The service and food this restaurant provides is absolutely fantastic. It all starts at top with the owner/manager. We hired Woodlands to cater our wedding this weekend and Mr. Pujary was personally there to oversee everything went smoothly — and it did. We received many compliments on the food, and while some compliments may have been people being nice, there were comments from people I know well who I could tell were genuine. The food has a perfect level of spice for me as it doesn’t make me sweat but has enough to keep the food interesting and delectable. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment, the service or the food.

Discovered this restaurant by accident. I was very pleased since I am currently a vegetarian. I had the lunch buffet. All I can say is that the food is excellent! I now consider myself a regular since I will be frequenting this restaurant from now on.

Decent but not great. The waiters didn’t really know their own menu. Some dishes were flavorful and others didn’t live up to the description(spicy dishes weren’t well seasoned or spicy). And. the non-Naan(parattha?) was limp and oily. Chai tea was good though. Will stick to Mango Grove in Columbia.

The wife was on vacation and had a hankering for South Indian so we decided to drive the over 30 miles to Woodlands. There was an all you can eat buffet at lunchtime for 10.95 but we opted for the menu. My Dahi Vada was hard and tasteless. The Masalla Dosa looked good but while crisp it lacked the slight tartness of a good fermented dosa. The potatoes in the dosa did not have much flavor and almost zero salt. Accompanying Sambhar too had no salt and was missing the typical South Indian flavors of mustard seeds, curry leaves and the like. The Mrs ended up ordering some Poori Bhaji, while the pooris were ok the Bhaji turned out to be the same potatoes that were in the dosa to which come canned chick peas were added along diced tomato. Service was efficient and pleasant.

We went to Woodlands while visiting my husband’s family who live in Silver Springs. His mother had made us a large Indian breakfast, so we weren’t very hungry only 2 – 3 hours later, but they told us it was time for lunch. I went in expecting to get a tea and not much more, and then saw the massive buffet, and quickly learned it was all vegetarian. The aroma of the food and the look of the vast buffet drew me in! The buffet was massive! It has a make-your-own chaat bar station, as well as at least twelve different appetizer and entrée foods. Food was continuously well-stocked, and as soon as something neared the bottom, it was replaced. There is something for everyone here! Everything came very well-spiced, but nothing was too spicy that you needed to chase it with lots of water. I’ll note it was packed when we arrived, but we were still seated almost immediately. As soon as we got up to get second(and third) helpings from the buffet, our plate was immediately cleared to make way for our new one. We didn’t pay for the meal, but were told it was $ 11/person. I can’t confirm that by looking at their website, but if it’s true, this is a fabulous deal, as you leave extremely stuffed and satisfied.

I love the vegetarian food here it’s always so tasty and full of flavor. It’s not in the best neighborhood but it’s well worth it. Service is pretty ok but the naan, shahi paneer and everything vegan is amazing. I enjoy coming here for family and it’s such a joy to eat here.

Decided to get a take out from this place. Ordered the pav bhaji and spinach kofta. The pav bhaji was average and Tasted more of chilli than anything. The person on the phone gave me a side of spinach kofta to try. It was tasty but a bit too rich for my liking. Not completely disappointed and will probably give them a try for their south indian food the next time.

i’ve been going to this humble little restaurant for years, and it always delivers. when you arrive, a host will seat you and an ever-present server will take your drink orders quite quickly. the food is consistently delicious, fresh, authentic and abundant; the décor is unassuming with ethnic murals on the walls. my family(some vegan, some gluten-intolerant) all enjoy eating here because of the variety. and, if i call ahead after work for paratha, dahl and onion bhaji — best comfort food ever — i’m always greeted warmly when i pick up my meal. because of its popularity, this place is packed on weekend afternoons. last time we went on a saturday, the wait ended up being 35 minutes. totally our fault — we got there toward the end. is the wait worth it, though? of course. and be prepared for a thoroughly satisfying food coma afterwards…

It’s been soooo looonnnggg since I’ve dined at Woodlands. Like, a few years I guess. My friend was visiting and we were in the area so he suggested grabbing lunch here. Boy am I sure glad we did. It was a Saturday afternoon and I’m a little funny about buffets, especially later in the day. The place was a little crowded but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. My friend reassured me we were safe as he noticed the frequent turnover of the food. I took a little sample of everything and all was so delicious I had to go back for another small round. I was pleased and so was he. It’s worth the drive for me to come here again.

