Boston Dental

They post that their hours are 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. My husband called shortly after they were supposedly open, but was immediately directed to the after-​hours answering machine message. We continued to get the after-​hours message until around 8, at which point, the phone started to only just ring out to the answering machine. We left messages as well as sent an appointment application online, but they never got back to us. We had to keep calling until someone answered. After all the mess simply trying to get in mere *contact* with them, we decided not bother with them. It’s a Tuesday and nowhere near a holiday. Shouldn’t take over an hour and a half to get ahold of them.

I agree w Laila. I had an appt this morning and waited for 53 minutes but I left without any work done. I told the receptionist I’m leaving coz i waited for almost an hour and could not wait any longer and she asked if I wanted to reschedule. Really stupid question! Why would I come back here again? So I will be made to wait again? I’m a new patient and the only reason I came here was because my dental plan changed and they are closest to my house. That was my last visit. Very unprofessional.

If there are Zero stars on here, that’s exactly what I would give this place.
The financing staff are uneducated, Arlyn doesn’t pay attention to what needs to be done, numerous times, I told her I cannot bring in a voided check, when I called the office, she told me to bring in a voided check. Arlene, what part of «I cannot bring a voided check did you not understand!!» Anyway, long story short, Arlene was supposed to contact someone to see if we can move forward without a check and she NEVER got back to me. You know, I don’t need this horrible customer service from uneducated people, I have many options of going to another dentist, don’t need this.
Got there at 5:30 left at 7:30and this is with nothing being done, only a consultation I waited two hours. Dentistry Equipment is worn down! Yuk! I wouldn’t go to this place even if you paid me!

Dr Utley was fantastic. Terrified of dentists but he was really awesome. The whole staff made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend going to see Dr Utley. Had to have two wisdom teeth removed and I could not believe how fast it was. Not fun of course but it was done and over with quickly. Thank you!!!

Dr. Utley and the staff at Boston Dental are professional and caring. Having major work done after a lifetime of major work on my mouth. It gets discouraging. Dr. Utley knows his stuff. Minimal pain. Quality work.
The staff in the office have always been positive and welcoming. After providing them with insurance info they developed a care plan based on my ins and finances.
I would recommend this office to anyone committed to caring for their teeth.
Unfortunately I have been to many dentists in my lifetime. Dr. Utley and the staff are by far the best
Don’t waste your time looking for a dentist. Call this office. The breathe competence.

1^st appointment I had here I waited over an hr to get my x rays and also scheduled a cleaning for the same day. When I arrived I had no appointed for cleaning, just x rays. When I arrived for my cleaning I got here 20 min early, they brought me back then said sorry! We need you to sit in the waiting room… 40 min later they brought me back, the hygienist left 2 different times and I am still waiting for the other hygienist to come back to finish. I have been at the office for 2 hours not and they have worked on me for about 5 min total. What a nightmare! I am absolutely furious

Scammers associated with other offices in Las Vegas that scams senior citizens out of their money and do not complete procedures.

A couple of my teeth are dying and got discoloration so I went in for some consultation and treatment plans. I was greeted nicely by the front desk, got my paper work done, and the X-​ray assistant took a full series for evaluation purpose. Dr. Utley then came in and explained in detail what needs to be done and my future options. He is very nice and professional. Later another assistant came in explaining the cost of the procedures needed. Check in /​check out was easy and I had no problems at all. I will be going back for my cleaning and filling on a later date. Great experience! Highly recommended!

I recently changed insurance and was reluctant to use a new dentist and hygienist. I was very impressed by Dr. Utley’s professionalism and knowledge. Very impressed with the hygienist Christy! Not only was she very skilled at what she does, very knowledgeable, she even called me aroung 8pm to check on me to make sure I was doing ok! WOW! First Class service

I had the great experience there, the staffs are very friendly, and the Dr. was very nice and professional. The clinic is very clean and in a very convenient location. I will highly recommend this office to anyone.

We had great experience w Boston dental, all staff are friendly, Dr. Utley is super nice and been patient for all questions. Hygienist did a great job on deep cleaning for my dad so I highly recommend it to everyone.

