Locally owned small business specializing in Media Blasting, Powder Coating, Welding, and Motorcycle Customization. Our orders range from coating individual pieces up to batch orders of several hundred pieces, with piece sizes ranging from small brackets to 15′ long fence railings. Blasting for powder or paint prep on almost anything, including full vehicles.

History

Established in 2010.

What started out as a hobby turned out to be too good keep shelled up. In 2010, John and Jake decide to go larger scale and and transform their garage operation for personal projects into a business and moved shop to their Lakemoor location. Over the following three years the shop has doubled in space adding updated equipment along with new color choices and services.

Beware and avoid. Had repairs done to my Jeep wrangler after being in an accident. Body work was superb from KDX but he outsources to them for powder coating (PC). Got it back it and first thought was that it didn’t match the PC on the rest of the vehicle. Small complaint, accepted it.
After 2 months it was rusting at multiple points. Called KDX, they coordinated with JTS, who said to drop it off. Did so and after a week and several calls finally heard back from the owner who said he didn’t see the problem. I sent him the same pics I sent to KDX who said that’s a problem and coordinated the correction.
Never heard back.
Called again, heard back 2 days later. Saying «we cannot cover where the d-​rings wobble in the mount.» That’s fair, but that’s not my complaint. Said he’d review.
Again waited days…
Finally hound them enough to get a call back. It only took 4 calls and accusing them of not standing behind their work. The aggressive and defensive person on the phone said he was insulted by me accusing them of not standing behind their work and in the same breath said he would never warranty a Jeep’s PC because it goes offroad. Don’t think he even caught the irony?! He then said he can respray on my dime, but won’t get to it for a couple weeks. I said I’m done and made arrangement to pickup.
I arrived at pickup time. Nobody there. knocked, nobody there. Called multiple times, no answer or return. Finally one of their neighbors suggested I travel around back where some guy was playing with his phone. He didn’t say one word to me. I found my bumper and it was coated in a quarter inch of overspray and shop dust as it sat there uncovered in their shop. How tacky and unprofessional. And no wonder the guy said he didn’t see a problem.
When I got it back to a trusted McHenry auto repair shop for other work the owner confirmed:
1) the inside wasn’t prepped right, it was already bubbling (not caused my off-​road jeeping).
2) outside coat was so thin that it was allowing bare metal to show (not cause by off-​road jeeping)
3) it will not be a rusting nightmare unless I get it coated somewhere else.
I’m sure this will get aggressive and defensive replies from the shop just like their facebook reviews.