Loved this place! It’s so delicious. The buffet has more than 20 choices on it. Lots of curries, salads, biryani, breads, fritters, soups, and side sauces. It’s $ 16 for the weekend lunch buffet. It gets crowded but there was no wait. Definitely recommend.

Decent food. Dosa was ok. Mysore masala dosa had no masala on it. Potato masala and chutney were not spicy at all. Nothing great about it. Slightly expensive for the amount and quality of food.

The service is good, we ordered the mango lassi, paneer curry and the puffed wheat bread. The bread was very cool it looked like a gigantic ball. The food was good but the pricing wasn’t. We paid $ 15 for a small bowl of curry when usually its about $ 10 for a much bigger size. If the food was very good I wouldn’t mind but it was honestly just mediocre. I would not come back here again especially since its in a heavily hispanic shopping center. I was getting leered at and it was quit uncomfortable.

The dosa from the brunch buffet on the weekends is really just average. I’m not a fan at all. I haven’t ordered dosa on its own, so maybe the full-sized made-to-order dosa is better, but the buffet dosa is underwhelming. The buffet in general, minus the pani puri, is underwhelming — but it’s still the best place in the area for vegetarian food and Indian food in general. It’s not the best ever, but for the area, it really is the best that it gets.

Some friends took us here for their weekend buffet. As I love vegetables, this was the place for me. The buffet is an all-you-can eat mix of southern Indian dishes. The waiters take your plates when you are finished, and you go for seconds, thirds, until you drop! The highlights for me were the desserts(yes, I have a sweet tooth). The kesari was an orange sweet semolina dish — something I had never experienced before. Almost as good was the sevaya kheer(a milk pudding with vermicelli noodles), which you spoon into a bowl. For the other dishes, I enjoyed the eggplants, and the combination of tomatoes, chickpeas and dried noodles. My friend pointed out the chaat table off to the side, explaining it was snack food often served road-side. He kindly combined together a number of the sauces in a round bread/pastry, then instructed me to pour a dark sauce into the pastry bowl. I have no idea what I was eating, all I know was that they were too delicious! I only wish I had started with that instead of discovering them at the end — I was too full to have more. Less impressive were the fried dosai which fell apart in my fingers, and the uttapam which was somewhat dull. Overall, it was definitely worth a trek to the suburbs for the variety of spices, flavors and smells!

Good food and good prices — heaven for vegetarians! I ordered the Malai Kofta($ 12) — one of my favorite indian dishes!!! At first I thought the portion was small, but while the time I finished it(and it was quite difficult) I realized it was more than a decent size. The taste was very good, however — I had better Malai Kofta in other places. My friend took the Special Dosai($ 8) — it’s fried crepes, filled with vegetables. I less like fried food, but it was pretty good. Both dishes came with different dips — it was great. The service was very good! They were professional and very nice. If I’ll have a chance I’ll get back to try other dishes.

I never would have thought that vegetarian food could taste so good? This place has one of the best 15 item Lunch Buffets ever! Everything that I’ve had from here is excellent. It’s the same owner as Jewel of India, but this place is much better & Southern Indian vs. Northern. The Dosai’s here are what you should eat instead(or with) of rice. They bring a fresh one to your table when after you sit back down from the buffet. Perfectly fresh and ready to be used as a utensil. I’ve ordered entrée’s here at different times and everything from the Channa Masala to the Sambar is excellent and not overly oily. I could just drink the Sambar! I recommend the lunch buffet for your first visit(and any other visits) that way you can sample rather than commiting to a whole entrée of something. Plus you don’t get a Dosai with your order unless you order it seperately with, or, as your entrée. Love this Place! Some of the best Indian Food you’ve never had!
