Rick was great! My wife’s MacBook Pro’s screen was cracked and the hard drive was quickly dying on us. Rick was able to replace the screen with another that looked like new. He also was able to save my wife’s pictures, which she was worried she would lose and upgrade her hard drive with a faster SSD. Now her MacBook is running faster than ever and I have to admit I am a little jealous. Rick definitely know’s his stuff, his prices are fair and he works very quickly. I wouldn’t waste any time going anywhere else if you are having issues with your Apple devices! Thanks again Rick for all of your help!

I brought my laptop (macbook pro 2011) in and Rick diagnosed the problem in about 5 minutes. It was a video controller issue that is covered by warranty with Apple so suggested I go there to have it replaced free of charge. He did not charge me anything for the diagnosis. He came in early as well! Talk about a class act guy! Thanks Rick! I will be using your service again when I’m in the area.

Rick was quick, effective and affordable. That old saying of «good cheap fast, pick two» does not apply with Rick. He replaced my hard drive that crashed and installed a new os all in same day and for 120 + very reasonable parts. Would highly recommend.

Great place to take your Mac for repair! Our computer went out due to a bad video card and Rick had it up and running in a few days and charged a much more reasonable price than the Apple Store.

My 5 YO MacBookPro had some bad blocks in the Hard Drive. It was crawling on simple tasks, crashing a lot, and I was almost to the point of buying a new one. Took it to Rick and it is like day and night. New SSHD/​StdHD combo with 1T storage. I haven’t heard a fan since I got it back. No crashes and very fast.

Wonderful. Honest. Quick. Why can’t all businesses operate like this? The Apple Store wanted $ 1,140 to rebuild my 15″ Mac Book Pro. A friend’s kid spilled massive amounts of water into it. Rick pin-​pointed the problems, fixed the machine and made some genuine improvements to it in the process, for around $ 300 if I rightly remember. While Apple San Francisco was profoundly friendly, they nonetheless instructed me to buy a new one and decreed my laptop as worthless. I am wary of this brand of canned fatalism.

I brought my MacBook Pro in for some service because it was slowing to a grinding halt. Rick was sick when I called but he stayed until I was able to get across town to him. The clowns at the Apple store’s «Genius» Bar couldn’t figure out what was wrong in two visits to them, but Rick was able to diagnose the bad hard drive and replace it. The pricing was certainly great, poor guy will not be able to retire any time soon… but he did earn a customer! Replaced the HD, gave me very detailed instructions on how to get back on track after the failed hard drive and stayed late, (again), for me to pick up my machine. He contacted me a couple times throughout the process to give me updates and let me make some choices on how to proceed. I’ve been to many of computer repair places but this will certainly be the only one I swear by. Thanks Rick!

Mac OS X Disk Utility displayed my four-​year old iMac’s hard drive in RED. With a notice: «drive failing… replace…»
I called Rick and he said:
1. $ 80 for 1TB drive
2. Two hours labor for $ 150. (It turned out to be only 1.5 hours.)
3. Can fix today. (was done within 3 hours)
He replaced the drive for a total of $ 196 (inc tax) and I restored using my SuperDuper! backup.
All is well.
Rick is knowledgable, honest and very responsive. Highly recommended.

I was charged $ 20 for showing me the 1 one step to get to the page for the password for outgoing mail. This took maybe 10 seconds.
I agree I could be charged $ 20 for being stupid.
Its too bad because i was also checking him for my 4 friends that have Mac products and would have like to have someone nearby for help and services. Not going to happen.

