The sign says authentic Thai food but the food says something else. Having been to Thailand I went in with an open mind. After receiving the Tom Kha soup I knew it wasn’t authentic. The Pad Thai ws not even close to authentic. I would recommend but to each their own.

So sad this place has so much potential but the server was extremely rude & overcharged me. A friend & I decided to give this place a try, we walked in & the server didn’t even greet us. We had been on seats for almost 15 minutes with no menus I finally decided to ask for the owner, cause the server was ignoring us. The owner told us the server was having a bad day(stay home if he’s having a bad day) the owner finally took our order & of course still being ignored by the server, when we get the bill we were shocked $ 56.00 dollars for to curry plates. The server after being rude & ignoring us was overcharging us… NEVERAGAIN!!!

Everything Catherine B. says about the service is entirely true, and I would add that the food is not as good as she says. You’re better off nuking something from the frozen food section of HEB. The service was exceptionally rude, without provocation, which is difficult to accomplish in Laredo. Moreover, the server attempted to overbill me. I remember when Lotus was located elsewhere and seemed to be run by different people. It was much better then. I will not be returning.

Great place for a date or for a family. Food is prepared to order with fresh ingredients. I have to say that the shrimp wrappers are to die for, with that great sour sauce. For this cold weather, the chicken and rice soup flavored with ginger is the best in Laredo !!! Their fried rices are superb, great side dish for any combination they have. Paco is the best host-restauranter of the city, no doubt about it. Unique atmosphere with paintings of locals in their walls, lots of parking.

I love this place. I think that it is unique the waiter(Paco) asks a few questions and suggests an entrée. Of course they have a menu but it is amazing to just let waiter pick the right dish for you. The food is great every time and the relaxing atmosphere is just what I am looking for at the end of the day. The place is clean and music not loud. Everyone is friendly and eager to serve you. The food is clean and as far as Thai it isn’t your typical Thai but one quickly becomes a fan.

Terrible! This does not deserve a star at all, but Unilocal requires a minimum of one as a rating for some reason. Lotus claims to be an «authentic» Thai restaurant, however their main Thai dish, Pad Thai, is not at all authentic, nor is it Pad Thai. When I inquired about why the ingredients were completely different from tradition and very straight forward Pad Thai ingredients, the awful waiter claimed it was because«people in Laredo don’t like the ingredients in authentic Pad Thai.» I’m this case, they are serving Mexican food and calling it «Authentic Thai Cuisine.» to make matters worse their vegetarian option contained oyster sauce. When I explained that vegetarians do not eat anything containing animal product, and therefore the dish is not in fact vegetarian, I was told, «yeah but then it’s not going to taste like anything.» Extremely aggravating and horrendous service. The one waiter seemed to be more concerned with in appropriately blasting his music and telenovelas. Completely horrible. I was actually excited about the fact Laredo was introducing some variety into our otherwise stagnant cuisine options and handful of franchise restaurants. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go.

Not very knowleadgeable in Thai food so I got what my friends asked for. It was delish! The customer service is very good, too, and the restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere. I’d like to go there again and again and again.

To say that this is the best Thai food in Laredo is like saying that I am my parents’ favorite son. I am their only son… I had the Beef Salad, which was unlike any other that I have had. I was expecting Yum Nuer, but I got a warm dish that was beef, tomatoes, and onions in a very heavy chili oil. And it was delicious. I’m not sure if it was Thai, but it was good. I guess being this close to Mexico it had to have a Mexican edge to it. The chili was more cascabel-like than the fiery Thai chilis that I crave. I have tried nothing else here. The eggrolls looked Chinese. I was in a green curry mood, but I was unwilling to pay $ 11.95 for a lunch portion of it. The Beef salad was priced well at $ 7.95. Service was on the slow side. The menu was limited, and lacked my favorites(Som Tum, Kee Mao, Yum Nuer, sticky rice) But again, it was tasty, and the only Thai in Laredo.

This was one of the few time i have had Thai, and it was OK. We had the fried shrimp appetizer and it was mildly flavorless and greasy, I wouldn’t reccomend it. The stir fry was good! My boyfriend had the chicken vegetable stir fry and it was GREAT. I had the Cashew Chicken stir-fry, which was kind of spicy, and very good. I was sad that there weren’t any peanut noodles on the menu though… Isn’t this a Thai staple? The waiter was very friendly, and they were playing great music. like Dave Matthews :) It’s cute, but I would still be searching for a better Thai eatery after my experience at Lotus, if i was on a search for one…

Even though I haven’t actually experience how this place operates, I had to give it a shout out after an associate brought me some of there take out. I was in recovery mode after and endless night in a city that has an interesting nightlife. Typically, I rely on bud or that good olé brown bottle brew to take the edge off, but it just wasn’t cutting it. Luckily, an associate brought over some of the best Caldo DE Camaron I have ever had. It was loaded with taste. It had that perfect spicy kick with a hint of lime that can cure any hangover. It’s combination of veggies made it just right, but I was most impressed with the selection of shrimp. They had the cleanest and most fresh selection of shrimp I have seen in Laredo let alone in a Caldo. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about this place yet, except that It’s one of those tucked away treasures like most places in Laredo. I believe it menu is filled with some of the most unique foods that cater to Thai foods. So if anyone out there has a chance to check this place out let me know what you think. I’ll get back at cha when I get to experience the establishment first hand.
