History

Established in 1903.

Grace Chapel has been around for a hundred years. It started in the back of a train car and has moved several times. It also used to be known as First Baptist Church of Lancaster till changing it’s name to Grace Chapel.

An amazing Christian church that puts God first. The staff really cares about serving the Lord and it shows in how they serve others. They offer Wednesday evening small groups, a Saturday evening service, and two Sunday morning services. They also have a great neighborhood impact program that helps serve the community in a variety of ways.
Grace church is a great place to reconnect with God. They preach directly from the Bible the exact words of God, no filler. They provide a relaxed atmosphere with casual attire. You can show up and keep to yourself or get more involved with the church, no pressure.

I have been coming to this church since I was a kid. I really enjoy the sermons by the senior pastor (Chris Johnson). He is not afraid to cover the tough topics in the Bible and his sermons are easy to listen to. I did not enjoy the youth group when I went. There were too many silly games and cliques. I enjoyed their Awanas. I have always enjoyed going to the main service and being encouraged in my walk with God.

This is a church that truly has a heart for others, within the church AND the community! The lead pastor Chris Johnson is an amazing teacher of the word who makes the sermon lighthearted, entertaining, yet deeply spiritual and easy to understand. There are many activities to get to know others and be in a small group if you desire, and kid activities as well! Love what God is doing here and in my life as we’ll!
Re: another post, small groups are encouraged, but not required! Please come back!

If you come into this church knowing what a «small group» is and that it is an unspoken prerequisite to being «accepted» among your peers… then, yes, you have found a home. I, however, will move on.