You guys, Rick is the best person ever.
Unfortunately while I was out of town last week, a pipe burst and flooded almost every room in the house. Even worse, I had stupidly left my MacBookPro on the floor of my living room, next to the coffee table.
I picked up my computer and water just poured out of the disc drive, I knew my computer was toast. I have thousands of photos on it (including wedding, honeymoon etc.) and I just stood there and cried. I NEVER back anything up, everything was on my computer. My whole life for the past 4 years.
I made an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store for the next day. I took it in, told them what happened, and they said the computer was already corroding. Apple also doesn’t do data recovery and they informed me I needed to take it third party to try and get any of my photos but it wasn’t «looking good». They also told me it would cost $ 1400-​$ 1500 to get my data back, but I shouldn’t expect it to be there.
I took my Mac to Rick the next day, based on Unilocal reviews. There was still standing water in my computer when he opened it up, and it was indeed corroding. He told me it looked «pretty bad» and I really lost hope of seeing my photos ever again. He said he would try a few things and get back to me. A few days go by and he tells me to bring him an external hard drive– he was going to be able to recover my data! I brought it to him yesterday and he called me up today saying my new hard drive was ready to pick up! He even stayed open late to meet me.
When he told me how much I owed, I was floored…
He said it was a difficult job…
He only charged me $ 160.00.
What.
I told you, Rick is the best. He is fair, honest and personable– I’m so happy people like him exist! I am going to bypass the Apple store from now on and take my computer directly to Rick. You should too.

It’s a sad and potentially expensive day when you break the LCD screen on your amazing 17″ Macbook Pro (I’ll pour a 40 on the sidewalk for my homie later). I could have had Rick fix it; he offered the best price in town (called 6 or 7 other Mac repair shops, he beat their price every time), but my dad happens to be a PC repair business owner, so it made more sense to sell it and use the money to buy a new PC that I can get repaired for free. I could have spent weeks on eBay and/​or Craigslist trying to get the best deal possible, but Rick saved the day again and purchased it from me for a fair price.
Goodbye old friend; I will miss your magnetic charger thingy.

Hate to be the first one to post a bad review but I took my mac to this guy twice, only to have him not fix the problem. I wanted to support a small business but ended up going to the apple store. They may be expensive but at least they get the job done.

Rick is amazing, and let me tell you — I am picky! I was told by Apple there was no way to replace an iPhone 4S screen because I naturally, bounced my phone. Called Rick on Monday morning, brought my phone to him early in the afternoon, and 45 minutes later, a perfectly replaced screen and fully functioning phone. I HIGHLY recommend him for any service he provides that you might need! He has great customer service, and mad skills!

This guy Rick is the real deal. You want to speed up your older Mac, fix your Mac, order a new battery for your Mac. He will give you straight advise if you need advice. I’ll be back anytime I need Mac help that the internet can’t give me. I recommend him to my friends.

Great place to take your apple to get fixed. I took my laptop there to get fix it after the apple store took it apart and was going to charge me ²⁄₃ the price of a new laptop, but after several attempts he was not able to fix it because the apple tech broke some parts getting the laptop apart. He apologize for not be able to fix it and did not charge me for the time he spent working on the laptop. In the future I will bring my laptop to him first before I go to the apple store.

Rick was awesome. I dropped off my broken 4S iphone, came back in a hour, and it was perfect… Less stress, better service, and the right price. I will never walk into the Apple Store again! Thank you!

My [stupidly, horrifically, painfully expensive] MBP went kaput, and the guys at Apple were absolutely worthless, so I was holding my breath that an independent guy with rave reviews would be able to provide a little more assistance. I called up Rick, and he told me to come on in so he could take a look.
Within an hour, we ran some diagnostics and repaired a couple things which should keep my baby chugging along for a little while longer. He didn’t ask for a penny, only that I keep in touch if/​when it finally goes out for good (please, PLEASE do not happen now. I’m time-​machining and writing this from my phone.)
I offered up some donuts and coffee for his help, to which I got a very funny look, so I’m singing his praises instead. I would recommend coming to Rick with your Apple problems before any other shop. His quoted rate for the future fix was just below Apple’s, but I think I might rather have him do it than them. The guy has been in business for so long for a reason, and the reviews speak to it.

My hard drive was in danger of dying. Because the Unilocal reviews for Rick were great I called him.
Rick not only picked up my computer, the day I called he returned it in a very short time. He was also able to recover my files before they vanished into cyberspace.
He is knowledgeable, personable, and very reasonable. He answers calls right away, gives you accurate quotes, and returns your MAC in a very short time, with the work done professionally and completely.
I would recommend him in a heartbeat.
