I don’t think I have ever taken my car to a shop this impressive! From the time that I called inquiring about the estimate process — to actually picking up my repaired car — every person I spoke to was professional, friendly, honest and patient. They made me feel welcome and appreciated! After dropping my car off, I received updates from Trent before my insurance adjuster even had a chance to call me! He spoke up for me when the adjuster wanted to give me a used radiator, insisting they install a new one so it would have a warranty. He walked me through the details of each concern they found — never once making me feel pressured. They even rated the priority of needed repairs and Trent answered questions I had without making me feel like I was wasting his time. The thing that impressed me the most was the team’s honesty about an expensive part actually NOT needing to be replaced (once it was actually pulled out of my car they discovered it just needed a small fix). Not many shops will order a part ($ 600+ including labor) and let you know that replacement is truly not necessary. I left feeling taken care of, not taken advantage of – and I will only take my car here from now on!

I guess I just really wanted to believe in these guys… 1^st time I brought my truck in I got it back with a ding in the door. The 2^nd time they overcharged me for a set of 4 tires, left the glove box detached and on the floor of the cab, and left grease all over the steering wheel. The 3^rd time they refused to honor the road hazard warranty for the 2 month old tire I just bought. Finally, I brought it in for a nail in the tire and an oil change. They were sure to hit me up for an additional $ 1000 in repairs, but didn’t touch the tire. After close to $ 5000 in work and tires, I’ve finally had the loyalty beaten out of me. I’m done.

What? Seriously! It seems like every time I take my car in for maintenance there are hundreds of dollars of recommendations.
I hit a bucket on the highway and took my car in to Pickerings to see what kind of damage there was to the front end and alignment. After all the car is a low profile car and the bucket was the size of a whiskey barrel.
Their shop is nice, wifi, coffee, tv and even a kids play place. It also doesn’t smell of tires and oil which is nauseating at most shops.
They drove me to work so I didn’t have to wait and all I could think about was all the $$$ it would cost.
A couple of hours later my phone rang and I picked it up expecting the worst.
They said something I never expected in my whole life to hear from an automotive company –there wasn’t any damage and that the car was fine, nothing recommended… They did a full inspection of the car and told me I had nothing to worry about.
I have now found my cars forever place… I hope I don’t need them much, but after being deceived about auto repair in the past– I wanted to share the news.

Took my Acura in to have the front running lights replaced. They came back with an estimate of almost $ 800, based on what they said was because they had to special order the lights and housing. $ 800 to replace 2 lights? The next place I took it to found all needed parts in less than an hour and no special order needed. Job completed for $ 150, parts and labor.

Most helpful and honest people! While searching for 2 new to us vehicles, Pickering’s was our go to place for pre-​purchase inspections! Loved their honesty and detailed inspections. We got two wonderful vehicles that we love!

Staff is outstandingly professional and accommodating. Prices did seem a bit high, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In the end I did not mind paying what I did for the service I got. They also were overly professional in the way they handled the repair procedure, they called and went over what needed to be done and only proceeded with what I approved to be done. They also offer finance options for those on a budget. Very pleased, and will use them for future repairs and services.

I have been going to Pickering’s for about a year and a half now. I enjoy them enough where even after I moved I go out of my way to come to them. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure they are fair and I am happy with my service.

I’ve taken my 2002 Jeep Wrangler in for service several times. Every time, Pickering’s has done a fantastic job and the staff is beyond professional and kind. I highly recommend that you bring your car to Pickering’s!!!

I have driven past this auto garage thousands of times in the last 10 years and decided to give them a call.
I had previously purchased a part directly from Mopar for my truck and the dealership couldn’t get it installed soon enough for me so I asked Pickerings how soon they could get it installed and the answer was 6 days earlier than the dealership. They don’t normally take parts from customers but to win my business, they accepted the part and they installed my transmission mount for $ 200 and they had it done within 3 hours.
I am now a loyal customer of theirs.

Own a Ford Diesel and looking for a different mechanic than Ford. Pickerings provided excellent service. I would recommend them to anyone. We thought a major repair was required as indicated by the Ford dealership and found that the major repair was not necessary. Saved a lot of time and money.

I thought that I had made an appointment for Friday morning. To be fair, I did not arrive at 7:30 A.M. As I planned but, I did arrive at 8:00A.M. I had scheduled an A.C. Diagnostic review as the fan was blowing but the air was not cold. 5 hours and 15 minutes later, a tech. told me that the compartment containing the compressor was cracked and the freon had leaked out. The estimate to repair everything was $ 1,389. This was almost $ 500.00 higher than the top range for this repair that I found on a Hyundai repair site.
I will look around for another repair shop.

Great service, Chris, and everyone else there, were extremely helpful, very informative and kept me up to date with all of the repairs. They also let me explore all of my options for repair instead of just doing what they thought I would want and charging for it. I’ll be back for any repairs or service I need in the future!

