despise this company. i had set up an appointment for them to come out and see if i could get internet (i dont have phone lines), and i canceled because i found a cheap easy alternative to internet… and i get a bill for over $ 330!!! centurylink never set foot on my property and now they want to charge me over $ 330! hate this company.

SCAM ALERT!!! You pay your final bill and return equipment and receive an «all good» invoice, then 5 months later you get billed again for «unreturned equipment». Even after sending a copy of my returned equipment receipt, my account sent to collection. Its a scam people!!!

I AM SO PISSED!
Since we activated their service our service keeps dropping or is very slow. For a home with only 1 computer and 2 cell phones I doubt these use so much internet to cause the internet so slow or make it drop. They had a few of their service men come and see what the issue is and they keep telling us they will send someone to fix it but no one comes. When I contacted the customer service the rep said that what can they do by sending in another service man. That is pretty much saying they won’t help, she then said that they have history of only 1 service man coming in to check the issue when that is NOT TRUE!!! she then had the balls to hang up on me. I am beyond pissed! I hate having to pay for something that I can not even use!

SUCKS. So many issues with my bill in the last 4 months I’ve had them. I’m so close to canceling if it happens again. Not to mention, internet speed sucks.

I took my modem back to this store months ago cause I couldn’t get direct tv and I’m still receiving a bill so I called the store and asked for a manager and marisela said there’s no manager at that store. Really? No manager? No wonder they have 1 star she said they would investigate it and I called the 1800 number and they said the same thing thank god I cancelled service with them even if I get stuck paying for the equipment centurylink SUCKS!

Horrible. I signed up for services with them in November 2015, they came to the door, told me they can’t provide services in my subdivision because there was a connection problem, AND recommended I call another provider (Cox). I then received bills for 5 months (Nov, Dec, Jan, Fen, March). I called each month to dispute the bill and they were NOT at all helpful. They kept talking about a mysterious form they had to complete to eliminate my fees when they NEVER even hooked up my internet, cable, or phone, gave any equipment to me, nor provided any service whatsoever. THE WORST experience. I will be contacting a lawyer if I receive another bill from them; it is harassment at this point. How do you charge someone for services you aren’t providing? Very fraudulent and sketchy.

We recently switched our office to Centurylink fiber and regret the decision. The speeds are not what we were promised and the tech support is very poor. The only redeeming quality is that the connection is very «clean» with low latency and almost no packet loss so VOIP phones can be run across it reliably.

I was thinking of switching from Cox when a Centurylink sales guy knocked on my door. I should’ve known what he was selling was too good to be true. He told me that, after all the promotional rates kicked in, wireless and Prism would be about $ 80. What he didn’t mention was that this was before all the hidden costs appeared on my bill.
My first bill was a major kick in the stomach because, evidently, the promotional rates don’t apply to the first bill… or something. I had to pay about $ 214. When I tried to get an explanation from one of the storefront location reps, he was beyond useless. He actually told me to go on the website for help!!! At least the chat reps are better.
So I decided I would mark the date on my calendar that frees me from this one-​year contract from Hades. (Believe me – it’s circled and highlighted.) But, nope, the nightmare will clearly continue before that date rolls around! This morning, only three months after my contract with Centurylink started, I received a letter telling me that «we must periodically adjust rates as a result of providing state-​of-​the-​art-​service to our customers.» And, voila, we have ten more dollars a month to pay now, out of the blue.
As others have noted, I have no idea how this company is still in business. Truly – check out
and see how many ticked off customers want to start a class action suit against these scumbags. I’m praying that there are no more surprises in store, but I can’t be optimistic about that.
Bottom line – if a Centurylink sales rep comes knocking, shut the door as soon as you can and just cut the cord on cable.

I recently moved 4 miles, had to call CL customer service, tech help and financial services. I am being charged $ 275 for the move, not sure if it’s because I kept calling for tech help.
Turns out the junction box on the street was miswired, and so was the house, but I fixed what was wrong while the tech dude was here.
Wish there was a better way to communicate consumer rights, but between Cox/​Comcast/​Centurylink — the consumer suffers…

Tried to become a CenturyLink customer but the E-​mail customer support doesn’t respond via e-​mail to customer support questions. Posted on the CenturyLink facebook and had hoards of people advising me to go elsewhere. No choice but to stay with Cox and DirectTV.

Century link. is messed up they can’t find my account with an account number or phone number and I tell them what I want to do they keep bouncing me to a different department. Frustrating

I have been overcharged every month I have been with Centurylink. They tell you one thing and they and charge you another. They will not put there pricing in writing but I always write down what they tell me and they have overcharged me every month.
I was on the phone with customer service and they lost connection and never called back so I called and they said they don’t have to call back they just take the next call. UNBELIEVABLE! after I was on hold forever to get someone explained my situation and got disconnected and they expect me to call back and go thru all that again. RIDICULOUS!!!

I would not even give them 1 star if possible. Staff purchased phone system from them and in over a year they have not set it up so it works properly. Several of the phones broke right away, 9 months later not replaced. Customer service is unbelievably rude and inept. Horrible experience with CenturyLink.

