Description

Specialties

Established in 1986 and producing artisan wines grown both on Whidbey Island and Eastern Washington, we are the island’s premier and most highly acclaimed winery. While some of our wines will sound familiar to most wine drinkers (think Merlot, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, Malbec), we proudly specialize in producing unique varieties such as Siegerrebe, Madeleine Angevine, Grenache, Dolcetto, Roussanne, Primitivo, Sangiovese, and even one of the states oldest grapes Lemberger. Join us and find out for yourself how incredible and diverse our states’ wine climate is!

History

Established in 1986.

Greg and Elizabeth Osenbach moved to the island to enjoy a community perfect for starting their family and winery. They did so from the ground up, planting the estate vineyard, building the winery and tasting room, and producing 400 cases a year, eventually working up to where they are now at 3000 to 3500 cases a year, supporting two full time employees and some wonderful part time help for the tasting room as well. The winery has become a mainstay in the Langley community, giving back to them in many ways throughout the years.

Meet the Business Owner

Greg O.

Business Owner

Greg Osenbach began his winemaking career while in the Finger lakes area of New York, catching the fever and becoming an accomplished home winemaker. Over time, he and his wife determined the time was right to take his winemaking to the next level, and combining his love of wine with their love of organic gardening, decided that planting one of the Puget Sound AVA’s earliest commercial vineyards and starting the island’s first winery was a challenge they were up for. A true success story for this state, as Greg and his wife helped the Washington wine industry and emerging Puget Sound AVA find it’s foothold with wine drinkers in this state and beyond.
