Great church, Godly message. Just don’t sit in the back, they clean the open kitchen DURING the sermon. Massive noisy distraction.

Desert Vineyard has been my home for around ten years now. There is just no place like it! It’s a place where everyone is made to feel welcomed, and is a truly «come as you are» church. I have never felt judged by anyone at anytime, however the gospel is taught as it is; not watered down or altered. I am a faithful tither, but as a giver it is also important to me to know where the money goes and that it is managed well. Desert Vineyard gives an annual report that shows exactly that. It’s transparency and love at it’s best.

If you want a church for the entire family, this is it! Our children grew up here from Children’s Church (where kids are taught intentionally not just babysat) to teenagers. There are active ministries for everyone. Dress comfortably and check it out.

What an amazing place to worship. From the get-​go, I was welcomed into Desert Vineyard with smiles, friendly hellos, and warm introductions that made me feel accepted into the family almost immediately! The music is great. Pastor is great. The message is clear… Desert Vineyard is the place to call your own. :)
PS: I totally appreciate the cafes everywhere you turn! It makes church feel like a community gathering instead of a «go in, sit down, be quiet» feel (which is what I was raised with).

My husband and I just moved to the AV, and we were looking on-​line for a future church home. I came across this church (on Unilocal,actually), and I was touched by all the reviews. I also loved the emphasis I saw on the church website to coming just as you are to church, without pretense or religiosity.
But wow, what a blessing! We went to our first Sunday service today and got blown away. They have everything we have been praying for in a church: true diversity, heartfelt worship, warmth toward the needy, evangelism, prayer and intercession. Insert a solid focus on scripture and this appears to be «the perfect church» for us!
This is a place where we felt loved as first-​time visitors. We plan on making this congregation our home church and we can’t wait to get involved.

I love this church and that is something I have only been able to say about one other church. I am new to California and looked for specific things in a church: diversity; one that feels compassionate about doing outreach/​street ministry, good praise & worship music, sound doctrine, and a «come as you are» attitude. This church exceeded my hopes and needs. Not only does it fulfill everything I was looking for, they also have a beautiful campus and they cater to coffee lovers! They have an actual Starbucks Café in what is called ‘The Café Sanctuary’ which is a smaller sanctuary for those who prefer a smaller setting where they can view the sermon on a big screen. The Starbucks is adjacent to this sanctuary. There is a nice water feature when walking to the sanctuaries. The main sanctuary has a great atmosphere. There are rows of chairs but there are also several round tables scattered around the sanctuary. A long line of tables is set up on the side filled with a wide variety of pastries for sale and there is also a café set up in the back for regular coffee purchases.
This church has a lot of ministries and compassionate hearts. There are many support groups for all ages. The children’s ministry is great. All of my kids love their classes and the teenagers love the youth group. This church is truly awesome.

My husband and I first discover this place back in March when our friend Steve asked me to cook meat for taco night at the church. When we went there to drop off the meat we looked around. A very nice lady (can’t remember her name) greeted us and asked us to come and stay for church. I didn’t want to stay that day because I was in front of the stove for almos 4 hours cooking the carne asada for the tacos. I smelled like taco meat, my face was red, and my hair was a mess. I told her we would love to be here next Saturday.
Saturday comes and YES we attended our first services at the Vineyard. We were both catholic. I did the Sunday school growing up and my husband went to private Catholic school. This was new to him. I had attended Christian church before. For a while I have been thinking about becoming a Christian.
We stop going to our regular church a few years back. I don’t have anything bad to say about Catholics. They are very humble but it just seem that going to church was a chore. I felt emtpy inside. I was even thinking about doing their bible studies but never had a chance. I had visited other churches and the pastors just don’t seem to say good things. I had this pastor who knew I was Catholic and the service was nothing but Catholics are this and that. I had a chance to say something to him infront of everybody. (This church has maybe 20 people.)
I asked him «Have you ever been Catholic Sir?»
Pastor «NO»
Me «Well how do you know they are like this like that? Look at it this way if someone does not know GOD should they say something bad about our Lord?»
Pastor «No they shouldn’t GOD is great»
Me ‘True, but intead of saying something bad should’nt you help them find Jesus?“
Well it ended with me not being welcome to that church ever again.
Desert Vineyard is nothing like I have experienced. Pastor Dave always starts by saying a joke. He is out of this world. It seems like you have your own personal service. EVERTHING Pastor Dave says we have either going through or have experienced it. What ever religion you are you have to attend one service and it will change your life forever. My husband does not like to go to church but every Saturday he is always ready for our service at the VIneyard. Pastor Dave sure had done a miracle and he doesn’t even know it. LOL
Desert Vineyard is an amazing church. This church will change you for ever. There is so much you can do. Bible study, womens group, mens group. and they even take trips to Mexico to build houses. Come as you are rich or poor.

This church is a welcoming church that I would recommend to everyone. It is not a small church but it feels small. I feel like i am part of a family.

I feel that there is a church home for everyone in the world — a place where you share worship and learn a meaningful message in community, that just fills your heart with happiness. Just as people have different personalities, churches have different personalities. Desert Vineyard is like my soulmate church.
If I could describe Desert Vineyard in one word, it would be «genuine.» The head pastor, Pastor David, is very smart, eloquent, and humble. His messages always teach you something meaningful, and relate to issues that we all deal with as Christians, and as people. The people at DV are giving, loving, and happy to be there and happy to see you. A main theme at DV is «come as you are», so expect to see people from all walks of life sharing worship and community with each other. I love the way Desert Vineyard is so accepting of people, the way some other churches are not. My two favorite ministries exemplifying this point are the Recovery Ministry (healing for drug and alcohol addictions) and Teen Moms Ministry. DV is aware and compassionate of the realities of the Antelope Valley.
They encourage you to get involved, and it really adds to the positive experience of DV. When I lived in the AV, I worked in the Children’s Ministry, watching the babies during service (it’s where I got my cute baby fix every week). This was so fulfilling and such a great way to spend a Sunday morning! I admire the depth of security precautions CM took to ensure the safety of everyone. I was interviewed and fingerprinted before I was able to volunteer. They’re very cautious because DV is located in a high-​crime-​rate area of Lancaster.
DV also does so much community service. Two of my favorite services the church partakes in are Monday Night Manna every week (feeding the local homeless), and building loft houses in Mexico every year (build at DV and shipped to Mexico and assembled by DV volunteers). These are just two on the extensive list of community services, because that is a key value and goal at DV, which is why I’m more than happy to give my tithe to this church.
On a more literal note, the building itself is very comfortable, with tons of seating, and even different areas for you to choose to sit. There is the Main Sanctuary, with tons of rows of comfy chairs, and a few tables. You can get a nice cup of coffee and breakfast bite at the stations on the sides for a few bucks. Then there is the smaller Café Sanctuary, with lots of tables and chairs, which broadcasts the live message going on just across the courtyard. The Café Sanctuary is right next to the Café & Bookstore where you can order up your favorite Starbucks drink, made by the friendliest baristas you’ll ever encounter (all volunteer, too!) and pick up a CD copy of the latest series. Desert Vineyard also has a Crying Room for fussy kids, and a Nursing Mothers Room, so that everyone can be comfortable and get the message of the service.
Another thing I love is the fact that even though I now live almost two hours away, I can still take part online… They stream the message every week on their website.
Desert Vineyard helps so many people in so many ways… It’s a place to learn about God and His messages, and partake in the manifestation of His word by helping people and giving back.
