Palmcaster Moving & Storage

We used Palmcaster for a local move. Jerry came out for our estimate and gave us a not to exceed price. Before the move day we had actually moved a lot of the boxes ourselves just because we were driving to the new house anyway. On move day their crew showed up on time, clean and ready to work. They wrapped our furniture with care and loaded it into the truck. When we arrived at our new home they unloaded our belongings, set up the beds and placed the furniture in the appropriate rooms (one desk would not fit through the door so they put it through a window). We bought the guys lunch as a token of our appreciation. Now the best part… When we settled the bill it was several hundred dollars lower that their not to exceed price (we never thought they would deduct for what we had moved prior). This is a very honest and reputable company.

We used this company for a cross country move. I just finished unpacking our last box. The packers were amazing. They did an incredible and thorough job. Nothing at all in the boxes was broken. Nothing was stolen and they also were extremely honest in labeling things that were bent or broken. They didn’t try to take advantage of mislabeling things to cover themselves later. They were so good that my friend who was there to help, got the names of the exact guys to come and do her next move! I should have written it down so that I could give them credit specifically but it was a busy time. I have a lot of expensive photography gear and all of it was in perfect condition upon arrival.
The shipping was done by Wheaton which I understand to be a separate company. I’m less pleased on this end of things so I’m only writing this for the staff of Palmcaster. The biggest problem we had with them was that they wrote everything we owned furniture wise as totally damaged-​even brand new things-​to cover themselves for things that were broken during the move. They didn’t bring the sheet for me to sign until everything was loaded on the truck. I should have told them to unload everything and let me inspect it but I didn’t want to be pushy-​big mistake. Luckily most of what we own are things I refinished myself so I can fix them but I’m disappointed. Next time I know to watch line by line so I can dispute as things are added. Lesson learned.

Excellent experience with our move. Estimate was a very good price and delivered service as promised. Nothing damaged and very fast service when packing and delivering at our new house. Very pleased!

We have also used this company twice in the past and they have always gone above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. Staff is very friendly and work very quickly. We had moved several times in the past while in the military and experienced many broken pieces of furniture and boxed items. Unlike those military moves, this company is reliable and trustworthy. I would recommend this company if you want an honest estimate, great prices and a quality and professional move!

This is an absolutely horrible business, and I advise everyone to find another company if you are moving. They overcharged my mother for 3 extra hours of time (she’d made the same move in the past, so she knew what it should take), damaged her furniture, lost a carton of her things, and the owner refused to talk with her about these issues. All in all, a very unprofessional company.