I am not writing reviews often at all. But I had to with this one! This is about the WHOLE company. not just this branch! They got the worst customer service on the planet. People lying and treat customers like shit. The absolute worst! I have never seen anything like it. They even steal peoples money with signing you up under a contract without you even knowing about it. Then when you complain, they charge much more on the next bill! I can’t believe my own eyes. I have been on the phone with them for so many hours with no result. And I now finally see that this company have thousands on complaints online. People be smart. Do NOT do any business with these people.
Google them for more reviews. You WILL be shocked!

Century Link is the worst!!! I don’t understand how they are able to be in business. I hope people research and read reviews before ever decide to switch over for cable, internet, and telephone. I made a very bad and very costly decision to switch from cox to century link. First of all, do not believe the sales person. They give you an amazing price to bundle. you will later learn what was said on the phone will be extremely higher when you get the bill. The reason why I switched over is because i thought I was saving money!!! Instead I was paying more then 80 dollars more then cox. The sales team will lie and lie. First they lied about the price and second they lie about receiving a 300 gift card when you sign up. So please people don’t be fooled!
So we get the bill and of course you want to call and question about the enormous bill that you were quoted a substantial lower about when agreeing to switch over. Be prepared to be on hold for an hour!!! Then I realize I’m not the only one upset. They are others like me who have discrepancies in their bill!!!
Oh and the service itself is the worst. The cable will pause. We could be watching a movie and it will just pause. Imagine watching the super bowl and it does this. Second the Internet is slow. We had the the 1 gig. Omg!!! Forget watching Netflix or stream anything!!! It kept cutting off! And I constantly had to call my alarm company because my security cameras were always offline due to poor Internet service. Even they said I should have stayed with cox. So I called century link. And again prepare to be on hold for an hour to schedule someone to come out to fix it. Then when they do arrive they ask you what are they there for. I’m like don’t you have a work order???
After all is said and done, I decided to cancel. I waited another hour on hold to do this. When I called to sign up I specifically asked through sales person, am I under any contract and he said no. He said I am able to cancel if I am unsatisfied with the service with no charge. That was an lie. I get a bill of 400 in cancellation fees!!! I feel that they are unethical and I wouldn’t want any of my friends to endure the crap I went through with century link.
They say that they are cheaper then cox. That’s just lies. The reason why cox seems to be more expensive is because they tell you up front about the pricing. Century link will give you a cheaper price over the phone but surprise surprise when you get your bill! All in all, I went back to cox. And I can watch football without interruptions!!! And my security cameras are online without any disconnections because of slow Internet service!!! I’m sooo much happier with cox.

Very bad company.
We were moving on Saturday and we called for moving service the next day. The customer representative promised me that the move will be completed two days later, on Tuesday.
Then I received two emails, one stating the moving date is on Tuesday and the other on Thursday. I was confused. I called the company.
Their automated answering machine sucks, also, they had to put me through 3 different persons to tell me that they cannot complete the move until Thursday.
I was pissed off because I needed Internet for my job and they did not fulfill their promise.
If you can, stay away from this company.

This is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. This is an on going story of 6 months. They promised free install and then charged us. We would call and they would remove the charge just to add it to our bill the following month. This happened 4 times!
The internet is weak, spotty and frequently goes out. A sarcastic and arrogant technician comes to the house and spouts off company policy that just makes the entire company sound like a sham. The only thing I can do is laugh.
The latest policy is «Century Link doesn’t guarantee their wi fi, a neighbor’s hammer might interfere with the signal». Word for word what was said to me.
Since I am paying for wi fi then why would you not guarantee your product? «We didn’t sell you wifi we sold you internet access.»
When asked to be released from the contract we are told «no, we provide you Internet, not wifi but Internet…»
I will do my best to get out of this contract and while I am waiting I will write a review on every social media group I have until the company does the correct thing.

This company is terrible! I ordered service two days ago because their prices sounded great for what I was going to be getting, but then they told me that the installation would cost $ 65, the modem would cost $ 100, the deposit was $ 25, and the bill went from being $ 71 (promoted price) to $ 86. The amount of the upfront costs were unexpected. It was a mess, but I accepted because I need internet for work and school.
I happened to find a provider with better prices and much lower upfront expenses, so I called to cancel installation with Centurylink. I spoke to 7 people about this issue and all but 1 either hung up on me or placed me on interminable holds without asking me or telling me why they were doing so in the first place. I never heard anything back from anyone.
By chance, their system showed that there was already service at this address and I got a call with a callback number. As a last resort, I called that number and they took care of everything (in case you need it, it’s 877.809.3790). I will NEVER even think to go with this company again!
I’d rather not have internet at home than deal with these good for nothing customer service reps, thank you. I mean seriously Centurylink, you had one job…

Now the shopping center that this location is in looks a bit ghetto. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful in solving any issues I had. I upgraded some services.
I know the company in general gets dogged on but I have not had any issues with their service. It’s fairly inexpensive for what you get. The only problem is that after your one year contract you have to call a special line in order to get your rate back down from the month-​to-​month.
