This practice is to dentistry what Cheers is to neighborhood bars — a comfortable place where everyone knows your name! I’ve worked with pretty much everyone in the office and always walk out feeling well cared for and knowing i’m totally informed. Natalie, Rosemary, Holly and Alisa knock it out of the park every time.
Dr Borris is just awesome in every way. I’m cursed with bothersome teeth and feel blessed to be in her care. I’ve never felt pressed to have work done that I didn’t need and, in fact, some of her recommendations will save me money (and pain) over the long run. I’ve also started bringing my two young adult sons in this year and couldn’t be happier.

I’ve had great experiences this Dental Office, everyone is so nice and professional. Their knowledge is up to date and so are their skills and technology. The office is quiet and comfortable. I used to hate going to the dentist and this office has really change my experience for the better. I’ve had cavities worked on here, I’ve had a tooth extraction removed from here and they treated my bone infection and I’ve had teeth cleaning done, every experience the staff was very concerned bout how comfortable I was and made sure everything went smoothly. Dr Borris is so kind And was very concerned about my over all well being and health. We need more Drs like her. I’d defiantly recommend this office.

I had my first office visit last Friday and Absolutely Love Dr. Borris and her Entire Team! What a sweet bunch of women my wife and I met today! They were incredibly professional, respectful and — even though I got Horrible news about my future dental care — they were very comforting and … did I mention, Sweet! Although Dr. Borris is nice and has a great rapport with patients, I did not have a very good experience here and will probably not return.
The biggest issue, besides a hard sell on treatments that are not proven to work for my condition, was scheduling the appointment and dealing with the office staff. It was ridiculous. The receptionist repeatedly demanded my insurance information and got snippy with me on the phone, although my insurance provider does not issue any type of insurance cards. I told her that I have had this provider for over 10 years and that I had coverage, and gave her the group number, but apparently that wasn’t good enough? With the same insurance company, I received care from 5 other dental offices in 2 states and there was no problem, nobody at any of those offices ever hassled me about my coverage.
When I came in for the cleaning, the receptionist was very unfriendly and told me that I didn’t have coverage. I was ready to leave, but after she wrote my Social Security Number and birthday on a Post-​it (yikes — I sure hope she shredded it), eventually the receptionist was able to verify that no, I was not lying, and yes, I had coverage for a cleaning. I understand that they want to get paid, but taking a demanding or argumentative stance with patients is poor business practice.
The cleaning was painful and took a very long time, although the hygienist was nice and didn’t try to talk my ear off. Instead of telling me to open or close my mouth, she would just push on my teeth with the mirror, which I HATED. I’m not sure why she couldn’t just say, «open» like every other hygienist I’ve ever gotten a cleaning from. She used an ultrasonic cleaner and it made my gums hurt a LOT during and afterwards. I floss and have excellent hygiene so I’m really not sure why I was in so much pain from just a cleaning. I have had root canals before, so I’m not a wimp when it comes to pain or dental work. She seemed puzzled when I told her that it was painful; she said that my gums looked fine and there was no bleeding or swelling. Then she tried to upsell me a fluoride sealant that my insurance company would not cover. To her credit, she at least was honest with me about insurance not covering it. The room was tiny and she kept bumping into my chair, both while she was doing the cleaning and while the dentist was examining me.
I am used to dentists trying to continually «upsell» because they have to make their practice run. Both the dentist and hygienist tried to tell me that my gums were receding due to my teeth clenching at night (everyone’s gums recede with age and I have gotten other dentists’ opinions that my gums are in excellent health), and that an occlusional splint would relieve my headaches and pain. The appliance would have cost me over $ 400 out of pocket — insurance won’t cover them because there is no clinical proof that these devices have any benefit for patients with TMJ. When I hesitated and explained that other dentists had also tried to sell me the splint at an exorbitant out of pocket cost, she said that she would submit it to my insurance company and that I could take out a CareCredit credit card to cover the rest. The idea of going into debt for an appliance with absolutely no proof that it will help me is just appalling. I know that going to the dentist sucks, but it shouldn’t be this unpleasant.

Just has a bridge done to replace a bad tooth. From the extraction to the installation of the bridge, I had virtually no discomfort. Dr Borris was very tuned-​in to me, even asking «Am I hurting you.?». Don’t think I’ve ever had a dentist ask such a direct question.
I recommend Dr Borris and her staff without reservation.

I found Dr. Borris through my insurance and I am glad I went there for my cleaning. They are very thorough and kind. The building is an old house so it feels mellow and laid back. My experience with my hygienist was wonderful. She was gentle and trained in very modern techniques.
Dr. Borris is very gentle as well and seems passionate about what she does.

I have been going to see Dr. Pontarelli since I was a little kid. After a few job changes I now have Belmar Dental available again under my insurance plan. This place is full of great people and a wonderful staff that makes sure you are taken care of. In the past the location wasn’t open on Fridays however with a new dentist available they are open on Fridays. I can’t recommend this dentist enough.
