Pearle Vision

Well they say let the buyer beware but I say «Don’t do it!» They do not honor contracts and they will weasel their way out of honoring their promises. Poor selection and even worse service.
I purchased glasses here 7 months ago. The selection was not as good as it had been the last time I purchased glasses a few years ago and I was disappointed with the styles but that is not Pearle’s fault. That is the manufacturers that have insist that all men’s glasses be tiny! I paid extra to get the memory metal as they are more comfortable and I don’t have to worry that some random movement will break the frames. When I got the glasses I was told they would be ready by a time on a particular date and when I go there they had not even fitted them to the frames yet and I was told to come back the following day. I made them do it within the hour.
Anyway the other day I took them off to clean water off them after being outside and they just snapped at the bridge. While upset I understand that every product has defective units so I packed the whole mess over to the store with the receipt to get them replaced. Hey they are under a one year warranty!
Once I take the glasses in they immediately tell me that they have to order the frames and that I will have to pay 30% of the cost. I ask why and they insist that if it is manufacturer defect they would have broken within a month (remember the one year warranty?). I disagree and then they tell me that the manager examined them and says the frames are bent from misuse (remember the memory metal?) I explain that warranties are to cover the product failing for the entire length and memory metal that bends is obviously defective. I am told i will need to take this up with the manager who is not there. I ask him to call me and he NEVER does call.
End result I I had to pay another $ 75 to have them replace their defective crap. I was poorly treated and ignored. Let the buyer beware is the best phrase I can tell others but I for one will NEVER go there again.

Our family has come here several times and some staff are professional and some aren’t. They try to sell you every possible thing connected with eye glasses and you need to be careful cause some are quite overpriced versus others in area. The frames do not hold up well, even the «name brands» have that problem. Let the buyer be aware.

I have been getting my glasses from this Pearle Vision location for 15 years and they always take great care of me. I love my glasses and if I ever have a problem with anything, it gets fixed asap! Awesome people.

Great place. Had a great experience with Dr Pao. Very thorough. Contacts I ordered came very quickly. Returned there last week to have a pair of sunglasses tightened; they had just closed but let me in, took care of the glasses free of charge even though I informed them I had not purchased them there. Top notch!

I was able to get an appointment quickly and on the weekend, which was conveinent for me. I was in and out with an eye exam and contact lens fitting in a little over an hour. I’ll be back for my eye appointment next year!

This place has gone way downhill. I had good experiences there in the past, so when I needed new glasses I didn’t hesitate to return. The first frames I selected shattered when the lenses were put in. I waited a week for a replacement frame to arrive. I picked up my new glasses yesterday, & this morning I noticed a hairline crack running halfway through the frame. Now I’m stuck waiting for another replacement! No wonder they have a no refund/​exchange only policy.

If you want to spend hundreds of dollars and get the shittiest quality frame and lenses, get your glasses at Pearle Vision in Langhorne!
The Optometrist and staff is great, however, the managers do not seem to know how to run a business and give people the good quality items they were promised and paid for.

I have been wearing glasses for 22 years. I went to pearle vision thinking that I would get a reasonably priced, sturdy pair of glasses. I went for the upgraded lenses including the anti-​reflective coating. Within one week the lenses started to get hairline scratches, even with the cloth. Within 3 months, the lenses began to get what looked like cracks that started on the rim and went inward toward the middle. I went back into pearle to inform them of my disappointment with the product and was told that it was my fault, that I did not know how to clean a pair of glasses, and that it would cost me 85 bucks on top of the 350 I had already paid for this junk product. Are you kidding me? It’s now 8 months out, the lenses are completely scratched, and I have decided to take my business to design for vision. Would never purchase again from this company.
I have no complaints with the optometrist, just the product that they sell.

I just spoke with a rep from this Pearle Vision. In Jan 2013, I purchased an eye exam, eyeglasses, and contact lenses from this store. Today, I called the store to ask for my PD (Pupillary Distance) which was not recorded or written on any documentation or prescription the store provided. The person who called me from Pearle Vision refused to provide this simple measurement information. The person acknowledged that the store took the measurement of my PD to make my glasses, and that they have the information on file. However, they refuse to provide this measurement to me, stating «it is not part of the prescription» and «legally, we are not required to provide that to you». When I asked for Pearle Vision to provide documentation of their refusal, they hung up on me. I have read about other optometrists who take measurements, then refuse to provide those measurements to the customer in writing, but this is the first time I have experienced this. Based on this «policy» and the surly demeanor of the staff at this store, I will never shop at Pearle Vision again. I called another Pearle Vision in Cherry Hill NJ who confirmed that their store WILL provide PD information on demand after confirming identity. I called Lenscrafters, a local competitor, who also confirmed they provide PD information. Lastly, I called this Pearl Vision again and talked to the owner, Dr. David Metrow. The owner reconfirmed that their store will not provide PD information to paying customers, though they have the measurement on file. The owner also confirmed that if I came back into the store, they would not re-​measure my PD. The owner was also very surly. I suggest every customer of every optometrist INSIST on getting their prescription information IN WRITING (including Pupillary Distance) before you pay, while you are in the store. Outrageous!
