Helpful from beginning of consultation to end of procedure and beyond. I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out today. As an adult who has been avoiding this for years, this could have been traumatic. Dr. Picard and his extremely helpful staff made me feel at ease and explained things in detail so I could make the best decisions about my care. I ended up going with just a local anesthesia and it was more than fine. They did everything you’d expect from an oral surgeon’s office, sending me home with a bag of gauze, instructions, when to call, etc as well as a new soft toothbrush. The receptionist even called me a few hours after I got home just to see how I was holding up. Classy and appreciated!
The address is on Madison, but it’s actually best to park behind the building (between Morrison and Carabel) and enter that way.

This man is a butcher! I am an adult who went here to get several teeth extracted to alleviate overcrowding and so I could get braces. He’s actually across the street from my orthodontist, which seemed convenient. I will say that his staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They got my surgery mostly covered by insurance, by some miracle. I’m really glad that I didn’t pay much out of pocket, because I’d be demanding my money back.
This office is in a little strip/​office center. You’d never know that oral surgery goes on here! Park in the back if you go. There’s a big lot behind it, and it’s free.
I had a very nice initial interview with one of his assistants, who explained a ton to me and answered a lot of questions. It turned out she had the same problem and treatment as me, so she had the wisdom of her own experience to share. Then the doctor came in through a back door. He had one foot out the door the whole time, and stood halfway into the back hallway. It wasn’t busy. He wasn’t seeing other patients. He just seemed like he thought I had some highly communicable disease and couldn’t wait to leave. He was very cold and impersonal. We decided on the surgery plan and scheduled it, but he was leery about putting me under anesthesia because I had bronchitis … two months prior. Both my dentist and orthodontist advised me to do the surgery under full anesthesia, and I had no intention of getting several teeth, including two impacted wisdom teeth, out while I was awake.
But the day of my surgery, he flipped the switch on me right before he started, and told me he wouldn’t do the procedure under full anesthesia. He just numbed me and gave me a sedative that he said «will make it seem like all of this is a good idea.» I should have left, but this needed to be done ASAP because of the timing of my braces. I did some checking around, and I am not sure this guy is even licensed to do anesthesia.
I was awake for the whole thing, which actually went OK, but I did not appreciate this at all. They got me up quickly, made me walk down the hall once to see if I was OK, then pushed me out the back door with my husband, like they didn’t want anyone in the waiting room to see me.
About five days later, I got dry sockets. I knew exactly what this was, because I’d had the problem before. So I scheduled an appointment to come in. Again, he couldn’t wait to get out of the room. He told me that I was being oversensitive and that «five days is pushing it; you need to be more patient.» That’s weird … you told me I’d be up and at my normal routine 48 hours after. Hmm. He tried packing one socket, but I was in pain and had the nerve to say «ow.» He threw his tools down and said he was done. Nothing could be done to help me. His assistant looked uncomfortable. He blamed the dry sockets on taking birth control pills and sent me home. I decided not to waste time or money going back. I ended up treating the sockets myself, but it was a long month or so for me and I was very sick.
I wouldn’t recommend this place. He does have a nice, helpful, knowledgeable staff, but this guy has no bedside manner or rapport with patients at all, and he had no right to change my surgery plan and refuse to treat my dry sockets.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out over 10 years ago. This was the man that made that happen. I am glad that I did not chicken out and went through with it. I still think about that day. I am very skeptical about stuff like that and generally a nervous wreck around needles. He let me listen to my headphones while they were going to do whatever was needed to knock me out. I think his son was on my baseball team when I was a young boy. If so, this man saw me get knocked out by a line drive to the eye when I was pitching. If you need surgery on your mouth for something, don’t listen to a referral from some dentist or family member. Listen to PW on Unilocal.I am a real person and this is a real review!