After having my cooling system done a month ago my power steering fluid leaked out. The mechanics determined that they may have broken it during the earlier repair. Pickering did the whole repair for me, for free. Now that is stepping up to the plate! I highly recommend Randy and his whole team. They really are the best. Good repairs for an honest value. I chose to take Pickerings for 1 reason only; the would give me a payment plan without a credit check.
I had my ’03 Subaru brought to them in ;ate ’09 for a check engine light that was determined to be a bad cad, which needed to be replaced. In the inspection they also determined that I needed new brakes, which was fine because that was also a know issue. Because these repairs were going to take a day or more, I needed to use their loaner car for $ 30 per day, which ended up being 3 days that they kept my car.
All in all they replaced calipers, brakes they said my roters were shot and needed replacing (instead of suggesting that we just grid them). Like basically they rebuilt my whole front end, and at the time I was already in the hole so badly, I even called them to tell them NOT to do that cad and just the brake/​front end stuff. I should have told them to scrap everything and just stop, and I’d get my car. I didn’t, and that was foolish on my part.
The end bill was $ 3800. I paid of that forever, AND with a brand new baby. It was awful.
So fast forward to know; that same car has cad issues again and needs a total replacement. A reliable and very well rated shop does my repairs now, and I trust my mechanic to shoot me straight. For such an expensive and necessary repair, it really makes me question WHY a catalytic converter would need to be replaced 2 seperate times, if it even needed replacing in the first place.
I wasn’t happy with what they did back in ’09, and I’m very unhappy with what I had to pay to learn that lesson.
Do your research and go anywhere but Pickerings.

1^st visit = last visit. Called on Monday morning and talked with Mark about a rattling noise my ’97 Nissan Maxima had been making, asking if they could listen to it, maybe give me an idea what they think it is, then set up an appointment. He said it would be better to make an appt for first thing Wednesday, when he could ride with me to hear the sound and then I could leave it for them to do their $ 49.50 diagnostic and perhaps repair. So I made the appt.
On Wednesday, I got there when they opened for my 7:30 a.m. appt. Ariel went with me and heard the noise right away; we drove to the light rail station so I could catch the train to work and she drove my car back to the shop.
I had paperwork from the previous FIVE visits to other auto shops trying to fix this noise (new front & rear brakes, front struts, rear struts, new CV boot & half axle — still noise) that I was going to fax them, but then realized I’d left it in the car. I called to confirm this, which was around 10:30 a.m. Ariel said yes it was there, and they were waiting on the expert mechanic they wanted to look at my car to be free. She said it would be in the next 20 – 30 mins and then they’d call me.
1:30 p.m., no call, so I called and spoke with Mark, who said they were STILL waiting on the «expert tech.» I had indicated I needed my car back by 4:30 pm. — yet at 1:30 they hadn’t even LOOKED at it? I reminded Mark that I had an appt for 1^st thing that morning, which I’d made on Monday – if the guy wasn’t available, they should’ve scheduled me another day. He just kept saying, «We’re working on it.»
At 2:30, called back to see if they’d started yet, and was told I needed to talk to Ariel, that she had the ticket. I was put on hold for EIGHT MINUTES. Finally hung up and called them back. Ariel said they were just calling me. Their diagnosis was that I needed new calipers, which would involve replacing the rear brakes that were BRAND NEW in November. Total: $ 915 not including taxes & shop fees. They also said I had a bushing that was shot, so they wanted to replace the entire rear stabilizer bar, which would be another $ 375.
No way was I paying that. I went & paid the $ 49.50 diagnostic fee, picked up my car & took it straight to the shop that originally did the brake job, since my brakes were still under warranty. They told me to bring it the next day (it was near closing) and they’d fix it.
Did an early-​bird dropoff at the original shop, and by 10-​ish they’d figured out a piece of caliper hardware was missing and needed a hardware kit. By about 11 the car was done, the mech said it wasn’t rattling any more; total $ 48.67.
So Pickering’s was going to charge me $ 1300 for a repair that only cost me $ 48.67.
NEVER GOING TO PICKERING’S AGAIN. I would advise others not to go there either, unless you want to pay outrageous prices for work that might not even be needed.
UPDATE: Received a call (during dinner) from a lady inquiring about my experience at Pickering’s; told her it did not go well. She said she was sorry to hear it and would have a service manager call me «to try and make it right.»
About an hour later I got another call, this time from one of the Pickerings (Brent? Trent? not sure), calling about my Unilocal review. I told him it was pretty complete, what did he need to know? His first statement was: «I want to know why you’re BADGERING us in your Unilocal review regarding your service?»
Badgering? Excuse me?
I tried to explain that my experience with PICKERING’S was terrible (he kept trying to blame the 1^st mechanic), but this guy kept talking over me, arguing, BADGERING me, basically harassing me. He insisted their diagnosis was correct, that they did what they were supposed to do. I said NO, Pickering’s told me I needed NEW CALIPERS, NEW BRAKES, and A NEW REAR STABILIZER BAR, all of which would cost over $ 1300, when all I needed was a caliper HARDWARE KIT. He still tried to blame the first mechanic. Whether it was the first mechanic’s fault is moot — Pickering’s never said, «You need a new caliper HARDWARE KIT.» There is a vast difference in price between a caliper hardware kit and new CALIPERS, brakes, and a rear stabilizer bar.
Bottom line, Pickering’s wanted to charge me $ 1300+ for a bunch of stuff the car obviously didn’t need, because the hardware kit fixed the problem. I even told the Pickering guy who called that I gave the first mechanic Pickering’s diagnosis printout, showing that the car *supposedly* needed new calipers and rear stabilizer bar – which the 1^st mechanic could’ve charged me for. The brakes themselves were still under warranty, so at least I wouldn’t have had to pay that part of the cost all over again, which is WHY I took it back to the first mechanic. DON’T HARASS ME AGAIN, PICKERING’S.
p. s. Yes, Randy P, I declined calipers at the 1^st mech, & it still didn’t need calipers. 2^nd, I did NOT authorize any repair w/​Pickerings, only the diagnosis, pending a quote on repair. Stop trying to justify. Waste of time.

Pickering’s has amazing customer service; they make sure you understand the choices and respect your decisions. They went the extra mile to make sure we got our car back for the holiday. We have multiple family members who worked in the industry for many years, and it’s clear to us that Pickering’s is knowledgable and fair.
