calls me over and says it’ll be $ 38 per person, I told her it was through my company and she said «what are you here for again?» Really?! They rushed my husband in and out of the office because they had a get together for the holidays at the Cheyenne location that they needed to get to. So unprofessional! And now, I just looked at the paperwork that needs to be turned in before the weekend is over and I realize the doctor didn’t even sign it! Save yourself hassle and your time and go somewhere else, we sure will be!

Haven’t seen a doctor here yet, just sitting in the lobby. wait time is ridiculous… I’m starting to wonder if I’m still sick.

Do not go here for a check up. They made me wait in the room for an hour before the doctor came to see me. And she just walks in like nothing is wrong. The doctor sat down and just asked me a few basic questions about my health history and squeezes my legs and arms and says «you seem healthy». I ask for a blood test and they send the lab work OUTSIDE of my insurance network. A month later, I get a bill for 1500 bucks for a blood test –_​_​_​_​-​. Save yourself the money and the headache. Go elsewhere

I used to love this practice because of Dr. Inocencio. I’m sorry to give it a one star, but the service here is so horrible, I can’t get past it. Sorry Doc — your staff does you a disservice. I have tried to get an appointment for a follow up to my surgery for over a month now — they simply do not answer the phone and have NEVER called me back in spite of my multiple messages requesting an appointment. I wonder if the place is still open? Anyway, I tap — though I prefer Dr. Inocencio, I am forced to find another provider because these people clearly do not have the ability to provide the care needed. I recommended him to several friends, who have also received no response from this facility. Too bad.

I had to bring my son here at the last minute to get his arm checked out for a basketball injury. This is the only place that had an opening on the Tuesday after Labor Day, so we came here instead of UMC Quick Care. Well, wouldn’t you know it took us probably longer here than UMC? We arrived at 2:30pm for a 2:45pm appointment and waited two hours to be seen by a nurse practitioner. The staff here was friendly and we did leave with a prescription for steroids for my son, but I don’t think we’ll be back. I really need to find a good family doctor when we’re healthy, not when we’re sick.

Dr Forte has been my family physician for four years and I couldn’t be happier. I’m forty four and have hypertension and can’t get health insurance. NOT that I can’t afford it, I seriously can’t buy it, they turn me down. Dr. Forte is reasonable, I can see her other doctors when she isn’t available, I can’t imagine what I would do without her. Go to the emergency room? HA!

I’ve been going to this practice for a couple years now and it progressively gets worst.
I went in to get some blood work done, when it was time to return for my results they told me the canceled it on the way to the lab without any explanation. Now this is 2 paid doctors visits and blood work through my insurance and they told me I would have to do the process over again. Of course I’m extremely frustrated at this time but I continue with it. After my results came they gave them to me over the phone and that was that. I then called back to ask if there were a prescription I could get for what it was that I had and was told again I needed to come in when we already know what it is I need a prescription for. When I tried to explain that to the receptionist she got frustrated and hung up on me.
To say the least in my opinion they don’t deserve a single dime from my insurance for wasting my time and practicing bad business.

Oh, man, this place is just the worst!
Here’s a rundown of why it sucks so very much:
1. You will wait at least 3 hours for your appointment time. Scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Yeah, good luck with that. You won’t see anyone until 4;
2. You want to make an appointment? Good luck with that, too. They apparently do not have call waiting. So, you’ll just have to keep calling, like you’re trying to win a radio contest in 1997. Except, here, you will win only pain.
3. The staff are not friendly. They openly refer to the waiting rooms as «holding cells.» Screw youuuuuuuu; and
4. The waiting room smells like urine. Like, really strongly.
The only redeeming quality is that you’ll get to watch a ton of trashy daytime t.v. Maury forever.

Let me start by saying that I absolutly love Dr. Gempis! The horrible thing is that I won’t be able to see her again because of the incompetent staff that runs the office. I understand that Dr appointments will run over but I waited an hour and a half while they tried to shuffle me around in waiting rooms. At no time was there any communication about the wait until the very end when I asked if I was next. When I tried to bring the problem up with the receptionist she said «Its not my responsibility.» I was so frustrated and angry that I asked, and recieved, a refund of my co pay and left without seeing a very good Doctor. I hope Dr Gempis changes practices or gets a new staff so I can benifit from her medical expertise.

I love my doctor but, I hate waiting every time I come here n today I’m getting my blood test done which I can’t make an appointment for n couldn’t eat anything before I came in they r making me wait because it’s her lunch time… really!!!

dont bother going here. the wait is ridiculous and the staff has poor customer service. I waited an hour and a half and another time I was asked to come in «immediately» to discuss test results. I waited 2 hours for that appt only to find out the tests were absolutely normal. Waste of time. There are better providers out there!