I had been incredibly happy with my former dentist, Summerlin Smiles, but because my insurance plan changed, I needed to find a new dentist. Boston Dental was the first that I chose from the list, and it was conveniently located. Scheduling was easy and professional. I went to check in, and all of the front desk staff was chatting with another client, while I waited for one of them to make a copy of my id/​insurance card (5 minutes to make that copy).
After a 10 minute wait, I was taken to a room, sat for a few minutes, then was taken to the x-​ray room by the dental assistant. While in there, he was chit chatting with another colleague; a bit unprofessional, but that seemed to be the culture in the office. Their technology seem antiquated, without x-​ray capabilities in all of the rooms like my old dentist. Once the x-​rays were taken, I was seated back in my room and had to wait for the consultation from the dentist. At this point, I was an hour and 15 minutes into the appointment (GAHH!). Dr. Utley came to see me; he was really professional and thorough; and recommended that I need to replace a filling on one tooth, and a crown on another. I had to wait yet again for a consultant to tell me how much this was going to cost me. The consultant came in, and told me the damage ($ 500, when I was expecting it to be in the thousands), and pressured me to make an appointment. She was condescending in her tone, and the final numbers that I was going to be charged didn’t add up, so it made me question her; she said she’d look into it, and mentioned that I’d have to schedule my cleaning. What? The cleaning was scheduled when I made my appointment. She looked at the schedule, and turns out, I did have a cleaning appointment. She took off, and I assumed she’d be back with fixed paperwork, and she didn’t come back.
Now two hours in, I was thinking «when am I getting my cleaning done?» and «what’s taking so long for this lady to come back with this paperwork?.» Finally, I asked another staff member, and they called the assistant, who then asked me to go to yet another room for the cleaning. Hygenist wasn’t the friendliest, and was a bit rough with the cleaning, had terrible flow (went from upper left to lower right, back to upper), and then was pushing fluoride on me. I just wanted to get out of the office at this point, and sat through the cleaning, which didn’t take too long.
I got back to the front desk to check out, and asked them about the numbers that didn’t match, and they couldn’t get it figured out. All three of them were talking amongst themselves about where a piece of paper was, etc. After about 10 minutes of them doing this, I asked them to email me the estimate. Which (surprise surprise) never arrived.
Because of 1– the unprofessionalism in the front desk; 2– antiquated equipment; 3– paperwork that didn’t make sense; 4– the fact that I was there for a total of 3 hours for a cleaning and check up; I will never step foot back into this practice. Such a shame, because Dr. Utley seemed like a really great dentist.

Great staff and open late. They did a great job on 2 root canals and both the temp and permanent crowns. Going back soon for a regular cleaning.

These guys are great. Especially Jared Utley, the dentsit and Vicky, the hygenist. I’ve been going to them for years now and won’t use anyone else. I never feel like they try to convince me to do work that is unnecessary. In fact, once I had to ask them to fill a cavity because they said it wasn’t very severe.

Worst experience– I had an accident and chipped my two front teeth. My insurance covered a good portion of it. But man oh man. They went ahead put some temporary tooth in the mean time, while they ordered my permanents. 2 days later im a Buffalo Wild Wings with friends and my temporary falls out. Embarrassing! I go back that same day and they put some sort of paste that looked HORRIBLE as my front teeth! When the permanents arrived it ended up being too white for my teeth! Soo yea. I have to wait another two weeks for the right permanents with this nasty ass two front teeth. 6 months later go by. I call them to do my free basic cleaning. And they said they won’t work on my teeth unless I pay for this upgrade that’s the advance cleaning. Their explaining made no sense to me. They are unorganized, non professional, and have a hard time getting things right the first time. Very upset!!!

I’m disappointed.
I did get my tooth pulled for $ 175 but only because I was desperately in pain. In my opinion the front office staff wasn’t very good. I came in person a few days prior to get the appt and they waited until 8 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start to call and verify. Like another horrible dentist office they didn’t do it right, but at least at this place the manager was there to help. After an hour and a half we found out I have a dental provider in my home state so I had to pay cash. Why couldn’t this had already been done. Overall it was a negative experience and would not recommend. Biggest issues are the office staff… Never again.

Great place, great people, just poorly managed, especially with insurance policies. The later overshadows the other two so much it makes for a bad experience.

1^st dental appointment today and very pleased. I didn’t have to wait long. Front desk was prompt. Kristian took my xrays with lightning speed. Dr. Utley was very personable, precise, and professional. He even did my filling right away instead of making me come back another day. He took the time out to answer all my questions and explain what needed to be done on my teeth. Overall, I am happy with my first experience with Boston Dental. Hopefully they keep up the good work.
2^nd Visit June 4^th:
Vicki and Tysa did an Excellent job on my teeth cleaning. It was fast and painless. They were very friendly and patient answering my countless questions. I highly recommend them.
I like the location and the décor is great. I just wish they had WiFi. The staff was a little stand-​offish at first, but by the end of my appointment they were all very accommodating and welcoming. I would recommend this dental office.

I have never had an experience quite like this. Last year, I was rushing to get my teeth cleaned while I still had dental insurance. I do go to my dentist back home and the last time I checked, everything was fine.
When I got there, I waited a while to get my x-​rays done and was put in a consultation room where the dentist proceeded to show me my x-​rays and close ups of all the problems I had with my teeth. Apparently, I needed to get all my fillings replaced and that I needed some sort of ultrasonic specialized cleaning techniques because I had peridontal disease and all sorts of eyebrow raising b.s.
I proceeded with the cleaning which was done in a cursory fashion. There was absolutely no real scaling done and a very cursory cleaning (just some crap polish job which didn’t even clean up some of the stains on my teeth). The dentist didn’t bother to check up on the bad job done by the hygienist.
I never returned despite phone calls and email reminders.
I went back home to my dentist who did a full check up on me and all my fillings were fine. I had no peridontal disease and my hygienist actually appropriately scaled my teeth properly (which is what you really are paying for when you get a cleaning), got rid of all of my stains. No crazy ultrasonic technique necessary. The dentist checked my hygienist’s work and told me to follow-​up in 6 months.
The scary thing about dentists are you don’t know really what you are getting into and place a lot of trust in them to do the job they are supposed to do. A good dentist should always check on their hygienist’s work to ensure proper scaling was done because that is what a «dental cleaning» is supposed to do.
